Can't say much for anything but the food, as I had carryout, but the filet was incredible. Better than the Metropolitan Grill in Seattle, Micky Mantle's in Oklahoma, and Ruth's Chris or House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. Amazing steak - incredibly juicy and flavorful, perfect quality meat - no toughness. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.

Rating 2.5 Well I was pretty disappointed in stopping in here today. We swung in at 11:00am for a nice lunch. I already figured I would have the Prime Burger after previewing the menu online, so it was a easy menu choice for me. My wife chose the Steak Sandwich and off we were. The place is pretty fancy with white linen and all, but it was dead. Maybe two other tables with people at them. The waitress was very nice and the staff very pleasant. We got a complimentary cinnamon pastry with warm caramel topping. It was delicious. The food arrived quickly and we jumped in. We both ordered fries with our meal. The fries were crispy and tasted fine. Nothing special. The biggest problem with them was that a third of them were fused together in a clump. You had to tear them apart to eat them. Fail #1. I ordered my burger medium and there was nary any pink meat to be found. Fail #2. And finally, the bun was super dry. It was literally crumbing apart as I was eating the burger. Fail #3. I mean for a place like this, it is almost seems inexcusable. The bar was set pretty high walking in here, and it was a big bummer. The taste of the burger was alright, nothing spectacular about it. My wife's sandwich was better. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked (medium). With all the fixings on, she was expecting more flavor. Kind of blah. Overall, great service. The food, not so much. Maybe dinner is a different experience, but for lunch, it was not that good.

I love this place, not for the food, which is gray but for the experience. We travel to all the Viking home games we stop in pregame for a mimosa or bloody mary but the best is after the games, we are not big W hotel fans so we stay a couple of blocks away yet we love to come sit at the bay and talk with fans about the game and watch the Sunday night game. Its fun stop in if you have time

Mac n Cheese at the bar with a deep red Zin. That's what I come to Manny's for and I'm always happy. A slip out in the Living Room or Prohibition in the Foshay Tower / W Hotel afterwards for a night cap is always a nice bonus to.

Where to start......? Manny's provided the death nail for me when it comes to steak houses. If you go through my reviews you will find I love steak. However, at the end of the day there are about 5 steak houses/restaurants in the country that are truly worth it. Most, like Manny's subscribe to the enormous portions, low quality, extremely over priced formula. Manny's is a tourist trap, plain and simple. 90% of the people at Manny's are not paying for their meal, their employer is. This is business dinner central all day long. The noise level on any given night is insufferable. Most of the reviews here are people impressed with the mahogany walls, huge steaks, and endless red wine. While staying at the connecting W hotel I decided to visit Mann'ys. After making my way through the 150 people in the waiting area (9pm on a Tuesday) I finally found a seat at the bar. The Caprese salad was a joke, huge slabs of tomato and mozzarella drowned in balsamic, yet with no flavor. The steak was fine, but nothing great, just an enormous portion. I had an appetizer, steak, and two glasses of wine, my tab $150. I dined by myself!! This restaurant is in Minneapolis, not LA or NYC. Manny's is just everything wrong with the big clunky steak house model. Don't waste your time. Take 5 minutes, use Yelp, and go support a new local place that actually cares about the food and your experience and wont completely gouge you.

So much fun! I mean... SOOOO MUCH FUN! Funny enough, I got here following a pretty hefty HH with appetizers and drinks, so was already in the mood and stomach was all warmed up for the real deal. The atmosphere is brilliant, a vibrant loud (but not too loud) establishment that makes you want to enjoy your dinner. The service was excellent! I love how they display the meat and explain your options with live (yes, live) samples :) Food is delicious. The appetizers were bomb (yes we had more appetizers, couldn't help myself from trying the lobster tail) and the steak (bone-in ribeye) was cooked to perfection. So meat was great (as you would expect), appetizers great... so what is my recommendation? The mash potatoes! No way you go here without eating this side (order a half, the full is HUGE!) I don't know if you guys ever had campfires growing up and cooked potatoes with foil under the fire, but eating the mashed potatoes here took me back 20 years to that magical day in-front of the fire. It was eating and day dreaming at the same time. Amazing. I think this review is already long enough, so all I can say is have fun! enjoy the food and if you don't know what I'm talking about with the campfire potatoes, go make one! :)

I've had dinner at Manny's twice and had lunch there yesterday. The food is always solid and the service is always stellar. Why anyone would go to Ruth's Chris or The Capital Grille when Manny's is around is beyond me.

In a word - Stellar. Spectacular service, amazing food! The filet was melt-in-your mouth fantastic. Hashbrowns - crispy and delicious. Monster asparagus... perfection. Spendy, but so worth it. Recently went to a famous steak house in New York City and spent more and got so much less. They could learn a lot from Manny's - it's how steak should be done.

Everything is bigger in Minneapolis. Be sure to not eat the days before and after this meal. I would recommend ordering the seafood tower as an appetizer (although the oysters aren't the best I've had), and the bone marrow dish. The steaks also are huge and you just have to deal with it because there is not really a lot of options for a smaller size--keep that in mind when you are ordering appetizers. When you ask for medium rare, they make sure that your steak is red and cold in the middle. Sides are also family-style and huge: think basket-sized truffle french fries. Like the main course, the dessert lives up to its reputation of ginormity. We ordered the brownie and it came out in a dinner-sized plate. The Maker's Mark bread pudding came in a big goblet: along with a bottle of maker's. Beware though--when we started taking shots from the bottle, the waiters were not happy.

How can you not like Manny's...yeah it's a little douchy and spendy, but the food and service is usually good to great. We came here for our New Year's Eve dinner, since we were going to be next door for the countdown. We started with scallops benedict and lobster cakes. Lobster cake was good with a little bit of kick to it...I was particularly wow'ed from the the scallops benedict though- huge pieces of scallops (like a damn golf ball) with the rich hollandaise sauce on top and biscuit underneath...I wish I could wake up next to that every morning...no offense wife :) For our entree we did the Bludgeon of Beef...f&%king epic...the name alone sounds like a medieval weapon of some sort...The bone even sticks out like a foot so I probably could strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger...This monstrosity is the 50 oz rib eye. It was well marbleized. Though cooked a little rarer than asked, it was still great tasting...yeah its $85, but when shared, affordable...For a side we had the hash browns, which can feed 4 people and is awesome...Also ordered the cream spinach, which I wasn't really into. My favorite part, was at the end of the night, walking to car, waving the bone in the air like I just don't care!

Classic steakhouse, with great service. The problem is that there nothing really to distinguish this place from any other classic steakhouse. Except the price. Absolutely ungodly overpriced. $45 for the cheapest steak, $90 for others. The portions are enormous you end up wasting over half your meal. The wine list has all the popular names - no creativity here. And every bottle is marked up by a least a factor of 2 relative to other good restaurants. $325 for a Far Niente can? $185 for Silver Oak Alexander Valley? This is gouging at its worst. Many places to have a better meal, great wine and save a few franklins as well.

Went here for the first time last weekend. The food and service was excellent, however it is slightly over-priced. My number one steak house in the cities is Capital Grille, so I obviously compared Manny's to them. In my opinion, the overall quality at Capital Grille is better and you get more for your money. Manny's does have much bigger portions in terms of meat, but it does not justify the price. You really pay for the past reputation and the atmosphere.

The fiance came into a gift card for $150 at Manny's, so we decided we'd give it a shot since we'd both heard lots about the place but considering the prices on their menu, it's not exactly the sort of place we frequent. We made reservations for a Friday night and were promptly seated when we arrived. Our waiter Joel came over and took our drink orders right away. They had an orange whip on the menu so I had to get that just for the Blues Brothers reference. The fiance got a mojito of some sort. We were both very happy with our drinks, they were quite strong, which is a good thing in my opinion. We then moved on to an appetizer, the applewood smoked bacon. We were both intrigued by bacon as an appetizer though we wish we had known that it was a full pound of bacon. It's not really bacon in the thinly sliced breakfast sense of the word, but two big, thick pieces of pork belly. It was outstanding, though between the two of us we didn't eat much since we wanted to have room for dinner. Fortunately the bacon heated up quite nicely the next day at home. For the main course I had the NY strip steak and the fiance had lobster. The steak was as good if not better than any I've had elsewhere, cooked perflectly to medium rare as I requested. The fiance's lobster was good, I'm not a big lobster fan myself but she enjoyed it. Along with the steak and lobster, we had hashbrowns and asparagus. We had a ton of food left over, enough for breakfast, lunch and then some the following day. Overall, it was a great experience. The food was outstanding and the service was great. Yes, it was expensive but we knew that going in. I think we'll start a piggy bank just to fund another trip to Manny's sometime in the future.

Wow! Best steakhouse ever! Came here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night, we had an 8:30 reservation and were a little bit early, but luckily there was a couple seats open in the bar. We had a couple drinks before we were called to be seated. I loved the atmosphere of this place... The dark wood and the white table clothes, the brown and white cow hides hanging on the walls... Although the decor seemed very masculine, at the same time was very simple and elegant.. We were seated in a booth upon which we requested, in the main dinning room. I loved the large tray that they rolled to our table to show us all the available food options. It's nice to have a visual of what you plan to order. Our waiter was very kind and patient and was prompt with putting in our order. I opted for the two kind crab legs (2 lbs of meat). Absolutely delicious... I couldn't even finish it there I was so stuffed, so I boxed up my leftovers and took them home. My date got the porterhouse... His favorite piece of meat that he's ever ate (he's the ultimate steak man)! Although this place was pricey, it was absolutely worth every bite and dollar! A great place to come for a special occasion or if your looking for a nice evening out on the town. I know for a fact we will be back here again in the near future!

I'm going to keep this one simple and short. I don't like this place. Never have, never will. The waitstaff are kind of jerks which is a major turn off whenever I go into a "nice" restaurant. Anyway, the steak is whatever. You would think that a place like this would know how to cook a steak to medium, NOPE. I've asked a few others which place they prefer, Manny's or Murray's? Everyone has agreed upon Murray's being the better place to go. Avoid this place. There are way better steakhouses around.

My younger brother was in town visiting Minnesota and steak is basically a primary food group for him. I've been to many other steakhouses in the area, but have never had such an overall amazing meal experience from start to finish. Everything from the starter bread basket to the monstrous and decadent Bailey's cake and brownie with strawberries sundae were made to perfection. No matter how full you might feel, you can't resist going in for another bite...or seven. I highly recommend the lobster cakes as an appetizer. We decided as a table that my chopped salad was better than the Caesar (mainly due to the candied pecans!). Any steak you choose will be phenomenal. Your server will give a great presentation of each hunk of cow so you know what you're in for. I'm always a fan of the filet, which is extremely tender and delicious. We split the loaded mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides. The asparagus were so large they could be mistaken for tree trunks! And who doesn't love a dish of warm, buttery, rich mashed potatoes complete with swirls of sour cream, and covered in cheese and bacon. Although completely stuffed, we decided we couldn't leave without trying the Bailey's cake and brownie strawberry sundae. Both had a brownie base and were piled sky high with whipped cream . The Bailey's cake was a perfectly light mousse. The brownie had multiple layers, each separated by warm gooey caramel, topped with ice cream and accompanied by fresh strawberries. The server brings out warm caramel and hot fudge for all your drizzling desires! I highly recommend Manny's for special occasions! Your taste buds will be in heaven!

I thought I would start my yelp career by reviewing what I know best, Manny's!. All in all, along with Gibson's in Chicago I think Manny's is the single best steak house I have ever been to. Leave your vegan friends at home, sell your old elliptical, apologize to your liver, and blow the kids college money at Manny's, you won't be disappointed. Since moving here from California earlier this year Manny's has been my home away from home. They simply do not make steak houses like this back in San Francisco, or anywhere except for Chicago for that matter. First and foremost Isaac, Mark, Samantha and all of the front of house create a tremendous welcome upon your arrival. Belly up to the old-school style bar and have Spike or Brian or any of their animated bar staff get you a stiff drink to make the menu prices a bit less overwhelming. The spirits selection is superb and nothing makes me more willing to part with $250 than two heavy-handed Knob Creek Manhattan's. The dining room is classic, unpretentious and is a perfect example of function over form. The outspoken wait staff is attentive, professional yet they are the furthest thing from stuffy and will only judge you if you ask for steak sauce or are looking for something light. The sides are the size of lambs and the entrees are the size of small kangaroos. The bottom line though is that the food is astounding. The cuts are beautifully prepared, and as someone who likes his beef rare, my plate usually 'moos.' For lunch, they make hands down my favorite French dip anywhere, and the lobster balls are divine. The sides are great for sharing and the Makers Mark bread pudding is not to be missed. Afterward finish off with a Laphroaig scotch or stumble up to Prohibition upstairs for a nightcap. Bravo Manny's!

I feel really sad about having to give Manny's only 3 stars...I had really high hopes, but it just did not live up to the hype. My boyfriend and I made reservations to celebrate Valentine's Day and arrived right on time. The host was actually kind of rude. He said "oh, celebrating valentines day..."(we noted it in the reservations) and sent us to our table, which we were really disappointed in. It was right in the middle of the floor next to the aisle where they roll the carts of food through. We went and asked if it would be possible to get a booth because this table was the OPPOSITE of romantic. We were told that because we didn't request it in our reservation there were none available. Ok, understandable and good to remember for the future. They did tell us that we could have a booth in the bar seating area, so we decided to go for that. We went and got our coats and my bag and headed back up to the host to be seated at the booth in the bar area. The host was so busy flirting with 2 girls in high heels and dresses so short you couldn't see them under their coats, that we stood there for a few minutes before he quickly asked a waitress if she could take us to our table. How annoying and unprofessional. Anyway, the bar area seating is not as nice as the dining area...the tablecloth is red and white checkered like a picnic. But, the privacy was a lot better, so we were both content with it. Our waiter was really nice. He was really attentive and made sure all of our food was ok. I loved the meat cart they bring out, it gives you a really good idea of what you're getting when looking at the menu. I went with the petite filet and my boyfriend got the bone-in ribeye. We also split the loaded mashed potatoes and the scallops benedict. I've had the scallops benedict at Pittsburgh Blue, and I have to say, it is much better there than at Manny's. Both the bacon and the toast were incredibly salty and not as put together as the dish at Pittsburgh Blue. My boyfriend loved his steak, it was huge and delicious and was cooked a perfect medium. I also ordered my steak medium, but it came out well-done, it was even crispy on the edges. Having taken a bite or two, I pointed it out to our waiter who agreed that it was way over-cooked. He took it back right away and brought me a new one. This one was better...probably closer to medium-well but still was a little too done for me. I like a nice bright pink/red in the middle. This one was barely, barely pink. Plus, they had to "butterfly" it so that it would cook faster since we already had the rest of our food. The steak itself was very tender and good though, and our waiter was super awesome about everything. The loaded mashed potatoes was my favorite dish. Delicious potatoes with a healthy portion of cheese, sour cream, and bacon, yum! Plus, the portion was absolutely huge. We made it through a little less than half. We also split the Whiskey Bread Pudding as a dessert. It was huge and delicious. TONS of Maker's Mark and delicious butter cream hard sauce. I would suggest a DD if you plan on consuming the whole dessert. Overall, I liked the food at Manny's and our waiter was absolutely top-notch. I would have liked to see my steak cooked better at such a nice place and I really would have appreciated if the host at least acted like he gave a damn about us. Our first impression when walking in was ruined and that isn't easily forgotten. We'll probably go somewhere else when we go to spend this much money on a meal.

I had an amazing time here when I stopped by MN last month. Found Manny's on yelp and I had heard great things about it, so I figured I'd check it out. Plus it was only 3 blocks from the hotel I was staying at. The service was amazing. Our waiter was very nice/funny and good about keeping our glasses full. All the steak options were amazing I wish I had a few stomachs just to try them all. My filet was delicious, so tender and flavorful. The sides were HUGE, very fresh asparagus, veggies, the most amazing loaded mash potatoes (which sadly we barely dented because we were so full). The mac and cheese was not bad either. Over all it was a really nice dining experience and one of the better steakhouses I've eaten at in MN. It's a little pricey but an expected price for a nice upscale steak dinner. I'd definitely eat here again!

VERDICT: Excellent food, enormous (almost unmanageable) portions, hefty bar pours, and great service but at a hefty price tag.. FOOD: Top notch steaks, cooked to perfection. I've had the filet, bone in filet, porterhouse, and rib eye here and am still struggling to find a rival for ANY of these cuts in my travels. The truffle fries are excellent and colossal rock lobster tail is amazing (but also costs $140...) SERVICE: No complaints in any of my 4 visits and they never rushed us out even when the restaurant was filled to capacity (which it was every time, even on Wednesday nights). Knowledgeable wait staff that took to time to learn how I liked my steaks cooked and then assigned that it should be prepared medium (they cook on the rarer side and I traditionally like my steak medium-rare). One of my colleagues was vegetarian and they accommodated him with a pasta entree which he couldn't stop raving about - he liked it so much that he came back twice just to eat that. Overall, great service. VALUE: This is my only knock on Manny's, the fact that I can't afford to eat here every day. Expect to pay, and pay a LOT if you get the colossal tail. Three of us went here for dinner for a birthday celebration and had 3 cocktails, 1 bottle of '09 Cakebread cab, truffle fries, the colossal tail, 3 different cuts, a brownie and a cheesecake and we rang up a tab of $620...we know we overdid it but the thing is, we'd do it again in a heart beat because of how much we enjoyed our meal. We barely touched the dessert (they're delicious but MASSIVE) but were able to take down the apps and entrees only because we all worked out and ran for two hours prior to dinner. To say we were full is a massive understatement. Granted I've never had breakfast or lunch at Manny's but I would certainly recommend it for a special occasion or celebratory dinner. This place has some serious portions so come hungry and you'll almost certainly leave happy...

Its what a business does when you don't have a great experience that makes me want to keep going back or avoid it completely. I am a HUGE fan of Manny's, even with my last experience, which wasn't to par. I knew that Parasole prides themselves on the quality of food and the quality of service. The filet I had was not at the level of quality that I believed that they would be proud of. I voiced my opinion, and they definitely went out of the way to hear my voice. The other dozens of times I have ate here, I was amazed. The asparagus is probably the best I have EVER had... the key lime dessert is probably one of my favorites in the cities... We are humans... humans make mistakes, but when a company that takes pride to the level that Parasole does and makes amends and sincerely apologizes, I do nothing but brag. This IS the best steakhouse in Minneapolis. (The only other 2 steak houses in my opinion that are better- Gibsons in Chicago and Las Lilas in Buenos Aires, Argentina- yes, I compared Mannys to an authentic Argentinian steakhouse) If you have a client you need to impress or want to go to one of the hottest date spots in the state of Minnesota- book reservations in advance... I promise you will have an experience you will be bragging about for a long time!!!

Randy's Man Candy is the best thing I have ever tasted. That may sound weird, but wait until you try some. Its a thick slice of bacon in a maple, brown sugar glaze and it melts in your mouth. I had the burger sliders again and they did not disappoint. The french fries are delicious. And so are the tots!

Dinner at Manny's last night for my hubby's birthday. He is a huge steak eater, so I wanted to take him to a great steak restaurant. We'd already been to Capital Grill and we went to Murray's last year, so Manny's was the next stop. I couldn't believe how expensive their cuts of steak are! You can't get a steak for under $40, yikes! I guess I'm not a huge red meat eater, and obviously don't have experience at fancy restaurants like Manny's. The service is excellent at Manny's, as it should be for the price. They start you out with a bread basket with two varieties, one raisin and one rye. Then the watier rolls around the meat cart showing you all of the different cuts that are available. My husband went with the porterhouse and I actually opted for the lobster cakes (which are on the appetizer menu). We also got an order of their mac and cheese. All of the food was delicious. The lobster cakes were amazing, I couldn't believe how huge the chunks of lobster were. And the mac and cheese... to die for. It was rich and creamy, with a great cheesy crust on top. My husband thought the porterhouse was good, but maybe a little too fatty for his taste. He still prefers the steak and atmosphere at Capital Grill. Make sure to come here for a special occasion, and they will treat you with free dessert! Because it was the hubby's birthday we got a free slice of their Bailey's mousse cake and it even had a candle. The bottom layer was brownie, topped with a layer of Bailey's mousse, whipped cream and tons of hot fudge. Delicious! It was so big, we couldn't finish it all.

I was in the Mini for a conference and happened upon Manny's by accident. I ordered the bacon slices as an appetizer. Thick cut, knife and fork bacon. I'm the king of bacon, and I had never had bacon so good. I followed with the ribeye. A huge pound and a half plus steak with delicious, but unnecessary truffle fries on the side. I felt like John Candy in the Great Outdoors. Ive never had to talk myself through a steak . Next time...oh man...ive got to try the....139.00 austrialian lobster......... I wonder can I take that off my taxes

It may have been the cocktails that night but I could have sworn I ordered the "dino" cut. The cuts here are not for the faint of heart and neither are the prices. Manny's is food theater at it's best. The plan here is to skip breakfast, skip lunch, gorge here and go nighty-night. Oh, and save room for dessert - the mountain of deliciousness that arrived at our table left us speechless.

The steak sandwich at Manny's changed my life forever. A buddy and I dropped by Manny's for lunch recently and after I had the steak sandwich, everything in my life has become much less important. Since eating the steak sandwich at Manny's, I've stopped calling my friends, I haven't muttered much more than "pass the remote" to my wife and son and I haven't been to work in weeks. The only thing that matters anymore is my next steak sandwich at Manny's. Great service, lovely atmosphere and a fairly reasonable price for the quality of food (specifically, for the lunch menu). I highly recommend Manny's for the occasional lunch indulgence.

Best steak I have ever had in my life and I have tried all of the best. Service was amazing and certainly made up for the extremely high prices. Share a side and ask for the "half" size. Loaded mash potatoes were awesome.

The basics of the restaurant: Service: Excellent. I could not have asked for better. Our waiter knew the menu well, knew a lot about the cuts of meat, and stayed engaged with us but not to the point of being annoying. One thing I particularly liked about him was when he took our order he asked us to describe your idea of a perfectly cooked steak. Asked some follow up questions. They HE assigned if that was rare, medium rare, etc. The result was I got a steak cooked exactly the way I wanted it. Five Stars. Ambience: Pretty simple dining room. It is a big room. I personally like a warmer and cozier style. Mannys has a rolling menu where they bring all the different cuts of meats to your table to shock and awe you. That was pretty cool the first time around but our table was near the place where they stored the rolling menu so I got to see it a lot. And this is just me but booths in a restaurant like this? I mean the only reason you put in booths is to maximize your floor space. Normally I would not say anything but this is a $125 per person meal. For a place that was a bit less money - 4 stars. I give it 3 stars just because if I am going to spend that kind of money I want a lot. Three Stars. Normally this is where I have the header Food, but in fairness I am going to break it down to three sections: Steaks, Sides, Drinks. Steaks: The steak was excellent. The steak was really really large. The steak was expensive. $54.00 for the New York Strip or the Porterhouse. Overall if I compare my experiences with this steak against other top steak houses this one came in at number 6. Not bad considering the company they are keeping. Five Stars. Sides: This was disappointing. Mannys is one these places where you do not get a side with your steak. You have to order sides Family style. I find this annoying. We ordered two sides. The mushroom. 4 Stars. The asparagus. 2.5 Stars. The asparagus was really large. I like it younger and tenderer. But what was bad is when you have asparagus you break off the woody stem at the bottom before you cook it. They did not do that. Over all we will say 3 Stars. Drinks: Great bar and wine selection but a tad high priced. Over all 4.5 Stars. Cost versus Value: There were two of us and we dropped $250 after taxes and tip. That is right $250. I know the steak was great. I know the service was great. I know bar was great. But frankly if I was paying (I wasn't.) for this meal I would have had buyer's remorse. There are a lot better values in Minneapolis. But if you want the prestige of eating at Mannys and a great steak. Here you go. Personally I would give it a 3 Stars. Overall a 4 Star Experience. Tips: Split the Steak. Know how you like your steak before hand.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary and we were pleased by the great food, exceptional server, and a surprise that the manager picked up a few items from our bill. What a great start to our anniversary. We shared each others plates and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant if eating downtown.

Went to Manny's today for brunch after the home and garden show with my friend and I have to say I was impressed with the food. I had the prim rib French dip sandwich and my friend had the prim deluxe burger. We additionally shared the loaded hash browns and both agreed the food was delicious. Although the food was good the service was not. I had read a few reviews beforehand and chose to go during a non peak hour to hopefully not run into service issues that were noted in the reviews I had read. Unfortunately even though there were only a few tables, our waitress was very inattentive. We were waiting a lot of the time to order as well as on refills for our drinks. I would have to say although the service was slower the food was great and the bill wasn't that terrible for a Sunday brunch. I will have to return to try the dinner menu, and evaluate better if the service is always that slow.

