Pickwick Restaurant & Pub Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I grew up in Duluth, the pickwick and grandmas I always visit when home. It does not get better than the pepper cheese burger and some onion rings!

Restaurant was dead on a Saturday night and prices a little too high so we sat in the bar. It's a gorgeous bar and enjoyed my White Russian immensely!

Disappointed! That's the simplest way to put. Decided to try Pickwick based on recommendations of a number of friends. I asked our original waitress a question about the soup and she said she could get me a sample to taste. Awesome. Then Abracadabra! our waitress vanished and we got a new waitress, I told her our other waitress offered to get me sample of the soup could I still do that, and she said "Trust me it's really good." After a 10 second awkward pause, she offered to get me a sample if I "really needed one." When she came back my girlfriend and I were ready to order. My girlfriend ordered the Greek Chicken. and I asked the waitress if she preferred the Pepper Burger (recommended to me by a friend), Shrimp Po' Boy, or Baby Back Ribs. Here response was ,"everything on the menu is great." I chose the burger with onion rings. The Greek Chicken had a feta cream sauce that was too rich and the chicken and bed of rice were floating in the sauce. The spinach, artichoke hearts, and sun dried tomatoes were indistinguishable from the overpowering sauce. The pepper flavors of the burger were good, but the burger was tough and overcooked. The onion rings had a cornmeal type batter on them and that was all you could taste. Added bonus the 4 rings that came with the burger were cold! When our waitress came back about 20 minutes later to take our plates, she said to me, "I bet you wish you ordered the ribs instead." Thanks for pointing that out earlier to me! I guess my earlier question asking her what she preferred was too confusing. Oh well, I got the last laugh as her tip was less than half of what it should have been. Anyway, I left disappointed and felt the service was horrible. Pickwick's loss. I guess their neighbors whose name I won't mention (sounds like Fitger's) will get my business instead. I

Right next to Fitgers on the shore of Lake Superior. Fair amount of TVs, old world charm. Family owned and operated. Monster potions, good variety of items on Menu. Fast service and now open on Sundays.

Best food in Duluth, unless you're into grease and the smell of stale beer. If that's what you're after, then hit Fitger's. If it's a great steak or walleye in a one of a kind atmosphere that blows your skirt up, Pickwick is the place for you. Be sure to get seated on the bar side to get a better feel for old Duluth.

The new pickwick is nothing like the old, prime rib and steaks lack flavor. The wait staff is terrible. My waitress came back to my table to let me know the price of my scotch before they poured it how insulting. Two great changes are the bread , it's great and they changed the red lights to white light. I have been there three times since ownership change, all three have been disappointing.

Food is a solid 2, but the decor earns a full-on gold star. The bar is awesome, all dark wood and stained glass. I almost wished the waitresses were dressed as bar wenches to add some authenticity. The popovers, by the way, are absolutely dreadful. Rancid, soggy from old oil, stale. Bleah.

Being from Duluth, we've gone here many times over the years. They've been up and down on the consistency of their food. The steak is great though. I love that the soda comes in glass bottles, although not so cost effective when you have more then one. Their french onion soup is great, and I dont even like onions! Its a historic building, and a restaurant that has been around forever.

On my most recent trip to Duluth we came to the Pickwick for lunch. This is one of my go-to places - has been for years. I try to come here at least once each visit. My mom, my grandma, my aunt and I came and sat in the bar. The dining room has the view, but the bar has always been our favorite place to sit with the dark wood and stained glass. Mom and my aunt ordered the lamb burger and onion rings. There were both impressed. According to my mom the burger was incredible and the onion rings were as good as they have always been. Grandma had a "Superior Street Dip" (french dip) sandwich and a salad. It was a good size and tasted pretty darn good. I normally order a pepper cheeseburger and onion rings, but I was not in the mood for a burger. So I ordered a Parmesan portabella appetizer which was out of this world! It came with 2 portabella caps topped with fresh sliced tomatoes, a balsamic reduction and fresh Parmesan cheese. It was served with crusty garlic toast. I would definitely order that one again. The lamb burger and the mushroom appetizer must be fairly new additions to the menu as they are not even listed online yet. I highly recommend them! The only bad things I can say about the Pickwick is that I miss the old oak tables in the bar and think the tv's in the booths are unnecessary. Other than that, the renovation looks awesome. I love how they opened up the bar by taking down the wall partition.

