I've eaten at the downtown location many times. This was the first time at Tonka location and everything was solid as usual. And to be honest ive never tried anything besides breakfast and burgers. Both are top notch. But seriously, these guys make bada$$ burgers. Like knock your socks off burgers. Do yourself a favor and try one.

Enjoyed a dinner there tonight. Very good service coupled with great food. Had the smoked prime rib and will return.

Hmm. I'm glad I did not read the prior negative reviews because it may have disuaded us from visiting Ike's. Apparently, they have worked out their initial opening kinks. We had nothing but attentive (and non-intrusive) and professional service - they even voluntarily (without asking) split the kids meals in half for our two kids. The burgers were great and they have a nice selection of half-bottles of wine in the event that you might just want two glasses to share. All in all a nice experience and it will become a regular neighborhood spot for us. ** not sure why my above review was 'filtered'. It was not solicited by the restaurant and I have no interest in posting a good review other than honestly explaining our experience. It's too bad because this was my first review on Yelp (likely one of the factors in being filtered), but Yelp has lost any credibility in my opinion. good luck to the readers.

Visit Mikey and Billy in the bar before hand if possible. Generous pours and fun, friendly attitude. As for apps, the deviled eggs are fun. I've had the table side guacamole and it's solid as well. Pot stickers are good even if they feel a little out of place on this menu. Their burgers are top notch. I've also had good luck with the ribs and prime rib on weekends.

Ike's in Minnetonka just opened and being right down the street we were very excited to get a baby sitter and head on over for a nice meal. The website and menu made everything look good. We arrived last night (Sunday) at a little after 5 and were seated right away. Once sat it took a few minutes for our server to come greet us. Another couple for him to come back and take drink order. Five minutes later we get our water. Couple more minutes we get the Bloody Mary ordered. We put in our order of Spring Rolls for appetizer and small salad and meatloaf for me, salad and wings for her. The Spring Rolls came out and they were seemingly deep fried. A lot harder and hotter than you'd want. The taste of them was pretty bad. Gamey! We both spit it out and gave it back to our server when he checked on us. He was nice enough to take it off the bill. The salad's then came our a few minutes later. We loved the salads. Her Caesar was great with good mixture of dressing, cheese and croutons. My side salad was damn good. I got the ranch dressiing and enjoyed it very much. When our salads were dropped I asked for a Strawberry shake. Before we finished our salads the entrees came out. She didn't care for the wings. She felt that they must have been pre fried and fried again. She thinks they did that to the Spring Rolls as well. My Meatloaf was served with garlic mashed potatoes. The Meatloaf was wrapped in bacon and was tasty. The sauce was tangy and sweet. Maybe too sweet. I like it but wouldn't order it again. She didn't even eat three wings she thought that little and I at most of the meatloaf but the potatoes were just okay. I pushed my plate away and we sat there for a minute or two when he came to check on us. Remembered that I ordered a shake and checked to see if it was ready. Apparently shakes take 15 minutes to make. So he apologized and brought the shake. It was REAL good, I just wish it had come so I could enjoy it with my meal. So we skipped dessert because honestly couldn't get the awful taste of the Spring Rolls off our palates. I actually got a bad stomach ache from them and needed to use the men's room. Wow!!! There were like 10 flies buzzing around. I even saw two of them mating with each other. Flies on top of flies. Really gross. We had a good laugh about it afterwards. We will give this place one more try because maybe we just had a bad experience. It can happen to the best of them. I feel there is a lot on the menu I would like to try. However, based on our visit I would not recommend anyone to go as the service was awful, timing of food bad, food itself was marginal and it didn't seem clean. Hopefully our next visit is better and I can post positive review. Hope this helps.

What of my favorite in the lake area. Wonderful staff, meals are very good. Love the deviled eggs.

This place is AWESOME. The food never dissapoints, especially love their Salmon and Italian sub. Bartender Billy is a nice guy who knows how to mix a drink as well. Always a go to when in Minnetonka!

Leslie is a Great server! We came here for brunch on a Sunday. We've driven by no less than 12,000 times but never came in. First, I'll say, I was a bit surprised. I was expecting an American style gastro pub atmosphere but walked into a charming old New York/Chicago style Italian supper club feeling. The interior is beautiful. Once the shock wore off we were seated in a great little booth adjacent to the windows to the kitchen. We were greeted by Leslie promptly and coffee and an awesome Bloody were on the way. High marks for the bloody. Coffee was fantastic! We put in our order for the breakfast sandwich and French toast. Then came the complimentary cinnamon roll. YUM! Our breakfast sandwich was great! The French toast could have had a little more sweetness to it but still good. Overall food was a 4/5. Price was a little on the steep side: $45ish for two with the Bloody Mary. The ambiance and amazing service made the experience. The food was good. The chocolate chip cookies after the meal was a great touch! Being close to the chef, I'd definitely try one of the salads that kept coming off the line during our visit. They looked awesome! If you're looking for a fun stop for brunch, give it a shot. I'm now interested in trying the Prime Rib on Fridays and Saturdays for dinner!