"The food may have been excellent, but I was choking on the prices." Manny's was a great experience and my one liner is a bit of a joke, after all, you get what you pay for. My buddy Ty highly recommend I try the Manny's Burger- so I did. The GF had the Shrimp Scampi and the sis had the Fillet Mignon. Well, here's how it went down: The Manny's Burger? Freakin' delicious. This thing had to at least been 2 lbs of center cut goodness layered with pulled meat at the bottom and fried onions. It could have seriously fed me and Larry the Live Lobster who rolls from table to table. I ordered it Medium and I have to say that it was full of flavor and every bite felt like I was biting into a chunk of cotton candy from the state fair - just melt in my mouth. The GF said her shrimp was plump and juicy and oh-so-good. It was sauteed with just the perfect amount of butter, peppers and California garlic. Full disclosure fellas: Do not kiss your gal after she's had this plate - for at least 2 hours. Floss. Brush. Repeat. The sis had the fillet mignon and also expressed it was easily one of the best she has ever tasted. She said it was full of flavor, very tender and actually got better with every bite. She recommended it and said it would definitely be her go-to meal next time we dined here. As for the sides we shared the incredible mashed potatoes, hashed browns, fries and the Mexican spicy elote which wasn't on the menu. All of them were equally great tasting. My personal favorite were the mashed potatoes - extra cheese and extra bacon, how can you beat that? All in all, Manny's delivered and I will be back soon.

one word. OVERRATED. My first time at Manny's in their new location. We had a private room since our group was approx. 22 people. They forgot to bring my wife's dinner and forgot to bring half of my order! They had one main server and one helper for our entire group. But dining at one of MPLS's finest and they forget to bring your entrees, not once but twice? Unreal. They brought my wife's salad after everyone was almost done eating, then never brought her the Mac n" Cheese she ordered for diner. I ordered the Lobster cakes, never showed up! I also ordered the Lamb Chops and honestly they were below average. Very fatty, gristly. Wasn't high quality lamb chops. Considering the prices to boot, this place is straight up OVERRATED. Buy a very nice steak at Byerly's, grill it at home because the service will be much better at your house and you'll save money, and get the same quality.

Read something about "don't say best" for reviews for them to be considered "real". The filet mignon I had here was the very best I have ever had in my life though. You probably want to save this for last experience in Minneapolis so that it doesn't affect your experience with other dining experiences :) They come around to show you the meat tray right after sitting down. I almost jumped out of my seat as I hadn't realized the lobster was alive until it was actually right behind me moving around. I apologize to my dining mates who I requested not to partake in eating Roger. I know I know, all the meats were alive at one point. Something different about ordering an execution. Later in the meal Roger tried to make a run for it, and something really gross about that smack sound as the shell slams down. Ok, but back to the steak. At medium rare, the steak center was at room temperature and _red_. Slicing in was like slicing into butter. Perfect texture, and taste. Yes, this is pricey steak. If you like steak, this is steak you need to experience even if it's just once in your life. We also had mushrooms (largest button mushrooms I've ever seen) and the hash browns. I highly recommend both although the hash browns aren't as tasty the next day (you'll have left overs if you have a small party). The coffee chocolate mousse something dessert is also exquisite. The drinks are not stingy with the alcohol. My gentlemans jack and coke was heavy on the jack but a perfect accompaniment. Also, I had a diet coke. And it was a mini-bottle. So awesome. Mini-soda in Minnesota. Finally, the best part of the experience was Stevie D. Stevie D is a character (and an incredibly attentive waiter!). I'm not sure if all waiters there are this awesome, but Stevie D rocked it.

We've been to high-end steak houses everywhere---LV, LA, NYC, Chi and Manny's is as good as it gets. The bacon and bone marrow apps were both great! The service was great and she recommended sharing everything which we did. The porterhouse was off amazing and the sides were as good. Def give this place a shot when you are in the cities.

First visit to MInneapolis and everyone recommended this steakhouse. Simply said...Service was great from the moment we stepped into the door. Bone-in Rib Eye with a killer Loaded Mash and Creamed Garlic Spinach...All perfect! Anthony was our waiter and the gentleman with the moustache who bussed our table represented this restaurant to the T!

Manny's makes no secret of 'bigger is better'. The entire experience of the great food here is made even greater by the atmosphere. You look at all of the happy faces around you, knowing they are eating some of the best beef anywhere, and lots of it. The great experience starts with the drinks. They are very strong, so watch out! The bread, both dark and light are very good. We had the cream spinach, snap peas and truffle fries as sides. Not as good as the beef, but good enough. The crowning event was the brownie. Not the little square you carve out of the pan, BUT THE WHOLE PAN! Five grown men could not finish off this behemoth, so we offered it to the tables near us and they also took a cut at it. Even after that, there was some left over.

One of my best friends had a $200 gift card, so it's easy to right a great review when a very expensive meal costs you nothing. Fair disclosure. Service: Top Notch. Our waiter could have his own comedy show, but was also very knowledgeable. Environment: I like how simple and classy it is. No fuss, no muss. Our booth was comfortable enough to host the feast we were about to begin. Food: What. The. Hay. First, there were four of us, and we split a filet between two rare-meat-phobes and a rare-as-hell bludgeon of beef between the carnivores. We also got a salad, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and creamed spinach. Tooooo much food. But it was so good. Let's break it down. Potatoes: Mountain of Mashed Potatoes. Small children would have ran in fear. We dove in. It felt a little "Epic-Meal-Time-Esque" to have this on the table with the Bludgeon of Beef. Other Sides: Delicious. Who cares though? Meat: The 50oz. Bludgeon is the most ridiculous thing you will ever consume. It was basically completely uncooked, with a great char on the edge. It had the consistancy of really great Toro rather than beef, I would say. I only managed to down about 8oz, big ups to my friend's boyfriend, who killed most of the rest of those 50oz. Ate off the bone and everything. Dessert: Uncalled for. We did it anyway, some crazy chocolate cake that came free for the friend's birthday. Total: $197 before taxes. For four people, I feel like that's pretty damn reasonable. We didn't have any booze though.

Unless you're rich or a business regular for happy hour, you come here for a special occasion. Ours was lent is coming up and we wanted a last shot at a great steak. I'm ashamed to say I've never been here in my 24 years as a Minnesotean. A good friend of mine, Monty has been a waiter here for years, so of course we asked for him when I made the reservation. DO make a reservation, no matter the day or the time. I'll cut to the chase. We got the bludgeoner, 50 oz. ribeye. A perfect MR, that you order medium. We put a dent in the loaded mashed potatoes, a la carte. Dessert is a must to save room for. Signature bread pudding, swimming(no exaggeration) in bourbon. It's served in a huge goblet. Word to the wise, dish it onto your plate, don't attempt to eat it out of the glass to get all the booze, it's really hot. You aren't gonna pass a breathalizer anyway. It has a couple of dabs of butter, no whipped cream necessary. Sounds like a title for sex toys. About the service, all the wait staff seemed very seasoned, but ask for Monty, he's just awesome. At the table next to us were businessmen and one was dominating the conversation, while Monty patiently waited for him to finish before he took the order. They all got appetizers, one was signature scallops in a sauce. I gotta lie down. I could make an entree out of those. Keep in back of mind for lent. So me and my stomach head to the bathroom. Another OMG moment, just gorgeous, and a beautiful waiting area in the hall. I'd have my meal in the hall if necessary. Another shame, NOTHING like this in St. Paul, I've been kidding myself all these years.

We had a birthday extravaganza weekend that ended with a meal at Manny's. My husband & I had never been before so we were equally excited. This is definitely a special occasion place unless you're a straight-up baller. After we ordered some bubbly our waiter brought the meat cart to our table to show us what they have & how gigantic everything is. I have no idea how one person can finish a steak that is the size of a 4 year old. The portions are out of control huge. We started with oysters on a half shell which were just okay. For my entree I ordered the special for the evening which was potato-crusted sea bass. Ryan ordered the bone-in tenderloin with a half order of mushrooms and a side of bearnaise sauce. We also ordered a half order of the loaded mash potatoes. My sea bass was delicious & I'm proud to say I finished everything on my plate. Ryan, on the other hand, put a large dent into his steak but ended up boxing up the rest of it. The half order of the potatoes was still a ridiculous portion. We ate the rest of them for lunch today. Very good & still worth ordering, though. Rather than the signature bread pudding dessert, we asked for key lime pie (birthday dessert is comped). The size, once again, was abnormally large. It was amazing & we ate the remainder for lunch today as well. Service & food are topnotch and the prices match that. Until next year, Manny's...

I am confused why people are raving about their steaks. My 10 oz steak was infused with some sodium ladden product that is probably used to tenderize the meat. You can go to a butcher, get a great cut of meat and have a better steak in the comfort of your own home.

One of the best steak houses in the city and they can prove it by the prices that charge for their food. We ate here for a Sunday lunch, a little reward that I gave myself for biking 100 miles the previous day. We were offered the lunch menu but said that the dinner menu was also available minus a few minor things that i wasn't interested in anyways. We settled on the wedge salad (split), a dinner cut of New York Strip (19 oz) ordered medium rare, and loaded hash browns. First of all, why do the portions have to be so big? Every steak house is like this for some reason. WHO can eat an entire wedge salad or most salads at these steak houses? I always split a salad and it's plenty to keep my hunger satisfied. The salad was very good with blue cheese dressing, bacon chunks and a wedge of tomato. My steak came as a lunch cut (10 oz) and wasn't what I would call medium rare so I sent the steak back. Our server said that their steak scale is a little different than other steakhouses but had no issue cooking out steaks longer, this was something that she failed to explain when we ordered. She also said that dinner steak would be out shortly and she apologized for the error. The loaded hash browns were very good, but I thought the onion chunks inside were too big and overpowered the dish. Maybe a sweeter onion if the chunks are going to be that big? When the steaks did come out they were just the way I like them, my definition of medium rare. Now I had two steaks for the price of the dinner steak that I originally ordered. When dinner was done our server came out with a huge piece of Baileys chocolate cake with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. This was free of charge because of the steak mix-up. Our server was very pleasant and professional. I'll be back (Terminator voice)

Oh Manny's, I don't think I have ever looked forward to being in a weekend long food coma. Every ounce of my post meal pain is well worth it. I am an "almost" vegetarian, I eat red meat once in a blue moon, but going to a place like Manny's made me venture out. From the beginning, amazing and extensive wine list! Happy lady. The bread was the only downfall. Not warm and raisin bread, weird to me but I'm not coming here for the bread. The Tomato Mozzarella salad was the best I have ever had! I could have ended my meal there. We ordered the porterhouse and a giant crab leg, almost makes me want to learn to grill. The sides are massive! We split a half order or fully loaded hashbrowns (bringing me back to my waffle house days...) and a 1/2 order of asparagus. Wrong to pour the hollandaise sauce over my whole plate, nope. To put the icing on the cake, or the ice cream on the brownie ;) we ordered the mammoth brownie that could have fed an army. Left mannys happy. full. delighted. and hoping to do something fabulous to have a reason to go back soon!

This was the best steak I have ever had!! The drinks got the job done. Next time I will give some serious consideration to the lobster tail, I tried a small bite and it melted in my mouth. It was kinda strange but the hash browns and onions were a very nice change from the "stuffed" baked potato

I read all the great reviews so I decided to give Manny's a try. I ordered the 7oz lunch Filet with chips instead of fries and a side salad. The steak was OK, I have had much better. It tasted very salty on the outside and it did not cut easily as other good steaks that I have had before. Overall a nice place for steak, but not on the top of my list. I prefer Fleming's or Capital Grille.

Manny's consistently sits in the top 5 best restaurants in Minnesota. The service is top notch, the food is even better, and when you go there you are treated like you belong there. Their steaks are consistently high quality and their chefs know how to prepare them. My usual is the New York Strip; I personally enjoy this because of the marbling consistency throughout the cut and when prepared correctly (as is always done at Manny's) the seared fat and gristle on the outside edges are the perfect mixture of crispy and chewy. The only suggestion I have is to offer an aged Kansas City Strip (bone-in Strip Steak), the bone keeps the meat even more juicy (as if that were even possible) and offers more flavor. Sticker shock is expected at the end of the night, but every once in a while when you have something to celebrate definitely keep Manny's in mind. Note: A few weeks ago when I was there last I literally sat 6 feet away from Leslie Fraiser; rich people gotta eat too! Being that there are not that many high end restaurants in Minnesota, on a Friday or Saturday night you will almost always see some celebrity or star at Manny's. Keep on kill'n it!!!

I ate 3 consecutive meals here within the past few days while on a business trip. Don't ask why, I just did. Here's a breakdown of the different components. Dinner: They bring out raw cuts of meat on a tray to show you what they look like. I rarely eat meat and am seriously grossed out by raw meat. I lost my appetite and frankly, it ruined my meal. If I wasn't with colleagues, I would have left. Furthermore, the menu didn't have a vegetarian entree choice aside from salads. Blech. I had to order something so I got seared ahi tuna and had mushrooms and mac'n'cheese as sides. The tuna was excellent, but the piece of it was huge -- enough for 3 people. In fact, all portions are gigantic. The mushrooms were painfully salty and the mac'n'cheese was pretty good. My dining companions had a filet and scallops, both of which they liked very much. Drinks: Excellent. Lots of choices, and I love seeing girly drinks on the menu at a manly establishment. Tons and tons of wines selections. Dessert: We shared the banana cream pie and sundae. Delicious and huge. I wish I had skipped dinner and just eaten these. Breakfast: I had pancakes with blueberries and they were delicious. Some of the best I've had in years. Lunch Again, no veggie choices aside from a basic salad. I was still grossed out from the night before and ordered a caesar salad...probably the least meaty/fishy option. It was nothing special, but nothing special was expected. Service: Very good and attentive at all meals. No complaints there. Overall: Manny's, you are really nice and have good food and excellent service. I want to give you 4 stars, but instead have to give you 3. I get that you're a steakhouse. But it's 2011. Lots of people are vegetarians and are still forced to go to steakhouses. Please give us an option that isn't a salad. Oh, and at least warn us before you bring out 50lbs of dead animals.

I haven't been here for a true steak dinner yet so my review is only based on the Sunday brunch I had there. We went with my parents for the Packers/Vikings game (which I attended and loved watching the Pack trounce the Vikings!). We all got bloody marys, I would go with the traditional Manny's Mary...spicy, good beef stick and olives, delish! For brunch they have a buffet. I really enjoyed the amount and quality of seafood they had. I was able to get locks and bagels (my fav) and huge jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce. The only downside from the buffet and why they didn't rank higher was that the prime rib that was in the chaffing dish was SO over done...it was well done. For a steakhouse that should be a crime! The other thing that I was disappointed about was that the egg selection wasn't as upscale as I had hoped for the prices we were paying. They had a couple egg scrambles but I would've love an eggs benedict station or omelet station...those are a must in a breakfast buffet. I will probably be back for a steak at some point but would rather go someplace else for breakfast.

Every city needs an old school steakhouse that time had forgot. Manny's is that type of place. Great steaks, Cesar salads and martinis that you could ride a jet ski in. The bartender and servers were all excellent, and knew all the regulars and what their usual orders were. If I lived close to Minneapolis, I would become a regular myself.

I recently had lunch at Manny's when in Minneapolis on business. We were staying downtown and looking for a good burger for lunch. We figured we that a Steakhouse would have a great juicy burger with good fries. We were seated in a nice sized booth as there were not very many tables occupied during prime lunch hours. The service was good and the waiter was attentive and timely. . We asked for steaksauce and he brought out several options for the table. After the service the meal went downhill. Myself and my colleague each ordered the Prime Burger. I ordered mine medium and it came out basically well done. The burger was also very greasy and the patty looked like it may have been frozen. Even an hour later I felt like I had the taste of grease/salt in my mouth like after you a fast food burger. The french fries were thin, limp and not very crispy. When dining at a steakhouse I except more for a $13 burger than a well done possibly frozen patty with limp fries. Based on other reviews I guess you need to stick with the steak and avoid the burger!

Big and Bold! On a recent Saturday evening, my dining companion and I went to Manny's. Neither one of us had ever been there and we are in the process of comparing all of the so called 'great places' in town. This was our last stop. As you can see, I'm not a meat eater, but I do like pork chops. Knowing full well they have pork chops, we dive right in at 8:30 on a Saturday evening. Here is what we had - Great service - service was excellent and she was spot on. I love how the come out with a 'meat cart' to show you everything. A loud dining experience - the place was too loud to have a nice conversation. It was not what I expected at all. Excellent cocktails - 2 perfect Lemon Drops, one so so Blueberry extravaganza, good wine, and some cucumber martini. Out of this world truffle fries - seriously - I bet I couldn't put my arms around the bowl. The couple next to us had them. We typically shy away from starches, but they looked too good! Note - gave me heartburn. Rockin' caraway rye bread (think tuna melt bread at Cecil's) and dark rye bread - see above - too good to resist! Caesar salad - good, but a little too lemony for me. Beet Salad - ask him, didn't want to even try. The 3 medley pork chop - 1 breaded, 1 grilled, and 1 Cajun. I liked the breaded one, but was so full from everything else I took the other 2 home. Some gigantic steak - Dining Companion really enjoyed. Asparagus - no hollandaise - grilled to perfection. And because we hadn't had enough, tart and flavorful Key Lime Pie. Great taste and texture. Now, I liked Manny's, but I didn't love it. The draw backs for me were the noise level and lack of non red meat specials. I truly pictured something more quiet and low key. I was way off base. I would have like to have seen a special of pasta or chicken, or something else, but I think I'm the only one. I would go back if some friends wanted to, but I prefer the other M place in Downtown Mpls. Worth the money, at least once.

My absolute favorite steak place in Minneapolis. The joint is super classy, waiters in starched white shirts and ties, rolling around the meat cart to explain my dinner choices for the night. Portions are LARGE - so be sure to share with a group. YES, Manny's is expensive, but you will leave feeling as though it was worth every penny. Spend wisely -get the more expensive cuts of meat, skip appetizers, you won't need them. Split a side dish; either the baked potato (easily feeds 2-3) or the mashed potatoes. Dessert is a good option too - the Key Lime Pie is to-die for!

I went to Manny's for brunch a week ago with my friend who goes there for dinner at least once a month. It was my first time at Manny's and my friend's first time for brunch. Upon arrival, the hostess sat us at a table in the bar- no problem there. She just stranded us without telling us where the buffet was or who our server would be. So we figured we would head up and get some food. The place was very empty and looked like they were recovering from a busy morning. The food was replenished and hot. No complaints there. However, we didn't have a server acknowledge us until my friend asked someone for a cup of coffee...just when we were finishing our first plate. Then the bartender came over and offered us a free round of mimosas for us having to wait so long for a server. Awesome. Then we saw this same bartender taking shots behind the bar ( on a Sunday around noon). Then we witnessed the manager taking pictures of 3 servers taking shots! Our bartender reeked of liquor and she was very rude after us not having any service for 30 minutes. I am in the industry and was totally appalled by everything at Mannys. My friend was equally appalled and embarrassed, because she frequents Mannys for dinner and convinced me to spend $30 on brunch. Never returning.

Honestly, I think anything you order here will be outstanding. Excellent service. These waiters/waitresses truly are the best. The food is fantastic. Lobster tail was cooked perfect and great portion. I've had the bone-in monster sized ribeye and it's the best steak I've had. The size will turn heads, I think it's 56 oz? The bacon is delicious too and offered as appetizer, num. And of course you could cut the filet with a spoon it's so tender. Just really like this place. Not pretentious or trendy, always been treated great here. Also found that if you want something not necessarily offered on the menu, ask your waiter. They did an Oscar filet for us and it wasn't on the menu. Oh, and one last thing, if you love mushrooms, order their side of mushrooms. Just delicious! I could have eaten only that dish and been satisfied with my meal! But of course, the bill is not cheap. However, for the quality, you get what you pay for.

Finally made a trip to Manny's after a few months of talking about it. And unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but my steak wasn't any better than something I could have cooked at home. Sure, it's a great steak, but when I'm paying 3-4x the amount I would pay elsewhere, I'm expecting something outstanding. And it just wasn't. The cheesy potatoes were good, but again, nothing spectacular. I'd recommend grilling your own high quality steak at home before heading over to Manny's. Sadly, the experience doesn't equal the expense.

Yes, Manny's delivers consistently great steaks (slightly overpriced in my opinion). Yes, the service is second to none (always). Yes, lunch service is a well-oiled machine (order off of the daily specials or you're missing out). BUT: The Lobster Benedict and slab-cut Nueske's bacon are the ONLY reasons I keep going back. And back. And back. To. Die. For. Go for breakfast or brunch. They'll be happy to serve you a steak at 6:30am if you're not hip on hollandaise. You'll be happy you polished off that platter o' bacon all by your little self. (Don't worry. Your arteries will forgive you by noon.)

Recommended by a co-worker and we decided to try it out and since it was on the corner where the hotel I was staying at, The W hotel. I'm a sucker for steakhouses but I do love some red meat. Anyways, we got a table in the dining area and it was completely crowded and loud. I'd rather have a booth but none was available. We decided to eat at the bar area in a booth which was less noisy and way better. Atmosphere was nice and presentation of the cuts of steak was great. The waitress will show you all the cuts and explain so you know exactly what you'll be eating. I ordered the ribeye because I love it and always look for the best of the best. Anyways, there was way too much fat that I had to cut away from the steak. It was great but not memorable. Would I come back?? Not on my dime!

Huge portions so best to go in a group vs. a date night. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination so be mentally prepared ahead of time so the sticker price doesn't adversely impact your experience. Easily my favorite restaurant in the whole wide world!!!

Came here for a birthday dinner after my boss said that the steak here is better than that of Fogo. But, the boyfriend got the NY strip and thought it was just OK. Definitely did not meet the hype and expectations. The steaks were pretty pricey... $40 for ours, which is a lot for being just a-ok. I don't really eat steak so I had the lobster cake appetizer as my entree. I thought that was pretty good--full of real meat and a great savory taste. The scallops with bacon was very yummy as well. A bailey's chocolate birthday cake was on the house =) The portions are very big, so we even felt a little barbaric in this high end restaurant. Not sure if we'll be going back for the steak. Probably not unless they offer some sort of specials.

A group of 4 went Friday Nov 19, 2010 to celebrate a friend's promotion and it was perfection. From the waiter's fun welcome and talked the table down to an equally good bottle of wine but half the price to the entertaining people watching, it was a win. Two had NY Strips, one had a petite filet and I had 2.5 LB lobster. We shared the asparagus and loaded hashbrowns- bacon on the hash was best in the cities. We talked ourselves into sharing a dessert- although full- and it was well worth it. We chose the apple back with ice cream. The bill was $369 so less than we expected. Make sure you bring your Parasole rewards car or sign up as we essentially received $30 in rewards dollars from the meal. After dinner have a drink in W's Living Room- where we had cocktails withs Viking and his girlfriend.

Very upset over dinner at Manny's tonite. Always go there for special occasions. It was my son's birthday and he always has the bone-in ribeye. We sent it back twice. It had a funky smell and taste . The consistency was mushy with huge globules of fat- not the usual marbling. They charged us for more drinks than we ordered. The bill for 5 of us without the one meal was $490. I had a salad and one drink!!

I am from Chicago where we have plenty of steak houses, so I was not expecting to have my mind blown. That is exactly what happened...presentation, service and food was great. On a plus side, not being a dessert person, their whiskey bread pudding was the bomb! Served in a ginormous glass, it was warm and covered in Maker's Mark...and they went the one step further and actually left the entire bottle of Maker's Mark at the table for me to just pour as I saw fit. That alone is worth going there. It is definitely on the pricey side, but it was worth it. We are going tomorrow and I am getting the ginormous Australian lobster tail...no dessert though. Also would recommend the hash browns...ask to have them made loaded.

Went to Manny's this week for the first time on my employer. It screams traditional Chicago or NYC steak house with overly large portions and unreasonably high prices. I opted for the fish - yes, let me hear the rants about that choice but I wanted to save room for some of the sides. I ordered off the menu - sea bass which was served over polenta cakes with mushrooms. It was very well prepared and tasty. The sides were pretty standard - most of them screamed, "I am full of butter and will clog your arteries", but they were pretty good anyway. Service was impeccable. I cannot comment on the steaks but if you are looking for a traditional steak house and want to spend your next two paychecks, this is the place. Not quite my scene as you will not see any innovative dishes, just the standard ones.

Curious but not without a budget, Saturday afternoon, and feeling adventurous. Let's go to Manny's and see if we can get lunch. After tasting the mixer to three wonderful Bloody Mary Mixes [the house traditional was our selection]. The house selection comes with a beef sausage [think slim-Jim] in it and is spicy and contains beef au jus, with fresh ground horseradish and black pepper--Ummm! There was an 'Old Bay' version, milder but charming in it's own way. Lastly, the Cajun Bloody, probably the hottest of the lot. Wash your choice down with a bottle of beer! We ordered the Manny's Deluxe burger. At $12.95 quite a meal. Half pound burger topped with cheese of your choice, fresh saute mushrooms topped by bacon, and served with a huge slice of beefsteak tomato, lettuce and fries. Big enough for two people to split! Next time, I'll go for the Lobster Benedict--it looked exceptional! Enjoy the conversation with Spike, the bartender, who's quite fun! What a wonderful way to power a Saturday afternoon!