Very unique dining room with an old world feel, however a bit on the noisy/echo-y side. Alot of history in this landmark Duluth restaurant. Service was just slighly above average, our server was very friendly. Sara Dippity appetizer was on the oily side, T-bone steak was delicious, wild rice was a bit over done with butter, cheese cake was a hit.

We came here because it is supposed to have a good view of the Lake - but the view wasn't that great - the windows were small. Maybe i was expecting too much, but i thought there'd be big bay windows or picture windows or something. Food was pretty good - wide variety of food. We had sandwiches. On a summer weekday, most of the people were locals.

Get over yourself Pickwick! You have a great view, this is true but your food is mediocure at best, the wait times are ridiculous, the seating is cramped, and your prices are outrageous. Chose to spend your night out somewhere else!

Seeing the 2007 James Beard Foundation award prominently displayed upon entering the Pickwick, I had high expectations. Sadly, the Pickwick failed to deliver a satisfactory experience, never mind an exceptional one. First off, lets start with the service. A reservation not withstanding, we waited nearly fifteen minutes for a table, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. When seated our waiter neither brought us a wine list, nor understood what it means to order a drink "neat." Later, when my incorrectly prepared entrée arrived, the waiter attempted to correct me, in a condescending tone, rather than apologize for the obvious mistake. As for the food, we ordered the Stuffed Alaskan Halibut and the Center Cut New York Strip. The halibut, and stuffing, were delicious, save for the edges which were charred for some reason. On the other hand, the strip steak (something decidedly more simple to prepare) was a fiasco. A medium-rare steak will have a gray-brown outside, with a fully red, warm, and buttery center. When cut into, the plate will fill with rich and slightly bloody juice. In contrast, the first steak that arrived was clearly cooked beyond medium, being mostly gray-brown. Worse, the center was a glassy purple and cold to the touch. When cut into, the plate remained bone dry. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he returned the steak to the kitchen, only to return himself in order to "inform" me that the staff had told him the steak was cooked correctly, but that they would make another steak, this time cooked "rare" rather than "medium-rare" since that was more to my liking. The second steak arrived, this time cooked to medium-rare but still with the glassy and cold purple center. Two things are clear: The kitchen staff at the Pickwick does not know how to cook a steak and worse the Pickwick grills frozen steaks, as this is the only way to explain cold purple center. A good prime steak can be sublime, but it is hardly a difficult thing to prepare. I've noticed most of the reviews here are for lunch, so maybe the Pickwick makes a good hamburger, but for the prices on their dinner menu you can find much better places to spend $150 on dinner. I will not be returning.

Nice, family-style restaurant on the shore of Lake Superior in Duluth. They have a full menu and serve lunch and dinner. The day I ate here, Swedish Meatballs were the special. The dish came with 5 or 6 meatballs and a side of mashed potatoes with gravy (egg noodles were the other option). Very tasty and the meatballs had great flavor. Onion rings were the starter. Draught root beer was the drink. The dining room at Pickwick's overlooks Lake Superior, which is a great view. This is a good place to bring guests as the food is fresh, consistent and tasty.

This review is on the Pepper Cheeseburger. It is hands down one of the best burgers in the country! Spicy (and more than Minnesota spicy), fried, and then topped with pepper jack cheese. Oh DANG! It's so good! I suggest pairing your meal with a frosty root beer. This place doesn't change, been the same my whole life. Really good view of the lake.

The Pickwick is one of those Duluth institutions that you just can't not like no matter how they try to dissuade you. It's old school, and you are well served by knowing what's good and what isn't. The steaks are generally very good (my personal favorite is the sirloin tips) and the bartenders are swell folk. Most days, you will have a satisfying experience.