We had a phenomenal experience last night at Ike's due, primarily, to their great staff. We ordered the New York Strip and the chicken chopped salad. The salad was delicious, highly recommended if you enjoy a good chopped salad! The NY Strip came out and was way over done... Immediately, our server noticed the mistake and went to the kitchen to have the steak recooked to the requested temp of medium rare. The manager returned with our server, an entirely new steak entree prepared, and apologized profusely. We were so impressed by their quick, efficient, and polite response, that it really did make our meal more enjoyable. In addition, another manager stopped by and apologized as well. We were well taken care of, and the staff truly made it a worth while experience. The steak ended up being great, and we will definitely be returning again!

The 4-stars is for their crab cakes - super good. Ryan was not kidding when he said the crab cakes compared to Oceanaire's. He was very friendly as our server. The cocktail was forgettable, as were the deviled eggs. Salad was a generous portion with avocado dressing which may have been a great concept but should have been abandoned after putting it together - I would not have known the dressing contained avocado if I had not read it in the menu, This was a convenient place for me to meet my friends so I did not pay much attention to the ambiance.

We had a family reunion dinner . . 4 generations and total of 12 people on a busy Friday night. Truly extra-ordinary service as they had crayons, etc for the kids set us as we got there and immediately brought drinks ( loved the Aviator) and great guacamole and fresh chips baskets for the table. Did not seat anyone around our group on a busy night and we loved the privacy for talking. Great menu as it appealed to everyone from really good ribs, to yummy hamburgers, flatbreads and lots of sides to choose from. Fun supper club atmosphere and we can not say enough good things about our dinners, the outstanding service and great atmosphere. We can't wait to go back. . in fact, we are going back tonight to celebrate a friends birthday.

Ooooook. I've been there several times before, and it's been ok/convenient, but after tonight I will not be going again any time soon. Not worth it. We ordered several small things, but for 3 people, $130 was a lot for the quality of what we got. The food was fine, but there are of dozens of other places at the top of my mind where I can get better food, better experience, for much cheaper. Service was extra crazy slow throughout the evening, and they were not busy. We were drinking martinis. I received a martini with red lipstick all over the glass. It happens. I get it. No biggie. Really...give me a fresh one and we are fine. But then when my Mom ordered one, hers had red lipstick on the glass as well. I'm going to bet it was the same glass. It was the end of the meal, but we waited quite a while to let the server know that there was sloppiness happening, a broken dishwasher, something.... But she never came back. Ok. Ran to the ladies room before we left. It's an open kitchen...it looked to me like our server was camped out sitting on the floor of the kitchen. Aaaand I'm done.

They have a fantastic brunch and perfect Bloody Marys. Can't speak to lunch or dinner, as I haven't been fortunate enough to experience it. Go and enjoy!

The day was snowy, but it was warm and cozy inside Ike's. All of the games were tuned to Vikings football and the booth we had in the bar area was a perfect vantage point. We opted to try the deviled eggs- very delicious and with a kick of spice, but I think that their refrigeration was a bit high since some of the egg white seemed to be on the verge of freezing- the crunch wasn't the crispy onion alone. I got the Caesar which was nice. Hubby got the burger which was lovely. Top it all off with a decent strawberry milkshake and we have a solid performer for Minnetonka crowds. We will be back again- perhaps for the Sunday brunch which looked delicious!

Totally surprised by how great everything was on New Year's Eve. Some of the best prime rib ever, excellent appetizers.

Came here before getting trapped in a room with a zombie. My boyfriend and I don't venture out into Minnetonka much because we don't need too, but we had a great experience at Ike's. The interior was so cute. The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing. It wasn't too busy when we got there and we were seated right away. Our server was friendly. We ordered the torpedo burger and the steak sandwich(?). The torpedo burger is HUGE. So beware. But my boyfriend said it was good. I really enjoyed my steak. Food came out fast. Portions are large and the fries were crispy and seasoned deliciously! It was a little pricey, but overall it was a great experience.

The food deserves five stars, but the kitchen was so slow that I have to deduct a star. Lobster corn dogs were a standout appetizer. Burgers were huge and the blue plate special Filet Oscar was extremely good.

Mother's Day Brunch. Well, first of all, Sunday Brunch is absolutely amazing. Second of all, LARGE PORTIONS! We have gone here on consecutive Mother's Day occasions and will be back for a third. In the mean time, I will be frequently attending brunch events on their extended patio - which is very nice when you're on your way to-or-from Lake Minnetonka/Excelsior over the weekend. I highly suggest trying their weekend brunch!