By far one of the best steakhouses in the world! Have eaten here for many years. The wait staff is excellent. Always a busy place. The salads are fresh and hardy with perfectly aged steak.

Had a birthday dinner here a couple of weeks ago. Great time overall. The steaks were excellent. Split a bludgeon with a pal, and we still weren't able to finish it. The appetizers and sides were OK, but nothing to write home about. Service was top notch.

Shall we say... overrated? I probably had my hopes up too high. Going to one of the most expensive restaurants in the twin cities, you would expect excellent food, impeccable service, and great ambiance. Manny's deserves a four in all of these, but I guess I just expected so much and it fell short... I had the shrimp wrapped in king crab smothered in white wine butter sauce, and man was it buttery! I had a heartburn and the taste in my mouth didn't go away for an entire day. The sauce was overpowering - it did not bring out the flavor of the seafood . The brownie for desert was however out of this world! It was baked to perfection - the texture was perfectly chewy and soft. Plus it had all the fixings, and I mean ALL - chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, ice cream, whipped cream, and strawberries. YUM! The service was okay - nothing out of the ordinary. The place itself was extremely decked out of course. It is the W after all. Anyways, I enjoyed it, but not remotely as much as I thought I would.

Our team took our monthly outing to Manny's on a sweltering Minneapolis afternoon. We had 11:30 reservations, but probably didn't need them. They were about half full by 12:30. The six of us entered the beautiful façade of the Foshay Tower and immediately you are impressed with all the famous pictures on the wall. Off the hand I saw "The Rock", Kim Kardashian, and Mr. Famous Dave himself. To the right is a real cool looking, nostalgic feeling bar with lots of mirrors and crimson red table clothes everywhere. After the bar is a smallish dining room that seemed a little crowded, table wise. It is beautiful inside with wine racks lining the walls. Immediately a water server fills up our glasses and a stoic looking server comes out and is pure business, but in a cool way somehow. We all ordered their Ultimate hamburger, which comes with blue cheese, mushrooms, lettuce, pickle. You can get fries or potato salad. I chose the fries. Our co-worker got the Kobe beef spare ribs (She gave me a taste, scrumptious and melt in your mouth tender) The burgers came out after about 10-15 minutes on a rolling cart of dead cow. They were huge! I am guessing half pound patties. I had my crispy pickle spear and cut the burger in half. I think after 4 bites I actually thought to myself, I don't even see a dent in the thing yet. I ordered medium and it was perfectly juicy. The blue cheese was a little over powering, I think I'll go with cheddar next time. The bun was as big as a baby's face and the fries were nice and crispy. Service was excellent and they split the checks, which is always good for work groups. 18 bucks including tip, not bad for a lunch downtown, which will run 12-15 bucks anywhere else, and hey! This is Manny's!

Stayed at the W hotel with a colleague and ordered some food from the Prohibition bar which I assume came from the Steakhouse downstairs. I had a $32 Salmon accompanied by a side of broccoli for $7. My friend had the Manny's burger which was half a fried cow in a bread bun surrounded by what seemed to be two pounds of onion rings. Salmon was good enough but $32...really? + $7 for a plate of broccoli? My friend hardly dented the $20 burger which was quite frankly a big mess on a plate. Hardly fine dining...and way too overpriced.

A few years ago, I was working a trade show in Minneapolis with my boss. We're both steak people, so naturually, one night we found ourselves searching for a steak. We were pointed to Manny's. We both fell in love--so much so that we ate there three times during our stay. I've talked about the steak nearly every day since, but the truth is that after all these years, I don't know if it really was that great, or if I was just believing the hype I had produced. This week, I was granted the chance to see for myself: In the years that have passed, Manny's has undergone changes: it's moved to a different location in a different hotel (and a different neighborhood? I don't remember). The dining room appears to be smaller, as does the bar. Suffice to say, I couldn't get a seat, but was informed that the W hotel serves Manny's menu (AKA, I will make no comments on the service). I headed to the W, took a seat at the bar, ordered a beer, and consulted the menu. Another change that seemed to occur was that they've done away with the filet mignon on the bone in favor of a ribeye on the bone. Since I knew I'd be ordering hash browns, which would be a considerable undertaking, I opted to stick with the filet mignon. When my food arrived, it was with little fanfare: a HUGE plate of potatos (enough for 3 people probably) and a piece of steak on a plate that was far too big, with a piece of parsely as garnish, and a silver gravy bowl filled with some white sauce. I cut in. The memories flushed back into my conciousness as my tongue took in the flavor: a nice char crust on the outside leading to a perfectly juice, tender, and pink fleshy center. Cooked with a light hand and little besides salt, pepper and fire, the master grillsmen at Manny's cut no corners when it comes to perfection. Perhaps I did start to believe my own hype about this place, but they fed my opinion and my stomach accordingly. Still my favorite steakhouse in America.

This is in the top 3 best steakhouses in the Twin Cities. I went there with a large group and that is how I would recommend going since the portions are embarrassingly large. Seriously, I've never seen portions this gigantic. The sides were delivered family style, so again, they were huge. The desserts, you guessed it, huge. As for the price of all this food, well the size of the portions matches the size of the bill. Don't get me wrong, you are absolutely getting what you pay for here, great food, absolutely fantastic service, ambiance, everything. However, if you are just looking for a good steak, seasoned and cooked well, then you may want to go somewhere else. Save Manny's for a special occasion and bring some friends for a great time.

I really wanted to be blown away by this place...and while I was VERY pleased...I wasn't blown away. I had the bone-in ribeye and the flavor of it was spectacular...but it had a lot of grizzle and was a little tough. The manager was VERY quick to offer to replace it with a better steak. The person I was with had a filet and it was very good. The sides were also very good and everything that went by our table on a cart I wanted to try. I would highly recommend.

For years I'd been fond of killing time outside Manny's Steakhouse during special events at the Hyatt. I'd look at the black and white photos of past customers and secretly despise the place. It was mostly out of jealousy because I never really thought I'd eat there. I was a woman of the people, dammit, and smug, privileged smugness would always be beneath me. Fast-forward to about a year ago when I took my then-boyfriend to Manny's. It was a special occasion, I had some dough, and Marxism is so last century. Due to bad traffic and a smidge of bad planning, we were over an hour late for our reservation, but since it was an early dinner on a weekday night, it wasn't a problem. We were seated in a corner and got a great view of the rest of the restaurant. We found the atmosphere calming and chic. Our waiter wheeled out a cart of cuts and gave a little speech about that night's offerings. We ended up getting the bacon appetizer (among several huge appetizers ordered without proper appreciation of Manny's portions). I thought we'd get strips, but we got a delicious, indulgent mass of meat, fat and grease. I dream about this bacon. The steaks themselves were phenomenal. I'm sure if I was willing to spend $50 more, I would have ordered another sirloin. Dishes were cleared with lightning speed; one employee was just there to scrape crumbs off the tables. He was surprisingly discreet in performing this task. One thing I did not like was how the waiter preferred to talk to my boyfriend, or to me through my boyfriend. He asked my boyfriend what I was ordering, why we were there, if we needed more drinks, etc. Even though I paid for the meal, the waiter handed the receipt folder to my boyfriend. I recognize that this is a minor quibble, and might only apply to a waiter who may or may not work at the restaurant anymore, but if I'm taking care of a Manny's Steakhouse-sized tab, I think it's reasonable to expect some attention.

I think it is overrated. Yes, it is good, but there's other steakhouses I like better (Capital Grille / Porterhouse). The bacon is incredible and that's worth a whole heckuvalot, but I dunno--I'm just not feeling the vibe here. It's expensive, but you know that going in....it's probably worth what you pay, but it's just not hitting all the right buttons for me to justify dropping that much coin.

I love Manny's, especially at lunch. Ask for a big booth and get a lunch fillet and a bowl of French onion soup. If it's a good day, get a blackberry mojito or the drink called of love and lust. You won't regret it.

One of the best meals of my entire life. Steak, asparagus, oysters, lobster tail, everything was on point as it should be. If you are not pleased by Mannys offerings and service, I am convinced that nothing can please you.

Wasn't to impress, made reservations for the gf bday but upon arrival got seated like any other patron would without any reservations. The server didn't introduced us who she was until a little bit after getting our food. Without making any recommendations to the wine selections as asked by the gf, she just took it upon herself to grab one which I thought was strange. The price of the food is very expensive but the food is okay, but I wouldn't go back.

The steaks are just phenomenal. I've been to several steak houses (what can I say? the bf likes his steak), and while I've had other steaks that were the same quality, I've never had one that was better. The hash browns are good, but *gasp* I've actually had better elsewhere when I've gone out for brunch. While it quite possibly may be a heart-attack in a dish, I'd go for the loaded mashed potatoes. Now for the green portion of the meal (and I'm not referring to environmentally conscious). The asparagus and hollandaise is insanely good. I'm still trying to find out where you can find an asparagus stalk that's so thick! My only complaint: some of the seating is comprised of a long booth on one side which is broken up by individual tables, but it can feel like the couple next to you is sitting right on top of you listening to every aspect of your conversation.

Exceptional service and incredible food. Pretty pricey but worth every dime in my mind. We (2 guys) had the tenderloin carpaccio, oysters on the half shell, loaded hashbrowns (huge plate of crispy hashbrowns smothered in sour cream, bacon, and chives), 30 oz lobster, and 24 oz ribeye. Pretty sure we finished everything but the hashbrowns. That was just too much potatoes. Our waiter was extremely professional and understood when I interrupted him and told him to skip the fish and bring me some cow. Let's just say, I flew into MN a day early just to get Manny's and I will be back!!

An evening at Manny's guarantees good beef. The meat selection is fantastic and will be cooked to your specifications, include the truffle fries as a starter and you're going to enjoy the experience. My experience with Manny's lobster and seafood has been acceptable but not up to the quality of the rest of the menu. Stick with the staples and aim for a decent bottle of wine. The meal is pricey but the quality is there to substantiate the indulgence.

I know that this is difficult to believe if you've dined here before but Manny's disappointed the group at last Sunday evening customer dinner! We've dined here before with our friends and customers many times over the years with great delight - but, they blew it this night!!! Our steaks were over cooked! The table attempted to share to a Australian lobster tail - nope, over cooked not once but twice! Just bad all the way the around with the exception of the onion hash browns - these rock!!! The service as usual was outstanding and they tried to make all the issues right but some times it just does not happen. This joint is gonna set you back a buck and half per guest so it better be real good - which it generally is - but not this night! On the plus side; the wine list is fantastic. Lastly, I would be remiss if i did mention that if your looking for an enjoyable after dinner cigar do not look here unless you're searching for an overpriced dried out gar! We may try again but, it may be time to search elsewhere... lots of choices in Minneapolis!

Always a wonderful slab of meat. Got the porter house and shared with my daughter, we still had left overs! Awesome service of course. Everyone made our daughter feel special and treated her with a massive brownie dessert that is sinful. I love mannys and consider it a treat.

Being a Chicagoan, going out for steak in Minneapolis for my first time I was scared to death, especially as this was my wife's 30th b-day party at a place I have never been. Upon arrival my wife and I both felt at home as the décor and staff reminded us so much of our favorite steak houses in Chicago and New York. We were seated right away and introduced to our master of ceremony (aka - waiter) Anthony R. Within 2 minutes of him beginning to introduce us to the restaurant we knew we had struck gold. The explanation of the food and what to expect was spot on. As it was my wife's birthday we started off with or favorite cocktails, Kettle-One Dirty w/ Blue Cheese Olives for me and strawberry daiquiri for my wife. My wife being very picky about her drinks not being strong, I was worried for them, but what do you know they got it perfect! A great start! From there we decided to go with the apple wood smoked bacon starter, yes you heard me right, bacon baby!! I have not seen bacon on a menu as a starter since I was in CT about a year ago. It was amazing! Think of it as a bacon steak prior to your beefsteak...LOL!!! For our meal we decided to go surf and turf with the bone in ribeye (Come on we are from Chicago, is there any other cut!! LOL!!) and 2 pounds of king crab legs. For the sides a baked potato and broccoli. (I wish we would have gone with the hash browns after seeing some one else order them, maybe next time!) Okay so now for the review of the main course above, F'n AMAZING! Steph, my wife, and I thought we were some how magically transported back to our favorite steak house in Chicago and they were having their best night ever. Neither of us could believe how good the food was. It was such a good evening that we are now afraid for when we go back to Chicago to visit and eat at our (OLD) favorite steak house. HUGE props to Manny's for the best steak dinner I have had. --- If you go make sure to get Anthony R. as your waiter. He is the perfect mix of cocky east coast and confident Chicago from Minneapolis. Great waiter that is a really cool guy.

***Only for a splurge*** Juicy, 'melt-in-your-mouth' beef. Thick, flavorful lobster. And one word for the side choice: HASH BROWNS! This place is worth it (for a splurge). The price of food is astronomical. Even lobster shouldn't cost $100 for a tail. But, there is something about going to Manny's that makes it worth it on a 'special occasion'. The service is excellent. By the end of your eating experience, you feel like you have a new friend in the waiter. The food really is delicious, but like I said. You can find a decent steak for half the price. If you go, DO NOT FORGET to get the hash browns... This is the best piece of advice I can give you. They will RoCk YoUr WoRlD!

King Crab Legs!!! I am not a meat eater, but had the best seafood meal of my life here! 2 lbs of giant legs that they remove the meat from table side. Then, utter bliss... I cannot describe the sweet, salty tenderness. This was the meal of a lifetime.

Ok, so it's an annual tradition of sorts for my bro, my brofadim and my sis and her hubby to go out to minneapolis once a year (more specifically the last wkend of september, for John Piper's Desiring God conference). Anyways, this one was our very first time going there, back in 2006. back then, it was just the three of us - my bro, my brofadim, and me. It being the lastnight of the conference, we decided to go have a nice meal before flying back home the next day. and being 3 hungry guys, we chose on this steakhouse...well, actually i chose it cuz i wanted some steaks. Manny's in this hotel/mall/office building, on the 2nd, or was it the 3rd?, floor. it's got the typical old steakhouse look to it (you know, dim lights, all mahogony paneling, thick plush carpets etc). when u enter, this ginormous painting of a bull, and something that caused a violently laughing fit in my brofadim, welcomes you. as for the food, i ordered my go to cut bone-in-ribeye, and my bro ordered filet (cut for the lithe), and my brofadim ordered ny steak. all medium rare. the meat came out really really good. at least mine did. as for sides, we got cream spinach (decent), mushrooms (good), and baked potatoes (they were baked potatoes). anyways, my fav steak house is still mastro's in la. but i guess manny's is as good as it gets in the twin cities

Now remember, this place is pretty pricey so don't expect it to be easy on the wallet. The steaks are delicious and surprisingly melt in your mouth tender. You can literally taste the seasoning of the steak all the way through the meat and all the way down to the bone(aged maybe?), we had the bludgeon and porterhouse. ;) I'd always eaten steaks with A1 sauce whether it be over at the texas roadhouse or at an outback steakhouse but honestly, Manny's steaks doesn't require it because the seasoning is so great. The atmosphere is pretty mellow, the service was very friendly. We went there for my brother's birthday and at the end of our meal, we were expecting a slice of cake for him but our server brought out a GIANT ice cream sundae with spoons for everyone at the table. Will definitely stop by again!

After a week in Europe and a long flight we were tired and hungry for something familiar... Manny's was just what the dr. ordered Sat in the bar with red checkered table cloth and had the ribeye. Prepared medium rare just as ordered with a decent char. Nice flavor and marbling. The hash browns are not what I would normally order with a good steak but these were a perfect complement-especially with the onions mixed in. Great meal from a local operation and the service was spot on... loved it

I visited a while ago for the first time and was thoroughly impressed! The service was very good. The steak was fabulous and slightly under done in a good way. I suggest if you are dining with someone else that you split a steak. All of the food was great and worth the expense. I've dined here twice and it is definitely a worthwhile experience.

Ahhh, Christmas at Manny's. Much like our previous experiences of Valentine's Day at Manny's and our anniversary at Manny's, it always proves to be a great place for a chunk of meat and getting your drink on. I don't eat a lot of red meat, so when I do, I tend to make it a treat as much as possible. This, of course, means filet mignon. Unlike my experiences at too many other places in the metro, Manny's cooked my beef properly medium-rare. The salt and pepper crust was flavorful and delicious. And why did they give me bearnaise? Properly awesome meat needs no sauce. My husband didn't care to share any for his bone-in tenderloin, which is to say, he was also happy with his meat chunk. They may push the hashbrowns, but honestly, get the loaded mashed potatoes instead. They're exactly what needs to go with a meat pile. Any of the veggie sides are similarly solid, with the garlic creamed spinach being a nice garlic punch in the face if you are inclined to desire such things. There's nothing negative to say about the service. And although the cocktail menu itself is kind of meh, the bartenders will pour hard and heavy with anything you order. We had Manhattans that were more like a cup of rye with a vermouth afterthought. Two of those and I haven't been that drunk in ages. My husband certainly appreciated that. I know others may not speak terribly highly about brunch or lunch or whatever, but I refuse to shatter the illusion by going to Manny's for anything other than what they do best. My happy cloud of meat bliss approves.

This place was very friendly. Went there to celebrate many birthday. The service was very good and feel very genuine.the prices are what you would expect from a good steakhouse. We ordered the huge porterhouse for two ppl. It came out medium rare like we asked but the outside was a little to burnt(dry, crusty).maybe the chef was just having an off day or something. I would give this place another chance, but not after I try the other steakhouses around. The side of mac and cheese was very good but the truffle fries were not great. Fries just had a very potent flavor of truffle oil(not a good thing). But I still had a fun experience there.

While the steak was outstanding, of course, the Australian giant lobster tail ($140) on special was shocking bad. It was tough and tasteless, like something one would get at a truck-stop. It's very surprising a restaurant like Mannys would serve it.

My boyfriend took me here on our last night of a week in Minneapolis. He knows the way to my heart! Manny's is a quintessential steak house: dark wood interiors, photos of famous Italian mooks on the walls, a gorgeous bar, checkered tablecloths. The waiter brought out all the cuts and explained them to us before we ordered, along with a live lobster on a plate who was looking to crawl right into my lap! I feel like this demonstration is a bit extraneous, but we know our steak cuts, so maybe this is helpful for folks who don't eat a lot of steak? Who knows. The sides are freakinge huge and very simple. Don't expect anything than what is printed exactly on the menu. The wine list was overwhelming, but delicious, the steaks were cooked perfectly, and while this place is super pricey, it's perfect for a special occasion!

I only had dessert here since I already had a considerable amount of wine swimming in my tummy. I figured a small dessert would be fine. No one warned me about the mammouth proportions here. Although I should have probably read the reviews first, but it was a surprise detour that brought me here. The dessert was a strawberry rhubarb tart. What was presented to me was more like a whole pie under a mountain if ice cream amd whipped cream. I was unable to conquer this beast, even with the help of my friends. But it wasn't for a lack of effort. It was delicious. Had I come in with an empty stomach after a 2 day fast, that dessert would have gone down. One day I will return better prepared and sufficiently famished and have some steak. Every slab of meat that rolled past me looked wonderful. Our server was very friendly and handled my drunken antics like a pro.

A lunch at Manny's ensures that you will have a great meal. A dinner at Manny's promises a loud atmosphere where you will be seen. The experience it's self ensures a loud atmosphere, with attentive servers, and food that is above the usual standard but sometimes leaves something left to be desired. Beware, often the drinks here are mixed a bit stronger than usual, which for the price can be a blessing. The best thing about this location is that this is THE place to see and be SEEN in Minneapolis. The deserts are amazing.

If you like living in excess, Manny's is the place for you! Recently relocated to the W Hotel, Manny's is all about BIG portions and high quality food that will surely satisfy the largest of appetites. Dinner started with a very good Caesar Salad (don't forget the anchovies!), and the Apple Wood Smoked Bacon appetizer. Warning: this Bacon is not for the faint of heart (see my local pic and you'll know what I mean). Most people will probably see a heart attack on a plate, but the bacon is crisp, moist, and melt-in-your-mouth fatty - exactly what good bacon should be. For my main course I went with the Bone-In Ribeye and shared a side of Green Beans and Truffle French Fries with my co-worker. Now when your server tells you that sides are made for sharing he/she is not kidding. The table next to us had a side of Hash Browns and it looked big enough to feed a family of four for an entire week. My steak was a perfect medium, and very moist and flavorful. The Truffle Fries were crisp with a nice touch of earthiness, thanks to a generous topping of shaved white truffle. So far so good, right? Well here's the one thing that will keep me coming back to Manny's whenever I'm in Minneapolis. It's the KETCHUP! I can't live without the stuff, to the point where I stole a bottle from IHOP when I was in college - we'll save that story for another time. Sorry Heinz, but you've got nothing on Manny's ketchup. If they bottled it, I would buy it by the case. What's Manny's secret you ask? They make it themselves from smoked tomatoes (which I think they also do themselves) that gives this condiment fantastic touches of sweetness and smokiness that you won't find in any bottle. Naturally I had to have dessert so I went with the Banana Cream Pie. The serving looked bigger than an entire pie at Baker's Square and it was darn good. Creamy and rich, without being overly sweet. Now only if they had put some of that ketchup on it...

While dining at Oceanaire Seafood restaurant, I asked our server for a recommendation for a great steakhouse. He recommended Manny's. If stars were just given for the amount of food, Manny's would get 10! The portions are beyond huge, gigantic seems more accurate. We split the chopped salad and still had a full plate apiece. A friend and I ordered the steamed broccoli with hollendaise sauce for a side. We received three full heads of broccoli. My porterhouse steak must have been 20 ounces or so. I could barely eat half. The steak was unremarkable. I would have rather had a smaller portion, but more flavorful steak. I was nearly tempted to ask for steak sauce it was that bland. I ended up putting salt on it twice to try and kickstart some flavor. Service was OK. Our server had to be reminded of our drink order, bring side plates for the sides, etc. Perhaps it was just a bad night for him. The noise was also a turn off. We weren't on the dark paneled side of Manny's, but the more bright and perhaps louder side. I wouldn't come back again as prices are high ($44.95 for a porterhouse). If I'm going to pay that much for a steak, it needs to taste good, not bland.

We had a group of ten for dinner at Manny's this week. I'll break down my rating for you as the aggregate 3 stars may be misleading. Hostess/Seating: 2 stars, we had a reservation but were kept waiting in the bar for quite a while with no real update on the status of our table or any recognition that being 30m late with the table might be an issue?! Bar: Since I got to spend so much time there, I'll say the cocktails are good - well poured. The bar is a little hipster for my taste - the furniture looks cool but is totally uncomfortable. Table Service: Eight start. Our waiter, Danny was attentive, funny and the right balance of recommendations and guidance on the menu. Really did a nice job. Food: Obscene portions. I had the strip, had to have been 15 ounces or better, 2" thick. I ordered it medium rare and it was rare in the middle and well on the perimeter - I don't know how you get a good sear on a steak that size without using a thermonuclear reactor to get the middle right. The asparagus was large but tasty and cooked just right. The hash browns (apparently a signature item) were ho hum. The fried onion strings were fun and very tasty. I had the wedge salad and had about 1/2 cup of bleu cheese dressing on it - corresponded with the portions of meat! Dessert: We ordered brownies for the table and again it was about four pounds of sugar and flour. I didn't have any but the reviews were favorable. They got eaten up. Wine: The wine prices were reasonable and they had some unique bottles available. Atmosphere: The dining room is well lit. Not too loud but a very active environment. Very pleasing table set up with sufficient space around the table for comfort and privacy. It was expensive, but not crazy. We paid a little over $100/person with tips and plenty of wine. It worked well for our corporate team dinner but I have had better steaks. My neighbor at the table had a smaller cut and it looked well executed - maybe I should have steered clear from the giant cuts.

I suppose a semi-vegetarian like myself would be expected to blast a joint like this, but even if I did like the cow or the pig, this would not be one of my top joints. It's just so pretentious without really being satisfying. It's a Planet Hollywood-ized version of what could be a local landmark. And I can look down my nose at their continued use of dry-aged beef...grass-fed, it's where it's at...which would make The Strip Club the winner in my mental challenge. That being said, the restaurant plays at being a power lunch and dinner joint relatively well; however, if you were in that kind of mood, why not just go to Capital Grille and really get served? Our server was pleasant and friendly, even if he thought he was catering to a bunch of 20-year-old Ph.D. students (i.e., totally unhip). The ancillary staff were lightning fast at attending to our water glasses and crumbclearing needs. The food was just fine - I chose the fish, natch - but typically oversalted and heavy-handed. Many of the photos document horrifically tacky and questionable clothing and cosmetic decisions of past patrons, especially those of the silicone-endowed and Restylaned variety. I'm really sure that receptionist from Wayzata considers herself a starlet for "making it" on the walls of Manny's...but trust me, she is not...That's the draw, I guess. I think this restaurant, in the heart of downtown, is probably best appreciated by our suburban neighbors and tourists.