The Pickwisk is gone. The new owner is rude and arrogant (not family) This has become just another very pricey bad restauarant in an area filled with them. Go to McDonalds!! The menu is filed with the same crap sold elsewhere and is a far cry from the old Pickwick menu. I emailed the owner and his response was less than satisfactory. I would pack a lunch before going to the North Shore because all the decent restaurants are now gone and the new ones in the old buildings are very expesive.

Honestly the only reason this place got 2 stars out of me is because they had the most kick ass table side musical entertainment. It was a group of 3 older gents that played the accordian, chello, and sang german and polish songs. It was Oktoberfest so it fit the scene perfectly. We were having a great time with the entertainment and sipping on some tasty vodka sodas while looking out at lake Superior. It went wrong when the food came. The only had 1 maybe 2 veggie meals. So i ordered the portebello sandwich. Its going to sound like I am making this up but I'm not it was an open faced sandwich ...dark rye topped with mushrooms, swiss cheese, onion, and then topped with alfredo sauce!!! Yes it tasted as bad as it sounds.I took about a bite and couldnt stomach anymore down.Still to this day it make me queezy to think about. I wouldnt have been as upset if the lady offered me something else to eat or take it off the bill but no such luck.Actually when she came to get our plates she asked me if I liked it I said no it was really weird and bad and she replied " yea no one ever likes it I dont know why its on the menu" Lovely thanks for letting me order it and then pay for it, Sweet!

Nearly 100 years old, but yet a "newborn", the Pickwick ("the Wick" to locals) has always been a Minnesota favorite, and has been operated by the same family until this week. The new owners have modernized some of the infrastructure, and will be "updating" (horrors!) the menu. First pic of the new bar area (below) shows that they have increased seating, extended the bar itself, and added more seating at the bar (formerly, it just had 8 highly coveted stools). Looks like the have lightened up the room a bit, and possibly removed the plethora of dead animals and fish that previously hung on the walls and replaced them with flat screens (horrors, again!) (Can't we go anywhere, anymore, w/o having to watch television?). Minnesota Burger Reporter Kawikamedia and the Minnesota Burger Posse were there for Pickwick Pepper Cheeseburger the opening last night, and reported nothing had changed, apparently, in his usual (and favorite) Pepper Cheeseburger and onion rings. But he added an aside, that the "true test" of the burger is how it tastes after a night in the frig (like I believe the test of a pizza is how it tastes after a night on the kitchen counter!). Still waiting for that verdict. The Wick has retained their charcoal broiler for steaks and fish. One can only imagine they kept the various local fish entrees, featuring Walleye. Or one can hope. Word is they will be opening the 2nd floor, previously unused space, as a wine bar. The group started with the Pepper Poppers, before launching into the burgers. Poppers were reported as "a nice addition to the menu."

Atmosphere was great food not so much. $14 burger was not that good and the famous onion rings were not that impressive either.

Beautiful views of Lake Superior. Too bad the food and service did not meet the same standards. The food was marginal and the service was terrible.

Great service! Very attentive staff with knowledge of the menu. The food was good, but not great.my walleye was a bit too dry and over seasoned.

My wife and I stopped into Pickwick as we were driving through Duluth because we were looking for a place with patio seating. The hostesses and busboys were great but our waiter was mostly non existent and rude when he was around. I had the pepper burger because it sounded interesting but they cooked it to death and it turned out to be really bland. My wifes Reuben was average but we both really liked the fries. Really cool looking building but that is about it.

We stopped in for a lunch on the patio last weekend while passing through Duluth. Nice view of the lake. Good service, great food, and good fresh beers. I can't comment on dining inside. I would go back.

Stopped in for mid- week lunch. Service was terrific. Great bread. View right on the lake. Lake trout to die for. Mashed spuds fluffy and tasty. Green beans done just right. Couldn't be better. And a great old atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Not good at all, my sandwich was probably the worst sandwich I have ever had in a resturant ever! The staff seemed so stuck in 1992 and the TVs in the booth really take away from me wanting to spend much over $12 a meal. Why would anyone want t have "fine dining" while watching Tv.

Enjoyed out meal the other night. Been dining here for 40 years. Had the sauted walleye. Very good. Garlic mashed potatoes nothing special. Bread good. Onion rings very very good. Someone had prime rub and I had a bite. Excellent. Glad that we went.

