When I started this review, Yelp made me select how many stars I wanted to give Fazoli's. The caption next to 5 stars said, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" I couldn't have summed it up better myself. This place kicks the living sh*t out of any other Italian food I've ever had. This restaurant is probably one of the best kept secrets in the country. If more people knew how good this food was, I'd be very surprised if we didn't eventually stop seeing cans of Chef Boyardee on the shelves. I'm serious. Fazoli's puts Spaghettios to shame. I went here for dinner on September 16th with my wife. She got the Acciughe al Nero di Seppia alla Puttanesca con la Bottarga all' olio e Peperoncino. It was the tastiest spaghetti she'd ever had. I got the Saltimbocca alla Romana alla Milanese con Zafferano di Petto d'anatra Acquadella o Latterino Fritto. This delectable lasagna was better than my mom's. Don't even get me started on the Verdure in Pinzimonio Tiella di Riso Patate e Cozze di Seppie alla Veneziana al Basilico. These are warm bread sticks, and they give you as much as you can eat. Needless to say, we'll be back.

I went through the drive thru at Fazolis this past week. I thought the staff was very friendly, and gave suggestions when I couldn't decide. The food was hot, quick and very good. Overall, we would go here again.

This is not gourmet Italian by ANY stretch of the imagination. But then again, did you really expect it to be? I mean, they advertise for $3.99 Baked Spaghetti on their sign... I tried the Italian Wedding soup, the chicken bowtie soup, and the pasta with meat sauce. The woman checking us out was very....clueless. We asked her if we could get the soup instead of the salad and she said yes--but then couldn't do it. Then when she called someone over to help her, it ended up being about $10 more than it should have been. So we asked what the problem was, and she really never made sense explaining it. So we just ended up getting our pastas with soup and never got the salad they were supposed to come with. So we were gypped without knowing it when we left. They were very plentiful with their breadsticks, though, I will give them that! They gave us about 8 to share between the two of us. The greasy/buttery goodness made me happy! The soups were pretty solid. I wasn't sure how they were going to be since there didn't seem to be much "substance" to them, but they turned out to be pretty tasty. My spaghetti with extra meat sauce was really good, but my mom said her marinara was just "ok", and she threw most of it away. Great idea if you're in the mood for a quick meal, but that's really about it!!

When this store first opened, we'd stop there on the way home from church occasionally to pick up lunch to take home because my kids liked it. The baked lasagna wasn't bad, and the breadsticks are excellent. Once, after ordering sauce with meatballs, we got home to find it was meat sauce and not meatballs. Now that the kids are out of the house, I don't go to Fazolis anymore. I am just not crazy about the taste, and I don't care for the thick spaghetti noodles. If you want fast Italian, this is the place to go, however.

Used to be good but has been on a downward slide for years.

Really good fast food Italian. Love the free breadsticks most of all. The portions used to be larger which was nice, but the food quality is still very good. I had the spaghetti and my wife had baked spaghetti. When bringing a 1 year old be sure to have lots of napkins.

This is like any other fazoli's in the country. The staff are nice, and the food is "fast food" italian. The breadsticks are good and are unlimited but you have to go to the counter to ask for them. The place is quieter than other restaurants in Rochester and so its not hard for them to accommodate groups, or for an individual to do some reading over a meal.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
