This is my type of bar! Everyone is welcome and every one knows each other! It has been around so long for a reason!

Frenchman's is one of those fun dive bars with decent enough burgers. The service is not the speediest but it's cheap. Typical burger bar food. This has been around forever and is a fun place to go grab a drink after work or a burger during lunch.

A simple neighborhood bar. Kinda drab, slightly depressing, but no more so than any other dive. A good enough place to stumble into post-softball to unwind with teammates whilst devouring a burger and downing a beer, all for just a few bucks. I deviate from these habits with a cold glass of chardonnay, a generous pour at just $4. A pool table, pull tabs, drunken mid-day shenanigans coming to near fisticuffs all guaranteed to amp up your experience here... I'd not seek out this establishment in my own time, but I am content tagging along.

I have many fine memories here. In fact, most of my social circle either met here, or met through someone we met here. You might even say, there was a time when I made a significant contribution to the monthly utility bills. Being the only bar truly in "walking distance", this is a very popular spot for the East Richfield locals. Food is decent, and there are a few things that are really great, like the club sandwich. Drinks are pretty cheap, especially during happy hour. They sell pull tabs, have pinball, video games, a Juke Box, and 3 pool tables - so there's plenty to entertain you. Very popular with the younger crowd on weekend nights, it can get loud and a bit rowdy, but some people find that part of Frenchman's charm.

This place is awesome. Everything one could want in a dive bar. Cheap drinks, good food and interesting people. I personally like going around 4:00 after work on a Thursday.

Yes, it has a reputation as a dive bar, but the people are so friendly and welcoming. I can't help but love it. It's genuinely cool and has a good jukebox. It's the Psyco Suzies of Richfield.

I have no idea how this place has such good reviews. The place is a 50' by 35' room they have pull tabs old pool tables and some random bar games. The sketchiest bathrooms in richfield. Place gets a little rough after 9pm. But if your looking to get over served for not a lot of money this is your place. Keep in mind if your female you will be harassed by the local drunks.

I like dive bars in general, but this place didn't add up for me. The joint is one big room, with cheap card tables and chairs and though they had a TV with the Wolves game on, the TV looked to be about 10+ years old and the picture wasn't great. They have pool tables but you might find yourself putting a patron's eye out as you try to take a shot. As I tried to order a beer upon arriving, I had to wait for a while before the bartenders even had a moment to tend to customers right there at the small bar. It's probably better to get a seat and then order through the server, but that can be chaotic when the place is busy. Furthermore, they have Summit and some other stuff but for the most part the place serves domestic swill by the pitcher load. I put $7 in the jukebox and the only song I heard was the one I used the 'play now' function to promote. Instead of hearing my songs (and I was there for a long time after playing them, hanging out with some people), we endured some awful country-pop music on and on droning and killing the vibe. It felt like we were in some roadhouse in Alabama. Towards the end of the night some dude puked all over the tiny and rank men's bathroom. I won't be back, Frenchman's.

A very random, fun crowd. Pool tables, video games, dive bar feel, good drink specials. I have never had the food but many people I know complement the burgers. It's always lively and busy.

I spent some of the roughest and some of the best nights of the last year drinking here. All sentiment aside, Frenchman's has most of the elements that make the greatest of great dive bars, yet hasn't quite put them together. They have small gross bathrooms with hook and eye "locks", old TVs, ancient 4-top tables that have chunks of laminate missing, a wall a/c unit, $8 pitchers of beer that come with 12oz frosty mugs, greasy fried food, a couple beat up old 6' pool tables that are about $1 to play, and surly regulars and staff. The only element that's out of touch about the whole place is the jukebox. Every time I've been there almost everybody I'm with (including myself) puts money in the thing, we're there for hours, sometimes even closing the place down, and never hear the songs we paid for. I swear people get there and dump their whole check in the thing on about 8 hours of songs, which wouldn't be that bad IF it wasn't all sappy pop country. The place is small enough that you actually can hear the jukebox, unlike bigger places (which also adds to the dive bar feel) and it would be nice to actually hear the songs you paid for.

I was starving so I decided to come here for a beer n a burger. The kitchen is scary it's a "Bar Rescue" type of place. Burger ok, the fries looked like odds and ends from the deep fryer.

God help me, I'm a regular. I play with a certain community musical group that has, singlehandedly increased the Newcastle consumption at this location. You may know us better as the shouting crazy people who are crowded around two small tables. We were displaced from our previous watering hole, and for awhile, formed our own substance abusing diaspora, trying out several other watering holes which proved inadequate. We have now found our home. If you're good to the staff, they'll be good to you.

Whenever you go to a bar a few times and the people that work at the bar are constantly there drinking on their nights off, you know you've found a winner. That, in a nutshell, is Frenchman's...a winner. The #1 primo reason for going to Frenchman's is the diversity of the crowd. Airline employees, quasi-homeless, hipsters, kickball teams, semi pro pool players, wannabe gang bangers, regular Joes, and the occasional police officer. Frenchman's really has it all. Especially if you like to drink. The service is usually very good as long as your'e not a total jizmop who doesn't tip and starts fights. If you are that kind of person, don't come here, since you are likely to get a beer bottle to the face. And let's be frank...you'd deserve it. The men's bathroom fits 1.5, which is a nice community-style touch since you know if you are a guy that you will meet at least one new person each time you have to pee. A few beers on tap, a greasy-spoon style menu with good burgers, Heggies pizza, and some good fryer food round out the best Richfield bar experience available. If you are nearby and want to increase your blood alcohol level along with your cholesterol, stop by and have a few. They are open until 2AM most nights, unless nobody is in there. Kitchen closes by midnight, but by then most patrons are too soused to order much food. Just make sure that you like country music. The regulars here take the jukebox seriously; play whatever you want, but be ready to use the "play mine first" option every time and still end up listening to the same six "contemporary country" music songs.

Nice casual place to get a drink. Stay away from the very large man with the over size sharpie he will move in with you and trash your place

Great bar, The bar is locally owned and operated. I love knowing that when I walk into this bar that I will always find friendly people to play a game of pool with or to sit down and watch the game on TV. They do have really great burgers and the service is as fast as it comes... I can not say enough about this bar. A+ on my list...

A great little dive bar to hang with the gang after softball. However, avoid anything from their kitchen. On a recent visit to satisfy a craving for the delicious burgers I used to have at Andy's Tap, I decided that Frenchmans may have a similar slider. Not only was I wrong, but noticed as we were leaving the cook throwing burgers on the grill that were a sickly gray color. Avoid eating here unless you enjoy dysentery coupled with bouts of late night diarrhea.

Everyone needs a great Dive in their neighborhood. Mine happens to be within walking distance of my house (score!). Plenty of TVs for sports, pool tables & video games plus a decent amount of seating are crammed into this unassuming building on 66th near Veteran's park. Anything deep fried comes out frighteningly good & the beer is always cold and flowing. The place still smells of stale cigarette smoke, but that adds to the ambiance! The bartenders /servers/ bouncers wear great shirts with slogans like The Liver is Evil and must be punished! Whats not to like?
