I've been to Poor Richard's many times. Mostly thursdays. I always have fun there. But recently the place smells like a barnyard!! I was there last night and 3 very attractive girls walked in, said "this place smells like horses" turned around and walked out. Not good. Going to steer clear of Poor Richards until they sanitize and bleach the place.

I don't normally write reviews but I want to start since I think they are helpful! I came to Poor Richard's on a Sat evening around 8 on a Sat evening. I went alone since I'm in the area for training and noticed it was nearby. I sat at the bar and instantly one of the bartenders greeted me and got me a beer. He was very sociable and friendly but not over the top. I also ordered dinner. I got the Waldorf Salad, it was good, but maybe not something I would crave. They took good care in making sure the food was how I ordered it and that I had a beverage when I needed one. I thought the service was outstanding. I will definitely return while I'm in the area!

My husband and I love this place. The service is great, and the food is good, as well. Our favorite time it the Friday night date night. You get an appetizer to share, 2 entrees and a bottle of wine for $30 What a deal! We must comment on the gal that takes care of customer service. (Not sure exatly what her title is...or what her name is) She is so friendly..stops by and chats everytime were are in. Last time she had the manager come and thank us for being frequent diners there, and taking advantage of the date night.

Posted a pic of a pretty pathetic sandwich. I think that says it all.

Used to really like this place when it was Majors. Now it looks like they sold the house in Beverly HIlls to the Hillbillies. Went for dinner one night and ended up walking out before being seated. Very loud person announcing over the intercom made it impossible to have a conversation. Decided to try it again another day and they did not have a drink menu, waitress had written down the selection on a receipt for us. Food tasted OK but looked like they just threw it on a plate. Will not be going back or suggesting to anyone.

Good easy spot for beers and some apps. We havent eaten dinners here so our review is for the apps. Everything we had was decent. The service was great in the bar area. Personable and smiles. Went a long way. Nothing was wrong with the food but nothing stood out as something I would come back for. Just another casual dining bar food. We will be back and try some other items.

I went there on a groupon. I thought the decor was weird and the heavy metal music blasting on a sunny afternoon was not welcoming. We were seated at our table which was filthy! The waiter cleaned it but also noticed the seats in the booth damaged! Walleye fingers were good but I was not impressed with the rest of dinner. The house salad was yucky bagged cheap iceberg lettuce no tomatoes and some stale croutons. The lime honey salmon I had just tasted like frozen salmon drenched in bbq sauce! I only took a few bites. This was my 1st time coming here and won't be back!

Sigh. A sports bar with a weird colonial twist on the menu that is half heartedly executed. The obligatory bingo and pull tabs booth with a very bored looking attendant. A wait stuff that doesn't fully understand the menu. There are far better places to dine if you managed to graduate from high school.

Delicious beer...and food is pretty good too. Good atmosphere fit hanging out and has darts and arcade games. I particularly like the nachos, fish tacos and burgers.

Taco Tuesday sounded so good until I had it. My coworker ordered the chicken taco. Another coworker tried hers and he said he liked his beef taco better. I had the fish taco and it wasn't what I expected. I had a fish with multiple bones on my first bite whereas the other 2 tacos on my plate did not have this problem. It was not pleasant and I wouldn't order the tacos again. Other people ordered food there and none of my coworkers had that "yummm" face. I think everyone had the "it's good" type of attitude. Nothing was great. I'll have to try something else on the menu if I do come back.

