I stopped here twice last week, once late and the other for dinner. When I got there after ten, I could only order from the happy hour menu, which included the flatbreads. I went ahead and got the maple bacon/tomato flatbread and I'm so glad I did! It was very thin, not much thicker or different in consistency from a cracker, but incredibly tasty. The beers were good too! The next night I went back and got a garlic butter sirloin, asparagus, loaded baked potato, and the sample beer platter. The asparagus were the biggest I've ever seen, but not too woody as often happens with large stalks. The potato was outstanding--worth the $1.69 upgrade. I ordered the steak medium rare, I'd say it was rare but I'm not so fussy that I'd send it back. It was definitely delicious, although the thicker parts were undercooked. The beer sample platter was a great deal for $4.95, I didn't dislike any of them! Top it off with decent service, I will definitely be coming back to try out more of the menu!

Mixed review here. I've eaten at this location MANY times. The last time I was here my usually ribeye was about the second worst steak I've ever eaten. For some reason they went to a thin cut of meat and even when only cooked to rare it was over done and tough. I did't bother to finish it. Now to be fair it was offered to replace it, but it had already taken them 45 minutes to cook a rare steak that I figured I just try to eat this. Not so good. Good points: The beer's are always great! Their pretzel stick appetizers are wonderful Many of their other dishes that I've had in the past have always been great including the ribeye in the past. One thing, their bartenders are among the slowest EVER!

I'm saying "just ok". i was by myself tonight so I sat at the bar. The food was ok, the beer, actually not too bad. Just a couple complaints. The knife I received was pretty filthy. I saw the girl who was making a Bloody Mary for one of the customers. when she got the pickle for the drink, she reached her bare hand into the pickle jar. Only hoping she washed her hands.

Came here with a large group of people and they were great getting everyone's orders and bringing our food out in a fair amount of time. The menu has a variety of options from hamburgers, pasta, sandwiches, seafood, salads, steak and appetizers, which is nice for big groups. I ordered the Spinach Artichoke Chicken Sandwich with fries and overall it was pretty good. It would have been better if there was more spinach artichoke sauce and a smaller piece of chicken because the chicken kind of took over the whole sandwich. Overall had a good experience. The place is pretty plain and what you would expect from a chain restaurant.

Let's see: Freshly-brewed beers at one's disposal - how can you go wrong? The menu looked pretty big, but I was in a burger mood so I ordered the bison burger of all things. Not bad. In fact very good. Your classic burger with a unique twist. Ohh and the pistachio cake is a really good dessert selection. The staff is great which is a plus. A great place to dine for a chain.

Go for the drinks and happy hour only. Service is usually spot on, and pleasant. Quality of food is absolutely weak. Fish is not fresh or quality, fruit is not always edible. Orders are generally correct first time around.

Dropped by GC last night for a quick bite to eat, and was thoroughly annoyed with the service. I'll keep this far more brief than I normally would. Food was tasty. I went with the salmon ceasar salad which was really good. Ashley went with the bbq chicken flatbread and the soup of the night, turkey wild rice. By all accounts, both were really good, and the soup on yesterdays' cold night was perfect. So, lets discuss the service. We sit down, throw in the water request and our order at once, considering we're both over the night. Our server puts in the order, strolls to the bar, goes around to his 2 other tables, then back to the bar to chat with his work friend before finally realizing "holy shit, I'm at work, I should do my job." I'm not sure of the timing to it, but, she went to the bathroom, came back, and I went and came back with no agua at the table. Food comes out really shortly after. We got one check after we each maybe had a bite. Cool, "first bite ok?" I get it. Then, as water ran out, the server vanished. Literally, dude has 3 tables, and simply vanished back behind the bar. The table behind us had great service from their waitress, attentive, friendly and personable... made me jealous in a way. Ours, needed a god damn road map and signal flares to find his way back to our table. My bowl thing sat their empty while we waited for him to come back not to clear the table, but, get a box and refill so we could get out. Painfully slow to get water refilled and wait for the box to show. I was prepared and had my card ready to go without even looking at the total just to save us the extra time it'd take him think about coming back to take it. Food was solid, but, meh, experienced way better, especially at other GC's.

Note to corporate management: The constant pushing of "buy more beer" quickly creates a commercial, impersonal atmosphere. This was probably the third, or fourth, time I'd been to this restaurant in the past year. Again this evening the beer was very good. The food was very good. The service at the bar was very good, with the exception of the pressure-salespersonship of the beer. Once I observed it, I was reminded of what I found unpleasant about the atmosphere previously. Why, then, do I keep returning? Convenience, and short memory, I suppose. I will look for another establishment for my next meal in this neighborhood. Perhaps, I'll find an atmosphere that puts less emphasis on volume-sales of alcohol, and, perhaps, I'll better retain my memory.