Let me start off by saying I've never felt compelled to ever review a restaurant, good or bad, until now. I went to Pickwick after a day of hiking 15+ miles through the Duluth area's hilly terrain. Needless to say, I was hungry - almost any food would do. I decided on Pickwick and ordered the rack of ribs - what a disaster. They were served luke-warm - the congealed BBQ sauce gave that away before even touching them. Since I was hungry and didn't want to wait for a new order to be made I decided, "what the heck, I'm hungry" and dug in without complaining. After the first room-temperature bite I knew I made a huge mistake. Have you ever bought frozen pre-cooked ribs from the grocery store? These are the EXACT SAME. The cut of meat is mediocre at best. I found myself gagging to swallow each sinewed bite. Not only was the cut bad, the chef literally dumped an entire bottle of BBQ sauce on top of the ribs (probably an attempt to trick me into not focusing on the terrible meat quality). I typically over-sauce things to the point of disgusting the people around me but this was so egregious that I had to scrape all of it off to even attempt eating them. I wish I had a photo of the pool of BBQ sauce covering half my plate. The best thing about my meal was the baked potato. I won't be back, and next time my friends ask for a dinner recommendation in the Duluth area, I'll tell them to stay away from Pickwick.

Pickwick used to be something great. There was a nice, semi formal atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Since they've reopened I have been there a handful of times and have left a little disappointed with the new changes. The menu is unrealistically expensive for the quality of food that you receive. Upon my last visit I got a Caesar salad with chicken for $14 and it was the size of a side salad on a large plate. If I ever do that again I'm just going to go to the gas station and get a prepackaged salad for $5. What a rip.

I'm departing from my usual criteria--normally I'm all about the food and ho-hum about the atmosphere. Maybe because I've been coming here since the 1970s I'm really glad the Pickwick is open again. I love the dark wood, the worn quarter-sawn oak tables, the artwork, and the lake views. New owners have given the place a nice update without compromising the feel of the old place. Five stars for that! The food varied from really good to forgettable. I started my meal with a cup of New England clam chowder. Wow! Tons of clams, big chunks of potato, and very flavorful. Our waitress brought out a basket of fabulous bread--crispy, tender crust on the outside, soft and flavorful inside. Positively addictive. My husband ordered a salmon cake sandwich that came with sprouts and a LOT of avocado. I tasted it, it was excellent. I ordered a smallish sirloin that was just lacking something. Maybe flavor. I just wanted more char, more juice, something. We both had fries on the side. They were good but I've had better. Three stars for the food. Service was fine, not outstanding. I see room for improvement but am willing to try one of the many sandwiches back on the menu.

On Sunday while in Duluth Minnesota we decided to eat at one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Pickwicks which is known for the steaks I ordered the ribeye which was highly recommended by our server, my girlfriend ordered the cob salad. The cob salad was very good The ribeye steak came out well done when I ordered it medium rare but they quickly fix the problem. Overall the food was good the atmosphere was really awesome. I would definitely eat there again.

When I first looked the reviews were mostly about the pub part. Tonight we ate on the dinner side food was great. Service was great. Food and service timed perfectly. Small but beautiful view of Lake Superior. Felt treated like real person. Cocktails also good.

We stopped here to eat on July 3rd. It was really disappointing that at 2:30 in the afternoon they were already out of their lunch special (which they serve weekly and until 4 p.m.). I would have thought on a holiday weekend they would have planned for more business. Also, we sat outside, which is just a blocked off part of the parking lot, so there is absolutely no ambiance. There was a delivery truck idling in the parking lot just below this place, so we were breathing diesel fumes for about 10 minutes, and then just as our food arrived, a GARBAGE truck arrived at the same restaurant just behind/below them. Kind of nauseating. The food was average. I really don't think I will return to this place when I am ever in Duluth again....

As an out of towner this place looked like the classic Duluth micro brewery experience with adjacent shopping in the same waterfront building. The Big Boat Stout is excellent. The burgers were good but a little to well done. Onion rings some of the finest and well worth the upgrade. Chocolate cake dessert a massive display of chocolate and perfect to share. Despite being a little dry it disappeared quickly. Overall I recommend this local flavor experience.