I will miss Major's being just across the highway but, welcome Poor Richard's. I was eagerly awaiting it's opening then forgot about it until I was invited to an event where everything was free so I went. Free Beer(I had the Stella)/Crab Dip/Wings. Anyhow this evening I stopped in for the happy hour (4-6pm see website for other great promotions), and had a $4 32 oz Mug of Stella along with the Philly Cheese Steak. I believe the apps were half off at the time but, I was more into a sandwich. The sandwich came with the same kettle cooked chips (I had a choice but, I am a chip man) as Majors good sandwich, excellent service, and rather packed for a Tuesday. Great Sandwich, no complaints. The place has been revamped a little bit, same room off the to the side as you enter but, from past that point it's been re-vamped. Great service, very good marketing always pushing some great deals on both their e-mail list and facebook fan page. Most recently on the 22nd of each month you can get a beer, shot, wine, etc for a buck (well they want a one dollar bill in honor of George's birthday) so I was going to go yesterday but, had a bit too much on my plate that evening. The Bar is much longer with tables all around and close to the bar area with 3 separate meeting rooms (on the evening I went to the freebie night all 3 rooms were booked so our event was in the rear they had a little alcove they set our buffet up in and gave a brief presentation with some tables circled around the speaker. Did I mention Tons of TV's, free beer an hour before Vikings games, since I have not been to one I am not sure if their is some type of limit on this deal. Majors used to be a pretty well trafficked place I would hit out of town co-workers, client's (i.e. expense). I suspect it will be a great replacement, I can't wait to sample some of the other menu items.

We dined in with a Groupon and weren't expecting much based on previous reviews. My brother ordered the mac 'n cheese and the sauce was good but a bit too heavy. The penne was al dente. The fish tacos were average as they have too much breading and you cannot taste the walleye. Very bland. The French Dip was average with good fries. Not too bad but the prices are high without a Groupon. Service was friendly but she didn't write our order down and made a mistake. A shout out to Kennedy at the hostess stand. She shook my Down Syndrome brothers hand on the way in and remembered his name on the way out. Restaurant staff rarely pay attention to him so that made his day and will probably bring us back again. Management should recognize her exceptional people skills. I would have given it a 2 star rating but bumped it to 3 because of Kennedy.

Went for HH on a Wednesday. It was pretty busy at about 5pm of course. $3 off all non steak/seafood apps. Service was a little slow, but not unbearable, and server was friendly and came back to check on us. FOOD: -Chix Flatbread Quesadilla - 2.5 stars, average, what you'd expect, good portion size -Poor Richard's Wings - 3.5 stars, these are spicy! I like! -Waffle Fries w/ Truffle Dijon - 4 stars crispy and lightly seasoned, up to par for my waffle fry standards Overall, pretty standard bar food and pretty average taste. Better than Applebee's but not gourmet or innovative. Get the job done for HH.

I went here with a friend for Happy Hour after work, so it was quite busy. We probably waited about 5 minutes until we got water. It took about another 5 minutes until our server came and took our order. We didn't get our food until about another 20-25 minutes. Keep in mind that we only ordered appetizers, which were $3 off the original price. Atmosphere was quite nice. They had a few TVs around. Service was good. Food was what you would expect from a bar & grill. Waffle fries - 4 stars Poor Richard's wings - 3 stars (very spicy) Chicken quesadilla - 4 stars

I had booked a room at the nearby LaQuinta to explore the Mall of America before moving on to downtown Minneapolis and after a long day of travel and the Mall we decided we needed a bite to eat, options were limited in the area without a car so luckily Poor Richard's Commonhouse seemed like a great option with reasonable prices. Once we arrived we were seated on the bar side, which was rather loud, however I am sure the sound would easily travel over to the dining room side of the restaurant. Neither of us were feeling all that well so we decided to skip the beer, which may have been a mistake considering everyone else was drinking. The menu here is pretty large, and has something for almost everyone. I decided to go with the Fish & Chips which were pretty good. The fries were also pretty good, portion size seemed to be just right too. The service was ok, nothing I would brag about. There are multiple TVs all over the bar area, which would make this a great place to catch a game or spend Sunday afternoon watching football.