A friend and I booked a night at Manny's on a Monday evening. I ordered up the filet medium-well with two sides. The fact that they bring a cart to your table and show you the cuts of meats available including a live lobster is really neat. An experience in itself. The filet was uninspiring quality wise. There was some gristle and the steak arrived very, very pink. It wasn't medium-well even though I had them butterfly it. I've had much better steaks in terms of quality and taste at other fine dining establishments around the metro. ==6.5/10== The loaded mashed potatoes were delicious. Bacon, cheese and creamy potatoes, how can you go wrong? I recommend them! ==8.5/10== The mac-n-cheese was also pretty tasty, but the loaded potatoes ousted this Midwestern favorite by a smidgen. ==8/10== We then ordered dessert and the waiter made sure we were aware that one dessert fed two healthy growing boys. We obliged and ordered a single piece of cheesecake. This was the highlight of the evening (kind of sad for a steak joint). The MONSTER sized piece of cheesecake was absolutely delicious. The strawberries draped over it was just an added sweet touch. ==9/10== Be sure to get dessert if you insist on trying Manny's. Sorry Manny's, for your prices you better step up your game!

Came here again after a few years since my first visit. Still love the place. This time we just sat at the bar, had a few appetizers and drinks. We had a really good 1/2 dozen oysters, the mozzarella and tomato salad and some of the best beef carpaccio which is almost creamy super thin slices of raw beef mixed with a little oil, capers and rocket that you put on toasted slices of bread. Great drinks and super bar tenders that really take care of you. Yes this place is crazy expensive and everything is ala carte so prepare yourself. But makes for a great special evening once in a while thing.

Great food, place is too busy. My dining companion and I love Murray's so we had to try Manny's. Before we got seated for our 8:30 reservation, we started out the evening with a few cocktails in and around the restaurant. If it seems like this review is missing some things, that's why. They started us off with some bread that had caraway in it. That was very good. We ordered a small bowl of truffle fries. There was more fries in that bowl then any two humans can eat. They were awesome. I cannot identify the flavors but I know the truffle oil was perfect. I ordered a beet salad. I love beets, and the salad was pretty good. I prefer the beets to be a little more tart but the salad was still good. I ordered a pepper crusted NY Strip. I know all you purists are cringing, but I like some other flavors on the meat. The steak was HUGE, tasted great, and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I love to eat, and I'm some what of a glutton. But there was no way I could finish that steak. My dining companion had Cesar salad and pork chops. She said all was delicious. I can't comment; I did not try any of it. The service was great. Our server was attentive and good at making recommendations for wine and drinks, as well as desert. She was also that perfect balance of friendly and accommodating without being annoying. The one drawback- too loud. I was really busy and loud. I prefer a quieter place that's a little more low key. If you want to have a great meal, you can't go wrong at Manny's. It is a little expensive, but worth it to treat yourself or your honey. Remember to pace yourself on the cocktails or you might have to call your brother for a ride.

The "best" steakhouse in Minneapolis (from my polling of locals) is really nothing spectacular, especially considering the price point for this city. Yes, service was fine, although it didn't make any sense to wait with my reservation and open tables. But, more importantly, the filet was not and way too dry and tasteless. And I ordered medium-rare. A good steak should not need bernaise or whatever other sauce to make great as well. And if it is dry-aged, then it's certainly tastes like it was done for a day. As for the sides, the specialty hash-browns with onions is a total pass (tasteless and too oily). Never have I seen creamed spinach with full spinach leaves, is this a regional thing? Didn't fit the side dish name at least based on taste either. The better tasting things we had were the lobster cakes, shrimp scampi, and the Manny's (double layer) brownie a la mode dessert; but I don't need to pay comparatively high prices to eat this at a steakhouse. With those extremely large portions, such high prices, and with unimpressive food, it's something to remember not to come back to. I usually don't go to steak chains, but I'd go to Ruth's or Capital Grille over this.

I rarely give 5 stars but Manny's deserves it. Everything was outstanding! The service, the food, the atmosphere. Our server Donald was extremely attentive and helpful. We met the manager, Nick, and he was so friendly and welcoming also. The Bailey's cake for dessert was decadent and the perfect end to our wonderful meal! We will definitely return during our next trip to Minneapolis!

Always great service and food. Scott is an exceptional server!! Spinalis (aka Manny's Steak) is an excellent off the menu choice. And the Applewood bacon appetizer is my new favorite edging out the bone marrow.

being that steak is one of my favorite things to eat, i was really stoked to go to Manny's during my work training in town. Supposedly the best steakhouse in MN right? meh, not impressed at all...as a matter of fact, i was so not impressed with how my steak was done that i had to send back 4 times...I seriously felt horrible to do that to our waiter but he was such a trooper for handling so professionally with the situation. While on the other hand, the manager was the one who was not very fond of the case, he stood there and demanded me to cut the meat in front of him and walked away after. When one is at a steakhouse place like Manny's, your not only there to dine for the best meals, your also there to dine for the experience. The food can be wonderful, but if your service is not up to part, people will most likely not return. Long story short, in the end, i decided to change to another cut of meat and it was finally up to my standards...other than the main course, their hash browns, asparagus and their lemon cake is TO DIE FOR.

Just amazing. Maybe it's because we went with a regular. You know, the guy that fifteen different employees come up to and chat with during dinner; the guy that knows your waiter, and therefore the waiter comps the appetizer, drinks and dessert. It was a show. One big crazy experience. And yeah, I know the next time I go back won't be nearly as good (unless we go with "that guy" again), but seriously, it was great. Though the live lobster at the table freaked me out just a bit. Oh and the apple smoked bacon is the size of a steak.

Who would have thought that I would be eating the best steak I've ever had... in MN. Really... yeah me neither! WOW. This place is definitely a staple / a must if you're in MN... soooo glad we were able to check it out! Definitely make a reservation since the place is well worth the hype! Upon entering the vicinity, we got seated right away... I asked for a booth and I got one (via opentable and thank you for that!) Service was phenomenal! The place was busy but our server Kevin made sure that we were well taken cared for all throughout the night! Their cocktails are a must as well... Blackberry Mojito - wow... first time I've ever tasted it and it was delicious! They personally show you the types of meat... it was a bit overwhelming but just seeing the visual of it, helped with deciding what we could manage to really eat / consume. The boss and I ended up sharing the Double Cut Prime Rib which was suggested by Kevin (REALLY, thank you for that because per the images that I attached here on yelp, you'll see the size of that meat!!!) We also shared the Creamed Garlic Spinach and Macaroni and Cheese ... both side dish were delicious and made to perfection! Overall... yes... it is mighty expensive... but well worth every penny! To Kevin: you sir... rocked! Thank you for telling us how it is and all our suggestions were just perfect for us!

In all fairness, just wrote a subpar review of another Parasole restaurant, I would like to give my props to my fav. Manny's. Yes, it's over the top, expensive, and absurd. However, over the years, the service has always been exceptionally and consistently good, with the exception of one minor time. If you notice, the wait staff never turns over, most are career professionals wo proudly give exceptional service. And for steak lovers, especially dry aged prime steak lovers, Manny's knows how to cook them to perfection. My steak is consistently cooked the way I ordered it, unlike other steakhouses such as Cap Grill, and now defunct Morton's, which never could cook it to how I ordered. Manny's has mastered the art of cooking a steak to the desired temperature. If you're gonna drop 300 bones on a meal (including tax and tip), which I don't do often, this is the place to do it. I have before at other restaurants, walking away disappointed in the service, food, or even hungry. Don't get me wrong, I'm open to the whole executive chef dinning experience. However, usually it's all hype and a high dollar ticket that leaves you wondering what the big deal was. With the exception of Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill, most executive dinning chef places I've been to are all about name, without the eats or service to back up the expensive meal. But not at Manny's. Here the proof is in the pudding, and you can always walk away satisfied. The theater and dining experience is worth the price of admission. -------------------------- re reviewed April 21, 2011 ---------------------------- This used to be my fav spot...but lately the service has slipped and has become your typical over hyped restaurant. The last two times I went the steak was overcooked, which they replaced without any question, but they never used to overcook steaks. This used to be the one place where you consistently could get the steak cooked to your liking. And the service last time was mediocre if not borderline poor, which for Manny's anything less than spectacular wasn't allowed. I know beef prices have soared, but for $50 a steak, and service that isn't much different than going to Perkins, I would go other places before hittin this place up anytime soon. I don't mind paying $50 a steak if it's an exceptional experience, but Manny's is no longer exceptional, but is just another over the top typical steak house. Pains me to change my mind, cause it was one of the better places service wise and even food wise, the steaks are unmatched...However, just keepn it real, and lately I think there are better options such as Fogo, or even a BLG for an overall enjoyable dinning experience. -------------------------- re reviewed October 2011 ---------------------------- Not to sound manic, but I fell in love with Manny's again. This review seems like it's becoming a Manny's diary. However, when it's all said and done, Manny's has the best steaks which are truly prime and dry aged. If I have a hankering for steak, I choose Manny's. as far as my earlier knock on service, maybe it was just 2 isolated incidents because when it's great it's the best, and I guess one always has expectations for the best service at Manny's, which last time I went was great again. Seems like they are back on track.

First off, one thing you have to try is the bacon on the appetizer menu, it is truly insane. When I used to live in Minnesota and Manny's was at the Hyatt it could not be beat, but in the past year I have had to travel to Minnesota twice and ate here both times and was really disappointed. The bacon and the chips were perfect like always, but both times I ordered a NY strip medium rare. My first trip this year it came out basically medium well, it was so overcooked the brilliant taste of their steak was not there, and the second trip it came barely rare. It was the coldest my steak has ever been and it was impossible to eat. The service was also not what it used to be. I used to get treated like royalty there, and my last two trips I basically had to stand and yell to get the server over. Pretty sad because this was my Friday or Saturday night spot when I was in my 20's.

3.5 Stars. I did this dinner without alcohol due to a very important following day. That may have affected my review of this steakhouse, but in summary, I wasn't impressed. I split the porterhouse, which may have been a special (?), and it was tougher than I liked. The meat did not have the "wow" factor, and just seemed bland to me. The sides were alright, but nothing memorable. I really like the atmosphere, but feel like there's a better steak in Minneapolis.

Came in with a large group from out of town and we had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is conveniently located yet tucked away from the busy streets in Times Square. As soon as you spot the entrance you can see that you're definitely in for a treat. The staff was very friendly and courteous and sat us right away. We have a table downstairs where the music wasn't too loud and we can enjoy our meal. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the chilean sea bass with sides of the lobster mash potatoes, scalloped potatoes and veggies. There were too many sides to choose from and was glad I could choose from each of them since we ordered several for the table. Did I mention the service was PHENOMENAL? It wasn't just one or two waiters helping us, there were several that made sure our experience was flawless. They were going above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. I really wanted to enjoy the beautiful trio singing upstairs some more. I could hear their voices downstairs which were AMAZING! The music selection and group were A+ and I hope that during my next visit they will be there. Kudos for the management team and owners for focusing on quality, excellent service, and relaxing environment. All the things you look for in a perfect restaurant!

Service is a train wreck. Never do a business dinner here. We took 10-12 people to a customer / business dinner here the other night and it was horrific. To begin, it took forever to order some drinks. Then we got some bread (which wasn't very good). Then we waited forever again. Then, without asking everyone as the table -- it's noisy so we couldn't here -- the waiter agreed with one of the guys to bring some shared appetizers to the table. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't bother to figure out who was paying / hosting the dinner, so this was effectively rogue. Then it took forever for the appetizers to come. I got like one shrimp tail, a little hunk of smoke bacon (good) and a rather disgusted scallop benedict (just a bad idea to begin with). Then it took forever, forever to get the waiter to come back and take our dinner order. As usual, but even more so, the portion sizes are ridiculous / obscene. I had a bone-in rib eye, medium rare which came to me rare, rare and full of fat and gristle. I couldn't really eat it and -- unlike every other major steakhouse I've been to -- the waiter never came back right after serving to check the temperature on the meat. I didn't get to order any sides because, as usual, the waiter arranged that with someone at the table, without asking everyone and without consideration for who was paying. One steak, I think the baseball steak, came with garlic butter and there was literally a baseball-sized scoop of butter on top of it when it came. #disgusting Then it was dessert time. The portions are absurd again -- the key lime pie basically filled a dinner plate. Happily, people shared them. We had an after-dinner whisky and almost got sick because it was huge and I almost wonder if he snuck in a double rather than a single. Anyways, other than the worst steakhouse service I've ever had, portions that are over-the-top even for steakhouse, and the meal taking 4 HOURS with all the wasted time and invisible waitering, it was OK. #not

When I first arrived, I told the attendant that I made a reservation for two because that has been my experience that the Open Table app doesn't let you make a reservation for one but he said initially that they don't accept reservations for one but I could sit at the bar or at a table near the bar. I don't like sitting at the bar because I don't drink for one and another, the bar is usually noisier area. So I joked with the guy and said can't we pretend like I have an imaginary friend. He didn't seemed amused but allowed me to sit in the dinning area because it was 4pm. I never had this issue at Mortons or Ruth Chris. The Applewood Bacon was really good. The porterhouse was rare like I prefer but tasted really old. I ordered shoe string onion side hopping for a taste like onion rings but should have got the hash browns. Service was great otherwise.

Manny's is a well-known, upscale restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. You expect five-star quality and service, because you pay a five-star price. Why then, did I give it three stars? Short answer: a poor dining experience. Long answer: Our party of five, celebrating a birthday, had already eaten dinner elsewhere in downtown and were following a suggestion to have a famous Manny's dessert to satisfy our collective sweet tooth. Not knowing any better or thinking anything of it, we walked into Manny's and requested a table for five at the host desk. (In hindsight, we should've asked to sit in the W hotel "Living Room" and ordered our dessert from there. I'm sure the host would've asked us to do that, if we had made our intentions known. We simply didn't think anything of it, being a Tuesday night.) The dining room was completely full of people enjoying their dinners. Upon telling our waiter that we just wanted dessert, he was dismayed and immediately informed us that the dining room was "dinner-only" at that time. Not helping matters, one of our party told the waiter that we wanted a free dessert for our birthday guest. I think it was supposed to be a joke, but the waiter left and upon returning said that the manager refused to accommodate the "request". He then informed us again that the dining room was for people who wanted to eat dinner. We all agreed that we felt terrible about the mistake and would've felt more comfortable if they had just asked us to leave, at that point. Maybe we should've got up and left. Instead, we ordered the brownie with strawberries -- which was as delicious and large as advertised. The waiter proceeded to comment at least three additional times to the effect that we were not welcome to the seats that we were occupying. We ate our dessert, paid and left in a timely manner. Has this experienced ruined my perception of Manny's? No. I'm likely to return someday, and have dinner. I've heard many wonderful things about the food. But it was a poor experience, nonetheless.

Still five stars!! Manny's never disappoint! I could have had dined here three more times with work, but I was always out of town for other business that I had to miss it. I missed it once to go to UYE with other Yelpers. Now tell me that wasn't love. I missed out on free steak for my Yelper friends! They're so worth it. However, I wasn't about to miss another one. Though I was really tired after driving 5 hours from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I talked myself into going. I had a thought of bailing several times since the dinner was so late as well. Glad I went!! We went to celebrate some of the top performers at work. They really did a phenomenal job and deserved the bludgeon of beef!! We were treating them like they just won an Olympic medal. It was that good. Well, one guys was a body builder and Mr. Minnesota at one time. Competition was thick on this table. We started off with a couple plates of the amazing bacon appetizer. I can't say bacon without saying Sam W's name. He would totally scream lawwdy on this bacon. So great! We also ordered Scallop Benedicts, a couple dozens of Blue Point Oysters, 2 gigantic lobster tails, and 2 colossal shrimps cocktails. We should have been full after the appetizers but we marched on. When our steaks came, the feast started all over again. Mr. Minnesota was shy at first ordering the Flintstone steak aka Bludgeon of Beef which was basically a big ass rib eye with a whole rib bone. That steak must have weighed at least 5-6 pounds! The other guys ordered double porterhouse, a couple filets, and I ordered the bone in filet. Bone in filet is the way to go. It's so flavorful and there are only two of this in each cow. It's so expensive but like I said... If you aren't paying, it's time to order it. If you are paying - the NY strip here has the best value. We also ordered the hash brown with onion, mac and cheese, mushroom, broccoli, and some fried shrimps. My filet was overcooked. At first I was just going to suck it up and eat it because I was hungry. It was closer to medium than medium rare. I just really couldn't stand dried pink steak. My boss looked at me and said that if we were paying this much for a steak, I'd better be not less than ecstatic about it. Gaby, our server, convinced me that it was totally fine and it would be really really quick to fire up another one. They brought me a new one pretty quickly and it was red and juicy. Yeah!!! She really did an amazing job taking care of our table all night. Considering there were only 2 pieces of bone in filet in a cow, damn.. I powned that cow. Dessert time! Manny's brownie, cheesecake, banana cream pie, and bread pudding. Those desserts were so huge huge huge! Eight of us couldn't finish it. It was a great ending to a feast. Not every day you got to eat like this and somebody else forked the $3000 to pay for it. For that much money, I do think Manny's deserved every penny. I have never had less than stellar meal here even though there was mishap. The key was they made it right. If you saw my steak house list, this girl knows steak and I put Manny's towards the top of that list always.

Manny's Steakhouse proves that life really is good at the top of the food chain. I actually came across Manny's online while researching where to eat in Minneapolis online. They were named one of the 10 Best Steakhouses in the World by Men's Journal on top of countless other awards and every local I spoke to placed Manny's brand of dry aged steak on their red meat mantel. I figured this was a slam dunk from the start and guess what? I was right. Manny's is your prototypical chophouse featuring white linen clad tables, light and airy wood everywhere the eye can see and home to perhaps the best waiter line up in the Twin Cities. These guys seemed to impress on all fronts. Then there is the actual product: USDA-certified, dry-aged, and center-cut. all of the steaks are hand-trimmed to exacting specifications and then charred to perfection in a salamander broiler. This is how it is meant to be done folks. My brought forth a gigantic meat cart featuring all of the days offerings while whimsically providing advice on what to expect with each cut. The Porterhouse seemed like the go. I mean a Filet and a New Your Strip? Oh, hell yes. Then the waiter offered a double Porterhouse cut table side for family style enjoyment. "Thank you sir, that will do just fine and throw in order of those Truffle Fries I spied for some high end Steak Frites action". (Note: The Porterhouse was so monstrous it has its one temperature scale thanks to thickness. Medium will result in a Rare and Medium Plus will net a Medium Rare. Order accordingly and know that the wait person will warn you of this while ordering) About twenty minutes passed and the hulking slab of Beef was set before us. It was truly majestic and brought a tear to my carnivorous eye. Charred to perfection outside, a cool red middle. The dry aging process produces this think and nutty ambrosia that will permeate your soul. And then there is the taste itself. Nutty turns to perfectly savory and the charred crust adds the perfect depth to the mouthfeel. That Porterhouse was most certainly on par with Pete Luger's in Brooklyn and CUT here in SoCal. Perhaps...better? The Truffled French Fries were also no laughing matter as they provided more punch than Floyd Mayweather in the company of a woman. Thick cut Truffle slivers guarantees the luscious flavor of the world's greatest mushroom in every bite. It is also important enough to mention the fries themselves were deep fried perfectly. Paired with a locally handcrafted Fulton IPA you have a perfect Steak dinner. I was enamored with Manny's style, service and cuisine and would highly recommend a stop to anyone that happens to be traveling to Minneapolis. The locals are already quite aware of what I am talking about.

This is a destination eatery. If you don't enjoy this place, go for councelling. Easy to over order, the steaks are massive. Tried to be the show off and overate here often during various business dinners. Pick any steak - all top shelf stuff, but order the bacon appetizer. Just do it. And the loaded hashbrowns were a group favorite. Not a first date place, make sure she has seen u eat before jumping in with both feet here. Waiters are fun, they know their menu and want big tips to go along with the big price. Well worth it. Eat up, pay up.

35 plus minutes to get cauliflower that never came. Got our check and they said "we didn't charge you for the cauliflower ". Really?!!! Thanks because it never came! Ridiculously pathetic service for a supposed high end steak house!

Ultra high end steak house featuring colossal food and colossal prices to match. A friend and I stopped in for our annual "guys night out" Christmas splurge leaving spouses and family at home. After all, christmas comes but once a year. I should clarify and note we made reservations-a month out as this place, like most restaurants, is super busy at the holidays. Manny's has been a feature in the twin cities for a while now and moved to its current location in the uber hip W hotel in the iconic Foshay Tower smack dab in down town Minneapolis. When you dine here you can expect top notch service-the kind of place that almost refills your water after every sip-and premium quality food. Ever since they opened one of their bits of table-side theatre is presenting all their food raw at table side to assist you in ordering. Expect to see hugmungous hunks of beef (wrapped in plastic) monstrous veggies and probably a 5 lb live lobster. Remember everything is al a carte but it's ok to share (unless you are with a colleague in which case expect to have leftovers). While the food is top quality and the service suberb, I just think this place has gotten way to expensive. I ordered a "small" filet - still around 8 ounces - which was one of the cheaper steaks on the menu and the price was over $50. They have some monster steaks that exceed $100. Remember, again, everything's a la carte so my friend and I with a bottle of wine, 2 steaks, shared the small hashbrowns and a shared piece of pecan pie - the bill for the two of us was almost $300 before tip. I'm sorry but I can get great steaks at lots of places and will even on occassion spend $100 per person for a similar meal at JD Hoydts or Capital grill but Manny's is just too pricey for me now. So unless you are entertaining clients and someone else is paying the bill, make sure you have ample room on your credit card when you dine at Manny's.

I just went to Manny's for the first time. We were celebrating the last day of work for a co worker. I am glad I had a reservation because we arrived 15 minutes early and still had to wait until the exact reservation. They were jam packed for lunch but the wait staff was prompt with every request we made. I had the cobb salad, it was huge and wonderful, loaded with chicken, bacon, blue cheese and red onions. Our table split the loaded hash browns which I would recommend. 2 pounds of hash with bacon covering the top, then cheese and sour cream. The bread at the table was very good and refills were plentiful. I have not had the steak there but there are many selections for non steak eaters. The decor is very cool, reminds me of the Godfather. I will go again. Check it out if you are downtown for lunch!

Wow! This place is GOOD! Reminded my fiance and I of Mastros but just a little more casual inside. The food there is GOOD! HUGEEEE portions. We came to MN for the weekend (Thurs to Sun) and we had dinner here Thursday AND Saturday, that is how much my fiance loved this place. We were staying in the W so it was nice to have such a great restaurant right in the lobby. Very busy and great atmosphere. The servers are AMAZING and very accommodating. Everything we tried both nights were amazing, and oh my the dessert insane! If you are in Minneapolis you MUST go to Manny's!

Start to finish, Manny's hits all the high notes. I brought my friend here for a double celebration dinner. It was almost her birthday and I had just sold my dad's house. This calls for a classy joint, and Manny's is just the place! Despite not having reservations, we were seated immediately. We started off by ordering drinks, she the An Epiphany cocktail and I the Of Love & Lust. Both were excellent in their own way, but I typically prefer sweeter drinks and would go with what she got next time. It was not only tasty, but beautiful too. Our waitress was well versed in meat, as one would expect from this type of establishment, and carefully described each cut available that night. They wheel out a cart with beef, pork, seafood, and other options to show you exactly what you'll be getting. My dining companion picked out the Small Filet Mignon and I went with the Bone-in Ribeye. Both of us were happy with our respective choices and they were cooked to perfection. I'm still a bit skeptical of restaurants that charge a regular entrée price for what would be an included side elsewhere; however, the Vegetables and Potatoes portions we received wiped away any doubt about ordering them. We went with the Asparagus/Hollandaise, served with a decadent sauce, and the Macaroni and Cheese. There was more than enough of everything we ordered to bring home food for another day. Manny's went above and beyond when it came to dessert. They brought out a giant slice of Baileys Cake on the house. We couldn't have been happier. If you're not rolling in dough, this is strictly a special occasion spot. If you're ordering drinks, sides, entrées, and desserts, expect to pay around $100 per person. That being said, it's absolutely worth it!

I can't believe I'd never been to Manny's until now. I had the opportunity this past winter with my work. And so begins the ordering breakdown - SIDES: Portabella Fries - Get them! Face size Portabella mushrooms are lightly battered to create a crunchy and juicy fry, and they're stacked Jenga style! I forgot how much liquid mushrooms can contain, be cautious biting into them. Scallops Benedict - nom Loaded Mashed Potatoes - Ugh too salty for me. I think it was the bacon bits, like so salty in some bites I wanted to spit it out BUT people rave about this item. Macaroni and Cheese - A little on the dry side, I can get better m&c at Kowalski's deli. Asparagus/Hollandaise - How can go you wrong with something that has Hollandaise on it... Garlic Creamed Spinach - Could I get this in a trough please? STEAK: Great ribeye steak, like superb. One of the best cuts of meat and flavoring I've had in years, sorry Capital Grill. DESSERT: Key Lime Pie - Meh I've had better. Too much acidity. This could be my sensitive buds and the fact that I just want to be in the Florida Keys when I have this dessert. Truly every bite was followed by a little cringe that comes with having something that's too sour. Service - 6 stars. Manny's is a well oiled machine that caters to the business crowd. If you want to feel like a boss, this is your place. Food - 4 stars. I loved some items, my steak, and was disappointed by others. There was a lot of hype around certain side dishes and it might have been too much for me.