My parents dined at the Pickwick for years and years and loved it. My take: it's hugely overrated. This place would never stay in business in the Twin Cities. Although the dark wood on interior walls is gorgeous, the lighting is too dim to really see it. I could only make out the silhouettes of my dinner companions across the table tonight. In the darkness, I was able to discover only 3 berrries in my berry salad and only 2 very small pieces of chicken. At nearly $20 for the salad with chicken added, this seems remarkably chintzy! Instead of feeling cheerful after what I'd hoped would be a pleasant dining experience, I left with a distinct sense of annoyance over the bad lighting and rip-off prices. My advice is to spend your money elsewhere, folks.

This place is so underrated. I almost didn't even try it for the so so reviews but decided that a 100 year old eatery deserves a visit at least once, even if mediocre food and service are to be expected. Well, wasn't I surprised when the service was prompt and friendly and the food was fantastic! Tenderloin pasta, chowder, pesto sandwich and fried walleye were all delicious. Not decent- delicious. And the place is just gorgeous. Yes, as other reviews have stated, the interior is dark. Walls and ceilings adorned with ornately carved rich dark woods will do that to a place. It was the style of the period, the Victorian influence of the late 1800's. There is hand painted wall art over 100 years old in the Dutch room and photos and menus of the place from the beginning hanging in the hallway. It's kind of like being in a museum. Very cool. Don't pass this one up! Haters gonna hate! It's been around a 100 years, they have to be doing something right. And yes, I'm aware that ownership changed 5 years ago. I don't know what it was like before but based on the menus hanging in the hallway dating back through the decades, the menu has always changed and new things have been brought in and dropped off throughout the history of the place. The interior is still true to the original space. You can see that just from the photos. So give it a try!

Never hand a bad meal from here. I recommend the onion rings as they are huge! I've tried the fish, burgers, Italian sandwich and French dip were all super good and I can't wait to dine here the next time I'm in town. Their food is very good! The restaurant has changed in recent years which I am glad they have. It's a great place that is very clean and true to their roots.

Early dinner/late lunch today, and I was pleasantly impressed. First, the atmosphere is just great. The dining room behind the "pub" is beautiful, with all of the oak woodwork. Love the call buttons on the walls; too bad they don't work. Service: our server was by herself!!! She had a helper/bus girl, but she was so overwhelmed with 5-6 tables of diners. Everything was fine, but we had quite a wait for the check so we could leave. Food: I had the salmon and sauteed zucchini/yellow squash side with onion rings. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the saute was just right, and the onion rings were yummy! Hubby had the tenderloin pasta and he cleaned his plate and scraped up the sauce with the last of the bread!! Today's special dessert was peach cobbler. I'm from the South, I KNOW peach cobbler. This was not a real peach cobbler, it was a lot of pastry with very few peaches, and I swear that the peaches were reconstituted dried peaches; they did not taste like the fresh peaches that were advertised. Only major complaint: WHY IN THE HELL do restaurants insist upon serving hard crunchy bread? Those of us with "store-bought" teeth have troubles with the ciabatta bread. Soft yeast rolls would be much preferred. The helper was good about keeping beverages full and dishes removed. AND THE VIEW IS TERRIFIC!!!

My grandparents and mother dined here in the 50s and 60s, my parents had their wedding reception here in 1973, and dined at the Pickwick as a child and an adult. All was great and I planned to someday bring my kids here...then things changed. The Pickwick changed hands, orchids began adorning the plates, the entrance to the pub was shut off, salad dressings stopped coming to the table in tripod carriers that enticed both eyes and palates, and a legacy ended. I don't need fancy, trendy menu offerings. The Pickwick is a steakhouse. Ok, have a vegetarian offering here and there (I've changed, too). But, stick to a few traditional favorites and do them well.

After walking the lakefront, we stopped here for appetizers and drinks. As I checked in on Yelp, I saw some of the 2-star reviews and was a little hesitant. Fortunately, we had a good experience with the service and food quality. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and everything was excellent, especially the walleye fingers and sauerkraut/ sausage plate with cheese. There are tables with beautiful views of the lake, but they were filled with other patrons.