I have come here many times after work, both when this spot was Majors and now that it is Poor Richard's. This is great for what it is - a loud place near a bunch office buildings and hotels to have a cold beverage and typical sports bar food in the suburbs. There is a large beer selection, both on tap and in bottles. They offer both a tall and short tap beer so, depending on how bad your day at work has been, you have a lot of options. I have never been disappointed with food that I have gotten here - wings, nachos, quesadillas, chicken fingers, etc. - but my expectations were not that high. I was here most recently on one of the first really nice days of Spring. This being Minneapolis, you can imagine what that meant for the wait for the outdoor seating, However, the wait was well worth it because they have a very nice patio. It gets a lot of afternoon sun, but they have plenty of umbrellas available - you just need to request one from your server if you are bald like me and try to avoid getting too much sun on the dome. Check Majors out the next time you want to complain about your boss with your co-workers - you won't be disappointed.

Very cheap happy hour specials! Had some wings and a beer and my bill came out to $6! it's a good after work hangout and it's pretty relaxed. Food was okay but not great, although I wasn't expecting the food to be great from a bar type place.

Came for an early HH with coworkers. Left with good impressions. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were fair. I ordered a round of shots, was given a great alternative to what I asked about and saved $30 because of it. Ordered the "Fire Gobbler" with mashed potatoes. Great sandwich and the potatoes tasted good, didn't taste like instant. Good beer selection.

Had dinner here on a trip up north and have to say don't bother. The food was okay but the service sucked. The servers were nice but just spread too thin. That's a real shame, we drove past several chains in order to try a local joint. We were seated in a dinning room a largely abandoned. They forgot our appetizer, and it took 15 MINS to get our drinks. May have been a fluke, but we won't go back.

Went here for the $24.99 crab leg dinner on Saturday, where you get veggies, mashed potatoes, salad, and cole slaw. You initially get 1/2 lb crab legs, and $1 with each refill of another 1/2 lb. All of the sides were good, but the crab legs were way over cooked which made them bland. When we told our server, he brushed us off and made it seem like we were trying to get a free meal, which wasn't the case at all! We just wanted to eat some decent crab legs! We thought it was just a bad batch so we ordered another serving, and it was the exact same. We asked for our bill, and our server dropped it off and said "I did what I could and got you 10% off" and walked away. I won't ever come back, and I don't recommend this place at all.

I like this place, they had the greatest all you can eat crab dinner deal going on for a while and the happy hour isn't too terrible. Parking lot is huge and there is a large patio area, a large bar area, and a separate dining room I've only seen old people eating in. The one thing to definitely avoid is the bingo, it costs $20 for 7 games and there are maybe 20-30 people playing. Go see Shaun at the pulltab booth though, it's probably one of two bars I'm actually up at, so that may be influencing my review here. I've been here once after 8 pm and there seemed to be a few kids YOLOing and hashtagging or whatever, we promptly got in the Buick to head home at that point.

Great atmosphere in this place. ALOT of TVs of you want to catch a game. Caribbean Jerk Wings are a must try. Perfect amount of heat served with a sweet dipping sauce with some pineapple flavor. Also a big fan of a beer coming in a frosted mug. Its a nice touch that alot of places dont think to add.

Well, not much to say here other than that I kind of had to do everything myself short of cooking the meal. I rate this at two stars only because the waiter did a good job of falling on the sword and apologizing. Here's an idea, if you have a lunch special in the month of March that advertises an avocado sandwich, don't run out of avocados six days in. I ordered the avocado chicken melt, and it came out with no avocados, after I asked if this was the right sandwich, the waiter took it back and returned with it and told me it was the right entree. I then asked where the avocados were, he looked at me perplexed as if I had asked him to solve world hunger in one word. After another trip to the kitchen, this place is out of avocados and felt great about not mentioning it to someone who ordered it. I also had to walk across the bar to another table to get a set of silverware and a napkin because the waiter didn't bring it. I also had to use my powers of acquisition to locate a working bottle of ketchup, as the one at the table was dryer than the Salt Flats of Utah, and as empty as my waiters black, black, heart. Poor Richard could probably be less poor with a little bit of customer service care!