Manny's is awesome! Great food. Great service. I had the Delmonico and it was the best steak I have had in years. Bring your wallet!

Great service, wonderful steak, but watch out if you get the brownie dessert! OMG. Might suggest just coming for dessert next time.

Meat and Potatoes. And LOTS of it. If you aren't into red meat, seafood options are also fantastic! Some fav's are the scallops benedict, lobster cakes and shrimp cocktail. I also love the sides! The loaded hashies are to die for! Aside from the food, what I love most is the service and atmosphere. It isn't pretentious or stuffy and it is excellent for large groups. In fact, the more the merrier! My gfs and I had our annual Christmas gift exchange here and our server was so attentive and even brought cocktails from the W's living room bar. I've dined here over 20x's and the presentation of the meat cart never gets old. It's all part of the magnificent dining experience at Manny's!

Amazing amazing steaks, great ambiance! I loved the idea of the steak cart, helps you choose. The peppercorn crusting i'd asked for came out perfect. It is an expensive place, but you're getting great steaks for that price too. It's worth the hype created around it being one of the best around.

This place was the epitome of a classic steakhouse and it was most definitely delicious. Had the small filet mignon, while my dining partner had the porterhouse. We shared the asparagus/hollandaise, and bacon and were not disappointed. To top it off, they had pretty fantastic drinks and we were given a complimentary giant chocolate and ice cream concoction, which was a combination of amazing and overwhelming. I would most certainly return.

Got the New York Strip and it was cooked and crusted to perfection. A perfect steak. A negative was it was one of the most expensive menus i have ever seen. Also the hash brown was impressive looking but it was gross, had better at slip Greek breakfast joints. Also ordered the asparagus which was just too huge, I favor a smaller size of asparagus. Also the bread pudding was a huge loser, served in a wine glass and just was way too boozy. Waiter was good. House Cabernet was decent Went there the next day bc I had to eat 1 lb of King Crab Legs for $100. The next highest I have ever seen it was $65. I first got the $20 bacon app and it is as close to orgasm from a food you can get. Then I got the crab legs and the waiter de shelled them in front of me and they were the best I ever had. So I am bumping it to 4 stars.

Absolutely best steak I have ever had in my life! It was tender, juicy and had minimal fat. The hash browns are a must- awesome potato goodness. The spinach is another favorite, it has a rich cream that is absolutely divine. The King Crab is also great, but you do get a lot of it. The one thing that I am not super crazy about is the asparagus. They are too big for my taste. The service is great. They will crack your crab for you and are happy to go over the menu with you. Great atmosphere. Just know that you have to be willing pay a lot of money, try not to cry when the bill comes. The food is defiantly worth the money!

Husband and I went for our anniversary. We knew going in that it would be an expensive evening. We ordered shrimp cocktail, roasted bone marrow, bone-in ribeye, the porterhouse, mushrooms, asparagus, and key lime pie. The shrimp cocktail was fantastic! The shrimp were large and delicious, the cocktail sauce had fresh ground horseradish. The bone marrow was amazing, first time ever having it, and I'll definitely order it again. I can understand now why my dogs go ape over bones. The steak- maybe my palate isn't used to aged steak, but I've had much better. Key lime was awesome. I don't know that I'd go back, but the service was good and overall it was a great night. Would rather go to fogo de chao or the butcher and the boar.

Phenomenal food, top notch service, and a price tag to match. When you see prices like Manny's you nothing less than the best in every aspect, and they certainly deliver. The food was delicious, with the standout being the seafood tower. Oysters, lobster, crab legs, shrimp...it was to die for! But of course, the main attraction was the steak, and let me just say that it was perfection. I was only passing through Minneapolis, but if I ever get the chance to return, I'll try my best to return.

Damn good steak! Expensive, but awesome. I was solo, so I ate at the bar. The bartenders were great, really good guys. Great ambience, but be prepared to spend lots of $$$. I'd do it again.

Came here for a brunch over the holidays. First time I've been here. Had Eggs Benedict and toast. The toast had a nice charred wood fire taste to it. It was all very good. Atmosphere was nice. Orange juice was concentrate instead of fresh squeezed. At a place of this caliber, I would expect fresh squeezed. Was surprised it was not. Wish there was a lower carb option as a side to the eggs besides mixed fruit or potatoes. I will be back to try this place for dinner sometime.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated very well. We were seated early, before our reservation. Our server was fun and upbeat, with great knowledge about all the food and drinks on the menu. He helped us to select the appropriate sides, for example, not doubling up potatoes. Our food arrived quickly, and every bite of the steak was deliciously tender and flavorful, cooked top perfection! The side dishes were gigantic in portion, but also very delicious. After the meal, I was debating about dessert, and before I could put in my order, the server came back with a slice of chocolate cake, as a kind gesture. The cake was heavenly, scrumptious chocolate cake, drizzled with more chocolate, and served with real whipped cream. Both the experience and the meal ranked 5 starts to me! I'll be visiting again when in Minneapolis.

Probably the best veal I've ever had. It's expensive, and it takes a little time, but it tastes so good! Very clean, and the wait staff was very nice.

While visiting some friends in MN, we decided to hit up this special steakhouse - as we like to indulge in food when we hang out. Usually I'm not a fan of places that are attached to hotels, but don't let that scare you away, apparently this is a very popular steakhouse in Minneapolis and is where many locals go out, whether that be for special occasions or business lunches, and I suppose those of us who are able to afford it more than just here and there. We were running a bit late, as traffic in Minneapolis can be terrible, but also because of something called snow - but they were very kind to hold our table for 15-20 minutes as we made our way there. Everyone ordered some salad and many of us shared - I shared a caprese which I found okay at best - they certainly do not skim on the balsamic or the mozzarella - but I didn't think the tomatoes were great and thought they could have upgraded their balsamic to a nicer, richer one and used a little less, but oh well. I ordered the bone in ribeye - rare plus - and mmm it was good. A touch on the salty side, but I was also just getting a bit sick and I always find that foods are a bit salty when I get sick, so that could have just been a sickness thing. It was perfectly charred on the outside and perfectly rare plus on the inside, nice tasting cap and nicely marbled piece of steak. We ordered a hoard of sides to share, loaded mashed potatoes (they were indeed filled to the brim with sour cream, cheese, chives, and pork belly sliced and crisped like bacon - pretty good), creamed spinach (creamy and fresh - a little under-seasoned and so so comparatively speaking), mac and cheese (rich, cheesy, and creamy - i like this one a lot), and asparagus with hollandaise (super large king sized asparagus spears with a pretty good hollandaise). Moving on to dessert - we ordered the bourbon bread pudding even though we were warned that it was very boozy - in fact it comes out in a very large glass, where they warm some bourbon, pour in several shots and then put a large piece of piping hot bread pudding - um yes please! In fact since we had joked with the waiter, at one point he brought out a bottle of Makers Mark and a glass to go with our dessert...protocol for this? not sure, but it certainly sparked some conversation at our table! Service was good, the table was a bit small, but once we started eating, I didn't notice too much. Overall the ambiance was nice, very lively and the lighting wasn't too dark, which I despise when you can't even see your food. And lets be honest, I'm a fan of any steakhouse that puts a cow on their website. Weird, maybe, but it certainly got me in the mood for a steak dinner!

Damn. Just went there to celebrate another birthday, and this visit was definitely a big disappointment compared to my previous visits to Manny's. While the customer service was impeccable, the steak was way too rare (for a medium rare) and the FAT was cold and WHITE. Marbling should melt off in the steak, and to have undercooked fat showed you how rare and undercooked it was. Had it not been my husband's birthday, I would have sent it back (too embarrassed to ruin his big night). Also disappointed in the asparagus - slightly under salted. The loaded hash browns weren't half as good as the previous loaded mashed potatoes. Overall, really disappointed compared to my previous 3-4 visits. That said, the Bailey's chocolate cake that was comp'd for his birthday? Spot on delicious. Thank you for that! Overall, disappointed this time for a $99 steak. Justine

Manny's was such a surprise! Great food, good service, great wine! Amazing time! As you walk in you will see the walls adorned with photos that have eaten there. They also have a coat check which is more than necessary in this frigid weather. I started off with the raspberry mojito an it was delicious! The raspberry purée was outstanding and just enough alcohol to get you in the mood :) They gave us a bread bowl but I wish it were warm. It was delicious though and the butter was rich and creamy... How is it that practically no one has mentioned the scallops Benedict?! I mean, it was out of this world amazing! It's definitely going on my last meal on earth list! It was super creamy and the scallops were cooked to perfection! The hollandaise sauce was soaked into the brioche and the apple smoked bacon just rounded out the dish perfectly!! Hubby got the ribeye and I got the porterhouse. They were both aged and cooked to perfection. There was so much flavor to the ribeye and it practically melted in your mouth!! My hubby was sad about the three bites of steak I stole from him because he didn't want to share his delicious steak! We also order the mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The mashed potatoes were really creamy, no lumps and perfectly made. The Brussels sprouts weren't that great; mannys what about deep frying those suckers and skip the balsamic sauce. Try a lemon sauce and I think you'll have a winner on your hands! Service was amazing! I felt well taken care d. He didn't bother us during our meal and they always filled up our cups. They comped me a mojito (said they made an extra) and we got the Irish Bailey cake dessert too :) Mannys, we really had a wonderful time! We can't wait to go back!! Thank you for a wonderful night!!

OMG, one word OBSCENE prime rib (in only the best and most incredible sense). This was the kind of prime rib dinner that in the future you hold all others to compare! My husband and I are from out of town and were recommended to try Manny's for the best steaks. That is definitely what we got! The double prime rib is about $40 and worth every shiny copper penny! Cooked to perfection, the outside was crisp and flavorful while the inside was juicy and red. (I like med. rare). We ordered a side of loaded mashed potatoes (smothered in sour cream, cheddar cheese, chives with ginormis CHUNKS of crispy bacon (I do mean chunks, not crumbled slices). I had to add a healthy veggie in there so we opted for the creamed spinach, (I'm getting chest pains just remembering this meal). My only regret is I didn't have room for dessert. If ever I come back to Minneapolis, Manny's will be my first meal!

PROS: Manny's will always hold a special place in my-heart- It was where I first learned what REALLY GOOD steak tastes like 12 years ago. Before that, my definition of good steak was Cattle Company. Sad but true. They focus on making the whole experience quite unique from the moment you sit down. Service is fantastic and the steak is one of the best you'll have in MSP. CONS: Lunch was terrible. After all these years of hearing about how great their lunch is, I finally made it there and was thoroughly disappointed. Overpriced and the food quality was literally below average. Stick with dinner. PARKING: You can either pay for Valet or find street parking which is always a challenge downtown. All-in-all, this one of the places you can take someone visiting Minneapolis to "wow" them. The service is great, the ambiance is great and the steak is awesome.

When I mentioned to my colleague that I was meeting a friend here, he told me that I would have a great time. And he said that there was no way that I could expense a Manny's dinner as it was way over our daily limit. He was right on both. Our service was top notch and I can't remember ever having a better waiter and his crew of helpers anywhere on land. Jim was absolutely excellent. Starting with getting our drink orders, then Jim clearly explained the options for the night. The "meat cart" was loaded with all sorts of interesting options (including a live lobster - ew) and I decided that the New York Strip was my choice for the night. My friend had one as well and with just two of us, we went with two sides - the sauteed mushrooms and the (massive!) loaded potato hash brown casserole. Thankfully, that latter was only a half portion because it was more than enough. Water glasses and drinks were steadily kept maintained. When the food arrived, it was plated and presented extremely well. I did have to remind Jim to bring me the horseradish I requested (try some with a steak - you'll enjoy it) but that was the only fault. The steak was perfect. Despite being a rather big piece of meat, it was perfectly cooked. Medium rare as I requested, I've had trouble with it at other places. Not here. Nicely charred on the outside, the inside was exactly the right color and texture I wanted. And there was SO MUCH OF IT. I finally threw in the napkin about halfway through and took the steak, some mushrooms and a good gob of the hashbrowns and had it all for lunch the next day. The check arrived and, well, it was pretty stunning. Just the two of us with a few drinks and the dinner, it was $240. Even split, with a $25 tip, we're still at $140. Ouchies. Totally delish and I would return, but next time on a project with a better expense account! #3000!

Public Service Announcement: I don't eat red meat. Judge my review accordingly. I went to Manny's for a college graduation dinner with my friends. We were all ending our 4-year stint with jobs so we figured we would go crazy and have a lavish dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that our waiter didn't seem to care that we were a group of young 20-somethings; he still gave us the outstanding service to be expected at such a high-end restaurant. Our group shared a lot of sides, including the loaded mashed potatoes, asparagus and hash browns, which added a fun element to the classy meal. Everyone in our group got steaks, with the exception of my best friend and me. I opted for the sliced tomato and mozzarella salad (because they refuse to call it a Caprese) which was good. As if the steaks weren't enough to leave you full for a week, Manny's offers the most enormous desserts in town. Our group of eleven shared the cheesecake, hot fudge sundae and Manny's brownie with strawberries. They could have lasted me a year, but my word were they delicious. As I warned, my review is from a pseudo-vegetarian perspective. My friends all loved their steaks and I think the reputation speaks for itself, but steer clear if you love cows.

This is my second time here and I can't say enough good things about the steaks here. Melt in your mouth DELICIOUS!! I dream about the steak here. When I want steak....this is the first place I think of. Tonight I ordered the Baseball Steak and my date ordered the Bone-in-ribeye both medium rare. Perfection I tell ya. Perfection. Oh...did I mention it was melt in your mouth delicious?!!! BECAUSE IT IS.

If you want grass-fed, Midwest, steak - then this is the place to go. This place is a very classic steakhouse. The dining room is simple and clean, with white walls and cowhide to complement, and the bar is darker with red-checked tablecloths. I can't complain about my meal - it was delicious. For drinks, I started with the Irish Cock n' Bull - a delicious whiskey and ginger cocktail. It was made very well, the ginger taste came through with the lemon and lime wedges, the whiskey wasn't overly strong. For appetizers, we ordered the portabella fries - delicious. The are very thick cut and you actually can taste the portabella, it's not diluted by the breading. Dipping sauce isn't even necessary. For salads, our party of 5 split the wedge and the seasonal goat cheese and beet salad. The beet salad was phenomenal, however, quite small for 5. We really only got about 2 forkfuls each. The wedge salad was equally phenomenal with exceptionally creamy bleu cheese and large "bacon-bits" - cubed Nueski's bacon. There was no shortage of bacon and bleu cheese. However, I was unimpressed that it was cut into 4 pieces when we had 5 people at our table. This seemed like oversight on the waiter's part and so we had to order a 2nd wedge salad just so we could all have a taste - in my opinion we should have had the 2nd salad comped as we were not told it would be cut into 4 pieces. I split the 12 oz filet with someone at the table. It was done perfectly - we asked for Medium, and the middle was still very pink and hot - not dried out or overdone at all. The chefs definitely know how to make a steak perfectly here. The table also split a side of mac n' cheese with bacon added in - delectable. The mac n' cheese alone is great, however, the bacon should always be suggested - it is a great addition and gives an extra crunch and lots of extra smokey flavor. Dessert: I'd highly recommend the banana cream pie, it is so smooth with a whipped like consistency and strong banana flavor. The hazelnuts are a great addition to give a crunch. The caramel sauce was creamy, buttery and had a slight toffee flavor to it, definitely made-from-scratch, this is not just your melted caramel square kind of sauce. The key lime pie was fine, however, it did not blow me away. I think the flavor was too mild for my liking, I really like a strong tangy-lime and did not get a bold flavor from this dessert. All in all, a great dining experience. We have had waiters in the past that have seemed to check in on the table more and make more recommendations. But the customer service here really is top-notch. I would like to see Manny's have grass-fed options, however, based upon the very traditional aspect of this steak-house, I don't foresee that being anytime soon, if ever. I think it would be advantageous for them, as quality grass-fed beef is in high demand.

It's probably about time I do a review on Manny's. I've been going here regularly for many years- primarily back in my single days. I liked to see the boys shell out big bucks on our dates; I'm kinda naughty like that. Anywho, now that I'm an old married lady, the hubs and I like to have a fancy-pants date night once a month. After getting hooked on the Capital Grille about a year ago, I'm pretty much over Manny's. Yes, the food is good, occasionally even amazing. When they bring out a live lobster the size of my torso, I'm impressed. Among my faves: seafood tower appetizer, beet salad, any filet or Porterhouse they've got, sautéed mushrooms and asparagus. Also, if you're there celebrating something special, they give you a free dessert. In my experience, their specials are delicious 100% of the time. Fresh fish on special? Order it up! The service is hit and miss. Sometimes it seems as though the wait staff has too many tables to manage. The ambiance is terrible. It's loud and crowded; they often run late on reservations. There is the occasional local celebrity sighting if you're into that type of thing. The food, in my opinion, is no better than other fancy-pants places in town. And personally, I like hanging out in places where I can hear what my handsome gentleman caller has to say.

The best Ribeye steak in all of Minnesota. Always cooked to perfection with a nice charred crust. Everything at this place is Paul Buynon sized so be ready for left overs. The staff is always super attentive and willing to customize anything you order to your liking. Get the hashbrowns and the asparagus as sides, you won't be disappointed. Oh and did I mention they have a giant slab of bacon as an appetizer? Oh and it's the most delicious bacon you will ever eat! Go now!

Stopped in for brunch this morning after we found out the way at Hell's Kitchen was 1.5 hours. After checking Yelp for some suggestions, we walked down the block to Manny's. Brunch was great. Upon arriving, slices of apple coffeecake were brought to our table. For entrees, I ordered the egg white omelet and the other two people in my group ordered the Manny's omelet. Omelets are made with 3 eggs come with choice of potatoes or fruit and toast. My omelet was good, but the Manny's omelet was definitely the favorite at the table- the omelet is stuffed with beef, chicken sausage, bacon, asparagus, onion, mushroom, tomato, and cheddar. I kept stealing bites off of others' plates because it was so delicious (and huge)! Prices were really reasonable and there was no wait at 11am on a Sunday. I will definitely be going back for brunch again soon.

Say what, 2 for 1 mimosa's. Sounds like a good way to start off a brunch. I must say it was an EPIC brunch. My eyes and stomach was very pleased with everything. Prior to our food coming out we were given coffee cake (I believe that's what it's called). It was really good, not to dry and not to sweet. Just as quickly as it was brought to the table it also disappeared within the same time frame. We decided to get the lobster cakes, since so many people rave about it as well as our server. The masses were correct, it was freaking amazing! There were 2 huge cakes packed with chunks and chunks of lobster meat. Next time around I might just have to get this app as my meal with a side; it seriously was a lot of food and that good. The lobster benedict and country omelet came out a few minutes afterwards. Each meal had generous portions of everything, even the meats (lobster/chicken sausage), so every bite had a little of everything in it. Everything smelled, looked and tasted good. The only bad thing I have to say about this meal is the fact that I didn't have enough room in my stomach to eat it all; a to-go box was in order. The next morning I had my 2nds and it tasted just as good as it did the day before. The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive (never an empty glass, whether it is my water or my mimosa). Parking is restricted to street parking or nearby ramps. I would definitely recommend going here for brunch. Be warned thought it does add up quickly and will become quite a costly brunch. Luckily for me it was all paid via gift card

I tend to think of myself decent gauge of a good cut of meat. Manny's absolutely blew me away with their selection, prices, and service; not to mention my first time eating there was with Manny himself! Why did it take so long to try this place after living her for years? Good question! I don't have an answer but I'm glad I did. I have had both their signatue New York Strip and their 85-Day aged bone-in ribeye and couldn't be more impressed. Although I have to say the New York Strip was the far better bargain as the taste was right on par with the more expensive option. As for the sides, they good serving size for sharing and wil fill you up quick, save room for the main attraction though. I would have to say that the only thing better than the food itself at Manny's is the service. The staff are phenomenal and truly have their game faces on. The atmosphere is nice, but not stuff, which is how a steakhouse should be. Of all the steakhouses I have been to across the world, this one has certainly been my favorite...considering it's right in my backyard, that's a home-run.

I had high hopes for Manny's steakhouse. I love steak, I'm a consultant so I get to travel all over the world trying different cuisine, so I feel like I'm at least a decent judge of food. My boyfriend suggested I try Manny's and I agreed, wow, I was really surprised on how blah the steak was, I was very underwhelmed with my bone-in filet minion and my boyfriend also felt the same about his 65 day aged New York. The cocktails were great! As well as our service, we loved our waitress. After spending 300.00 for dinner for two, I can honestly say I wouldn't come back.

Ok, I've eaten at Manny's a LOT (granted, not as much as my friend Tina...), but I keep going back :-) The service is amazing, it's always consistent with every visit. My most recent visit (Nov 2013) I was celebrating my birthday (ironically with my friend Tina...who has the same birthday!) we ordered ourselves the porterhouse with the largest side of hash browns. Everything at Manny's is bigger, in many cases better and seems to always be served with a steak knife stabbed into your food (even CAKE!). As always, my porterhouse was served to spec (medium), seasoned well (not overwhelming and not there) and well rested. I'm a big fan of the porterhouse at Manny's, I've tried other cuts, but porterhouse is where it's at. Don't forget to order a side of hash browns, great pairing with your steak and always cooked how you want (extra crispy). Finally, order the Bailey's Cake, it's fantastic and you will NOT be disappointed.

I took my wife out for an early birthday dinner. We ordered shrimp cocktail, two 85 day aged steaks, roasted calliflower and cocktails. The shrimp and cocktails were perfect. The steak came medium-rare when we ordered it medium. We have never had this problem before. We should have just have ordered a new steak but I suggested we just cook it for a few more minutes but I knew it would not rest properly. Mistake. The calliflower was strange. It came raw and barely roasted with cheese at the bottom. It was hard to get to the cheese and hard to eat. Don't order this. She wanted to eat the steak but we just sent it away and went home. We still love Manny's but make sure you get what you want when you order a $90 dollar ribeye steak.

Expensive, but I guess "you get what you pay for." This restaurant was a favorite of my parents for many years. Now that they are in the new location the atmosphere matches the food. Service as always was excellent. Food top notch. Realistically, plan on spending about $100 per person. Is it worth it? For myself, probably not on an ongoing basis, but it is certainly a good option for that special meal. We did have a slight issue with one steak, which they quickly remedied. Worth going to at least once. However, I have to admit that fogo de chao is a less expensive and very good option.

Incredible! Aged beef and great sides. Service was spot on. We split a steak just because it was huge. Mac and cheese pretty much the best I have ever had. Only down fall was the price. But good food is worth it.

Excellent food and service, steaks big as roasts. The Caesar salad is the best I've had lately. Lobster cakes were good just not great like the beef! I guess you can't go wrong when you pay $75 just for a filet, it better be good!

We had an 80 minute ordeal and that's not counting dessert because we decided not to waste any more time waiting. There was one other table in the place that was occupied so I don't know what the holdup was. The waitress had no interest in us and only came by every now and then to go through the motions. The food was decent, but for the inflated Minneapolis prices (see also McCormick and Schmick's and Burch) you should get an experience that can top a good reasonably priced suburban steakhouse like Pittsburgh Blue.

My husband and I went to Manny's for Valentines Day. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were fantastic. For food I had the prime rib and my husband had one of their specials, 85 day aged rib-eye. For sides we shared the asparagus and mac-n-cheese. Our meat, and sides were great, the mac-n-cheese was a little dry for me but I like cheesy mac. For dessert we had the key lime pie and it was a nice size portion that tasted very good. Here is why I didn't give it 5 stars....THE SERVICE. I am really hoping this guy was having a bad day. I usually have my prime rib medium-rare. When i told him that is how I would like my prime rib cooked, he said " Ewwww...our prime rib at medium rare is giggly". Really? You should NEVER use the word GIGGLY to describe your very expensive cuts of meat. This is when he should have told me more....like..."we prefer to cook our prime rib at medium, we found medium rare is a little to rare for most guest and it is very pink. Nope. He just said GIGGLY. He was very rude, and spoke to us like we were idiots. On top of speaking to us like we are idiots when it came time to pay; we had $250 worth of gift cards. There was $12 dollars worth left on one of them. He kept it. He just ASSUMED that was going to be his tip. We were planning on leaving cash as a tip and using that $12 gift card upstairs for another cocktail. Just to sum it up...great food and cocktails, not so great service.

I have been to Manny's a couple time in my life, once in its previous location and twice in its current location in the Foshay Tower. Most recently, I went with my husband, MIL, and her fiancee. When the waiter sat us, he asked if we were celebrating anything, and I said, "An engagement!" as my MIL had just gotten engaged. At first the waiter thought I was referring to myself, but I pointed at the other two and he was like, "Oh, alright." and congratulated them. My husband and I decided to split a giant Porterhouse. Normally, I'm not a big protein eater--I can only eat a few bites at one sitting. But if it's made well--watch out! This was so perfectly cooked (well done but not cremated) and so flavorful, that I could not stop eating it and eating it. It was embarrassing. We also had a roasted cauliflower side that was on special. Get the Hollandaise and Bearnaise sauces and pour them all over everything. Amazing! We were all ready to receive our check when suddenly I see the waiter pulling up behind the other side of the table with a huge dessert with a candle and then plops it down in front of the MIL and fiancee. Surprise! A dessert to celebrate their engagement! But it's big enough to feed the whole table. Meanwhile he was telling all the tables around about the engagement to get applause and stuff. It was pretty funny. The only part of the evening I didn't care for was when they brought the meat cart around and there was this lobster sitting on it. I felt really bad for the poor thing and it bummed me out. All in all, amazing food, wonderful staff, a lot of fun. Highly recommended!

