Stopped by on a whim, was shopping next door and the smell of the sauce wafting they the air was an immediate draw. Sat down in the cozy dining space and perused the more significant menu than expected from the outside looking in. Ordered garlic cheese bread to snack on whole deciding on dinner items, arrived quickly and a good sized portion, with a side of this heavenly red sauce. Decided on a house pizza and rigatoni with meatballs to share with dear hubby. Yum, yum and a side of yum. Hand tossed crust on the pizza, just right crispy and doughy, excellent bubbly and cheesy goodness. Rigatoni was finished in the oven, lots of cheese and more than enough for the two of us. Got to try a taste of the Alfredo sauce and wow...going to have a hard time deciding what to eat next. Great place for a family dinner, bite out with friends or quiet date night. Fun and quirky.

Horrible experience and customer service, but a-okay pizza! I called to place a delivery order and I was quoted 45 minutes for delivery. I told the dispatcher to cancel my order because I felt the wait was too long. She then replied back and asked me what I thought would be a more appropriate time and I said 30 minutes and gladly said "I accept the challenge!". Well I waited close to 43 minutes to eat my pizza. I called back to informed them that I waited that long and her response was "we tried our best, but what do you want me to do about it?". I just told her to have a nice night. By the way I would choose Divanni's Pizza over there deep dish!

Good American style pizza here. I was looking for a local shop that delivers and this place hit the spot. I got a small deep dish BBQ Pizza, an Oreo pie desert, and a half gallon of 1919 root beer. The Pizza was nicely sized even for a small. What confused me is that the pizza was uncut. Why would someone want a 9" deep dish pizza uncut? The pizza was delivered to me away from home, and guess what, I had no pizza cutting device. Oh well good thing I'm a pizza animal and just tore pieces off. If you get the 1919 root beer delivered, watch out because the bottles like to expand and eventually burst due to the carbonation. It is good root beer but not fun to clean up.

This place beats all the chain pizza restaurants. I ordered a deep dish Greek special. It's deep dish, but it's not super deep. It's not Chicago deep. Still, the crust is pretty delicious. Unfortunately, the toppings were a bit sparse, probably not the freshest and the whole thing seemed really salty. When the overriding spice in a food is salt, I'm generally not that psyched. Was quoted a delivery time of 50 minutes It actually took over an hour. No big deal on a weekend night I guess.

We ordered a deep dish chef's pizza and were hoping for a true deep dish style pizza with too much sauce and a thick thick crust. Unfortunately that was not what we got. it is a typical american style pizza place, the deep dish was just more dough then the hand tossed (I think we would have preferred ordering hand tossed). For the price it was a great deal since it is pretty cheap, but it is overall fairly average. The service though is great! The people who work there are very kind and thoughtful, they let us use a coupon even after we had ordered and forgot to mention it. I like it since it is a small place around the corner from us. We'll probably go back if we feel like a easy meal around the corner.

Dined in several times and the experience has been consistent. Good food but uneven service. Each time something or the other has been off - wrong pizza, slow to get cutlery, lost pizza (some one took ours). But a family friendly place with decent pizza including some topping choices that keep things interesting. Their special pizzas are good (not the fusion type, which is a nice change) and well portioned.

We ordered delivery from Michelangelo's because we had a buy one get one half off coupon, which we thought sounded like a pretty good deal. The specialty pizza menu was not as varied as other local places (Lola or Luce) but it seems to me that this is because Michelangelo's really focuses on the basics. A really great cheesey, meat covered pizza. We ordered a hand tossed Hawaiian pizza with bacon and a thin crust specialty pizza with Tomato, Basil and Garlic. I liked that the thin crust was light and crispy and their selection of an olive oil based sauce instead of marinara was a nice contrast to the traditional pizza we got. I liked that they added entire pieces of bacon to the Hawaiian, which was a complete upgrade from the bacon bits I was expecting. Next time I hope I can try their take on deep dish with a meat lover style pizza, because that's what they do best.