No issues. We walked in way off schedule (9pm) and not quite sure if we could eat but we hadn't. Pointed at the happy hour menu which even though I was joking was now active till close. Score, the missus had a flight of their fantastic house (micro) beers and I had their Stout. Not disappointed! Flat bread pizza each and walked out with a check under 30, smoking deal, great service will be back.

I don't like to do reviews of places like this because they are all pretty much the same and can be hit or miss. I will say the steak I ordered was really good and grilled to perfection. The server was friendly and kept my glass full. For that reason four stars for this type of establishment.

I've been here many times over the last few years. most visits have been midday during the week. a couple have been in the evening. over all, this location is very consistent and I've been a happy diner. most of my lunch visits have been at the bar and there's never been an issue with seating or service. bartenders have been very personable, attentive and just the right amount of service. my only complaint would be the 'lunch menu' 4 oz. burgers. the price is right around 7/8 bucks but the burgers were pathetic. I've had better at Superamerica or Holiday convenience stores. If you're looking for a filling pub burger, spend the extra couple dollars for the 8 oz. hamburger. The patio is on a nicely landscaped pond on the east side of the building. afternoons in the summer are beautiful here. Hot Tips: the grilled garlic butter sirloin is ridiculous. delicious. If you're a stout fan, the Broadaxe mirrors Guinness draught. very light chocolaty stout. overall, of my visits to the Eagan GC, everything has been a five. My only critique is the lunch menu burgers. hence the four stars. very good for corporate food.

In the area for business, and the hotel highly recommended this place. I was a bit skeptical, but I'm glad I chose GC. The beer was excellent! Had the Doubke IPA, and then the pale ale. I then had the Texan Burger. As far as "bar and grille" burgers, it was tasty...but not "outstanding". The service was by far the best! And the atmosphere is a little to "franchise" looking for a "micro-brew", but it is very clean, and very nice. Overall, I was very pleased, and I would definitely go back on my next visit to the area.

Ok place for happy hour! The prices were reasonable but the bar area caters more towards a suburban-restaurant feel. I typically think Granite City is great but for happy hour in Eagan, I would imagine there would be a more lively atmosphere. I had a drink and a beer plus the edamame. Service was great, food/drinks were fine. I'll definitely come back here though as the restaurant and food are good, just the happy hour atmosphere for a Friday were not to the standards I had hoped for. A large part of that depends on the energy of the crowd there at the time though. ;)

Large group for lunch. No issues. The service was happy, fast, helpful. The food came prepared as expected, was cooked well and the visit was good. We didn't get to try any of the beers unfortunately on this visit.

Walking in i was skeptical of the place. The hostess staff had no personality and wondered what kind of my friend suggested for brunch. Once seated, it took only a minute or so for the server Nick to greet me. He was very friendly and outgoing.

Stopped for Sunday brunch. It was next to my hotel. This is probably the most gourmet Sunday brunch I've ever eaten. From the servers standing by waiting to slice prime rib to your liking, to the build your own omelet and waffle bar, there was absolutely no disappointment. I'd honestly rate this place 5 stars, but the hostess rolled her eyes when I requested a booth rather than a table. Our server was great, though, and had a laugh so obnoxiously loud that it was contagious.

I am currently in Minneapolis on business but am lucky enough to have a friend who lives here so I was able to get out and have some fun at the end of my day. Since both of us love beer we decided to try out Granite City Brewery. Turned out to be a very good choice! Now I have to be honest, when I first walked in I didn't have very high hopes. It reminded me of a typical chain brewery like BJ's but once we were seated I changed my mind almost immediately. They don't have a very extensive brew menu but they have something for everyone really. Meaning a pale ale, a German lager, an oatmeal (my favorite duh), a double IPA and a regular old lager. Our server Brianna was fantastic. She was friendly, sweet and had a great sense of humor. She took really good care of us. She was attentive while not being a helicopter server. I ordered the stout and my friend had the German lager. The stout had a good deep flavor to it and the German lager was crisp. We ordered some appetizers to split for dinner. The boneless wings in Asian glaze were really good. Not too sweet and had a little kick. It was a decent portion as well. We also ordered the spinach artichoke dip. It was warm and gooey. While waiting for our appetizers to be delivered Brianna sent over a couple of tastes of their seasonal brew for us, the vanilla porter. This is a thing you should try. She also brought out two samples of their soups for us when our appetizers were delivered, the loaded baked potato ( this was good but the amount of bacon was a little over powering, yes I just typed that) and the Northern Cheddar and Ale (this was amazing and I could probably eat a vat of it if I wasn't trying to maintain my girlish figure). For our next round of beers I had the pale ale and my friend had the double IPA. Again, both good brews. The pale was tasty. I could taste a hint of fruit in it but I liked that. The double IPA was good and strong without being so hoppy your eyes cross. We could tell that business for the evening was winding down and they had begun setting up for Sunday brunch but they were careful not to make us feel rushed in anyway. When we finally decided to get out of Brianna's hair she happily split our bill for us and even brought us a treat bag to take with us. She said she wanted to make sure that my friend came back sometime and that I had a great time there during my trip. The food and beer were good, real good. But the outstanding friendly service we received from Brianna was amazing. This girl deserves a gold star.