BEAUTIFUL view Lake Superior. Very cool looking interior, I think they even had an old style cask in the bar! The food didn't taste fresh, and the service was terrible. Food was way overpriced. The inside felt dirty. As cool of a view as they have of the Lake, I wouldn't go back even if it was just for drinks.

Out of the 8 people at our table 2 got their order correct. The food was not well displayed or prepared. The menu was also inaccurate which made a couple of our plates wrong just because we thought we were getting something entirely different. My pasta dish ($22) was supposed to be fresh veggies including zucchini and other seasonal veggies with grilled chicken. I counted 6 small cubes of chicken and I got canned peas and a couple pieces of onion tossed in with some spaghetti noodles. For the price we paid - not impressed. Atmosphere was nice - but a little chilly. Waitress was a very sweet girl who we felt very badly for as she had to apologize to nearly every table about their food.

Went here on a Saturday night for dinner. Party of 5. I got a Bison burger, and my Fiance got a one of the salads. The group of us ordered a few appetizers, and a couple rounds of beers. The restaurant as a very nice atmosphere in it, it feels like a genuine old town pub. As we were seated, the waitress told us it would be longer than usual. The restaurant did not seem too busy, not anything worse than a Chili's on any given Saturday night. She took our orders for drinks, and the appetizers. She came back again ~20 minutes later to take the food orders. I got my burger medium rare. The apps arrived ~20-30 minutes after the food order. She did stop by from time to time to check on drinks and such. Food arrived another ~30 minutes after the apps came. My burger was good, but a bit drier than other bison burgers I have had. I was not overly impressed with it, but it was pretty good. We were there for a birthday party, so they gave us a free ice cream sundae for the table. a nice way to top it off! Service - 4/5 Food Quality- 3/5 Serving Size - 4/5 Speediness - 2.5/5 Atmosphere - 5/5 Overall: 4/5

Well I think I just had my last meal at this continually declining restaurant. My wife and I stopped in for an impromptu date night. The place was very empty even for a Sunday night at 7pm. The food was extremely mediocre. My Napoleon burger would have been at home at just about any roadside diner since it was dried out and dressed with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Unfortunately this was a $14 burger. For reference sake I paid $14 for an amazing burger at Chicago's Weber grill on Friday night. This burger at pickwick was $14 but extremely mediocre. I kind of felt robbed. My wife's club sandwich was just a shadow of it's formerly delicious incarnations. Instead of being a dependably delicious selection on the menu it is now something to be avoided especially at its present $12. The once amazing onion rings or now just ok. And on top of it all the prices are ridiculous for Duluth especially for food this regrettable. On a different note, the server, Seth, was really good and attentive. He was the one bright spot in our very last pickwick dinner that soured our experience and our stomachs. Seriously I was bloated the rest night. Also the beer was flat. The surly chain breaker was so flat I couldn't drink it. They were kind enough to replace it with Bells two hearted ale but it too was flat, but at least it was drinkable.

We are in northern MN every summer and have been for 50 years. We always dine at the Pickwick, the finest restaurant in the Duluth area in our estimation. The Walleye and prime rib are our favorites.

Our service was less than polite. However our food was delicious. I had the Diablo penne and it was to die for! We went at lunch time and prices were still moderate to expensive. Not many items around $10. I will definitely be back, despite the rude waitress.

We've been several times and haven't had much to complain about. We've always been in the bar/original dining area and love the woodwork and the bar. The booths all have their own tv, which can be nice if you want to catch a game. Otherwise, we ignore it. It's basic fare, with items such as spaghetti, prime rib, steaks, burgers, salads. All have been fine. Prices can be a bit high for what it is, but i figure it's to offset the cute decor. Waitstaff has been good to us, as well. I'd recommend going to at least check out the bar and the architecture.