I eat a lot of steak... And I mean a LOT of steak. Sometimes 3 times a day. Some say it's unhealthy... Those 'some' can shut their whore mouths and give me some dead animal! I regularly walk into a good steak place and merely request the biggest and best steak they have. I usually finish that steak pretty easily and go on with my day. Manny's steakhouse took this little boys big steak dream into a whole new dimension with their 'bludgeon of beef'. This thing was big. And I mean fucking BIG! Long and wide and thick as all hell, it was beautiful! It came on the bone and dwarfed everything else on the table. I didn't even know where to start cutting. It was incredible, tasty and juicy and perfectly cooked. We had the cold seafood platter to start which was good but I'm not a big oyster fan. Amazing service and really pleasant atmosphere.

OK, Manny's has a stellar reputation among US steakhouses. The prices are HIGHER than NYC steakhouses. Lived in NYC, and it's the truth, these prices are in the stratosphere. Have heard a lot about the place and was staying down the street. Highly competent staff, but forced to sit at the bar on a weeknight at 9PM, no seating available. Therefore I'll have to wait on the steak dinner until I can sit at a real table with real elbow room, and just gorge myself. I had a bowl of soup, a jumbo shrimp cocktail, and a Manhattan. I think the tab was 45-50 bucks. Oh yes, the prices: They have a porterhouse for 2 @ 99.00. If you're feeling frisky for cow, you can get the Bludgeon of Beef. The bartender was kind enough to direct one my way after I asked him about this particular cut of beef. It is a 4-pound ribeye beauty, bone-in, with the bone about 12 crazy inches long. This mound of goodness is 89.00. I don't think Fred Flintstone could knock that one down the hatch. I'd like to share this with my wife or a buddy someday. Or the Special of the Night: Jumbo Australian Lobster Tail at 139.00. Everyone in the place was enjoying themselves and their food immensely, as I did for an hour, and I'm going to report back just how good the Bludgeon of Beef did taste. Along with a great lobster and a Manhattan to wash all that goodness down.

Okay then, this is obviously not a hard place to review, unless you are poor and don't have a lot of money. Besides the numerous accolades that Manny's has, and after reading the reviews, I didn't know if I have much else to add. Yes, it is housed in the W Hotel, in the old Foshay building, so the chicness and style is definitely there. Unfortunately, not all of Minneapolis is chic, and those with money in the Twin Cities, well fashion isn't something they stress. From the valet, to the wait staff, Manny's partnership with the W Hotel has obviously curated a very sexy atmosphere. And what is sexier than steak? The food is so high quality, as it should be (if you read Zagat, Manny's is always ranked). The service is really pleasant, but there was something lack luster about this dining experience. Oh yeah, it was the surrounding people. Whether or not you believe in Minnesota nice, Manny's attracts a lot of visitors from the W Hotel. If you aren't familiar with W Hotels, the party scene is quite intense. And, if you are one of those diners like I am, where every detail matters, then don't be impressed with the diners around you.

This is based on two recent visits, and just to be fair, one was at breakfast, and one was their game day Sunday brunch over the holidays. I haven't been for dinner in some time, so can't comment on dinner. Steak and eggs for breakfast were ok, not great. The potatoes were cold, and I mean fridge cold. Since no one checked on us after delivering the food, we pointed it out to our waitress when she came by 30 minutes later to deliver the bill. The manager on duty right away offered to comp our breakfast (we just shared the one dish), but could have been so easily fixed by checking on us. We didn't want more potatoes after finishing everything else. Game day buffet - it's the only option when there is a Vikings game and you can't order off the menu. It was reasonably busy in there, which left me even more puzzled as to the poor quality and presentation of the food. We don't usually do buffets, but at around $40 a head, put a bit of effort into it? The highlight was the chili with all the toppings served with it. Only problem? It was room temp. - I pointed this out to someone apparently tending to the buffet table who said he'd turned it off because it was starting to boil. I work in the restaurant business - not that hard to find a working steam heater or crock pot for your buffet. I guess they'd rather cold food and the slight risk of foodborne illness. Otherwise, it was a buffet that looked tired, nothing tasted remotely fresh. Maybe they just shouldn't do buffets if they can't execute? Maybe this was an anomaly? Generally the service here is very good, breakfast excepted. We often stay at the W and it's convenient, especially in inclement weather. While I might give it one more chance for dinner, no way I'm spending that kind of money on breakfast or brunch for the "experience".

My friends and I went there last night, and it was amazing to say the least. The charring on the beef was perfect! Manny's knows what it's doing. The meat cart is a really nice touch. The best of the best for classic steakhouses. Couldn't ask for more! :)

My husband and I went for dinner on a Friday nite, celebrating my birthday. This is a spendy place but it is well worth it. I ordered a 24 oz rib eye ad my husband ordered the filet Mignon. We are big steak fans and they cooked it exactly how we liked it. The side dishes is enough for two people to share. Our server's name was Paul and he was terrific. Very attentive, professional and humorous. We asked for a dessert menu and he came out with a HUGE dessert on the house. The food was great but the service we got from Paul was excellent!!! We will definitely go back!

The bone-in filet was the worst I have ever had!!! It had zero flavor and was not cooked properly. I eat at Steakhouses all over the country weekly and have never felt like I wasted my time or money until now. :(

I wish I could afford to eat at Manny's every month but every time I do it is awesome! Anthony our server was super nice and energetic and broke down the meat choices perfectly. We had the Lobster Tail and the 9oz Filet and they were both amazing. The sides are huge but you have to go big or go home with this place. Drinks are a little pricey but at least they were generously poured. Can't wait to go on another date again soon!

Several friends recommended this place as the best steakhouse in the US. With high expectations and very hungry, I went there. Service was nice and friendly, seating is OK. You can feel this place has a history. But then came the steaks. That's where the fun ended. I ordered a $55 bone-in ribeye, and I ordered it medium rare+. The steak I got was absolutely well done, and I returned it immediately, making me wait another 15 minutes or so. And of course, as I could have predicted, the second one was almost rare inside, definitely cold, and raw. Very far away from medium rare+. Again, I asked them to take it back and grill it a bit more. In the end I got a medium rare, rather dry steak that had good taste but very very disappointing texture. No apology from the waitress, no discount. And a huge bill. The sides were just OK but very boring as well. The creamed spinach tasted like an airplane meal. I know way better steakhouses in almost any bigger US city. I will definitely not return here.

  • John A.

Ok, they tried really hard to get my NY cooked to medium, but blew it three times in a row. First steak was raw in the middle, sent it back, still raw. Asked for a new steak, middle raw again, finally after refire, I took it, I was so hungry. The top end steakhouses that I go to, would automatically do a new steak out of embarrassement. Not here. However, Monty did a great job, sides were great and oh, get their house red, excelent choice. Dave/Mgr tried hard to get it all right, but still, a place of this caliber and charging $70 for just the steak, should not have these problems.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Manny's and were truly impressed. Not only was the service impeccable, the entire dining experience was well-orchestrated and all-around spectacular. Our server Paul was great - very attentive, pleasant and informative when guiding us through the menu. Steaks being what they do best, our pieces of meat were cooked to absolute perfection and the sides were delicious as well. I had noted in our online reservation that it was our anniversary and three Manny's employees made it a point to wish us a Happy Anniversary - attention to that kind of detail goes a long way! When you go to a high-end establishment knowing you're about to pay several hundred dollars for dinner, you certainly have an expectation of service. I thought Manny's hit it out of the park!

I do not hand out the 5 stars very often...but this place deserves it like nobody...the cuts are fat and juicy...the service is top notch...servers are fast on it...and will make you choke from lauging...the drinks are on point...they sell cuban cigars!! they say that it is legal for some reason now sure wtf that means...but i will take 4! Did I mention the mushrooms yet- OMG- you can hate muchrooms and love these- because these taste like they were dropped from heaven and made a stop at the delish station.

First, the ambiance. I'd describe it as a sort of white linen cafeteria. The bar is cozy and dark (and small) but the dining room is lit up with more fluorescent lights than my office. The walls are sparsely decorated with framed comic panels (??!) and I spied more than a few cheesy fake floral arrangements that would be well at home in great-aunt Edna's basement den. They seated our party of five right next to the entrance, which was also right next to the station where they keep the carts with the selections of the day. The whole time the staff was rolling the cart in and out directly behind me. I think the live lobster was staring me down and trying to get me to put it out of its misery with my butter knife. The prices were about where I'd expect them to be at a high-end steakhouse. The portions are generous, of course, but I suspect you're paying for quantity over quality. I had the New York Strip and the rest of my table had the 14 oz filet mignon. We also got a side of the biggest asparagus I've ever seen, which came with hollandaise, and mashed potatoes built into a volcano-like situation with sour cream, bacon, cheese, and chives. I asked for my steak medium-rare. It arrived medium on one half and medium-well on the other. The outside was absolutely crusted with salt and maybe a tiny bit of fine ground (read: cheap) pepper. The salt was distracting and the overcooked meat was bland. When I get a good New York Strip I expect it to be tougher than a filet, but the amount of knife sawing I had to do was ridiculous. It wasn't juicy at all and it tasted like a cheap supermarket steak. That is to say, it hardly tasted at all. For dessert we got key lime pie (a huge portion), cheesecake (also huge), and strawberries that shouldn't have cost as much as they did because they were just plain ol' boring supermarket strawberries in a fancy glass. The strawberries came with a plate of a glop of sad, waxy-looking, half melted whipped cream.

I know it is cold in Minneapolis, but they do have skyways and tunnels that can get you to this great steakhouse. I have been to Manny's on every business trip to the twin cities. NY & Chicago, my apologies.. this place is #1

This place just oozes old-school class. Well, maybe not the painting of the bull with huge testicles at the front...Love it when your server wheels out a cart with all the different cuts of meat. You can almost hear the cows mooing in the back. I've had three or four 48-oz double porterhouses back in my high school days...now, can't eat as much...but that doesn't matter because nearly everything is delicious at this place!

Best Rib Eye I have ever had.... Great Martini's (frikin HUGE!!!!..... Must be Pint Size) Bartenders are on top of their game! Ate at the Bar. Two sides of the resturant are quite different. GREAT RIBEYE!!!

The best steak I have ever had. A bone in NY aged 65 days. Words cannot do it justice. The sides are family style. The mushrooms are excellent and the fried onions were like a bowl of pasta. All delicious. Three of us shared key lime pie for dessert and it was too big. Manny's is first class. You need to try it. You will not be disappointed.

This place feels like it is trading on its name. I sit here about to pay my tab for a $57 steak, the bone-in ribeye. Nowhere near the tenderness and flavor I was expecting for the most famous steakhouse in Minnesota. Especially for $57. It was even cooked to the barman's recommendation of medium-rare-plus. Just a tough piece of meat. Actually the only thing that prevented me from sending it back was how hungry I was. I was starving and I was disappointed - that is not a ringing endorsement. Maybe an off night in the kitchen, but restaurants of this caliber (and price) don't get to take nights off. If you can get past the quality, this place screams classic steakhouse. From the old boys club behind the bar, the massive portions, the tablecloths, the display cart, and the wait staff - you expect the best. The service was great (aside from the really dirty flatware, accidents happen). The wine was great. Maybe it isn't just trading on a name but also influenced by the attachment to the W Hotel. Expense accounts and the bling crowd I am sure love this place. But the foodie in me was really disappointed. The raisin pumpernickel bread is ridiculously good. They could probably sell that on the side. I might even go back while I'm in town for a drink and a side of bread...more stars likely on that visit.

Who cooks only one side of a steak? WTF guys can't you be bothered at $65 for a NY strip to cook both sides of it. Prices are ridiculous and frankly it's not all that good.

What can I say that hasn't been said already about Manny's. Rated a top ten steakhouse in the US. We had a Fillet Mignon and New York Strip, some Mac & Cheese and Hash Browns. Our waiter Stevie B bought us some cynful chocolate cake. Great service and atmosphere! Must come and eat!

Last Review of 2013 and Review #700: My boyfriend took me to Manny's for dinner last spring and if he'd desperately needed to impress me he would have totally succeeded. Manny's is old school. It's not trendy or cheap or vegan-friendly. It is classic and pricey and all about the meat. Steak, specifically. When our waiter was showing us the goods from the food cart I inquired about the chicken, and he said "It's decent." Thanks for being honest, OK, guess I'll go with the cow. I ordered a reasonably sized filet and my boyfriend went with something enormous that combines two different cuts of meat. We also ordered sides of asparagus and mushrooms as the menu is a la carte. I enjoyed my steak but I don't eat much red meat and quite frankly I don't know jack about it. My boyfriend, however, could teach a class on steak, so if he says this the best steakhouse around, then well, it must be. We each took some home, which is unusual because my boyfriend is largely unfamiliar with the concept of "leftovers" -- the prices are high but the portions are huge! The asparagus was good but I wish it had been grilled or seasoned or something other than plain steamed asparagus. Then again, you don't come to a famous steakhouse and judge them on their side of asparagus (but judging by other reviews and what we saw on other tables -- the hashbrowns are where it's at). I rarely eat dessert but since I was already eating a giant steak, hey, why not. I went with the pecan pie, which the waiter told me is entirely hand-made and used to be on the regular menu but is now only a special. OH MY GOD. BEST PECAN PIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!! Heavy on the pecans, not overly sweet like it can be, and topped with homemade whipped cream. OMG. I had the rest for breakfast the next day and talked about it for like 2 weeks. My boyfriend was like "I bring you to the best steakhouse in the state and all you do is talk about the pie!" Well, it's worth talking about. And for once I'd say it's worth the calories. On the way out I used the restroom. It wasn't until I was washing my hands that I realized the chick awkwardly hanging out in there was a restroom attendant. Now that's a terrible job. The other funny thing was that were several tables were filled with dudes and most of them were wearing (casual) Monster (sports drink) gear. Later on we passed a Monster big rig so there must have been some extreme sports thing going on in town. I suspect that Manny's is typically filled with businessmen and couples on dates, so that was a little unexpected and amusing. Overall Manny's really impressed me. The food was simple and delicious and the service and atmosphere were classy without being stuffy or pretentious. We just had our anniversary dinner at Kincaid's last weekend and I gotta say I prefer Manny's. 4.5 Stars.

We've been to many extreme and high end steakhouses and this one was the worst. We were on our honeymoon, staying in the Forshay (which was a mistake anyways), and decided to try this restaurant because the other bars were filled with hookers and older men on couches. Seriously. So we sat down for dinner at Manny's and the staff was amazing. That's why this place got atleast 2 stars in my book. We've been to many steakhouses with the exact same menu layout as Manny's and this one took the book. They doubled the prices and gave you oversized seafood that was obviously genetically modified - yum? NO. Super disappointed that we almost had to break bank on a place that we could've gone to whole foods and bought all of this for half the price - but we were on our honeymoon! We didn't anticipate the place to be so extremely loud and annoying either. Lots of drunks! Blech - won't return here.

Overrated to be honest. The service is impeccable but they overdo it a little. I don't like to be interrupted ever 2.5 minutes to ask if I need anything else. The food: I love steak, I really do. They do a good job, nothing mindblowing, but their sides are lacking in flavour. The asparagus is meh, the spinach if overglaric-ed. I just feel that for the price, I expected more. The ambiance is also very average.

No matter how cold it is outside Manny's will always warm me up. Had a great client dinner there last night and we all enjoyed ourselves. The ambiance of Manny's is reminiscent of a 1960's steakhouse all the way down to the giant portrait of the bull in all his glory. Steaks are always cooked the way I order them and I really enjoy the hash browns. Martinis are cold and crisp - just what you need to get the chill out of your bones. If you are staying at the Hyatt you don't need to worry about a ride home...it is ever so close. This isn't the fancy place to impress a date, but if you want no nonsense great food in a nice atmosphere for business then I highly suggest Manny's.

Although it gets a 3 stars or less if I'm paying for dinner, I do like this place for business dinners and their lunches are underrated. Service has always been great for me, the server presentation is kitchy and the food is over the top. I like over the top fine unless I have to pay for it -- then there are so many better choices from a value proposition. Wine selection is good but too many turns -- bring your own if you are paying.

If you're honestly looking at this review, you've never heard of Manny's. This is not a restaurant where people read reviews to decide if they want to have a casual dinner. Manny's is the kind of place you take someone to impress them. If you're still reading this review, you're most likely not going to Manny's tonight - good luck with whatever decision you make. Lastly, tip well please.

With today's luxury and multi-locational chains (kiss right here, Capital Grille and Mastro's) taking over the steakhouse world, I'm a big fan of Manny's. On the dinner front, they serve you very well. Yet, they earned their stripes with me on . a business lunch or two. They also have a great brunch. Their steak benedict 'Elvis's favorite' is right on the money. Great views, service, and quiet enough to get a conversation going without over yelling. Keep in mind that a lot of steakhouses can do a solid baseball steak, but their fixings can separate them from the pack. Manny's knows the deal and with a local flair. They have an eclectic crowd, and you may even see a manager from a visiting team at the bar...Old school flavor, and their photos on the wall are fun to view. Thumbs-up for Manny's. BD

What an amazing experience this place is. Very upscale steakhouse. I noticed another review said the bone-in filet was the worst they'd ever had and I couldn't disagree more strongly. The service was wonderful and the food outstanding. I was there with 7 other people and we all had great food. My tip would be to go there very hungry and be prepared to leave very full!

After getting the cold shoulder at McCormick & Schmick's and walking out in disgust. We stepped back out onto the street to be asked by two gentlemen where Manny's steakhouse was. We pointed them in the right direction and followed. Went in, and were seated quickly, with a friendly coat check. Our waiter brought an entire table of raw food for us to inspect. We lovingly named the lobster 'Gary'. The boyfriend boasted the oysters, and I found the scallops benedict worth bragging about. He ordered the baseball steak which really should be called a softball steak. I had the small filet mignon. Both were cooked to perfection. Had some asparagus as a side, it was huge and a bit tough. The mashed potatoes were extreme and were over powered by the smoky bacon flavor. Was a bit put off by the random children wandering about but it wasn't a deal breaker. $200 later we walked away full and happy.

Every time when I visit Minneapolis, I always come to Manny's for a steak. You will never go wrong with either Bone in Ribeye or bone in fillet. By the way, for appetizer, bacon is a MUST! Not healthy but who cares when you want to enjoy good food here. I usually skip all the others go straight to the steak and bacon, hah...

I have never eaten steak, and I ended up at Manny's accidentally, but I still had an excellent night, great food and no meat. What really made the night was how awesome our server, Tami, was. She was personable, attentive, and just real in a way that I haven't experienced in a restaurant in a long time. When we looked at the menu ($100 for lobster tail) and realized that we were in a bit over our heads, she was completely willing to accommodate us. To be honest, I really don't know the best way to deal with a situation when you find yourself in a super fancy restaurant with cocktails already in hand when they bring out the 'meat cart' and you really start to realize that people spend upwards of $100 for dinner there. We couldn't really neck our drink and bolt, so we explained our situation, and Tami was totally cool with it. We ended up getting five sides to share, and I was blown away by each one. I may never have been to a steakhouse before, but I have been the lone vegetarian at rib joints, and other meat-centric places etc., and often the only vegetarian offering is a watery salad. Not so at Manny's. We had portabella fries (thin sliced portabella mushroom caps covered in panko and deep fried), hashbrowns, garlicky creamed spinach, roasted and seasoned corn and macaroni and cheese. It was like a mini Thanksgiving feast, we had a ton of leftovers and everything was delicious. What we also had, was just a great night out. The atmosphere is classy but understated, and our booth felt like our own private world. The cocktails were absolutely flawless, we never waited for water refills, and I think I can speak for my dining companions when I say that we felt a little special. I didn't feel like a customer, I felt like a friend, which is something I've never experienced before and certainly didn't expect from a steakhouse. I doubt that Manny's would like very much if vegetarians started flocking there for the roasted corn (so good) because they clearly like to sell people cuts of meat, but it was really refreshing to not be made to feel like a little kid in her mother's high heels. That's the mark of amazing service, and I'm impressed.

The filet was excellent and I would highly recommend the thick-cut bacon! It's a meal unto itself. I've never had a bad experience here. Someday I would like to try the brunch; hopefully it's as good as the steak!

Was a little disappointed... Got the NY strip, medium rare. Lacked flavor, actually had to add salt. Waitress was great- attentive and went through the cuts offered and was able to answer any questions I had. Came for an early dinner (4:30/5) place was pretty empty, walked right in, and was sat.

Wow wow wow! I have been here half a dozens times and it is one of the best steakhouses I have ever been too. I'm originally from Chicago. So I have been to Morton's , Gibsons, Chicago Cut and I have been too several steakhouse in New York, Lugers and sparks . Nothing compares to their meat and service! One of the classiest places I have ever been too. Awesome bartenders and great waitstaff. I love the dry age special when it comes available . My girlfriend loves this place as well. This would be my last meal!!! I can't say enough good things about this place. Go to Mannys Go Big and get a hotel after at the W. Can't beat it!!!!!

May I just say - Manny's Steakhouse is a spectacular restaurant, one of a kind, perfect for a special occasion and definitely the place to go when you are in this awesome city, visiting or on business. It was named one of the Top Ten Steakhouses in the United States! My husband and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary here last night. We were treated like royalty. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! They brought us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary - Bailey's Irish Cream Mousse Cake. I was so impressed with this place, I can't wait to go back! It's not a cheap restaurant (it's not supposed to be) You absolutely get what you pay for - in service and quality of food. If you are a steak lover, this is the place to be. Expect to spend about $60 for a steak, but it will be the most delicious steak you will ever eat. All the sides and potato dishes are big enough to share with 2 or 3 people, and they bring out delicious rye bread and a sweet raisin bread with butter. Our server was wonderful - he was very knowledgeable about the different cuts of meat and the lobster tails and he was super attentive to us. I had the large Filet Mignon, done medium well, and it was perfect. My husband had the dry-aged Bone-In New York Strip which was also perfect. We shared the Loaded Mashed Potatoes. We had to try the Apple Smoked Bacon for an appetizer, and it was almost like an entree by itself! The most delicious bacon you will ever eat. I will say that Manny's is by far the best restaurant I have ever been to in Minnesota. (Followed by Fogo De Chao - a close second!) Best place to eat when you are in Minneapolis!

From California to visit Minnesota with my Minnesodian boyfriend, and the one restaurant he had to take me to was Manny's- a steakhouse he frequents with his fam bam since a tender age. We got dressed up, parked at a parking lot down the street, and walked on over. We set a reservation for 9pm, we got there early as we wanted to get drinks prior to dinner, luckily we did as the host could not find out reservation, but no problem, they honored it anyways. The place was packed, the bar was packed, we decided to go elsewhere for drinks until our reservation time. We retuned and were seated promptly, our waiter was nice, introduced himself and asked if it was our first time...then proceeded with a cart demonstrating all the different cuts of beef they had and the lobster! My boyfriend raved about how large the asparagus was going to be- unfortunately that week, the asparagus was normal sized, and he was disappointed! Lol! Dinner was amazing, we ordered the double porterhouse medium to rare, onion strings, oysters and two Bakers whiskey on the rocks. Our waiter cut up our steak for us, like butter it was tender and tasted delicious. The portion was huge, we ended up taking some home! No room for desert, but I'm guessing it would have been delicious! When we come back to MN for a visit, will surely stop by Minneapolis to dine at Manny's.

Went for my birthday back in June. Writing this review now in January cause I'm sitting here thinking about how I need Mannys in my life. So good! Had the Ribeye, cooked to a perfect medium. Yummmm. Don't remember what cut my hubby had but it was also cooked to perfection. I'm talking perfect char. Everything. Steaks are the biggest I've ever seen. Aged perfectly. Loaded mashed potatoes the best I ever had, along with the broccoli and hollandaise to share. Portions are out of control and they don't skimp on anything. They wrapped and bagged our food at tableside without us even asking. Had leftovers the next day that were better than most places right out the kitchen. Trick is not to use the microwave to reheat (be a sin anyway) Customer service right on point for what you pay to eat here. We ran about 20 minutes late, called to let them know and they held our table. We had about a 15 minute wait after arriving that we used to order delicious drinks at the bar. After this experience I am not pleased with any steak anywhere else. Give it shot, it'll be worth it. :)

Absolutely delicious! Great service. Giant portions. Need more than that? Really? What else could you ask for? Only "regret" was ordering the bone-in prime rib. The end cut ingot was easily 30 ounces (as confirmed by the kitchen). Could not finish despite a valiant effort. Delivered perfectly medium which is difficult to do for an end cut. Prime rib is never as good as a leftover. Been here twice in one month. Each visit solidifies its standing a sine of finest steakhouses in the country. Dry much looking forward to next visit.