We went in for dinner at 5:30 with my year old nephew and the service and food was great until we wanted to pay and leave. Their computers all went down and they just kept telling us over and over "just a few more minutes". This went on for an hour. We finally left shortly before 9:00pm. Obviously they didn't want to get the old school credit card carbon copy payment processor out and chose to make the entire restaurant wait to avoid having to stay late and manually call in payments. There were no managers around telling customers what was happening, our server was clearly told to tell everyone to keep waiting. Really disappointed in how they handled this incident on a Saturday evening. I emailed corporate the day after but my sister not I have ever got a response.

The Cheese soup and Olive & Prosciutto flatbread are awesome. And the growlers are a must have to try all the different beers the Prairie Vixen is my favorite. The waiters are always very nice have never had a issue out of all the times we have been here. Will definitely be back again.

Visited Minneapolis for a lunch meeting and the local group settled on Granite City. I understand it's a chain but relatively local to Minnesota. Starting with the positives, service was great. We had a very upbeat and knowledgeable waiter, who also doubles as the restaurant marketer. He was very flexible with our group of 8, which was nice because we had originally booked for 15 but many canceled. The restaurant was very understanding about this. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken with Rice and Broccoli. It was average, to be perfectly honest. About the same quality you'd get if you just went to Costco, grabbed a boneless chicken breast, tossed it in the oven, and drizzled it with some barbeque sauce. Again, not bad just average. The rice tasted like boxed Uncle Ben's. The server was great. The broccoli was fresh! Have I mentioned I really liked the server? Afterwards, we all sampled this huge cookie they have on the menu for dessert. It was good, came with vanilla ice cream even. But that thing is huge so be ready to split one. Maybe even split one among 4 people. Good business lunch and AOK spot for dining,

The entree's here is not worth what they are asking. I would only come back for appetizers. Their flat bread pizza was pretty good! For a brewery, I'd expect more out of their beer. It's okay, but there are a lot better options around with much better food. I won't be back for a dinner; I just don't see the value. Best beer they have is the black and tan.

Not sure why this place only has 3 stars. I went here for dinner tonight. Super nice staff. When I mentioned I had never been here, they brought out 2 small cups of soup for me to try, even though I already ordered dinner. I asked how the ribs were and of course they said they were great. Well, I would rate them in my top 5 ever! Absolutely delicious. After I declined dessert due to being stuffed, while bringing my bill, also brought a bag of cookies for my sweet tooth later. Who does that? One of the best restaurants in Minneapolis, that's who. Can't comment on the brew side as I'm not much of a beer drinker. But the food sure exceeded my expectations. And of course the service did as well.

I was kinda disappointed on my trip to GC I've been to some in Iowa and always been happy this trip here was a one time deal so everybody get there own opinion. Mine was- I was treated nice by front counter and waiter was nice and friendly but it was slow service getting menu and food took a while and my personally fries were cold by the time It got to my table. Burger I had was good but for the $10 price tag I expected more. I can get a decent burger and cold fries and wait 45 min for my meal other places for $5-6 a plate

YUM! The food was great and the service was amazing! You have to try their Idaho Nachos...AMAZING!! I had these as my meal and they were very filling along with delicious!! The atmosphere was great! They brew thier own beer, which was great!! It wasn't too far from the airport either which was perfect since I had a flight to catch! Would defiantly recommend and would come back next time I'm in town!

The reviews aren't wrong. This place gets 2 stars, and only because: their interior is decent and they brew beer onsite, although it's almost as lackluster as the food. I ate here twice during a business trip and both times the best I can offer up is: Meh. I've experienced better, you betcha. One lunch, one dinner: thin, watery french onion soup, with a mere dusting of cheese on top. Mediocre salad that featured chicken strips and some kind of baked thin Italian bread plus lettuce and a horrific sauteed glomp of onions and olives(?), just a terrible lunch salad for 14 bucks. Dinner was about the same: a BLT which had avocado added, which became a BTA on their menu (still had lettuce on the sandwich, so WTF?), and the hook was waffle fries-- FO FREE!-- with this particular sandwich. The entire sandwich was soggy, thereby rendering the multi-grain bread nasty. Waffle fries also mediocre. I must mention the wait staff was nice and competent both visits. Should have gone elsewhere. Any worse on the food items and I'd have given it a solid one star. Stay away. There has to be much better brewpubs in Minneapolis and much better choices in and around Eagan/airport areas.