Frequently dine at for work lunches. Service is always friendly and attentive, food is tasty and atmosphere is lively. This is our "go to" place as we have always had great experiences.

Co-workers picked Poor Richards for lunch. It was fine. The food is okay, just not something to get too excited about. A couple of people ordered lunch-sized portion salads (black and blue). They were clearly disappointed with the portion size. I had a bowl of clam chowder and a side salad. The soup was hot (temperature) but not much flavor. The salad was fresh and the creamy italian dressing was good. The service was very good. Our waitress was attentive and she got a generous tip for her effort. Would I go back, sure. Will I rush back, not likely.

I love the patio! The chairs are so comfortable, it's a great place to hang out with friends and family. The wings are over breaded but the flavor is hood. Happy hour is excellent with, $4 Bloody Mary's and Screwdrivers along with $ 3 wings ( bone-in ) $ 4 boneless.

Here for our bowling banquet...not my choice of venue. If you're into average food, then this is your place. Not much more I can say. I'd ordered the ribs, no potato and extra vegetables (green beans). The ribs were ok, the green beans were good. Nothing special and no reason to return unless I have no choice.

Our lunch here was okay... nothing special. It was cold & drafty in the restaurant (and not just because I was visiting from California). The decor is lacking & booths need to be replaced. Bathroom hasn't been remodeled-- 1 sink missing a cold handle.... strange. They have plenty of TVs if you need to catch the game. I got the Le French Burger with caramelized onions & melted Brie = yummy! Mashed potatoes were good. Red potatoes with skins & a bit of pepper. Fries looked like mid size steak fries. Walleye Fingers appetizer very good! I eat nothing from the sea, but wanted to try walleye and really liked it. Thanks Minnesota! Our waitress was friendly, but she was wearing Pajama Jeans! I'm guessing that's not part of the approved dress code...

  • Chris M.

For what it is, a suburban sports bar, Poor Richard's generally hits the mark. The bar area is massive and there certainly is no shortage of TV's for catching the game. I can't speak to the purely dining side of the operation, but I've always found the bartenders to be friendly and generally accommodating. The beer list isn't anything special, but otherwise they have a full bar and a fair amount of drink specials. As for the food - it's not bad and somewhat of a step up from the chain fare that is fairly prevalent in the area (the various burgers and sandwiches offer the most bang for your buck). Overall, Poor Richard's isn't a place I'd go out of my way to visit, but if I was in the area and in need of libations and/or a place to watch the game I'd certainly stop by.

I was traveling on business and came in to get a late dinner (~11p) & do some work. I came in late and the kitchen grill & fryer close at 11p - so the food selection is very limited after 11p. The internet speed is in the bottom 5% of businesses - don't come here of you need anything faster that dialup speed to get work done. The wait staff was pleasant and very helpful. They help me find something I could have for dinner with the limited selections available after 11. The Thai flat-bread was good and came fast. I'd come back. The staff was pleasant, the food was good. Sure - if I could find someplace that served dinner late & had decent internet I'd go there. But the options in the area were limted, and the place wasn't too bad.

I generally stay out of sports bars because the food is usually frozen versions of real food. My visit here reinforced why I dislike sports bars. The service was pretty mediocre. The waitress gave us a small flip menu to share between 6 people. Our drinks came pretty quick, but we had to ask a couple times for waters. The food wasn't the worst I've had, but I'll rank it in the bottom 10. My husband's chili was obviously nuked from yesterday's batch. It was hot on the outside and nice and cold on the inside. That plus the egg sized 'dollop" of sour cream really made it a winning dish. My sandwich was fine. The famous sriracha mayo was negligible and the lettuce had sat under the heat lamp for so long that the visible parts turned brown. My son's $7 french toast was just that. No eggs, or bacon or anything...just 3 half slices of bread. All in all, I'm sure the gas station next door had some hot dogs that would have been just as good.