So relieved to find this Thursday night savior in the midst of the weekly convergence of schlepping kids and crap and even crappier delivery options in Edina. These guys make a healthy pie that parents will love. Terrific service (a real person at the restaurant answers the phone), and--I didn't drug test anybody, but--a uniquely pot-free delivery driver never makes you feel like your home might be his next burglary. Great pie, great place! My pizza night go-to!

We LOVE their hand-tossed pizza!! We tried them on a whim and have continued to order delivery. We served pizzas to 10 of our son's friends, and the comments were all positive --- all eaten!! Sad to hear others have had a bad experience, but many are old posts.

It's ok pizza. Not terrible but not as good as Lake Harriet. I grew up on Chicago thin crust pizza so my bar is set pretty high. I recommend giving it a shot. We like it, just not as much as some others in the area.

Best service I have ever had! Zach is the kind of guy that makes you appreciate neighborhood restaurants and that Minnesota nice mentality. Food rocks too try the artichoke dip!

Listen, I am not MAD at this place. Seriously, there is no emotion there at all....exactly the issue. I remember eating it thinking, meh. MEH! Maybe we just ordered wrong, we went basic since we had a little group of less complex eaters. As I ate I thought to myself, I guess I am not hungry anymore. There is just SO many options around this area for pizza, I would chose a place I know is amazing. Maybe we ordered wrong, bc people on this page seem to heart this place...meh.

Good food good service. I like that you can bring your own beer or wine to drink with dinner as they don't serve it.

I'm giving Michelangelo's four stars and that is still bringing it's rating down...gotta say something. Anyway, I've been going to Michelangelo's since I was a child and I have to say, the pizza has only gotten better. REAL toppings with REAL pizza dough makes for a great pie. Not much more I can say about pizza that would make you go. So, while we're on the topic, try the Root Beer....

I think this pizza is very good! Fresh classic Italian pizza. For classic pizza might be the best I have ever had. We have eaten here only a few times but every time we leave I wonder why we don't eat at Michelangelo's more often. The best part is if you eat in you can bring your own bottle of wine in and they give you glasses and a wine key. Trust me give this pizza a try!

We ordered the Shrimp Bacon and Pesto Pizza for delivery and it came really fast! We were quoted a 30-45 min. wait and the pizza arrived in 20-25 minutes! That is great service in my book. The pizza was good, I love pesto and shrimp together and the bacon just took it up another notch. We got the thin crust pizza and the crust was nice and crunchy and perfectly charred. My one complaint was the pizza was pretty small for the $15 we were charged. I would have liked more pizza for that much money. Michelangelo's is a great option if your looking for quick delivery and great pesto in the Southwest area.

Pretty easy to navigate their online menu, although I wish they had more specialty pizza choices. I ordered a small Greek salad and Mexican pizza. I know, I know, don't judge me. The salad was okay, could have used more feta. The pizza was pretty good. The service was outstanding; the driver was fast and polite. I would order from here again.

Stopped in last night for a quick bit to eat before a night out with friends. Four of us ate for less the $35. The food was great and service was fantastic. Not to mention they ran out of the restaurant to tell me I forgot my phone on the table. Thanks again and we'll be back soon.

Usually we order delivery from Dulono's but we just realized this little shop was nearby AND delivered to our house. Tonight was the night to try it. I used their online system to order. The pizza and garlic-cheese bread arrived in a reasonable time and the delivery guy was friendly even when our dog was startled and barked at him. The cheese bread (or "toast", I think it's called on their menu) was good but not fantastic. However, I ordered marinara sauce for dipping, and the sauce was AMAZING; the combination of the bread and marinara was quite tasty. The actual pizza was yummy and we liked the crust, too. We're going to add this place to our list of "good pizza places which deliver". Nice to have an option.

Great pizza at a great price! Very cozy family atmosphere, unless you get the booth by the door on a cold night. Best sauce around! Bring your own beer or wine for a nice date night. .......Update........Well, the pizza here is still quite good, but it really seems that over the last year or so they are having a lot of problems keeping enough staff on to handle their business properly. Eating in sometimes results in a long wait for service and for food, and ordering to pick up sometimes results in a very long delay and the wrong pizza. It's happened to us enough and over a long enough period of time that it's worth mentioning in this update. It's still above average pizza, but they are not as reliable as most of the other pizza places in the area. I hope they get it straightened out soon!