I would not go back to this place. Disappointed is the best word to describe our short stay at this "fine dining" place. The food was either over or under cooked. The waitstaff was inattentive. The drinks BURNED, badly. The guys seated around us continued to make rude comments and gestures (loudly) about how I was dressed (cocktail dress with a v in front (OH! SHOCKING!) and the management did not correct their behavior or ask them to quiet down even after being informed of the situation with my dinner date for the evening. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

On my latest trip to Duluth, I had to hit up my old haunt the Pickwick. My father took me here after the Minnesota 3-Gun Match for years when I was a kid. So naturally, I wanted to give it a go and see if it lived up to my memories and I was glad to find that despite the years, the place has remained relatively untouched. To begin, the atmosphere has not changed at all. The best way of describing it is that the Pickwick is the kind of place your grandparents would not feel out of place going, but not in a bad way. The main dining hall is all original to the 100 year old construction with dark wood paneling and oil painting. However, my lady and I decided to sit on the patio since we wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather. I got their special bacon burger and she got the fish sandwich. Both meals were nothing crazy but ably done. We also ordered some beers and their tap list was nothing to be ashamed of. To bring it all home, next time you are in Duluth give one of her oldest gems a shot.

First time, visiting Duluth with out of state relatives, Pickwick recommended by a carriage driver. 4 adults and 2 kids. Sat by window looking out on lake, fireplace, wooden walls. Excellent food - prime rib was slightly smoke flavored and crisp on outside, very tender. Service was fast and accurate. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Would recommend to others.

This place was great for a nice birthday dinner. We sat at their bar and the bartender was great. His drinks were top notch! He really knew how to make drinks not just pour beers. Then came the food. We both got barrel cut filet steaks that were AMAZING!! Hands down best steak I've ever eaten. Thank you pickwick for an awesome birthday experience, we will be back!!

This was our first time trying this restaurant, and, wow! We were impressed. Finding a place to park was good: they had extra space for handicapped parking. Getting in with a wheelchair went fine. My big chair was able to get through the first set of doors, but I had to pivot through the second set. But, a 32" wheelchair would be able to get through just fine. The staff was very accommodating, moving chairs and seating us where I wouldn't be in the way. Where we sat, the view of Lake Superior was amazing. We saw a rainbow over Lake Superior and a ship coming in. The decor was nice, a lot of glass, so we were nervous that Christopher and Jonathan would break something. If your kids are careful with glass and a candle in the middle of the table, then you should be fine. But, if nervous, I would ask if they would accommodate for kids. The dining area was tight for others around us, and it was loud from people talking. I can see this could be a problem if you had a table right next to you that was very loud or rude. The waitress even came over to our table and told us that we were being to quiet. That was a first for us. As for the food overall: it was really good. The portion sizes were perfect, and, as part of the meal, they bring you bread. KayMarie had the Bison burger with fries. This was her first time having bison and she liked it, but she said the fries were little too done. Christopher had grilled cheese and a bowl of fruit, he liked the fruit the most because it had four kinds of berries, and not just melon and grapes. Jonathan had mini corn dogs and fruit as well. He said the mini corn dogs were overdone, which they were. He liked the fruit as well, better than other places that just offer melon and grapes. As a tip on the kids' menu, drinks are included except for the 1919 Root Beer: that is extra. Also, the kids' menu was not fully explained. We had to ask a couple of times to see what came with the kids' dishes. Jodi had the 10oz Prime Rib with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. Jodi says this was the best prime rib she has ever had, and the garlic mashed potatoes were also very good. She had hers cooked medium well, and it was tender, juicy, and melted in your mouth. As a tip, the little container that comes with the prime rib: it's horseradish. Jodi tried it, and made the sour face, then asked the waitress what it was. I had the 20oz Prime Rib with wild rice and broccoli. I agree with Jodi that this was the best prime rib I had. It was juicy, tender, and just melted in your mouth. I had mine medium rare, and it was exactly how I liked it cooked. The prime rib is offered on Fridays and Saturdays, so stop in on these nights for the best prime rib. Overall, we give Pickwick an A- and a must STOP IN. Maybe we'll see you there on a Saturday night

This is easily my favorite restaurant in Duluth. The atmosphere is great (especially on Thursday nights), the food is great, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend.

Not really my type of food. I've never had anything here that I've really enjoyed. The atmosphere - its not very well lit and kind of dark. Just not a very fun dining experience.