We decided to visit Granite City because we were in the area and wanted brunch. We were seating in Derek's section, conveniently located right next to the buffet line. As Derek was taking our drink order, he was interrupted by a lady in the buffet line because someone had spilled the Sterno under one of the chafing dishes. Derek sprang into fireman mode. He told us he would be back with our drinks, which he was after we started eating. Derek was so attentive, despite being busy serving a large group in another part of the dining area (I could see him from where I was sitting). Not only was Derek attentive, and knew exactly when I needed another Mimosa, but he has an awesome sense of humor and personality. He even joked with me about all the Disney stuff I was wearing. Sunday brunches can be tough to work for servers, but I could tell Derek was experienced. He worked the restaurant like a professional, not be harried or rushed. He had the perfect attitude. Any Disney/Pixar fan will understand what I mean when I say he's as cool as Crush from 'Finding Nemo'. I hope Granite City recognizes Derek for his hard work and most of all his fantastic attitude. He is the kind of person that reinforces positive brand image, and Granite City is lucky and should be proud you have Derek representing the Company.

I used to go to GCFB at least a few times a month. Then they changed up a lot of things like their menu, quality if food, presentation if food, and increased the price. I had a few bad experiences and didn't go for a year. Visited last night and it looks like they are better. Serving sizes are a bit smaller but it seems like they changed the menu back to what it used to be, probably because so many people complained. The beer is decent and its a good deal to get a growler if you drink a lot of beer in general.

Blah chain place chosen by clients for lunch. Don't go unless you're stuck. It gets two stars because wasn't completely dismal. TIP: It's a brewery, too, so maybe the beer and bar scene is decent. Just saying.

overall this place is pretty decent. the food was solid. I ordered the fish tacos. for the price they are an outstanding value. I was in shock with the size and amount of fish in these. very generous to say the least. they weren't just bulky but also very flavorful. the service was great. our server was excellent at his job and a true asset to the business. he knows how to get his tables to spend money. always on the upsell. only downfall came when I asked to substitute the rice for fries on the fish tacos, he replied with hesitation "well, we're not suppose to, but everyone does it anyway, so yeah I can do that" I was left a bit confused by this statement. if EVERYONE does it why won't management listen to their customers and throw this rule out the window. what if had gotten a new "by the book" server. would he had refused me fries? luckily, that wasn't the case and all was good. as this is a "brewery".... the beer... We ordered a pitcher of the northern. and honestly, you could had filled it with bud light and I wouldn't had known the difference. that takes us into my final note... THE DECOR... absolutely awful. this is a brew house.. not a Denny's. not sure what the designers were thinking but they absolutely missed the mark. this location is in need of an upgrade. make it feel like a brewery, warm cozy.. etc.

Went there with an out of town guest - work - they put us in the back room - no big deal there - the entire restaurant was mostly empty though - and they put a bunch of cackling hens right behind us - you can't space the guest out slightly so we can actually hear? Pack em in like sardines and no thought to the dining experience. If the place was actually full, i would understand. Anyways, got the lunch asian chicken salad. It was horrible. Waaaaaaayyyy too much dressing, hardly any chicken. The only redeeming thing about my lunch was that the french onion soup was really good. The only other soup options were two different versions of potato soup - can you be a little more creative? I REALLY wish i would have gotten the cuban - not because it would have been good, I really don't know, but the salad was just bad - blah. Classic suburban dining fare I guess - tasteless, over sauced. The beer here isn't great either - I love beer - but not impressed at all. Oh and the service was sub-par.

My work is located right next door and the coworkers and I like to stop by after a long Saturday. They have all you can drink mimosas which you can choose pineapple, orange or both as the preferred flavor of choice its a great deal if you ask me for 8bucks keep them coming! Majority of the time this place is packed with tons of cars loaded in their tiny parking lot but finding a table is never a problem. Try to sit in their patio when its a nice day out. Every time I've gone here as well the service has rocked my socks off the servers know what they are talking about and have many different suggestions if you have a question of what food to get. One thing though you can feel that they are trained in upselling on everything so keep that in mind when they ask you that soup of the day is a great pairing with their flatbread pizza. Oh and their flatbread pizzas are also yummy everyone of them and its a lot to eat I've brought some home every time I've gone its also included in their happy hour menu as well. I believe happy hour runs from 1-5 on saturdays but don't quote me on that.

Not fresh.. Went in and ordered a chopped salad at the end of lunch hours -- around 2;30. Salad came out in 2 minutes and was clearly in a refrigerators/freezer for a long time (there were some ice crystals on a couple piece of lettuce) and the bowl was frosted over. Even worse, the server lied to me about this and said it was just made fresh. I won't be back

Loved the food but service was VERY slow! By accident I had lunch at the Granite City in Maple Grove (I think) and dinner at this Granite City - on the same day. Both have the same menu and the food was great at both locations but the service at this Eagan one was super slow. Each of our entrees were great though, so I will definitely eat here again when I'm back in the area.