We have visited Ike's as many as a dozen times, and really enjoy this restaurant. It's nice to have a good restaurant in the neighborhood. The food is consistently good. We enjoy the turkey dinner, the burgers and the appetizers. Everything seems homemade and is quite tasty. Portions are ample. I think dinners could easily be split, if you're not overly hungry. Drinks are good and well priced. They have a variety of liquors, including Tito's vodka.Happy hour wines are good quality wines. It can be difficult to get a seat in the bar during happy hour, so send someone early to get a table. Happy hour appetizers, such as deviled eggs, are quite good. I recommend this restaurant. I'm not sure I'd drive from St. Paul to get here, but certainly western suburb residents should check it out.

I was very excited to have one of my favorite burger/brunch place open in Minnetonka (I have frequented the airport and Minneapolis location). My family stopped here on a Friday night at 5:30 for an early dinner. It was very busy and we waited about 25 minutes for a table. Once seated, the service seemed very disorganized and incredibly slow. We should've known better since the restaurant had only opened 9 days before and clearly hadn't worked the kinks out. It took about 45 minutes for hubs to get a drink while there, we learned the patio didn't serve food and the bar outside only accepted cash. They let us know that the bar was self seated, we found a booth in the bar and then told us we couldn't sit as that area needed to be seated from the hostess. It was a total mess. We ordered several apps as we caught the tail end of their happy hour. I can't complain (too much) about the prices since they had $3 tap beers/house wines and half off all flatbreads and small plates. We got the lobster corn dogs (the seafood was tasty but the batter was soggy), the chips and guac (meh), the mushroom fontina flatbread (bland and lack of ingredients) and wood oven roasted mussels and clams (descent). We learned while we were there that there was a big football game nearby (Minnetonka vs. Wayzata) and that contributed to the "craziness" of the restaurant. I hope that Ike's can up their game as I think this is a great addition to Minnetonka.

Why is this place famous? We went with some friends and dropped a whole lot of money for not a lot of food. My husband's pork chop was the worst he'd ever had at a restaurant--dry and tasteless. My friend and I ordered steaks but they didn't arrive with salads, even though the menu said salads included. Our waiter told us the salad was an extra cost. The meat was "meh." We went home and ate some chips afterwards. I don't see what the appeal is here.

New business location 11 days young. Passion is clear with staff and food WILL be, at some point, exceptional. In the meantime, there are learning's to be had with the chef. I suggest food questioned/ should be tasted to learn. I have high expectations hence 4 stars because of service. The tomato salad was tops. Next time I come I will do more in depth as I eat entrees not small plates. Mike and Cody awesome as well as blond, shame on me, never learned name. 5/2013 Several more visits and as expected, kitchen execution has warmed up and worked out bumpy details. The "Thanksgiving entrée of turkey/ potato/dressing in a comfort food presentation is a good example of a good formula executed well; albeit safe. I liked it. Weekend Brunch choices of eggs/meats/ pastries/ etc. warmed my heart in the early part of weekend days and the outstanding Bloody Mary's were designed to make me have 2 before 2pm! -rare.Also have tried the apps which best I can say were more than adequate; please keep finding unique and special plates that aren't seen everywhere on menus. I anticipate a more creative future with the menu and hope that Ike's takes some risks with terrific execution to continue the success shown so far. I have seen 3 restaurants come and go (location, location, location) and Ike's has the best chance of becoming the best anchor in Minnetonka with some sculpting of continued menu development. Service has always been terrific- best I have had in the entire area and my experience has been a higher grade of commitment than expected; a real strong feature to anchor into the future. Great passion, staff as a team, and warm from the "hello", especially the bar which I frequent the most. As an overall, I look forward to the evolution of the west suburb Ike's...Best of luck.

Wow! What a great place to hang out at. Arrived in time for a Saturday happy hour while waiting for a table. Mike the bartender is worth the time alone. Very honest and attentive. Burger for dinner in the diner was AMAZING! Every bite was juicy and delicious. Only problem was first order of fries came out a little uncooked, but was quickly corrected. Not as nice as downtown, but worth the drive.

I was so disappointed when I went here on Saturday night. There was no wait around 7 which was nice so we were sat right away. But it took the server over ten minutes to come to the table (we had to grab someone that was walking by) and when he finally came he didn't apologize, just asked 'did you guys decide?'. We saw our server maybe twice after that, ordering drinks from the server that dropped our food off. The food was okay, nothing special, but by that point we were really disappointed in the experience. We will never return to this establishment.

The concept of this place is great but it needs some time to work out the kinks. Initial drinks, appetizer, soups and salads, and main course all served within 5 minutes of each other. This place is small and will only make money turning tables, but my expectations are higher for Saturday night dining. I will try again in three months... maybe...

