I had a "vegetarian plate" ($7.50) which was the perfect amount of food for lunch, and also gave me a chance to sample a variety of their vegan offerings. The fried potatoes were, oddly enough, not that tasty and could have used some extra seasoning. The salad was standard with lettuce and tomato covered in tahini. I thought their hummus was decent, but not the best I've ever had; however, their baba ganouj was pretty good with a tart flavor and good texture and was probably my favorite part of the meal. Unfortunately, the falafel was bland and they only gave two tiny patties on the whole plate, which seemed like too little. The service was fast and friendly, though I did eat there at 2:30 p.m., when it was completely empty. The decor is overdone and all the colors from the rugs/decorations have faded and all the furniture is from 1970s, but not in a cool, retro way. All in all, this is a decent place to get some standard-but-unspectacular Middle Eastern food for low prices, especially for lunch.

This place has delicious food that's really tasty! Friendly staff and even though it takes a bit to get your food, it's worth it, since they cook your food fresh when you place your order. Also the prices are reasonable. See you there soon!

I loved this place. The service was good when we went, but it was pretty quiet. I loved everything on the combo plate we got, especially the cauliflower. And the Turkish coffee and the baklava were both some of the best I've ever had. If you haven't had Turkish coffee before, you need to know not to drink down to the bottom - the grounds are left in. Also, it's more like espresso than regular coffee. The only thing stopping it from being 5 stars was that it wasn't my favorite style of pita and it isn't quite as amazing as The Great Greek (in Los Angeles - but if the belly dancer is awesome, it could sway me - she wasn't there when I went). I'm used to my Los Angeles farmers' market pitas that are a solid unit that you scoop or fold or wrap, but this place had the kind that can be split open and stuffed. But they were nice and soft, not brittle like that kind usually is, so they were still pretty good.

Enjoyed our first visit. Service was slow but extremely helpful.

Wow -- was that horrible. I guess I should be more specific. The food really wasn't that bad, but the service was so bad it just ruined the dinner. And I REALLY wanted to like the place. Obviously a little family-run business - they had this little 10-year-old girl helping her Mom by waiting tables. It's a Sunday night; maybe they just weren't expecting as many customers as they had. Or maybe an employee didn't show. I don't know what the excuse is - or if that's just the way it is there. It was 20 minutes before we got water. Another 15 minutes before they took our orders. Another 40 minutes before we got our appetizer Another 30 minutes before we got our entrees. After it was all done, we had to track someone down to get our check. We won't be going back. If the service was even a little bit better, we would go back. Food was okay and reasonably priced. The dining experience was terrible.

Great Ambience! Great Middle Eastern Food. I've been to Israel and Jerusalem's resembles so closely!

Drove up and the parking lot was empty but the open sign was on (I said that maybe they forgot to turn off the open sign). Got out of the car walked to the door and turned back and said I think its really closed I don't see any lights on...then I looked farther in and saw some slight movement turned out to be a person. I tried the door and tada it really was open. Not a single person there eating when we arrived. They really need a light in their doorway. Attentive warm service plus she tolerated my mothers excitement at recently being to Trader Joes (yeah she is from out of town). We ordered a veggie dinner plate and the meat dinner plenty of food for the 3 of us. Food came out really quick. All was good. Most memorable was my cup of lemon soup. So perfect on a cold night. Great flavors. YUM. If you can get beyond the deserted feeling of the place I think it is worth the visit.

Had the Stuffed Grapes Leaves for an appetizer with Hummos. Grapes Leaves were excellent and the Hummus was the best I have ever eaten. My wife and I ordered the Shwirma and Lamb Shisk-Kebab for dinners. The Shawirma platter was served with Tabbouleh and Hummos - all was excellent. The Shisk-Kebob was served with chopped tomato salad and saffron rice. The lamb was perfectly cooked and flavorful. We were too full to have any of the delectable looking desserts. All-in-all, the food was superb, and we will definitely be dining there again.

Once you step inside, you realize that you've been transported. The entire ceiling is tented with rich fabric. I felt like a world leader dining in the middle of the desert. Bring me my camel! The kofta is amazing, and the tabouli is fresh and flavorful. We tried every meat dish while there and loved it all. Bonus-you can bring your own wine in. Score! There's also a belly dance performance so I'd call ahead and make sure it's on before you go. Good for small groups and dates.

Wait staff was really good - really really good. I went there with my ladyfriend and we had a nice appetizer (lemon soup for her, stuffed grape leaves for me) - both were wonderful. The lemon soup smelled absolutely delicious and tasted it as well. I chose the Shawirma platter and my companion chose the Shawirma wrap - I could not believe that she ate the whole thing, but she did and felt wonderful afterwords. My dinner was absolutely fantastic - I ended up getting some extra Hummus and bringing it to work - get some and bring it home - outrageous stuff. I would eat there again (and again) - great downtown spot for a cheap dinner - our total was less than 50 bucks including dessert.

My partner and I had dinner here last night - the food was fresh and prepared with love, the service staff was friendly and attentive, and their patio area was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Absolutely disgusting!! This is the worst ethnic food I've ever tasted! The decor looks like an episode of kitchen nightmares. The service was very slow! I definitely would not recommend !

Ventured over here in my now worldwide search to find hummus and falafel as good as in Jerusalem (the real one in Israel). Well, this place wasn't even close really. It was sad. But the food was still good and the baba ganoush was fantastic. Plentiful food for cheap prices too. Only complaint was that the salad/tomatos could have been fresher. Salam Jerusalem's. If I'm ever back in Minne, I might eat there again.

Overall this was a great experience. The only reason I couldn't give five stars is because it was a bit chilly in there and the "freshly roasted turkish" coffee tasted like the stuff you get at a gas station, it was drinkable, but far from impressive. Those are just two minor cons in an otherwise great experience. This was the best middle eastern food I've had since moving to Minneapolis. I had the vegetarian combo platter (about $12) and it was a full spread of every delicious veggie option they offered. In addition, there was complimentary pita chips while we waited and warm pita bread served with the meal. We were even offered extra pita bread, which was a nice bonus. There appeared to be only one waitress on staff but she still managed to keep us happy and was very friendly and helpful the whole time. I was told they have a new afternoon lunch buffet and I've made it a goal to go back and check it out one of these days.

If there was anyway to give this place more stars, I would. Truly, Jerusalem's hummus alone transcends time. Space. And your colon. But the owner is always hanging about, and the prices are decent. Some may say pricey, but the food is worth it. I get the vegetarian plate: with hummus, baba ganoj, fried cauliflower, tabbouleh, fried potatoes, and some salad with a mild tahziki dressing-like substance. Then for dessert you get some Krima or Baklava. You will wonder why you ever went else where. Plus the ambiance is rad. Textiles hang low, with rugs and belly dancers on the weekends, you know it's gonna be your Saturday night mainstay. I miss you.

Best hummos in town, Great food, The chef plate is the best for a little varity of tastes... The belly dancing is great, being able to bring in your own alchohal is awsome, the one thing that has been consistantly bad for the 20 years I have been going there (If barely ok) has always been the service. Otherwise this place rocks!
