I expected bar food and that is what I got. Hmmmm bar food.... First of all, I love the rustic/vintage Americanan decor. Old wood, tin signs, it screams vintage and in a very good way. The decor was done very well, and they were super clean and organized, even their bathrooms strongly wafted of sweet scents of cinnamon and flowers. Their menu had a decent amount to choose from. My wife and I tried the Cajun shrimp dip which was amazing. I tried their variation of a Juicy Lucy and found it to my liking. My wife really enjoyed her entree too. Their handmade lemonades are extremely good too, and FREE refills with a food purchase. NICE. Also they serve tater tots as a side. They fry them up crispy and soft and they are sooo good with their seasoned sour cream. The best part is they give you a bunch, the wife and I took home easily half of what we got and ate them the next night as another full portion. The staff were stellar here also. Super friendly and courteous and always checking back with you to make sure things were right and to your liking. A very nice place to come and get some tasty comfort food.

We came for happy hour on a sunday. They have great happy hour specials including beer and bar foods. The hosts at the front counter could use a lesson in customer service. They were very young and didn't greet us or smile when we came in. The waitress we had was really nice though. We ordered a couple beers and the chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and nachos. The chicken and mac and cheese were yummy and just what you would expect at a bar. I wouldn't recommend the nachos though. The chicken was dry and crumbly and the only cheese on it was shredded cheese so they were really dry. We would order the queso instead next time. All the other ingredients on the nachos were good and fresh though.

The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is great and the food is delicious. In short this is a great place to grab a drink (specifically the new summer drinks) or have a delicious comforting meal. My favorite app here is the freshly made chips & pico de gallo. Keep on rocking guys! Your doing great welcome to Burnsville!

The reviews aren't wrong. Beer cheese was delicious. Waitress was very patient with 1st time customer. Even got an offer from the chef to make a special order. We live in FL but will make this one of our "must stop" places when we are in town.

Clive's seem to be a staple in the US, the generic stake and bar restaurant. I was pleased with beer selection and the food was good but there was nothing really about it that made me go wow.

My wife and I first visit and Clive' s delivers. My wife loved the chicken fried chicken and couldn't stop eating the REAL mashed potatoes. I loved the Hot Beef Open face sandwich with the same awesome mashed potatoes and gravy. It wasn't very busy and this needs to change folks. Let's make sure Clive' s thrives. Great service, great food and a men's room that was CLEAN! I'd assume the women's was too cause my wife didn't complain. Welcome to Burnsville Clive' s Roadhouse! Well be back!

Way better the second time around. Attentive staff. We are happy we have it a second chance and that management kindly addressed our initial complaints. It's nice to have a newer non-chain restaurant around.

Food was pretty good. They try to make as much food from starch. Wife had a bloody an said it was good. Service was great. I had the jambalaya an it was really good. Wife had the pretzel pub club an said it was great. Would definitely go back again. Would have given 5 star if they had fresh cut fries and hand made onion rings!

LOVE the new Clive's in Burnsville, starting to become a regulars. Always start with the Buffalo Chicken Dip. The bourbon shrimp tacos and giant burrito are off the hook! Great, casual atmosphere for family and friends to meet up. Huge bar and lots of HDTV's.

Love Love Love Clives! I've had almost everything on the menu. The specials are always delicious. I particularly love the queso dip, chips and salsa, cheese curds, steak bites, mini donuts and their Long Island Teas! Rachel is the BEST!!!!

Super fast service, friendly staff. We got the queso app and that was pretty good. I got the Mac and cheese which was really good. Creamy and flavorful. Hubby got the roadhouse Lucy and he said it was good but not what he was expecting. Wasn't dried out or anything. Cooked how it was ordered. He said Matt's still wins for Lucy's. Overall we'd come back!

The service was awesome and the food, let's talk about how amazing it was. I had the burrito and It was to die for I don't think I have ever had one so good, my roommates had a rack of ribs that were fall off the bone and delicious and the tenderloin tips that were so tender and so well done highly recommended, my friends had a burrito also and the Cajun walleye sandwich that was excellent. The desert was not that great as far as the strawberry cheese cake I had went you could tell it was out of a box in the freezer but the mini donuts were delicious! The prices were great and they have an ok beer selection. Great place can't wait to go back!

The atmosphere felt like a good place for 50+ year old construction workers, not a family restaurant. The menu was too big, I ordered a cheese burger because the menu said it was freshly made, but it was a frozen patty that was under cooked. The waffle fries were way over seasoned would have been better with out. Won't be returning to this place! On to the next one.

This is my second visit to Clive's Roadhouse and I am as impressed on this visit as the last. The service is fast and friendly. The food is well prepared and presented. This is one of the few places that I've been that you can swap the standard French fries for fresh raw vegetables. My wife and I plan on making this a regular in the rotation.

Will not be back. I ordered a house margarita on the rocks, which was almost $8 and the glass in came in was so packed with ice I couldn't fit my lime wedge in the glass. Definitely not worth the money! I ordered the burrito for my entrée and it was horrible. The rice had herbs and celery and carrots!? I think the rice was prepared to go with a fish. So naturally it tasted nasty in a chicken burrito. Under the burrito they put a "bed of nachos". Which was tortilla chips with microwaved cheese on top, raw tomatoes, burrito, cheese sauce over the burrito, then blasted in the microwave again. Even the plate was hotter than hell! All of our entrées came out in 10-15 minutes. I think anything that wasn't microwaved was deep fried. They have 87 items on the menu, obviously too much for the kitchen to handle. Everything tasted like it was prepared a few days ago and reheated. They have a lot of nerve charging people for microwaved garbage and frozen crap. Too bad, I was looking forward to having good new local spot to frequent. The search continues...

We hit happy hour for supper for two geezers and the ticket for two beers and two appetizer items was about $28. The wings were good, the flatbread was good. Portions for two were just right. Service was good. And the servers weren't wearing hooker attire!!! I'd go back.

I'd say the experience was good though not great. Make note though that its the middle of March Madness, so the bar was crowded for a Sunday afternoon. There was a group of people standing at the corner of the bar that made it difficult to get past, but they were polite and were not a bother. The interior was typical sports bar, full of big screen tvs, all turned to basketball games. The food was decent. I ordered the bourbon shrimp and steak with fried red potatoes and added a dinner salad. My husband ordered the taco salad. The hubby reports that his salad was really good. I tasted his salsa and liked it so well, I asked for some for my fried potatoes. They brought some right out. As for the potatoes, they were a bit spicy, like the cook put some cayenne on them. Not too spicy for me, but more than "Minnesota spicy". So be warned. The shrimp and steak was pretty good, and there was a pile of a veggie mix of green beans, squash, peppers and onions on the side. I could only eat half of it all and took the rest home. There is plenty there for another whole meal. The food came out quick and it was hot. the staff were friendly and helpful to everyone, not just their own tables. We will definitely go back again.
