Traveling trough on a Saturday night. Service was friendly but very slow. Food was good but not great. Hard to give more than an average review.

They ran out of the daily lunch special-- at 11:30am! But we weren't told until we had already waited for 35 minutes. Good grief...and the restaurant was practically empty. With this sort of total disorganization, no telling how fresh the food would be, or how sanitary the kitchen was. You have to wonder. The waitress apologized, and they comped us free entrees, which were ok. But we were pretty sour at that point, and probably wouldn't go back.

Today, my family of 6 gathered on this particular restaurant as it was the most equidistant from the three groups. Now, in the past I've had pretty good experiences with Timberlodge, but this one was an exception. First, the service was just kind of unfriendly. They weren't exactly rude, but they weren't even remotely friendly. Second, the service was sloooooow. My sister asked for a glass of water and she waited for 15 minutes in a not busy restaurant. Ridiculous. Third, the food wasn't very good. i ordered the large filet, and asked for it medium rare. According to both the little list of doneness at the table, and my own experience with steak, it came out medium done. Huge difference there, yeah? Our server also didn't have the beer list memorized, and there wasn't one at the table. I asked what Summit they had on tap and was given a "ummm...i don't know, leinenkugel's?" to which I replied "uhh...what?" and then she didn't even check, she just brought me a Summit. Thankfully it was an EPA, and the nice, frosty mug it came in got this place another star. Unless you're starving and have a MAJOR hankering for steak while heading down 35, avoid this place like the plague.

While visiting Old Navy the lady checking us out over heard us looking for a place to eat and recommended Timber Lodge. She they cook everything fresh and their soups are all homemade. They have happy hour from 3-6 everyday and so we got some drink and appetizers for discount. The potato skins were the best I have had. We got 3 large potatoes cut in have covered in cheese, bacon, and chives. For the main dish I had the walleye. It was very good. Came with a salad (also good), green beans, and I got sweet potato fries as my other side. All very good. If I ever come thru this place again I will eat here happily.

Best walleye I have found so far. Delicious is an understatement. A little slow but you are waiting for quality. Parmesan crusted walleye is highly recommended, as is the Walleye cakes appetizer. I have tried several dishes over the past couple of years and have NEVER been disappointed. Steaks burgers and seafood all have been good. I always look forward to it when I find that I am headed in this direction

I love this place for it's Saturday and Sunday lunch and happy hour specials, which is where I think the best value is to be had for your buck. I completely avoid this place for Friday and Saturday night dinners as it is crowded and the wait times are long. They also switch to a weekend short dinner menu that is about a third the size of their normal full menu offered for lunch and weeknight dinner.

Honey wheat bread was reheated in the microwave. French fies definitely were not fresh. French onion soup was good. Ok dining experience. Would not drive here just to eat here. However, if in the area and craving steak I would stop.

Few restaurant options in Owatonna. This one is probably the best. Prices are reasonable / proteins were properly cooked.

Meat + Beer + Cheese Curds = A great meal. Timberlodge brings it, with an affordable menu of delicious cuts of meat. The service was extremely friendly and the Wild Rice Soup is homemade and delicious. I had a Viking, lineman sized of course (terms from the menu for the big sirloin). Recommend if... A) You love beer, meat, and cheese. B) You love cheese, beer, and meat. C) You love beer, cheese, and cheese (for vegetarians).

Very dissappointed with our experience. We had our travel girls hockey team have a team dinner there and our experience was HORRIBLE. The wait staff treated our group as a nuisance, when a couple of girls couldnt find something they wanted to order, they tried ordering off the kids menu, and the waitress forced them order 2 items before receiving anything without informing the parents who were sitting one table over. They also didnt honor a promotion that was printed on the Comfort Inn key cards for $1 appetizers. We travel often with our hockey team, and most restaurants handle large groups in stride The waitstaff at this restaurant didnt want anything to do with us, even though most of the parents were drinking and spending money. (i dropped $75 for 2 people, everyone spent roughly the same amount since we were drinking so we were definately spending money) We had a much better experience for a team lunch at the restaurant right next door, the Sportsman Grille. We showed up there and they were very accommodating and friendly to us. I would go there, avoid this Timberlodge