Great service! Huge menu of appetizers to fit all taste buds. I noshed on wings and mini burgers of some sort. The beers here are very cold, and choices plentiful on tap or bottle. Our waitress was always nearby and kept us quenched and fed. Lively fun outdoor deck. I so get why people like to eat, drink, and meet friends here! If I lived nearby, I'd for sure be a regular.

Not a fave, with so many other options, I would suggest other places. This restaurant is located near the hotel I stay at when I'm at our MN office. It's convenient, but I will not be going back. The food was ok, but the service sucked. The Good The menu is varied but not overwhelming. They have a few "signature" dishes and they offer sriracha mayo. Get this to dip your fries in. (seriously, it's awesome! make it at home 1 part sriracha to 3 parts mayo.) The Philly steak sandwich was ok, not amazing, but hey it's Bloomington, not Philly. The Bad I walked up to the bar at 5:45pm on a Monday night. It was steady, but not crazy. I was greeted, asked for my drink choice, and had to ask for a menu. I was then left alone for 10 minutes, despite trying to get their attention. My fault for not getting a table I guess. The Ugly I watched one of the bartenders blow his nose, then not wash his hands. If he would have had his hands anywhere near my food I was prepared to just walk out. I was never offered a refill on my drink... at the BAR! At the end, I had my credit card in my hands on the counter in front of me for another 10 minutes. Finally I had to flag down the bartender to run it. The short of it. There are a lot of choices in the area, I would suggest someplace else.

Went for happy hour today. I got seated quickly by a nice kid at the front of the house. My rail drink was either REALLY bad liquor or just burnt. The waitress checked in frequently at the beginning but disappeared by the end and we grabbed someone else to tab us out. We got the thai peanut wings which were tasty and the boneless buffalo which were OK. I would go back for happy hour when I am in the area because it was cheap and had decent beer but won't make a habit of it.

Great food, great booze, great happy hours, and so on and so on. My greatest piece of advice is to catch the happy hours. The afternoon one and the late night one. They have really good drink specials and have a great selection. I've become a new fan of the Summit beers. They had a Summit Oktobrefest beer that was PHENOMENAL. Last time I was there, I had the Early Bird burger. It has a fried egg on it... need I say more? Another great feature of the place is that they have Sweet Potato Fries. Get them! They complement an Early Bird really nicely. Anytime I'm in Minneapolis, I try to pop my head into Poor Richards. I'll actually be there quite a bit this month, so yay!

As my travels happen me right past here and simultaneous stomach growls cannot be ignored any longer I cecum and turn the wheel. When I first turned into the public parking area between Poor Richard's and a strip mall I noticed the parking lot has many repaired potholes. This sometimes is enough to deflect my attention to a new business. However, as I further studied the vehicles of other patrons there was encouragement felt. There seemed to be approval from a business minded clientele. So I continued inside. I was greeted and led to a booth where I was waited on by Amber. Now, as it works out, this was Amber's first order. very exciting to have two rookies meet. Amber behaved like an old pro and quickly brought me my drink and placed my order. My meal choice was the BBQ Brisket Sandwich with caramelized onions and bacon and mashed potatoes for a side yelp.com/user_local_phot… I was very happy with my meal and the service was great. An easy 4 stars from me for Poor Richard's Commonhouse. There was also a lot of outdoor seating that I'll be sure to return to enjoy.