Their ribs made both me and my daughter physically ill. After emailing to complain, was promised a refund and gift certificate as an apology. Neither was issued. Followed up and was again promised refund and gift card. They never sent it. I now go out of my way to make sure people know that this place sucks. Go spend your money someplace else.

Wow. My wife and I counted 1 server for Valentines Day lunch. Plus, the server had no joy in their work. Took a good 7-8 minutes to get drinks ordered. Then 15 more for our food order. The menu says "Just fried chips with housemade salsa." They were served barely warm with no oil sheen that would be evident in "just fried." Salsa was way too tomatoey and lacked every other ingredient that you'd expect in "housemade" salsa. My burger was very good. Andy's Kitchen was done to temp and had great flavor. It was served with decent cowl slaw and a generous portion of COLD shoestring fries. Unbelievable. I can imagine the kitchen manager plating them up hoping they don't get sent back. And because our server had little or no interest in our experience, they were right. We told our server of the cold fries when they brought the check. It was met with a meek and disingenuous "sorry about that." Bad day to have a bad day Ike's.

Pleasantly Surprised by the fact that it was good. Salad was fresh and tasty. Pretty standard and predictable menu, but executed well, if over priced.

This place has definitely stepped up its game compared to the months after they first opened. A year ago they were wildly inconsistent in both food and service. In the meantime, they've pared down the menu to items they're genuinely good at making and service is personable and efficient. The bartenders are great. It's become a fun and vibrant place and it's now in our regular rotation for meals or just drinks and appetizers on a weekend afternoon.

This has the same menu as downtown. Great food and really good service when I went for a lunch meeting. The manager came around to check on us as well. Minnetonka needs this kind of a place bad. So much bad food or chain type restaurants in Minnetonka. Good place to watch a game and good food. I will be back again!

  • Jon S.

The burger was to greasy for 15 dollars, and your going to have beer in the menu you should have it in stock! To sum it up the prices are to high for what it is, and the cooks and servers need some training.

So terribly disappointed in the bartender acting as tonight's overall manager. Spent $60 at bar then went to table. Ordered a nice bottle of wine that they ended up being out of/didn't have. (After looking at wine menu for 10 minutes) really ? no notice? Bartender/manager on duty offered no upgrade at same price. Ordered a different bottle for more money, the 4 of us drank it- ordered another bottle and after 10 minute delay- they were out of it after the 1 bottle. In the meantime our app got cold waiting for the sauce. Really off their game I guess. So asked the waitress Jill for a manager saying you're out of two bottles we've asked for- shouldn't we be offered a better bottle for the same price? You'd think we we're asking for the moon and stars! This place that gives 1/2 off any bottle on Sunday. Guess they should be closed on Monday waiting for inventory according to the "Manager" slash bartender! This place doesn't deserve the name Ike's! We will not be back. Amateur hour!

OK - had I rated this Ike's based on my first 2 experiences when they first opened, I would've given it 2 stars at best. Since then, I've tried it again 3 or 4 times and most recently for their brunch. It may be that we just figured out the good things to get and pretty much get those consistently which pretty much boils down to their chopped salad and burgers. In particular they have a roadhouse steak burger that is out of this world HUGE but also incredibly, decadently delicious. There is no possible way I can finish more than about 1/3 of it but my husband can finish off the entire thing. It is one of the best burgers I've ever had hands down. As for the brunch, we had our first experience this past weekend. When you sit down, they bring out this HUGE, just baked pecan cinnamon roll that is absolutely delicious. Be disciplined and only eat a couple of bites or you will ruin your appetite for any other food. My husband got the all you can eat brunch option for $17 which was very reasonable for the quality, amount and variety of food he got. He started with the eggs benedict (which I thought were just OK - the hollandaise had little to no flavor and I got the sense it was not homemade). His eggs came with hashbrowns, bacon, sausage and pancakes. He got a second round and had the scrambled eggs with cream cheese (delicious) and some extra pancakes and sausage. I ordered the breakfast flat bread that was perfect. Everything you want from breakfast on a really light, flaky and cripy flatbread crust. It had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, red onions and some type of chipotle cream sauce which didn't taste very spicy or like chipotle but added a nice creaminess along with the cheese they added. A must order in the future and the flatbread crust is so good I will for sure try their other non-breakfast flatbread choices. Needless to say, we pretty much rolled ourselves out the door and finished our brunch by 11 a.m and literally didn't have to eat the rest of the day. Good, local staple restaurant once you know what to order and stick with.

Excellent service, but not-so-great overpriced food. The service was fantastic, the hostess, our waiter, the people clearing our plates, all were just great. Very attentive without being overbearing. The food though, left something to be desired. Fattiest pork I can remember having at restaurant in a long time and certainly not expected from one of this caliber. Other food was OK, but highly priced vs comparable level restaurants. Will not be going back, can do better for the money at restaurants of same level. Have been to the airport and downtown locations, this location is not up to par.