I love Granite City. They have a variety of food options and make great beers. As a member of the "Mug Club", I receive valuable benefits (such as a larger, mug-sized beer when I order a regular... hence the name of the club) every visit. I also appreciate the specials, like their late night happy hour and kids eating free on Sundays. I would highly recommend flatbreads and the burgers. The BBQ chicken flatbread is a great option and always hits the spot. They usually have a rotating menu with a special flatbread on it -- this is hit or miss. The taco flatbread, which was a rotating item, was awesome and should be added to the regular menu. As for the burgers, the Bedda Chedda Burger is quite delicious and very filling. Service is probably the weakest point here. If you get lucky, you will have an attentive waiter/waitress that responds quickly and is attentive. If you are unlucky, it will take you a long time to get your beer (seriously? Why? You're a brewery!) and best of luck trying to get your check at the end of the meal. The only other critique I have is that their truly healthy meals are semi-sparse. They have a handful of options, but most of the food is either over-sized or heavily leverages cream-based or other "heavy" sauces. They've even dropped their buffalo chicken sandwich from the regular menu (which used to be perfect, with the sauce on the side). Add a stir fry and maybe a couple other grilled chicken entrees and they would be set.

A friend and I came to eat here when I was traveling through MSP on business the other month. GCB seemed like a good choice since Eagan was a little lacking in dining options. It was during the work week so the restaurant was not crowded by any means. Interior was ok, super sports bar so don't expect fancypants dining experiences. Our server was nice and prompt. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos and they satisfied my hunger for the night (although not amazing by any means). I am, however, a little surprised that for a sports bar, they didn't have Sweet Tea Vodka. On that note, I ended up ordering a lemon drop with chambord with my meal. The restaurant was neither memorably amazing, nor horrible. Just kind of in the middle and I would group it with Chilis, TGIFs, etc.

0 stars- just point blank disappointed with this place. We have seen this place a few different times and finally thought to try it out. We started with the artichoke dip and ciabata bread and the beer sampler. The bread is different it was hard as a rock and stale as if it sat on the counter open for a week, the dip however, was delicious and that's where the fun stopped. I now understand why the beer is so cheap. You would have to get drunk to not realize mcdonalds would be a better choice. My wife ordered the peppercorn Blu cheese burger with fries and I ordered the 14oz ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Her burger was luke warm and dry the fries were also cold and under seasoned, my meal should have been fed to chickens because the mushrooms and the steak had no flavor and was mildly warm, the mashed potatoes had no flavor and was served cold. The coleslaw was okay, definitely better coleslaw at KFC. The service was good but you know there is a problem with the food when the server comes and asks "how are the drinks" instead of asking about the meal. For a grand total of $66.64 we would have had better luck having good fresh food from Chucky Cheese. We will never try this location again it's just not worth it. We will give the maple grove location a try but wow chef Ramsey would have had a fit in this place. Just horrible!

I came here for lunch. The restaurant is really clean and staff is nice. Almost no vegetarian options. I'm not sure how this is possible. I ended up having to get the shrimp tacos. The call it an 'oriental' glaze. This means sugar and vinegar. It was way too sweet, probably to cover the lack of flavor and the fact that the chef is dialing it in because he works at Granite City. I've come here for brunch, and that's actually decent. They give you tons of food, which is fine I guess.

I can't understand giving this place a five star rating. Seriously, people. You really need to broaden your horizons if this is as good as it gets for you. Just like Jake's around the corner, this is overpriced but absolutely average food. It's a chain, and it shows. I did dinner once, but won't waste my money again. For lunch, it's not bad, I'd probably upgrade it to a two-and-a-half star rating. It's usually packed, but not too loud for a business lunch. The Cuban sandwich isn't bad, and the Grilled Portabella Melt is pretty good but avoid the Spinach Artichoke Chicken sandwich-it's a complete mess and can only be eaten with a fork and knife. Staff seems capable and friendly. Eating here just makes me long for Sydney's, the restaurant formerly in this location.

Great Brewpub style restaurant. Very family friendly. The bar area is a bit small, but doable. Join the mug club, and you get man-size beers at a discounted rate. The overlake sandwich is very good, as are the Idaho nachos. IMO probably one of the better restaurants in eagan.

A consistently decent place in the south metro. Fairly standard bar and grill fare. The Mug Club is a great deal if you're into that kind of thing. My last visit here was on the Fourth of July. Being a 100+ degree day, we didn't feel like cooking anything and ventured out to find something to eat. What we found was restaurant after restaurant just as muggy and hot inside as it was outside - one place actually had to close because their A/C broke. We finally ended up at Granite City where it was not too busy and it was actually cool inside. We enjoyed our meal while relaxing in the oasis that was a functioning A/C system. And to our surprise, the Granite City parking lot is an awesome place from which to watch the Eagan fireworks show! Perfect!

Typical bar and grill like hoolihans. The food was awesome. The hostess punched my babies cheeks though. We don't know her. Don't touch my baby lol.