First of, the place is really small, 2 booths, 2 high tables and 2 low tables, and outdoor seating for 2. They do have take out and it wasn't busy when we ate in on a Saturday night. We ordered the garlic bread which was really nice and fluffy and crunchy; not overloaded with butter. The marinara sauce is thick and slightly sweet. (They add honey and pine nuts to their home made sauce!) Our pizza was thin crust veg, 1/2 with sausage for my meat eating boyfriend. There were plenty of veggies and cheese without overdoing it. We ate 2/3 of a large pizza between just the 2 of us. It was a really nice atmosphere with great service, quaint and relaxed. Go with kids and a small party of friends. They have some games; we played a game of checkers while waiting for our pizza ... I won of course. They also have 1919 root beer on tap and they sell jugs of it you can take home. In the end our tab was ridiculously small. It was only $29 for garlic bread, large pizza, side salad, and drink. Very reasonable. I heard you can bring your own wine with no corking fee (per a fellow yelp review, but we didn't try it this time)

Love this place. It's a hidden treasure in SW Minneapolis/Edina. THin crust and good sauce.

Very Good! Local Pizza place (not a chain), and very reasonable. I have ordered from and ate in many times at Michelangelos, and have continiously had great experiences. Their pizzas are good quality, with good ingredients and very reasonable. You can get a Large Pepperoni special for $9.99. That is basically the same price as Pizza Hut and the quality blows away any chain. The inside is very small- A few booths and a few tables. It very kid friendly ( they have kids colorings on a whole wall and have games). Their service is quick however, and you know you'll get treated well.

Michelangelo's is a sweet little place on 50th and Xerxes. Being the only restaurant in the 3 block radius I've ordered from there several times for take-out. Their pizza's are great, and fresh! I've also had the South Side Hoagie which is cheesily delicious if I could say so. I believe it's also a family run business which kind of rules. The seating inside always looks comfy too.

I do not understand how this place has such high ratings the service was terrible, and the food wasn't good enough to make up for the lousy service. It took the "waitress" 10 minutes to take our drink order and then another 10 minutes to get us our drinks. Let me make it clear that my tables was ONE of THREE tables dining in at this point. We then had to ask for our salads to remind them that we ordered them. They then gave us the excuse that the kitchen was backed up.... I understand that this seems to be a popular place for take-out but you can not put the take out service above the diners. Our waitress was completely unfamiliar with the menu and forgot several "side" things we asked for such as refills on our drinks, dressing, and more sauce. I could go on and on but basically I would not recommend this place at all. The pizza was pretty good but it seemed like they used store bought pie crust for their calzones but it does not make up for the terrible service.

Ordered Saturday Special, large two topping pizza, garlic cheese bread, pitcher of pop. Substituted two 1919 Root Beers for the pitcher. Wi-Fi locked and password did not work. Two other tables with diners, but service was slow. Appetizer and pizza arrived at the same time, though both were hot. Too much garlic on the appetizer. Hand-tossed pizza crust was unremarkable, too much flour. Pizza sauce was a bit sweet. Family with three small kids at one table appeared to have a good time.

The restaurant is on the border of Edina and Minneapolis area. In the vicinity of Edina Theater and whatnot. You could easily pass by and not think twice about a pizza place right there. It's also a small restaurant so, it could easily be missed. Which is too bad, because the pizza there is delicious. Not only does it taste good, it looks good too. We had the BBQ Chicken pizza and the Chef's special which included sausage, black olives, mushrooms and lots of cheese. They both were very tasty and I would recommend people try their pizza. It's a warm and inviting place. Great place to bring a date, your kids or a group of people. Just limit the size of your group. It is quite small, and you are close to your neighbor, but it shouldn't stop you from getting some delicious pizza.

We usually order from Lake Harriet pizza but gave this a shot after getting a Crowd Cut coupon. I think we are now converts. Love their Tomato/Basil/Garlic pizza. We have eaten there and also had delivery. Have never been disappointed. Also, really great because you can bring your own wine and the corking fee is cheap. Fun date spot.