This is by far one of my top five places to eat period. Service is always great and the steaks are unbelievable. I have never had a bad meal. Perfect date place if you are looking to impress. The Sunday brunch is also in my top five. I would recommend Manny's to anyone.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. I figured this was a good place to go with dietary restrictions, and I was right! They were very accommodating. I had a salad with no dressing, croutons, egg or tomatoes and just a side of Olive Oil. Then I had the steak with absolutely nothing on it, just grilled. Absolutely delicious! So my boyfriend was able to enjoy his favorite place and I was as well.

Quite good. Great waiter. Very funny relaxed style. Had lobster roll sliders for lunch. Highly recommend this place. Very energetic and lively yet quiet enough to talk. Recommend getting a booth for conversation.

I came here for my girlfriend's birthday. There were 6 of us. We were greeted and our coats were checked. We had a drink at the bar before moving to our table. It's definitely a pricey place. If you are big on quality steaks...this is it. Everything is a la cart. The small filet mignon was around $45 by itself. Some steaks were $100. We had Alaskan king crab legs (2lb and amazing), truffle fries, roasted beets and a birthday cake dessert. The sides are family style. It was amazing! We had a good time and would come back for drinks at bar or special occasion. The service was great.

I don't think I can say anything that hasn't already been said, but I will try to give another perspective to strengthen the case for this place. It's really good. I went alone as I was traveling for work. Some coworkers encouraged me to go and since I had my corporate card, it seemed like the right time. What I didn't know was that it I would ring up such a bill that I didn't feel like I could rightfully charge such an extravagant meal to the company. Don't let that dissuade you from going. I started off with an Aviation cocktail because I wanted to assess the quality of the cocktails. This one was very good. I don't drink a lot of Aviations, but the fact that it was on the menu is a plus to me. The gentleman next to me ordered a margarita and I ordered one because it just sounded good. I didn't even finish the Aviation but I needed to try the margarita. It was OK, but nothing remarkable. While sitting in the bar, I had the opportunity to watch the bartenders at work and I identified a key element that would make the drinks better...shake the damn cocktail. At most the drinks were shaken two little shakes. My margarita hadn't even been shaken enough to thoroughly chill it. Again, don't let that dissuade you from going. The spirit, wine, and beer menu are extensive. Just don't expect an out-of-this-world cocktail. Before you order, they bring around the meat cuts so you can select your entree. I've never seen such a presentation. Not only do they have some of the largest "single serving" cuts of meat I've ever seen, they actually bring around a live lobster. It's quite a show. I ordered the petite filet or what they call the "lady's cut." I also ordered the Caesar salad, asparagus, and hashbrowns. It was all amazing. I've never had asparagus that good. I can't even tell you why it was so good. If you go (which you should) get the asparagus. The hashbrowns were also really good, but they just didn't seem to mesh with my amazing steak. If I were doing it again, I would choose a different potato. If I were there for breakfast, I would certainly order the hash browns. My filet was tender, tasty, and plentiful. It came with a garlic herb sauce that only enhanced the flavor. After it was said and done, I ordered the key lime dessert which is apparently their hallmark dessert. As with everything else, it was darn good. Next time, I will try the bread pudding or banana cream pie. When I go again, I won't go alone. This is not a place one can fully enjoy alone. Nor should you. The portions are enormous and the sides are all family style. They are designed to be shared. Even though my waiter (Robert) was great and brought out half portions, they were still gigantic. Go there. Go with others. Go with a fat wallet because you can't fully experience Manny's on a tight budget.

Don't get me wrong, I love Manny's, but the steak and loaded mashed potatoes were sub-par tonight. The steak was over salted, and the loaded mashed potatoes were luke warm. The male server wasn't as friendly as I expected. We were the first customers of the evening. Not too impressed this round after paying $169 for this meal.

I have been going to Manny's for years both here and on Marquette. Everything was perfect from the time I turned my car over to the Valet to the person who seated us. Made my date, which was a first timer at Manny's, feel important and special. The waiter had a great presentation with humor that helped break the ice with my date. Really a great guy and mindful. When it came time to pay my tab I gave him my debit card and he tried to run it and it was declined and he indiscreetly got my attention tell me there was a problem with the card so I gave him another with out saying anything. I appreciate him not coming to the table and saying "YOUR CARD WAS DECLINED" in the restaurant but most importantly in front of my date. The only problem I had was the porterhouse i think it was the worst steak i ever had. I didn't eat it other than a few bites I did not want to disrupt my date by making an issue about it. And when my date had left to use the restroom another waiter came to check on us i believe because the one we started with was busy somewhere else. I told him about the steak and he kind of shrugged it off and said that it could be because of the "rub" they put on it probably made it taste odd. I did not pursue it after that. But yes I intend to keep coming back just won't order that steak Thanks again for the great sever ice. Jeff D

We go with friends to Manny's once or twice a year. Last night we went again and for the first time I have to say we were disappointed. Service is still great and the hash browns are unbelievable (you'd better like butter) but the steak was marginal. I wondered how they were keeping their already lofty prices in check considering the cost of beef and we found out. The small fillet is about the size of a hamburger patty (really). And ours had a livery taste. Our friend's prime, which is still the best value on the menu, was not the medium rare he ordered but medium raw. We'll chalk it up to a bad night, but for the extremely high prices charged at Manny's I hope its not a trend.

I rarely get the opportunity to dine at what I call "expense account" restaurants - because they are simply unaffordable unless someone else is paying the check. That didn't stop the restaurant from being completely sold out on a Monday night at 8 p.m. We had reservations, so no matter. The wait staff was very attentive and very good up selling everything. That didn't stop us from ordering a "seafood tower" which I thought was an entrée - it was $90. Yes, $90. An appetizer for 4. Then we ordered dinner. I ordered the lamb chops which were very good, but maybe a bit chewy. I figured this was the smallest portion of red meat as the steaks ran from 8 to 54 ounces. Two other dining companions order 24 ounce steaks, which were huge, but they finished them off. We ordered the hash browns and asparagus, which were expensive and really too much for a party of 4. The hash browns were served on a bed of oil that must have been draining out of them. Asparagus is asparagus. The desserts that went by were gargantuan. I dunno, to me it all seems very unhealthy. And with dinner and 3 glasses of wine, I'm sure the check added up to $350, not including the 20% tip.

So I'm in the W hotel and the business trip is completed....the only thing left to do was eat dinner and then check out the next morning. With temps in the teens, heading out wasn't really appealing, so Manny's is in the same building and I had meat on my mind. The place was packed, but we were able to snag a table in the main dining area in less than 5 minutes...very cool. The waiter was funny, engaging, and great with suggestions....cannot remember his name though, but he'd been doing days up until 2 weeks ago, so you'd never know it. He brought by all the meat and the size of the cuts are HUGE!!!! 5 of us ordered our steaks and fish and a few sides. In addition I had 3 oysters as I love oysters anytime. A fews micro brews and some shop talk and our dinners arrived. I had the porterhouse medium rare and a few others had smaller filets, but my boss had the 50oz steak....yes folks...they have a cut that big aptly named "the Bludgeon of Beef." An insame amount of cow and my boss ate the entire thing!!!! They also has another item that was also insanely large that we didn't order which was the Australian Lobster tail which was also HUGE!! Add in the lovely and tasty macraoni and cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and creamed garlic spinach and it was a dinner fit for a king. To top it off we had coffee and dessert with an order of cheesecake and mouse...the cheesecake was INSANELY good. Was it expensive? I haven't a clue as it was a dinner meal....was it still an excellent dinner....absolutely! I don't typically award 5 stars, but the stars above were aligned with a fast table seating during a busy time, great waiter, excellent food all cooked to perfection, and desserts to die for...way to go Manny's.

I was amazed by the quality of the food and the quality of the service at Manny's. I went with a friend, and I appreciated the amount of attentiveness that was spent on us by the wait staff. I also really appreciated the waiter who shared his opinions of what was good, and more importantly told us why he thought it was good. I ordered a salad which he recommended with a tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly. The salad was good in that it had a lot of elements to it, which worked well together. Different flavors and different textures but more importantly, it had their signature bacon in it. At the end, I mentioned we were going to the Twins game, so the waiter hurried to get our check. Highly recommend sharing the bacon as an appetizer - nice texture and the flavor you'd expect. As a tip, just like any other place in Downtown, you will have to pay for parking or take a taxi to the restaurant. I wouldn't suggest walking from there to Target Center in the middle of winter but is close enough for many of the Twins games at Target Field. The only demerits I have for this place are the tacky use of cowhide on the walls for decor and the wait staff messing up how we wanted our food boxed up. it seems that would be something that belonged at more of low-end steakhouse or a BBQ joint.

We went for Sunday morning breakfast. The food was decent, the coffee lukewarm, and the bill ridiculous. $100 meal for family of four. Food wasn't $100 good. Think normal diner breakfast food at a high end steak house.

The staff and location, plus the top notch beef make this a favorite spot when in town. The bone in rib eye emits flavor before you slice in . The sides were devoured by our teens and grandmothers . The tuna appetizers may have doomed my ability to get desert . We were gathered to toast a departed relative and Dave the manager made the evening warm and special . Our server was focused and intuitive so that's a huge plus. Non meat eaters were quite happy with other options. My sister and husband selected some great red wines! I was tired from a long week so I wisely left before the check arrived ! But typical Fine dining bills rarely bother us when the ambiance, food and overall special night becomes a shared family memory for decades to come ! Thanks Dave! I

Overrated. Steak ordered medium rare and came out much more well done. It's a steakhouse. Isn't that what you do? I don't care for "steamed" veggies that are slathered in butter, either. Not a good experience. I'd have preferred to stay out at the bar in the W, next to it, and ordered the small plates from their menu! Save your money. There's better steak around.

One time, I won a bet with my husband. As his "punishment" for losing, he had to take me to Manny's. I had such a good time! All the servers here are so animated and knowledgable about steak. I never knew how many cuts there were. They have a roller cart with a model(?) of each cut they offer; and it's just so diverse! I tried the Porterhouse Steak-- I rate this steak as superior to Ruth Chris and Lurcat's steak in Minneapolis. Wow. I am salivating as we speak. It was buttery, crispy and slightly charred in the right places, juicy, tender, substantial (they don't skimp ya), and the ambience was SO cool! There are a bunch of older men drinking whisky, being loud, and eating meat... and I-- a relatively small Asian American girl-- just stuck out like a sore thumb. But I just loved it.. Everyone seems to be having a great time here always, and it was seriously contagious.

I came here for a quick lunch on my way to the airport. The staff was incredibly accomodating in making sure that my order was out quickly and the check hit the table with my food so I was in and out and quick as possible. I would have loved to make it her for dinner to try their namesake steaks but unfortunately I couldn't make it to dinner. I will try on my next time to Minnesota. Anyway, my lunch was superb. I ordered the lobster cakes and the loaded hash browns. The lobster cakes were easily a pound of lobster between them, so think 8 ounces each. These were chock full of claw and tail and made an almost seafood stuffing on top, rather than a crabcake which is more of a ball with the fill inside. With a squeeze of lemon, its all that was needed for these. These are meant for an appetizer, although I was completely satsfied with this as an entree. For a "side" I got the loaded hash browns. This was a huge 3 inch thick circle of potato cake, topped with a ton of cheddar cheese, some bacon chunks, and generous dollop of sour cream. It was so awesome. I had a few slices on what was essentially a potato pizza and I was feeling it. Overall, a spectacular lunch and a great place that I would love to come back to for my proper steak dinner.

I wanted an upscale steakhouse experience for our anniversary, and Manny's certainly delivered. The food was simply amazing. I can't even begin to describe how perfect the steak was. We paired our NY Strip & Porterhouse with mac & cheese and asparagus. The mac'n'cheese was amazing, I would order that by itself any day of the week. The waiter treated us to a complimentary piece of cake for our anniversary which was also excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive, suggesting items when we had questions. It was perfect for our romantic night out. With a few drinks(no bottles), two steaks, and two sides, our bill was in the $200 range before tip. Since the food was essentially the best I've ever had in my life, it was worth it, but still - spendy! One of the "specials" was a lobster tail for $139! We opted for the $56 steaks instead. The front of the restaurant is a bar area, you can sit and have dinner right at the bar, or at high top tables. When I made our reservations I requested to be back in the dining room area, this area has white table clothes and no TVs, better for the romantic setting I was hoping for. The only two con's I have for this restaurant is that the main dining room gets very busy with staff, carts of meat, carts of food, etc - and it becomes too cramped to even walk to the bathroom. I would prefer them to bring items out by hand so they don't have as many carts. The other thing was that the staff seemed to congregate at the front entry. I'm not sure how many of them were wait staff, bus boys, hostesses, or valet, but they grouped up and stood around talking which I thought was kind of tacky for a front entry way. They should appear busy or go in the back. Overall, excellent steakhouse that I would love to have someone buy me dinner at again ;) Great place for an anniversary splurge as well.

I was not impressed. The food was fine, but for the prices, I would expect nicer tableware and atmosphere. I guess I always compare steakhouses to Nick & Stef's. Manny's comes up very short in comparison.

I ADORE Manny's. The most fantastic, fun service, and it is the one place I've been to that knows how to actually do medium rare. Their loaded potatoes are over the moon. Portions are for a king. Love everything about this place!

Came here with out of town guests for a no expense spared dinner to wow them with Minnesota cuisine. Just amazing food. Every bite. My sister in law and I shared the jumbo lobster tail. It was every bit of $140 but it was seriously HUGE. It was so much lobster meat that even after giving some to the hubby I couldn't finish my portion- and I can put away some lobster, believe me. We also had the asparagus with hollandaise sauce and sautéed mushrooms. Excellent. The husband had the rib eye, our favorite cut of beef, and it was seared and seasoned perfectly. But best of all was the loaded hash browns. OMG unforgettable. And they tell you it's "big enough to share". Understatement of the year. It's 2 inches deep and like 8 inches across. It was so big that after serving 3 adults and two kids we still took home half for breakfast the next day. The service was fantastic from reservation to dessert. I had made a reservation a few weeks ago and then had to cancel. When I called yesterday to make another reservation they had all my info saved from the first time I called and even emailed me a confirmation after I hung up. When we got there service was personal and friendly. Our server was great. The coolest thing was that my sister in law mentioned how much she liked the raisin bread that they serve. The bus boy overheard and asked if we'd like some to take home. They handed us a bag and I didn't look twice at it. Well when I got home I couldn't believe it but they gave us two FULL LOAVES of bread to take home! It was the nicest thing to do and it totally made our morning. We ordered the banana split for the kids and it showed up in a 50 ounce martini glass. Huge. So big that two couples at two other tables Facebooked our dessert lol! The banana cream pie was superb. I don't always get to write reviews (even when I should) but when I look at those two loaves of bread on my counter I thought I should take the five minutes to say some words that might encourage others to try this place. A very, very good meal. We all kept commenting on the way home how perfect everything was and how much it all hit the spot.

I'm spoiled by food from San Francisco, and my coworker is spoiled by food from New York, so our standards are a tad high. We came here for dinner after multiple recommendations. I'll admit I expected it to be good but not great. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only do they display the raw cuts of meat and fresh seafood before you order right at your table, the prices are great in comparison to dining options in California's Bay Area for an establishment of similar caliber. I had the NY Strip, requested it medium rare with a side of asparagus. The NY strip was served as a 20 ounce piece of goodness, cooked to a perfect and I mean perfect mid rare. The steak filled me up quite nicely, but I had a few spears of asparagus as well and was blown away by the quality of the sides. The asparagus was steamed enough to be tender, but still retained some of the snappiness in the root. I wanted to eat it all but I was too full. This brings my to my next point: this place is a great value. If this were a blind test, I would have opted to pay more for than the menu price. Service was on point, not overbearing but attentive. I will definitely be back here again. PROTIP: Get bone in for more flavor.

After failed attempts at finding other "recommended" lunch restaurants in downtown Minneapolis, John K and I "stumbled upon" Manny's Steakhouse and are seriously glad we did. From other reviews it sounds like this place gets busy, but during lunch on a Wednesday at 1:30, we found the place almost completely empty. Lucky us. The waiter was patient and helpful with decent recommendations across the board. It's the kind of service I like. We settled on two steaks: 7oz Filet with Bearnaise which was especially tender and juicy for filet mignon and a Peppered Bar Steak with Bleu Cheese and Cabernet Butter that was indeed covered in Black Pepper. 4.5 stars for the Filet and 3.5 stars for the Bar Steak. As a quick appetizer, the waiter brought us a Kobe Short Rib & Scallop Slider that lived up to his recommendation and the hype. The combination of smooth textured scallop and soft bbq short rib truly works well together. It was the best part of the meal and deserves a true 5 stars. Along with the steaks, we split a "small" portion of the Manny's "Loaded" Hash Browns which was not small in size (we didn't finish it), but was seductively addictive. By "loaded", Manny's means loaded with cheese, sour cream, chunky bacon bits, and chives. 4.5 stars for the Hash Browns. Other sides, included a small cup of Carpaccio and a tossed Green Salad with a healthy dose of Balsamic Vinaigrette. Both were A-OK and equal to 3 stars. No beer on draft, but there is a full bar. Overall, the service was above average, the meat quality was as good as advertised, and the slider was memorable. 4 - 4.5 stars for Manny's Steakhouse in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I got engaged to the love of my life and I was told if I wanted something memorable and amazing to top the day off I should take her to Manny's. I did and I am glad I did our waiter was amazing, they treated us very well, made our night feel like we were the only ones there. Food was spread out at perfect intervals to allow us to eat and talk and we never felt like they were trying to rush us out to make room for others. The food needs to speak for itself, I very rarely go places where the bill ends up being more then my monthly car payment but here is a place I would gladly do it again. The food was spot on. Perfectly done steak and BIG portions. I had to take some home with me and eat it the next day. I would recommend Manny's to anyone, just remember to let them know what your special occasion is, they surprised us with a little something extra at the end of our meal. It was pretty wonderful.

Picked Manny's for my father's 60th birthday. I've read great reviews of Manny's and was looking forward to seeing what a top notch steak house had to offer. I ordered the Porterhouse, we had some hash brown's and cauliflower sides. Steak was cooked to perfection, just lacked any flavor. The filet side was tender and juicy, but the strip side was tough and boring. I tried some of each person's steak which consisted of a rib eye and filet. Both were better than mine, but still boring to what I would expect from a place that advertises as THE top MN steakhouse, and widely known in the US. Quite frankly, I can cook a better steak on my Webber, for 16.99/ lb. For a 600 dollar bill, won't ever be back. Only thing I would say is there wine menu is endless, and EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. $250 for silver oak? its $70 in a store... come on Manny's, get over yourself.

I asked a couple people about where to take a customer for dinner in the Minneapolis metropolitan area and they all said Manny's. We arrived and were seated right away. We started with some cocktails before our server brought over the cart of meat. I honestly never heard of a bone-in filet but knew that I needed to try it. The steak was cooked perfectly and it was more flavorful then I would have thought. We ordered three sides that included the asparagus, the mushrooms, and the loaded mashed potatoes. We figured at this point there is no reason to skimp on calories or fat and just got loaded mashed potatoes. The sides are so big that they must be shared. Everything was excellent. No complaints except that there was so much food leftover that no one could even think about getting desert. The cocktail and wine list was huge. The service was attentive but not over the top and if I was ever to entertain again in the twin cities this would be my first choice.

Manny's has great steak. Hands down. Yes, it's expensive, but what true steak restaurant isn't? I had the petite filet (8oz) with blue cheese crumbles on top. It was cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the presentation of the menu; the server wheeled over a cart is sample meat cuts to show you all the options. Some of these steaks were incredible. Even the veggies were on steroids--I've never seen asparagus, tomatoes, and potatoes that huge in my life. Everything here is gluttonous and decadent. My caprese salad could easily have been shared between 2-3 people. The sides are also family style: the asparagus and loaded mashed potatoes were my favorite. Dessert--if you can fit any more food in after a salad, steak, and sides--is also share-worthy. Our table of 8 shared the banana split. Plenty for everyone. It came out in a gigantic martini glass. Service was superb. They make you feel like the most important, high-class customer to ever grace their tables.

So good, professional and friendly. Loved the folks and the service. The steaks were perfect and sides were very well done. Best asparagus and hollandaise sauce ever in 62 years! If you go to Murray's instead your taste buds and salt sensitivity are simply out of whack. Now on to the last Hollidazzle ever.

Since my son was born 2 years ago, my wife and I don't really get a chance to go out much for fancy dinners. We used to go to Manny's a couple times a year when it was in the Hilton, but since it moved to the Foshay we haven't been. Since it was my wife's birthday, I thought I'd roll the dice and try for a lunch with the kiddo tagging along. First, Manny's isn't a great place to take a kid, but if he's reasonably well behaved and under close supervision, it can work ok. They were certainly accomodating of our request for a booster seat (lol - obvious that they don't get many of those requests!) and were super helpful with bringing food out quick so our son didn't get super antsy and/or hungry which brings out less than desirable behavior. As for the food - it was brunch, at Manny's! Hey, that sounds pretty good and it was. I had a peppered steak lunch special which was around $17. My wife and son had French toast (on giant slices of grilled brioche) with real maple syrup at $9 a plate. I also had a Manny's Bloody Mary which was $10 but damn it was good - plenty of kick from the Peppar Absolut Vodka and a beef stick instead of the traditional celery definitely made it a fun and unexpected drink to kick off our birthday celebration.

I went to Manny's for a company "holiday" lunch (you can't call it "Christmas" anymore -- hooray for political correctness) and I was really excited to eat there. I had heard great things about it, and I do love a tasty steak. My steak was tasty, but I wasn't blown away. It was cooked the way I ordered it (maybe a little too rare for my tastes, but it was still good) and the seasoning was delicious, but I wasn't blown away. I do find it odd that you only get coleslaw, french fries or salad with the steak. I'm used to getting a baked potato or mashed potatoes and some sort of veggie at other steak restaurants. Because there were five of us, we got an order of asparagus and loaded hash browns to share. The hash browns were really delicious. The asparagus was pretty good, and I was surprised it was as tender as it was because the shoots were very thick. The service was decent, and our server was friendly. The vibe felt a bit too stuffy for my tastes, but then again I feel more at home at a pub than I do at restaurants that ask if I want a black napkin instead of a white one.

This is a review for Brunch at Manny's. I really shouldn't complain because thankfully I was not paying for this meal (because this place IS NOT cheap), but still the food and portions were pretty meager. I will say the staff is excellent! They are so kind and attentive and will pretty much take care of your every need. I was hoping for something that wasn't on the menu and they made it happen so that was great. Also, at the end of our meal they brought us a complimentary GIANT chocolate cake and performed a little act, pouring an obscene amount of chocolate sauce over it. If you are willing to splurge mainly for the atmosphere then this is your place. Otherwise, look elsewhere for probably a much better meal.

Manny's, I'm sorry but I gotta bring you down a notch. Ok, I'm not really sorry. First let me preface by saying that I do not eat red meat so I can not comment on the steak. I came here for a private business lunch. Manny's gets 4 stars for the private dining space and service. Great secluded (and hidden) room off of The Living Room with excellent service. Our server checked on the origins of the salmon for me, which was great. For the record it was farm raised causing me to order the chicken. Good option for a lunch with a bunch of guys (as mine was). I think it runs about $45 a person. 2 stars for the food, and isn't the food what it's all about?! If you like butter you'll like Manny's. Because that's really all their is to their food--butter. I got chicken with asparagus. The chicken was fairly dry and plain. The asparagus spears were HUGE, like mutant size, which I found strange (and on the tough side). We also got an order of hash browns to share. Frankly, I have no clue what the fuss is about. It was just buttery hash browns, nothing special. Net: if you are someone who's palate and taste in food ranges from meat to potatoes then this place is for you! Otherwise, you'd be better off spending your dough at a more refined restaurant (like Lurcat).

If there is one piece of advice i would give to readers and fellow Yelpers regarding Manny's, it would be this: GO ALL OUT. Don't hold back. Order the biggest steak, do the surf and turf and do it with that Australian lobster tail. You won't regret it. Then there was me. Little ol' me who can barely fit three bites into my mouth before I feel like I am going to throw up from eating too much (I'm not anorexic - I have a really small stomach). So what do I order? Le Petit Filet Mignon. Not quite as flavorful as the sirloin that my fellow carnivores were devouring in delight, but good nonetheless. It had a bit of a woody aftertaste though, but that could have been remnants of my wine. Speaking of vine - we had two bottles. The first was a vintage red from 1994 - I loved it. It had depth and character. I enjoyed each sip and couldn't wait for the next. One complaint from a fellow vino - the decanter was not nearly wide enough to really allow the wine to breathe for us to gain a true feel of the flavors. Anyway, my companions weren't as big of fans of the vintage as they were of another wine from 2007 (btw, I'll post the names of the wine as a follow-up). The wine from '07 was light and fruity, and the table drank it up quickly. Be sure to get a bottle or two or three for your entree. Red wine + steak....so good. For dessert, we had something or another with chocolate. People aren't coming to Manny's for the dessert, y'know? Oh - I almost forgot about the sides. Get the bacon. It is really thick, really juicy, and really good. You might have a heart attack after eating it. The hash browns are drenched in oil or butter but it's also quite delicious. Don't forget the asparagus - it is quite possibly the only healthy item on the menu. A friend of mine ordered the scallops in an effort to stick to sea food without completely gorging, and it came on a piece of Texas toast (or the equivalent) that had a piece of bacon on top. Scallops and bacon.....Interesting dichotomy certainly. This place should only be for special holidays such as birthdays because the food is incredibly unhealthy.