As good as their food is I don't think they could ever match the old Sydney's that used to he there.

Excellent casual dinner spot evidenced by the fact that its always busy. I highly recommend the wisconsin cheese soup as well as the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Only word of caution is beware of friday and saturday nights which are extremely busy!

Pretty good most of the time. It is a comfortable, casual eatery that certainly should have something for everyone. We've been mostly happy with our choices over the years. It's one of those places that you forget to go to, but when you go back, it's pretty good and you try to remember to come back more often. Good place to meet folks for a group meal.

I forget how much I love this place! I love the atmosphere of this place and all the food options. Older demographics... Of course I did go immediately after work, so the 6 o'clock crowd had a few older folks. I ordered a mojito and the BBQ chicken flat bread pizza... So amazing... It's already inspired me to try and make one at home! Cilantro, red onions, chicken, BBQ and chicken, obviously! Of course I can't leave out the flat bread. Bam! My friend and I were seated in a section more geared for families... But I didn't even care because I was ready to order my food and eat! Our waitress was so friendly, intuitive and prompt. She noticed we were missing sides so she brought them out immediately with no questions asked. With my meal and beverage I paid about 17 bucks... Not including the tip. So I'd say about average. Those froufrou drinks always getcha!

A broad blend of mostly American, slightly upscale fare. Attractive, open stone-based building, this place is always busy. A favorite among locals, Granite City is a popular destination for evenings out with a group or business lunch. Attractive yet small bar. Plasma TVs scattered here and there. On our most recent visit, the services was lackluster at best.

Decent place for food but slightly on the expensive side. Great if you want to try their local brews. Have been to this place quite a few times mostly with work colleagues. The appetizers are ok.....nothing out of the ordinary. Tried their Broad Axe Stout this time and it was good. Much lighter than a Guinness when compared.

Do you like TGIF? Do you enjoy Applebees? Do you have a frequent diner card with Chili's? Yes?? Go here, you'll get the same stuff for more money. Our waitress didnt bring out the bread until our meal arrived, and everything came out randomly..which could be the fault of those working on the line..but eh, I've had better food and service elsewhere.

Maybe it's just the brunch that is freakin' awesome, so that's all I can comment on since it's the only meal I've had here. Plenty of tv screens for the sports fans, and those that are looking for a distraction. I think the my little niece was awed by all the people in the dining area too. I wasn't sure what to expect since brewery and bar food seem to be kind of average for me. This place surely exceeded my expectations, I've never seen a breakfast buffet so big at a bar. First I went for savory food items, and then came back around for seconds and did sweets. I really liked the way the baked cheese hash brown. The thick sliced bacon was chewy and crispy and yummy, and the sausage was good, too. I liked the biscuits and sausage gravy. The scrambled eggs were good as scrambled eggs can really be. I probably should have gone for the omelet station instead, but got too wrapped up in all the other items in the breakfast buffet. The prime rib carving station was a nice touch with mashed potatoes and gravy as well. They also had soup and salad. They have this caramel glazed cinnamon roll that is SO good. I'm still thinking about it now, and how I can talk my sister and brother-in-law into sending me some of that. The croissants were still warm, soft and buttery, and the flakes were crispy. I actually wanted to be the big bag lady that would take these pastries and hide them in my purse to have for later. How is it a wonder that I have been gaining weight?! I feel like I did miss out and forgot to try out the bloody mary here. The only negative thing I can say is that the waitress was a bit slow. We had to wait a while for our refills on the coffee and other items, but it was busy. Prices here are pretty comparable as to other spots like this. I saw that they have locations all over the Midwest, so it's good to know that this is a good brunch spot.

They have great bartenders who know remember you by first name and know what you like. They have a decent "Mug Club" that is only $10 for a lifetime membership. You also accumulate points with food purchases. I like that they have a seasonal beer that is different, for a change of pace. The food is a bit overpriced for what you get, and their Sunday Morning brunch buffet is good but does not live up to the hype. I personally prefer Jake's brunch buffet over Granite Cities, but even that one isn't too amazing. Great, friendly, service with pretty good food.

My wife and I went here for a quick bite. Service - GREAT ! Waitress was REALLY on the ball and the Manager came by to check on our meal etc. We showed up on a Tuesday evening around 5:30 ish and the place was just starting to get busy; plenty of parking though. Clean, friendly and GOOD food served fast & hot ! I had the buffalo chicken wrap and it was AWESOME - nice & spicy. My wife had a pasta/chicken dish that was also very good. The ONLY real downside is the price. Most items on the menu are fairly expensive ($14.00 for Chicken Marsala - drinks are ALSO pricy), so PLAN on forking over at least $60+ for two (drinks/dessert/tip etc..). Otherwise, a good meal. :-)

Let me start by stating that both my wife and I are in our 60's. We heard that Granite City serves a decent steak and decided to give the place a try. Since my wife and I like to savor an adult beverage while we view the menu, we ordered our favorite beverage. The waiter asks for our ID. Is he being serious or insulting? Well, he refused to serve us until he saw our ID. Rather than be insulted any longer, we left.