My wife and I had a $30 voucher for some vittles at Poor Richard's Common House. This is the old Majors restaurant on Hgwy 100, right by Normandale. We parked in the lot and entered the majestic inside of a well stocked sports bar. Taps everywhere. Good beer, crummy beer, beer in the middle. The have pull tabs off to the side if that is your thing For some reason, I was in a PBR mood, so I got a large 25 oz of the golden libation. Frosty mugs and usually cheap beer made me happy, but $7 seemed a little steep. That could be going prices nowadays cheap beer. It was just a little shocking. My wife and I chatted as I perused the menu, they had plenty of tasty looking options, but I chose the Mediterranean flat bread, and my wife ordered the Boston Brown Bread and a cup of the chicken tortilla soup. Our servers were great, they refilled my beer promptly with another PBR and had a cheerful face at all times. About 10 minutes later, out came out beautiful looking flat bread with some fabulous feta cheese and a plethora of olives and cheese. They had a great sauce underlying the melange of flavors on top. The crust was crispy and well cooked, but not burnt. Overall, I could only finish half of the flat bread, but I finished it off for a midnight snack. I tried my wife's chicken tortilla soup, and it was perfectly spiced. I would have liked a few more tortilla strips, but the flavor more than made up for it. The Boston bread came out in a coffee can, and it was deep brown and extremely dense. The sweetness of the molasses merged with the raisins or dates or whatever dried fruit was in there. It was pretty tasty. Overall, a cool sports bar, and with 2 beers,a flat bread, soup, and bread was $20 with tip after the $30 voucher. Good times.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Reviews of this place seemed hit or miss but since it's right by my hotel I wanted to check it out and I'm very glad I did. The place was busy but we were still seated right away. Waitress took our order right away and even recommended the popular favorites. I had the pot roast with guiness gravey and to me, it was some of the best pot roast I've ever had! No kidding. The meatloaf and chicken pot pie also came highly recommended as well. I'm going back tonight and may give those a shot but I can't get the pot roast out of my head, I may have to get it again tonight. Atmosphere is a relaxed bar atmosphere that serves excellent food at decent prices. Check this place out if you are in the area!

Pretty good food. Pretty good bar. Lots o' TVs for Monday Night Football. I'd rate it a 4 on the bar and a 3 on the food. The pot roast was really good but had waaay too many undercooked carrots in it.

It's a big place and is usually busy. Looks like a lot of people who work in that area go there for Happy Hour. As for me, I am not going there again unless I fail to convince my friends to change the venue!! I understand it's a big bar and they get pretty busy but no matter what it should not take the server 10 mins to finally come to a table. Ordered a beer and took forever to finally get to my table. Ordered some appetizers and paid almost as much as I would pay at a decent restaurant. I ordered the flatbread quesadillas and it was ok. Ordered the Cajun beef bites and they were pretty good but seriously?? 13 bucks for an appetizer at a sports bar?? I guess if I ever decide a venue for a Happy Hour it definitely won't be Poor Richard's!!

In MN on business. This place is right by my suite. Food overall was satisfying and reasonably priced. The downfall was the waitress. She was knowledgeable on what was on tap but was handling too many tables at once and never came to offer me a refill on my brew until after I was completely finished with my dinner (35 min later). Regardless I did enjoy the meal and I would go back but would be asked to be seated at the bar. Cheers !

We had a work sponsored happy hour at Poor Richard's recently. I hadn't previously heard of it but based on what I saw here on Yelp and on Poor Richard's website, I wasn't optimistic it was the sort of place I would be too excited about. My initial feeling was correct, I was not impressed. The beer selection was extremely mediocre. The only local brew was Summit (at least they had Saga IPA). The appetizers were pretty uninspired. I didn't see the entire selection that was ordered, however the Waleye fingers were pretty soggy and the massive plate of nachos were quite bland. On the plus side, service was very good. Our waitress was prompt and friendly, I don't think anyone had to wait for a drink. If you like sports bars and don't mind a selection of macro-brews and run-of-the-mill appetizers then you'll likely enjoy this place. However if you prefer craft brews and something more inspired when it comes to food then this is probably not the place for you.