Somewhere in America, calves are whispering, "When I grow up, I want to be the bludgeon of beef at Manny's!" Yes... Manny's does steak proud. These cows aren't dying in vain. It's rare that a steakhouse is as good as people say it is, but Manny's IS that good. The filet was one of the finest steaks I've ever tried. If I had an expense account and the capacity to eat anything I want, I would have tried a bigger and more interesting steak. There's no question it would have been cooked perfectly and insanely flavorful. Everything I tried, except for the complimentary bread (which was so-so), was delicious. The hash browns with onions were crispy and unctuous. The broccoli with hollandaise was simple, but perfect. If I could have tried the fried onions, I bet those are amazing. Too bad I went with people who weren't very hungry... My favorite part of dinner at Manny's was seeing Dallas Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones in town for the NFC divisional round of playoffs. Dressed in his finest suit, Jones was leaving from a high-priced Texas-sized feast, taking pictures with the manager, shaking hands with Cowboys fans, and feeling like a million -neh, billion- bucks. Actually, that wasn't my favorite moment. My favorite moment was the next morning when Minnesota put their final TD on the board, making the score 34-3, and Jerry Jone's shit out Manny's all over his Depends. THAT was truly awesome.

I heard Manny's was one of the few places anywhere that serves a bone-in filet. That being said, I went with rare plus and it was fantastic. My experience though, not as much. Our waiter was great, however his pick of wines was off. We ended up with one that we couldn't even finish, and another mediocre. The sides were just huge portions, but pretty tasteless. I give it 3 stars on the beef alone, I'd probably go back just for the filet.

How best to describe this restaurant? Let's just say I consider it the Old Country Buffet of the Steakhouse business. Massive quantities of everything but is any of it really over-the-top great to eat? With the exception of the steaks I would say no. Had better potatoes and vegetables in a number of other restaurants. True, not in these quantities, but like I said I was looking for some quality NOT quantity. Service has been really good down to surly. The place is so loud that it is frankly hard to hear your waiter. If you want a better steakhouse dining experience and aren't as concerned that the dog and most of your neighborhood gets fed with the leftovers I would suggest. 1. Murray's 2. Capitol Grille 3. Ruths Chris

Abundance and gluttony in a restaurant. The steaks are huge, the sides are huge, the California Cabs are huge, the desserts are bigger than huge (if that is possible) and it all fits in a huge & loud atmosphere. Recommendations: 1) Ask for a bone-in filet even if one isn't offered. It is a life changing experience when it comes to steaks. 2) Chappellet Signature Cab or Frog's Leap Cab are pretty good "value" wines relative to some other selections with bigger markups on the menu. 3) Request Bordeaux glasses instead of the far too small wine glasses they place on the table. Using a bigger glass makes a world of difference for the enjoyment of the wine and I'm surprised a quality fine dining restaurant like Manny's gets this wrong.

I knew this place was expensive, but my roommate had gift certificates so we went. The bill came to $183. I don't mind paying a lot for really good good, but this was NOT worth it. Manny's claims to pride itself on service, but the service was really slow and I felt like the waiter didn't like us. The steak was good, but I've had better at Jax Cafe and at Murray's, both for less money. I ordered mine medium-rare, and it was pretty rare on the inside but burned black and tough on the outside. It looked like that's how they did all of them on the outside. The atmosphere of the dining room was probably the worst part, though. It was over-lit, undecorated, crowded, and noisy. It felt like eating in a corporate cafeteria. Don't waste your money at Manny's. If you want a good steak, Jax Cafe is your best bet.

I took my parents to Manny's for Father's Day, having heard they had great steaks. I was not disappointed - this was probably the best steak I've had. We started out with a drink upstairs at Prohibition. The drinks are pricey but generally well-made and our waitress was very friendly. We moved downstairs and although the dining area itself was nothing to write home about, our waiter was friendly, funny and extremely helpful. He made this a truly exceptional dining experience and I'm disappointed I can't remember his name. I ordered the filet mignon and it was fantastic - perfectly cooked, tender and very flavorful. We also ordered the hashed browns with onions and the snap peas, and I both exceeded my expectations. Lastly, they have a very large and diverse wine list, and with so many great choices, I had a difficult time deciding on which to order. I can't wait to go back!

Brought my parents here last night for an early Christmas dinner. We shared the oysters and had filet mignon/tuna steak/prime rib. Excuse me, but have you ever felt meat melt in your mouth?? As my younger cousin texts, 2 di 4. The mashed potatoes: over the top. Key lime pie: over the top. Oysters on the halfshell? Well, under all of my hot sauce and horseradish I'm sure they were over the top (we shared). You're waited on hand and foot, served decadent food, and in a pretty bouyant (yet classic) atmosphere. What's not to like? So go next time you want to shell out for a killer experience.

Upon walking into Manny's you could feel an energy in the air. The ambiance was incredible. The seating, not so much. We were at a table for four and It was slightly cramped with little room between tables and chair backs were most certainly bumping into one another frequently. Upon sitting, we were cheerfully greeted by a knowledgeable server. Enough of the setting, let's get down to the food. To start we ordered the thick cut bacon, crab cakes, and scallops benedict. The crab cakes have to be some of the best I've ever eaten. There was little filler and large chunks of crab, in other words, perfection. The scallops benedict was the most amazing, flavorful, decadent thing I have ever eaten, anywhere. I was tempted to cancel my dinner order and request to have another 3 plates of scallops. They are a must try. For dinner I had the bone in filet, my staple food when trying new restaurants, I like to have a good comparison point for all quality restaurants that I go to. I was sadly disappointed. The filet had a charred crust on it that was overly saturated with salt. The meat was cooked to order and the inside was flavorful, as most bone-in's are. The outer saltiness really took away from what could have been a great cut of meat. We had the hashbrowns with onions, loaded mashed potatoes and the mac and cheese as sides. The only side worth commenting on is the loaded mashed. They were creamy and delicious and I would get them again. The food was most certainly above many other restaurants that I've been to but if it weren't for the scallops I could go without eating here again.

Here's the deal. Steak is really good, but steak isn't THIS good. I mean, it's not at all worth the price. Let's be honest, they do a good job with their meat, but there are plenty of places in the Twin Cities to get a good steak that aren't this extravagant and overpriced. I actually prefer Ruth's Chris to this place. The great thing about Manny's has to be the sides. I love the hash-browns, and the fresh veggies are also a plus. But those, too, are overpriced for the money. A major downside is the portion size. We got a birthday brownie for free, and it must have been 2000 calories of rich chocolate cake covered in 2000 calories of thick whipped cream, drizzled in another couple hundred calories of chocolate sauce. If money is no object, knock yourself out. The food is really good. But it's not a knock-out.

I love steak!!! So I love Manny's. There has never been a better steak on a plate in front of me in my life. I should stop here with the review, but it was so tasty I need to tell someone. At first, the waiter came out and asked us if we had ever been there. We said no and he informed us that he had a "presentation". Minutes later, he brought out a huge tray of every cut of meat imaginable. It had everything from a 50 oz bone in rib eye to a 4 lb Australian lobster tail. We settled on the 24 oz bone in rib eye each with a side of mashed potatoes for the table and asparagus for the table. These sides are not to be attempted by yourself. The huge plate of mashed potatoes, topped with sour cream, chives and onions is tough to tackle as a team let alone by yourself. The Caesar salad is huge when it is split. Simply put, everything here is a table size portion and looking at the menu prices, that's a pretty good deal. The salad was delicious, by the way. Crisp, garlic loaded and huge. Is there a better Cesar? After punishing our body with the 6000 calorie meal we decided we needed to try the desert. If you like banana cream pie then you have to order this. If you don't like it then you should order this and you soon will. Again, the portion was huge. Simply to big for one, especially after the amazing rib eye. This was one of the best finds I have ever experienced on Yelp. The steak was probably the best I have ever tasted. A pretty good compliment coming from a self proclaimed Alberta redneck!!!

Let's be honest. Manny's isn't about the food - it's about the scene. Granted, the food is pretty good. Manny's has excellent hashbrowns, though their Portabella Fries are my pick for their best appetizer. Their steaks can go without description - if they were grass fed and a little tastier, I might give Manny's a bump-up to five stars. Dessert, however, is where Manny's shines. Their Brownie Cake is one of the best cakes in town; it's immensely chocolatey and gargantuan. I grew up on this stuff, and I can attest that it is the food of kings. Actually, forego your whole meal at Manny's and order two Brownie Cakes. You'll thank me later. I would be remiss to neglect mentioning the scene at Manny's. Where else can you run in to celebrities, local and international, famous and infamous? The waiters truly have a good time, joking around with the patrons. The new location is much nicer than the old one, especially since it has windows.

I really don't want to like this place, but I can't help myself. The food, service and ambiance are as good as it gets for a steakhouse. I've been to steakhouses all over the country and this rate's in the top 5 by far. The steaks and seafood are out of this world, as are the prices but just know that going in. All of the desserts I've had are fabulous as are the hash browns!! The service is a special treat, not pretentious they treat you like your the only one there, it's quite difficult to get a reservation (any day of the week) so book early! Worth the money!!

Totally overpriced, but that's the selling point for some people. I thought it was odd and unprofessional that the waiter made a big show of tossing meat about after he found out one of us is mostly vegetarian, it was like he was TRYING to offend. The funny part is that the vegetarian doesn't choose to be, it's a medical thing. Moving past that, service was good enough. The filet mignon was lovely. But my favorite part, the thing I've wanted to go get, carry out, eat in, whatever, I want some...that kind of favorite....the mac and cheese. Not just me either. Soooooo nummy. I find it annoying to be around the "People who want to be seen" crowd, but it wasn't obnoxious when I went.

I am eating here right now. The portions are stupid. Seriously, I think these guys are idiots. It is more food than humanly possible to consume and I am a big guy. Excessive to the extreme. Who thinks this is a good idea to serve a 1 lbs hamburger? I certainly hope it isn't the guys from Ameriprise down the street who manage some of my mutual fund money. I would have gladly paid the same for half the portion. Now I'm riddled with guilt that I wasted over half my plate of food. If you have never been here before, you would never know. I am totally pissed off. I'm in Minneapolis for one day and now I wasted my only real meal opportunity by being served by a bunch of clowns. Anybody with any sensibility should stay away - but then again, you are obviously not the target customer. Now you know.

GLUTTONS UNITE Caveat: I don't like the concept of Manny's. They do a fine job of executing it, I just simply don't like it. Here's why: It's all about excess. I'm not even hungry by the time my entree comes. A bludgeon of beef? What are we, cavemen? The theatrics of the place are irritating. I'm sorry that your theatre major is worthless, but lay off the schtick. I just want to eat already. That bludgeon starts looking pretty good--as a blunt object--by the time the server is halfway thru the meat cart. Set aside a few extra hours for the experience. The food is generally very good--I think they do a fine job with just about everything I've had, including the lobster. I took one of my friends there around Christmas time last year and we just sat at the bar and cracked through a couple three pounders. That was probably my favorite Manny's experience as I didn't have to deal with any of what I outlined above. The service, aside from being annoying, is very good, they are attentive and personal, maybe even too much so for my tastes. If you crave the theatre and want to eat like a cavemen who just discovered cow and fire, this is the place for you.

Well, it's nearly my birthday again, which reminds me of my birthday dinner at Manny's last year. I have to admit I wasn't incredibly impressed by the food, but I did feel like a Big Baller at dinner. I love being in an atmosphere with ladies in their sexiest little black dresses and men in tailored suits. Service was great - very friendly and unpretentious. Love the meat and seafood carts they roll out for each table to mull over. Hubby had the New York Strip so he could sample something other than the filet mignon for once. He wished he had gone with the filet, as the strip was pretty fatty. I enjoyed my filet, but prefer the cuts I've had at Ruth's Chris and Murray's. Cocktails and wine at dinner were great and I was pretty giddy by the time my surprise birthday dessert arrived. As is the case with all menu items at Manny's, this chocolate mousse fudgey cookie concoction was HUGE! It actually had a steak knife sticking out of the top, it was so tall. However, although the dessert was very good (and free), I would have liked to have selected my own dessert! I really wanted the bourbon bread pudding a la mode. I think Manny's is certainly worth a visit at least once if you live in the Twin Cities just for the VIP experience. However, there are many other great fine dining and unique establishments downtown that will leave you more satisfied after plunking down a couple Ben Franklins.

Every single time I am in Minneapolis I will go to Manny's. Excellent service, excellent portions. It is the home of the butter knife steak for a reason, it ALL melts in your mouth. One of the few places I go I know I am going to spend some cash and no matter how much I spend I always feel I have had a great meal and experience. I have probably recommended Manny's to a minimum of 100 people who have ever mentioned going to Minneapolis

Food was pretty good but service was lousy. When it comes to food the appetizers were so so, steaks were good but for the money I expected more. The sides were huge and two sides were way too much for two people. The desert was also pretty good, but most items were way too expensive. Overall a nice place but for the money much better places in town.

I went to Manny's a month or so ago before going to the Theatre. I was expecting a lot more from an upper end Steak place. The seating at the new location is FAR from intimate, I might as well been at Perkins. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. I much prefer Murray's for both quality of food and overall dining experience.

Remember that Eddie Murphy sketch on SNL "Mr. White" where he disguises himself as a white guy and gets on a public bus? As soon as the last black guy gets off the bus all the stiff white people start to dance and pass around champagne and well, celebrate being white. Remember the shock on his face? That was me at Manny's at 8:00 this past Friday night. Let me begin by saying we started off the evening at the W hotel bar for a cocktail in an already "past it's prime" bling disaster that goes by the moniker "The Living Room". Though, I'm not sure who's living room it could possibly be. Maybe an ex-hedge fund manager from the 80's with a penchant for greasy glam. But I digress....We passed the time on an oversized corseted leather chair while watching old guys smooze call girls of the blonde and tan variety. When our table was called, we moved to an ever eclectic if not duh-lly decorated room with cowhide on the walls. (steakjoint + cowhide = duh!). The joint was packed with lots and lots of paunchy corporate fellas in black and little hotties showing alot of skin with old dudes soaking their teeth (not really, but bear with me..) The table next to us had 2 couples and one lady was so skinny I was seriously wondering if she was drinking an ipecac martini with her ginormous Fred Flinstone steak. The acoustics were so bad, we attempted yelling across our 6 person table to communicate but resorted to signing and gesticulating and then stopped trying all together to communicate. All we could hear was skinny martini and steak lady talk real estate and a neighboring table of 10 man dudes in black yelling into their iPhones. I know there is a lovely, dark room on the other side of THAT wall. How I longed to have been sitting THERE. The crowd? *read above* Folks with mad stupid shameless expense accounts, recession proof spenders and guys hoping to get laid by girls half their age. Trendistas tapping Lucky Magazine for the celebrity "do's and don'ts" (steering towards the "don'ts). Bridge & Tunnel fashions. Should I stop? I'm finding it hard to. Oh, yeah, and not a black person in sight. Needless to say, party was ON. Extra Note: Let me say that I consumed the most delicious filet at Manny's that I have ever had in my life. I ate that thing like it I was on death row.

I'm not one to give out the 5 star rating very often, but Manny's truly deserves this. Started the experience with a good beer and there bread basket. Another beer and it was time to order but not after the cart of meat showed up. I chose the 65 day dry aged New York strip and a side (tub) of loaded mashed potatoes. The steak was the best dry aged steak I've ever had. For those of you that have not experienced this old school way of increasing the taste of the beef really need to try it. The favors are fantastic and best of all no need for steak sauce. The potatoes again Amazing. Sure Manny's is not in everyones budget but for those of you that want a good splurge night out this is the place. For all of you that call this place your second home get ready for company. I plan on making it a habit more often. Oh and before I forget the cheese cake is amazing as well. If you can eat it all in one sitting I want pics.

I was here for a business dinner on a Monday night. No, we didn't want to be rushed but three and half hours!?!? That was a bit much. I like to consider myself a steak connoisseur, I supped on the petite filet, yes, it was good. BUT it didn't melt in my mouth like other steaks of this caliber have. We tried several sides including: mushrooms (tasted like beef gravy), hash browns w/ onions (meh, your run of the mill hash browns), asparagus (unimpressive, skinny, tasteless spears). The service was above average but the speech about their different cuts of meat was so rehearsed the same jokes were even told to the next table over. Which I was able to hear so keenly because the tables are SO close together servers were squeezing by me all night. The place has bright lighting, no music, it's loud, and lacks ambiance. For the price this just didn't cut it. I much prefer Ruth's Chris, a different ritzy steakhouse..or a steak off the grill at home.

Just ate at Manny's last week. This place is awesome! Being a West Coaster, there are very few GOOD steakhouses. Manny's has the best steak I've ever eaten. Was it expensive? Not really compared to California, but I guess for Midwest eating it's a bit expensive. The service is awesome and the prime rib can't be beat! I can't wait for my next visit to Minneapolis.

Great selection of steaks and very tasty steak. Their medium rare is probably called rare at most places, but I wasnt listening very carefully when the waiter described it. The services was excellent and the sides were good. The price is the only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars. $12.95 seems like a lot for a piece of banana cream pie

If you are looking for melt in your mouth steak and phenomenal food, this is the place for you! Never have I encountered such amazing steak. Manny's knows how to cook, serve, and present their food in a unique and fantastic way. We have been to many restaurants in different cities, and this is the best steakhouse I have ever been to. The service is great, the food is exceptional, and leave room for dessert, because it is to die for! Two thumbs way way up for Manny's.

I was there on business... went to Manny's because of it's awards and legendary stories about the food and wine. Quite possibly saw the largest lobster and steak I've ever seen... not to mention the mashed potatoes in the middle of the table required a shovel to eat them with. Take ten people with you to complete a few a la carte sides and a main course. You'll need them! Great wine too.

I am from Connecticut, but this place is my favorite restaurant in the world. Huge portions, waiters that feel like they all have a PHD in conversation and meat. I would recommend this place over any other place in the twin cities or America! LOVE MANNY'S!

When I die, I want to go to Manny's. As some posts have stated, it's all about excess. And sometimes you're just in the mood for being "over the top". When that mood strikes, Manny's is the place to go! The lounge in the W is incredibly dramatic.. it's a nice place to hang out while you wait to be seated. Very comfortable, mostly quiet, so it makes for a good way to start off an evening. I could go into endless detail as to why I love this place, but simply put, if you like large, excessive portions, being treated like a king, and some of the best steak you've ever had.. go to Manny's. Like another reviewer said, set aside a couple hours for this experience.. because none of it is rushed. The last time we were there was a 4 hour evening. The time before that was almost 6 hours from when we showed up, to when we left. It's no fault of Manny's, though.. once you get a few drinks in you at the lounge, get seated, order, talk, have more drinks, more talk, more drinks, desert.. after dinner drink.. it's midnight. That's part of what I love about the place, though.. 'course, reality strikes when you get the bill.. but, you know going into it that it's going to be an expensive evening. And well worth it!

Favorite steak in the city. Always, always prepared the way I ask, and the sides are fantastic! Ya it's expensive, but if you have the cash, use it here.

oh haaaay manny's!!! first of all, let me just preface by saying that Manny's serves up the best steak between chicago and san francisco and there is a lot of corn fed goodness in these parts! If you're looking for the quintessential steakhouse experience in mpls/st paul...look no further. This place has their routine down like none other...the service is no frills, knowledgeable (i overheard many a fantastic wine recommendation along with random beef knowledge), the sides are out of this world and the atmosphere is fantastic. A few thoughts on my evening: 1. A great place to celebrate! My sister got engaged and her new hubby surprised her by having our entire families at manny's when they arrived...the hostesses and servers were almost as excited as we were - which really added to the whole experience. 2. the steak cart. yum. there is alot of meat on there. I usually order the small filet, which is delectable...but on the recommendation of the server, i tried the bone in tenderloin and HEYO!!! new favorite cut of steak. I also had some nibbles of my dad's prime rib and i must say - it was right up there taste and texture wise...and you certainly get alot of meat for your buck. 3. the sides. ooooh yes the sides. giant, perfectly steamed spears of asparagus with bearnaise.....deliciously buttery hash browns.....succulent mushrooms.....we didn't get my favorite - the creamed spinach...but trust me, its fantastical. 4. dessert. giant brownie sundae supreme awesomeness. one giant thick, creamy chocolate brownie/cake topped with ooodles of fresh whipped cream, strawberries, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. seriously spectacular. now - a moment to discuss the clientele. If you are a single gal, as i am, drop everything, put on a "sexy office" (yea, you all know what i'm talking about) outfit and head to the manny's bar. HOLY COW (no pun intended) the place is literally crawlin with men folk...a gal can't walk from the table to the bathroom without being looked at like a steak on the cart....which, if you're in the right mood, can be just fine and dandy! but seriously...go to the bar...get a petite filet or a yummy burger and just wait to be showered with martinis and don draper types.

This is a very busy place. Had RSVP at 9:30pm and it was packed and lively. The service was amazing! Food came out in about 15 minutes when I expected the wait to be longer. The waiter was fast, enthusiastic and fun. The meat cuts were fulfilling and delicious! Had the filet mignon and was delicious. The bone in ribeye was to die for! The fat made the flavor so much better! The loaded mash was delicious and such big portions! Could have fed 4 ppl. The mushrooms were delish also! It was a fun experience and service was fast which I loved! Especially with how busy it was. I would recommend go try the steaks there! Joel, our server did an amazing job!

I love steak. A succulent, well marbled, dry aged rib eye is as good as it gets. Manny did it's best but compared to the best, It wasn't. Atmosphere: The decor was inviting and well lit, far different than the power lunch atmosphere of Ruth Chris and the dark lit rooms of Fleming's. Joyous conversations flowing with laughter and red wine populated the room. I could tell Manny's patrons loved their time spent at the restaurant. rating: 8/10 The waitstaff was also very attentive. Tony, who sounded like a NYC radio host, was courteous and welcoming. I enjoyed the meat and seafood cart. Unfortunately, the Mrs. was saddened by Larry the Lobster, who sat on that cart all night being raised for guests to see his size every 53 seconds. Other than that, our water glasses were never less than 17% empty and our food arrived promptly and timely. rating: 9/10 food: We ordered several things. We strayed from some of the recommendations (potatoes) because we knew we couldn't finish it and potatoes just aren't Mrs. G's thing. - Oysters Rockefeller: While they can't compare to Neptune Oyster in Boston or even Oceannaire, this dish was flavorful and tasty, a good start to the night. rating: 8/10 - Bone in Ribeye: I believe this should be every steakhouse's signature steak. The style that Manny's made their steak was similar to Gene and Georgetti's in Chicago, dry aged and broiled. Unfortunately, 20% of the steak wasn't edible because of how fatty it was. That fat should have been distributed through out the steak but it was bunched up in certain areas. In addition, I had a few bites with too much gristle. Overall, for $45.95, this steak should be far better than it was. rating: 3/10 - Small Filet Mignon: Mrs. G had the Filet Mignon. It was the perfect portion for her and enjoyed it. She asked for medium but now, will be moving towards a medium rare steak now. It was a tad too dry but to no fault of Manny's. rating: 7/10 - Sauteed Mushrooms: I didn't prefer their mushrooms. Cut in half, they were simply sauteed. I could have made these better at home. rating: 1/10 We've had great success finding quality cuisine, Vietnamese, Italian, Seafood. I hope we'll be able to find another steakhouse that compares in quality to the best in other cities. Manny's overall rating: 5/10

The steak came out lukewarm, like it had been sitting around for awhile. I was tempted to send it back but had already sent back a cauliflower side and I just didn't have enough time for them to recook everything. The flavor of my Porterhouse was OK but the meat was tougher than expected. Considering the expense of the meal I'd have to say I was extremely disappointed.

My wife and I cannot afford to eat at Mannys as often as we like but do try to make once or twice per year for special occasions. We have managed to keep our meal ticket under $100 by splitting a steak and skipping dessert. Sharing a steak is possible because of the extremely large portions and the fact that we always get an appetizer. If you are going to eat at Manny's do yourself a favor and order the Lobster Cakes. They are probably the most delicious food I have ever put in my mouth!! The steak to get in my opinion is their ribeye steak. My wife got the New Your strip and thou gt it was a little dryer then she would like. From now on we will probably get the same thing every time.(ribeye) Somebody mentioned that they were not seated anywhere close to their reservation time. I would recommend avoiding this by book an early seating such as 5:30 or 6:00. We like to get our big meal done with so we have the rest of the night to enjoy since we usually have a sitter at home.