Mother's Day - The Fam of 10 wanted a decent place to enjoy dinner before heading our separate ways. GC delivered, but....My Mother's pork, cooked in stout, was so dry and tasteless that she pushed it to the side and focused on the veggies. My chopped salad was, fresh, but kind of watery. Everyone's burgers looked fabulous so I recommend sticking with their burgers & sandwiches. When we mentioned that 4 members of our family had birthdays this week, they comped two chocolate chip cookies (that were gigantic!!!), freshly baked and oozing with vanilla ice cream. A nice finish to an otherwise decent, but not remarkable meal. Service was good, prices were fair. Not the best, but decent fare.

I do not know why everyone has given this place such a low rating. If you like good beer and a good environment this is the place to go in Eagan. When I go there I will always get the two-pull beer, but I recommend trying all their beer at least once (not in the same visit though). I have three go-to dishes when I come here. If I am going for lunch I will always get their bleu peppercorn burger with waffle fries. If I am not as hungry I will go with a side salad and their french onion soup (best french onion soup I have EVER had). For dinner if I am with others we will usually get their flat breads as an appetizer and I will go with the Rosemary Filet for dinner. This steak is always very flavorful and doesn't have the price tag that normally comes with a filet. I have never have brought a friend or family member who did not enjoy their time here. We will usually go here for at least one or two of my friend's birthdays per year. I definitely recommend trying this place.

A few years back I used to be a regular at Granite City, basically just to earn the free growler through the mug club. Now that I've tried so many other places and have become more of a beer snob I rarely go back. It's not a bad place but the food is nothing special, just a little above average. I usually go there with my parents because they like it. When it comes to the beer I couldn't really recommend it, none of the beers really do anything for me. If I do get a beer it's usually the 2-pull or whatever the seasonal is. One flat out complaint I have is the size of the bar. For being a brewery with a bar it's one of the smallest I've ever seen. You can almost never find a spot. All in all it's better than an applebees or ruby tuesday or any other chain bar/grill but I can't say much more than that.

GC is my home away from home. The service here is 1st class and the food is top notch. I have yet to find an item on the menu that I do not like. "buff toss" anything to add some great flavor. Bartenders do a great job of making you feel right at home!!

Absolutely stunning service! The wait staff, the food and especially the alcohol is unbelievable! I've come here over and over and will come back as long as they are in business! You have to try their homemade beers! If your a beer fan this will be the best beer you've ever tasted! The food is just as incredible! You have to stop here! I have no idea why it has been rated 3 stars because this establishment deserves nothing under 5 stars! If you want amazing quality you're going to have to pay a little money. For the quality all around this place has amazing prices!

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I ordered a coffee and a Baby Bedda Burger and my hubby got their iced tea and the overlake sandwich with cheddar ale soup. My coffee was cold - and then I remembered that their coffee is almost never hot. And I mean cold enough that the cream sat on top of the coffee instead of blending in like a lovely cloud. Urgh. And they charge the same for their coffee as Dunn brothers charges me for my morning cup of the day - so that kinda irritated me. My husband LOVED their iced tea - when he asked he found out they brew their own ice tea and the host guy told us about the two flavors they serve.... When our meal came I was a little surprised that my Betta Cheddar Burger had no cheddar - no bacon and no BBQ sauce. It was plain. WTF? When we told our waitress she apologized and took it away - and told me I could eat my fries until the new one came out. (um...thanks.) I appreciate them getting me a new one - and they in fact made my whole meal over from scratch which was thoughtful - but it took a long time and when they finally brought it out I was not really hungry anymore (cuz of course I ate fries the whole time) which really took away from the experience. My husband liked his sandwich a lot - but they forgot his soup and he had to remind the server (who is not the waitress but the food bringer) that he had soup with his order. The waitress started to offer suggestions the minute she approached. "Can I start you off with one of our micro-brewed beers or perhaps a Bloody Mary this afternoon?" And she pretty much nailed every chance she could to suggestive sell us on more drink - appetizers or upgrades or desert. I HATE THAT. Add to all this that we had two "host" people stop by at least once each - it was just too much. I will probably come back here again - but it will have to be awhile. This place gives you the impression that they are concerned with your meal and your experience with them with the sheer force of their service oriented attacks - but a miss-made burger & cold coffee & forgotten soup belie their devotion to the customer. Less talk - more action!

Nothing spectacular...just your mediocre food. The prices were a little more than what I expected. I got a pasta that was comparable to your neighborhood Applebee's. So, I felt like I paid too much for it? The quality wasn't all that great. They do have quite a variety in their menu, but it makes you wonder what their specialty is. I will say they had a decent meatloaf, but it was loaded with a mountain of fried onions and mashed potatoes. Good grief...talk about overload. The restaurant itself was not busy at all. I would have thought during the weekend it would have been hoppin', but it was pretty dead in there. The interior space was nice with fieldstone columns, dark wood, and fireplace for a nice ambient feeling. The food was ok, nothing great, but an enjoyable experience.

