Wow I had a 1/4 pounder with everything on it. It was a life changing event! This is one of the best places to eat in town. The owner is there working every day and the food is superb. This is where I bring all my friends to eat downtown.

Best dogs that I have found downtown. Its located in the Northstar building near the entrance to the Crowne Plaza. I am pretty much a chili dog guy, but the Chicago dogs looked pretty good from what I saw being made.

One of the pleasures of eating lunch Downtown is discovering neat little places like the Walkin Dog. I got 2 ballpark style hot dogs and a caramel shake. The hot dogs tasted good, nothing extraordinary but the shake was fantastic, better than a DQ thats for sure. It was mixed in an old school malt mixer which is the best way, and was nice and thick, and nice and cold. This was the best shake I've had in awhile and I got a 20 oz one here for under 3 bucks, which is a steal for this kind of shake. I'll be trying out their Chicago Style hot dog made with Vienna Beef next time I'm here, I'll let you know how it is. Unfortunately though, this place, like many Skyway type shops closes by 4 PM, and isn't open at all on the weekend. I actually got here maybe 10 minutes before closing, and was very impressed with the customer service. Really nice guy, didn't seem to mind at all that I came in when I did.

I love hot dogs! Especially chili dogs! Today I was introduced to one of the best chili dogs I've ever had. The name of the place - Walkin' Dog. I like mine with cheese, mustard, onions and chili, and maybe a little Frank's hot sauce (when my stomach can handle it). So today at the Walkin' Dog I had three ball park dogs with Chili, Cheese, and Mustard - awesome. They used shredded cheese and not cheese sauce, which is perfect, and a good amount of mustard and chili. They use Vienna Beef dogs and warmed poppy seed buns, and have a great variety of toppings and styles (like the Chicago). The only thing that kept Walkin' Dog from earning 5 stars was the chili. I like Coney Island style without beans, and if they upgraded it'd be one of the best dogs around!

When I'm in the office this is the only place I'll generally eat. Its about a 15 minute walk from the office and I stumbled on it accidentally, and I'm sure glad I did. There is always some sort of daily special so eating there is always really affordable. Chicago style dogs is all I've ever done there and they are nearly perfect. The only complaints are sometimes the guy puts a little to much celery salt on the dogs and the dogs themselves could be warmer.

Great spot if you are in a hurry. Was great in the 90's and amazingly nothing has changed! That isn't a criticism. You know what you are going to get, and you get it fast.

This is a great hole in the skyway wall lunch spot that I forget about far too often. As the name implies, known for their chicago dogs. Good stuff and definitely satisfies the craving. I'm always all about the sweets - and the hidden gem of this spot are the shakes and malts. Chocolate butterscotch. Peanut butter chocolate. Caramel. And more. Pretty economical for the location. Give it a shot.

This is a great small place inside the Northstar Centre. It's small hole in the wall but the hot dogs are very good and the prices are very reasonable. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone but a word of caution is that the cheese curds are pretty awful (freezer burned taste and non-crispy exterior) and don't bother with the malts, he tends to not add enough malt to make it any different from a shake and also tends to be inadequate with the flavourings. I had a strawberry and halfway through, I didn't even notice a difference between vanilla and strawberry. Long and short, grab a hot dog and a drink, get the rest of your meal somewhere else.

Dogs are excellent and at a good price for downtown. Check out the shakes and malts which keep me and others coming back.

Who would have thought that a hotdog place could be so damn good! I typically will get the chili dog... I don't know what it is about that place, but it makes me soooooo hungry! Love going there with friends or coworkers, it's a fun atmosphere and it always seems to be pretty busy! But you get through the line quickly, cuz lets be honest, it's pretty easy to prepare a hotdog ;-)

Last night I had a "pantry-to-floor" incident with a jar of sauerkraut. Today, telling the story, I had a pretty primal need to go have cylindrical steak with kraut. Enter the Walkin' Dog. It is exactly what it needs to be. There are multiple choices for dogs and toppings and they have daily specials for things on the cheap. I haven't had a malt yet, but the malt of the week this week was Peanut-butter Chocolate and I thought about it. They have good Chicago dogs as well with Vienna Beef dogs and the poppy seed roll. The chili is hind of heavy handed with the beans. It's OK on a dog, but I wouldn't eat a bowl of it. Overall, a good hot dog experience and a great way to quell kraut urges.

I'm in love with this little hole-in-the-wall, no-frills hot dog stand. Blindly following my pregnancy cravings (Chicago dog, STAT!), I took the time out of my day to Google "chicago dog minneapolis." And lo, here's Walkin' Dog a mere two buildings away from my workplace. It's tucked into a corner of the Northstar Building's street level food court (I had no idea all that stuff was in there). The guy was a little heavy handed with the celery salt, but otherwise they've got all the fixin's for a Chicago dog situation. O sweet, sweet fluorescent relish. O pickle spear. O brown mustard. My fetus and my hormones thank you. Because it's "Wiener Wednesday" I got my dog, a bag of Doritos, and a Cherry coke for $3.25, including tax. Today I am truly a wiener winner. Bonus: check the website for the full and awesome menu.

On the ground floor of my office building is this little food court area. We have Chinese, pizza and hot dogs. Not just any hot dogs but Walkin' Dogs. This place could rival even the best hot dog vendor in NYC (you know what I'm talkin' about). Not only do they do great hot dogs they also make great malts. The peanut butter chocolate is my favorite. I only allow myself one a year and it never disappoints. If you want an affordable lunch look no further.

Stellar dogs and Dāv, the owner, is always there cranking out dogs to order. He's a true dog pro, even without an umbrella and wheels. Plus you don't have to suffer inclimate weather to get your dog and malt on!

Exactly what you'd expect. Their Chicago Dog is right on point. "Dragged through the garden" is spot on. Price is great too. Tuesday get one half off with the purchase of one at full price. I'm pretty certain this place will soon become a staple for me. Would definitely recommend.