Stopped in for a beer and an app with some friends last night - we tried the mussels - they were decent. The sauce was creamy and spicy - I liked it - although not sure i would rush back there for it. At 10pm they have free beer - I'm assuming just on thursday so there was quite a line of 20-something partiers coming in when we left. The waittress also offered us $3 shots at 930. Seems like quite the party place for the 1st ring 'burbs. It's a sports bar - not bad - just not really my style though. The beer special was a big mug of the goose island 313 wheat - wasn't really a fan of the beer. They have some decent taps but nothing out of the ordinary . The flatbread 'zas looked pretty good.

    1. I have had an issue with something every time I've been in here (3 times) as well as when it was Major's in the past. Either with servers, the food being wrong, the food taking 30 min to get to our table or a buddy of mine getting in a fight. 2. I have yet to experience service with a smile. 3. I have yet to experience REAL service where I haven't had to search someone down to order. 4. The food is boring, simple and cost too much for what you get. I'd rather go to TGIF up the street or hell, even the local Mac-Donalds up the street. 5. It's DWI city. Now, I don't condone drinking and driving, but there is always a city of Bloomington Cop sitting in the parking lot ready for some action.

What can I say. It was near by, and it had beer! Not much on the vegetarian selections for food, but I got by. The portions were pleasantly filling and the staff were helpful. Will I go again? If I am in the same location in Minnesota, I think the answer would be yes!

I had the veggie pizza here, and the food was good for late night bar food. It was hot and had good flavor. Service was so-so, although everyone was super friendly (other than some of the other guests).

We were here for the Packers-Vikings game on Sunday and they had more than enough space, lots of TVs, pretty quick service, and exceptional tomato bisque soup. Mmmm. PlusthePackerswon :)

I really like this place! I like the layout, the decor, the friendly employees... The overall atmosphere of this restaurant. I ordered a crab quesadilla for my dinner and a strawberry lemonade... I know, it sounds interesting... But both were delicious and a very reasonable price. I will for sure be ordering it again. It looked like they had some tasty cocktails on the menu, next time I'll have to try one. The night I went there was a local country band was playing... Great tunes, good food and fun people. Not much more one could ask for!

Great place for an after-work drink. Nothing outstanding about their menu, service, or location, but overall a decent place to sit and relax after putting in a long 40(+) hour week!

Not sure about the other reviews but I have been there three or four times when staying at the crowne. Service is always very good and professional. They always tell me about the specials...if they didn't I would have ordered full price anyways so that's nice. Food is typical pun fare but I like the service and atmosphere.

I went for apps and few drinks with a friend last night. I like the new décor and theme since they were Major's. We moved from the original seating location since it was way too loud to have a good conversation. Initially, we were seated in the rear seating area and since the roof is shaped like a barn, the conversations really echo. Our waitress there was fantastic (Casey 5 stars), but since we moved to the bar area we had to switch waitresses. Nothing like getting an attitude the entire time. (Name withheld) Had the mussel app and the calamari app. The mussels were ok, and its sauce was over salted for my taste. The calamari was covered in a jalapeno type salsa/relish, which made the dish soggy and hot. I really think it would be much better if it were on the side vs. covered. (In retro, I now can say I had calamari nachos!) Overall, if it wasn't for Casey, I would not recommend this place and new theme. Casey stopped by our table as she made her rounds and took care of us for her peer. We took care of her with a tip, and adjusted accordingly with our waitress. Outstanding place for people watching.

Used to be a Majors and the spilled beer and over-served drunk girl vomit smell is still embedded in the carpet. I love the concept but they really need to go with it. The food actually was decent (blue cheese bread was really good) but the service was awful. We had three different servers which should have meant service should have been faster right? Nope, just lead to confusion and not getting beer or water fast enough. If I had a bunch of friends that insisted on going there I would probably tag along but then again, I have better friends than that.

Nothing different from the Major's that used to occupy the space. Average bar food, I feel like it's a limited menu without anything special to it. I went once for personal reasons and that was mostly because they had TVs to watch a baseball game, otherwise I limit my visits to after work happy hours, and tend to avoid that if possible.