Good place, with pretty good food. They make their own beer which I'm a fan of. I have really only been here for lunch which is good. The service has always been good. They do have a Saturday and Sunday brunch that is quite good as well.

I went back this past weekend with some out of town guests. Our food was not as good as I hoped and I had to apologize to my friends after (never a good thing) Beer was good as always, but the service was painfully slow. I hate having to wait over 10 minutes for the check when you are done eating. Let's just say that if all the plates on the table are cleared, the check better be there soon. Hopefully this was a fluke, as I have experienced great food and service here in the past.

I would define Granite City as a slightly upscale chain. The environment is much better than a TGIF, Ruby Tuesday, or something like that. They have a small, but very tasty selection of their own specialty beers. My personal favorite is the "Two-Pull", which is a combination of their lager and their bock. I've had several of their sandwiches. All are very good. My favorite entree is their walleye. Walleye always seems to taste better in MN, even though I'm sure they have it trucked in from somewhere far away. Summary -- if you're looking for a restaurant with a slightly above average atmosphere, good service, good craft beer, and consistently fair to above average food -- Granite City is a good choice.

Worst restaraunt I've been to in a while. The serviice was horrible, my steak was bloody rare when I ordered it medium. I sent it back 2 more times and it came back super well done. So I had them start over. It took them almost 20 min when I asked that they check on it . The steak was alot thinner, well done and full of grisstle. So after choking down half of the steak I asked for the check. They didn't even have the courtesy to comp the steak or even offer a free dessert. We will not be going back.

For a brewery, this place has the tiniest bar area ever. If you want to hit up happy hour, you probably won't find a spot. It's definately more of a business atmosphere type restaurant. The food was pleasant - I really did enjoy my flatbread pizza and my BF liked his burger and fries (the fries are pretty good). Their brews are pretty good too and our server was really great. It's just the vibe is so much like a business or sales meeting that it wrecked it for a fun night out. I would maybe go back for their brunch with family or with co-workers to sit on the patio, but I'm not in any hurry.

The food is ok - typical chain restaurant fare. I've been here a few times, but this latest incident is enough for me. As our waiter walked away from our table and into the kitchen, we distinctly saw him picking his nose. GROSS. My brother ordered a Coke to drink. After he finished his soda, the waiter comes by and asks him if he wants a refill. My brother said yes, and then the waiter proceeded to fill his soda glass with water and then scurry off. Um...thanks? We complained to the manager on duty. He offered an apology, but that was all.

they have Growlers... $25 to start then refills are $5 every tuesday or $9 any other day. not sure why the difference on each day but oh well. overpriced for what they offer me thinks. hamburgers are nothing special and float around $9 bucks. had the chicago style roast beef which with au jus, only difference was peppers on the meal. lots of upsells with different fries and sauce, don't fall for it.

Definitely a broad blend of food here. I'm not sure why they have a burrito on their menu, but let me tell you, it was tasty! I also had some salad that's HUGE there with a lot of bruschetta and a lot of tomatoes that was AWESOME. Service is OK too. Never really had a bad experience and most things I've eaten here have been pretty good. Highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich on ciabatta... AWESOME.

I loved the fettuccine alfredo there but then they changed their noodles and the sauce. killed it. they have a very good brunch though. you have to ask for the sticky buns. If you dont ask they dont come. they are very good and the buffet is also very good. Although they loose one star becasue of their inability to keep prices down and another one for not being able to figure what is ok to do and what is not ok to do. We went into GC one day and cops was on the TV. that was awful. At a brunch they held a raffle. bad. but still pretty good food.

The waiter did not know that what I ordered was on the menu and brought something else. I finally had to ask for a menu and show him. The manager came over and kept apologizing and did not have sense to ;eave. The manager and waiter hung around all thought the miserable meal apologizing. Beer is good, but everything else is mediocre. Will never return. The prices are high and the selection is very boring.

This a sort of an anomaly when it comes to food and brew. The food is great; the brew not so much. Four of us had dinner there last Thursday. Two women had asian salads and said they were very good. I had the prime beef dip sandwich and it was also very good. My friend had a burger which he said was excellent. The problem here is the beer. Regardless of what the previous reviewer said they do not brew any beer here. They don't even have a brew kettle as far as I know. They brew the beer elsewhere and truck in the wort to be fermented on site. However, all the beer is on the very light side. No Brown Ale, no Scotish Ale, no Alt beer. They do have a stout which is very watery and they promote something called a two-pull which is a combination of two beers. Just my luck to live close to a place that calls itself a brewery and doesn't have a decent beer. You might as well drink Miller!