Had an amazing time at poor richard's the hosts were very helpful. The servers were great I got my food and refills very quickly never had to even ask for a refill once!

Pretty much the same experience as the last reviewer except at lunch right down to being seated on the patio. I wish I had the luxury of a long lunch but alas that it took an hour to get a salad and an appetizer was just too slow. The waitress was really apologetic but don't think I'll be back unless I don't have to be anywhere.

Excellent service and dinner at Poor Richards tonight. At $4.99 happy hour price, the asparagus app is plenty for three or four people. The cheese tortellini with prosciutto and fresh tomato was a little peppery but well worth trying. The meatloaf with buttermilk mashed potato's and fresh green beans was great. I suggest, as I did, purchase the freshly made bread with melted blue cheese and save one of the slices of meatloaf to make a fabulous sandwich for lunch the next day. That is if you don't eat it for a midnight snack or on the way home while stuck in traffic.

I stand corrected on my small dining room comment from earlier. Sorry Poor Richards! They actually have three dining areas. Yes, two are small, but the third is huge. They are not all always open, but the possibilities are there. You have the chance to experience a big sports bar atmosphere or an intimate romantic dinner setting (in the dining room with a fireplace and NO TV's). I guess they have all of the pieces in place. Now for that 5th star...

Went here last night because a family friend was having her 40th celebration here. We were in the back room which was a pretty good sized room to reserve for a party or gathering. I had a sam adams and a bacon cheddar burger with Fries and coleslaw. The food was pretty good that we had. The waitress that we had was nice. I would go back here again. Try it if your in the area sometime.

Had some decent beer specials, plenty of TVs, bartenders were nice. The wings and fries were mediocre, at best. I'd go again, for beers and to watch a game; but I imagine the food is just your average pub food.

The food was decent. The prices seemed a little high for the quality. Their happy hour is okay, but not the best. I had one of their flat breads and their chicken tenders breaded with Cap 'n' Crunch. It's not that good. They were really kind of flavorless. The flat bread was pretty good. , but it wasn't something worth going back for. Our waitress was a bit inconsistent and it took my group a while to get our bill. In general, I felt like there were too many inconsistencies. Their website and menu seem to indicate a more classier place, but the waitresses all wore really tight, low cut shirts, and were not very attentive. They market the quality of their food better than they are at making and serving it. It's convenient for happy hour after work, but not something I'd choose to return to.

Was just at Poor Richards about 20 minutes ago - save the trip and go somewhere else. 2 hours of constant waiting on our waitress with very few patrons. We ate in the back room with only one other family, the waitress took the kids orders right away but didn't return for over 20 minutes. By the time she took the adults orders the kids were done eating (not a good scenario). She charged us an up charge for beverages that were included with the kids meals (according to the menu) then argued with us on the overage stating she'd been charging people this extra fee for a very long time regardless of what the menu said. She also up-charged us $2 for a vegetable substitute on a kids meal without any heads up at ordering. We had to ask for silverware (and she only brought two sets with two extra napkins for 4 adults) and never did get water brought to the table. Also, no changing table in the mens bathroom and the changing table in the womens bathroom is literally falling off the wall. Then we had to sit and wait for the bill to come what a waste of a Saturday night.

  • Ethan R.

  • Kelly C.

Cheers !

Was near the hotel i was staying in. Food was good. found a coupon for a free appetizer online so dinner for two with the app was about 25 bucks. Good atmosphere. Staff was pretty good nothing blow away...

The new updated decor is great! I highly recommend the fried asparagus and cap'n crunch chicken tenders for appetizers. All the bartenders are great as well! A super place for a happy hour!

Had an amazing time at poor richard's the hosts were very helpful. The servers were great I got my food and refills very quickly never had to even ask for a refill once! Food was out of this world I would recommend poor richard's to ever one and tell them about the free beer from 10-11 ever Thursday!
