Bonfire is hilariously overpriced. And by that I mean the food is mediocre at best, the prices are undeserved, and anyone willing to pay for them is a chump.

Took over 90 minutes to get our food. When we did get the food it was cold and undercooked. We didn't pay for most of the meal. Good thing I was with great friends who helped make the time fly.

I will definitely come here again for HAPPY HOUR! It's very nice and big inside, I think. They are so many tvs everywhere around the bar, but if you want a little romantic space, there's a section for it. I came here for a very late night happy hour and it wasn't busy at all. The bartender was very nice and sweet (forgot her name). I ordered salsa and chips, they had three different kinds of dip.I tried their lettuce wrap and it wasn't too bad. Their food tasted like they were fresh and good. Not going to complain;) Parking is free on the lot and happy hour is cheap!

I stop here fairly often and I have always had excellent service. The pizza is very good and the menu has enough variety that I often times can't think of what to order. The bull bites, fish tacos, and bontons are all favorites of mine. The have a very well stocked bar and insanely cheap happy hour if your looking to booze the night away. Parking is occasionally not the bees knees.

Took a customer to this place. Service was very poor. Had has many people working as customers. Yet, took a while to get us seated. Service was slow. Delivered appetizers to wrong table. Took a while for them to figure it out. Food was just ok. Salmon was good. Fish tacos where ok. A coworker asked for a steak medium rare and got well done.

There were at least 50 people in the entry when we arrived for our 8pm reservation. We were finally seated at 8:50. The server was inexperienced, was uneducated about the menu and failed to keep drinks filled. The food came out in reasonable time. The steak and walleye were good but my shrimp were rubbery and overcooked. They advertised an acoustic band that was supposed to start at 9. We left at 10:10 and there was no sign of a band. We missed the movie we planned to see. I don't think I'll be back.

Went into Bonfire for an lunch meeting this week. After having read some reviews I went in with low expectations but left very happy. First off, we had great service. Our server was friendly and attentive and gave some great advice about what to order. I order the Cowboy Tacos and they were excellent; pulled pork, topped with crunchy onions, and coleslaw in a flour tortilla. I would definitely have them again...or try to recreate them at home. My friends ordered other lunch fare...salads, soup and everything was great. It was a little quiet on a Tuesday afternoon and was great for our meeting. I will go back again if in the area.

I was able to make reservations online very easily. I was promptly and welcomingly greeted at the door. The place was very clean and had a nice atmosphere to it. Our server was very nice and attentive. The food was good but I felt it was a bit overpriced. I order the steak with mashed potatoes. Those were not just any mashed potatoes, however, they were buttermilk bacon...and yes, they were excellent as they sound. For 2 entrees, 1 soda and 1 alcohol beverage, the total was $49 without tip. While my food was good, I don't think the value was all that impressive. Also, it took a long time to get the food and it was not piping hot like I would have expected it to be. There was a glaze over the potatoes which means to me it had been sitting around for a little while. The place was not particularly busy so this surprised me a bit. Not likely to return unless someone else is paying and there is a absolute desire to go there.

Worst server ever! Meals were mediocre and drinks slow coming and tasteless. The drinks stayed at the bar. We asked if they were done yet then our waiter to get them. They had been sitting for at least ten minutes. We ordered salads. They didn't come until we asked. He went to get them and they were waiting to be delivered. We ordered our dinner (6 of us). They came slowly and when they came, my wife's order hadn't been sent in to the kitchen by our waiter. Needless to say, our meals were finished at different times. My wife brought her dinner home.

I'm in town visiting my family and we stopped here for apps and drinks. Walking in, the ambiance is nice. You notice the fire burning int he kitchen right away, and I love the smell. It's a little under-lit, but it enhances the "bonfire" atmosphere. We sat at the bar, where the design of the bar itself was very poorly executed. It is placed directly in front of the door, so on cold blustery days, you're likely to get a chilly blast every time the door is opened. One end of the bar has a raised beer tap, so you are stuck staring at the back of that and are cut off from the bartenders (this, of course, is the area of the bar that is farthest away from the door). We ended up sitting on one side of the bar that donned a large support beam coming through the bar, so my party felt a little isolated from each other. The service was good. There were two bartenders and they were friendly and content. The food, however, was forgettable. I ordered the beef tip appetizer. They came plated very strangely. Beef was tossed onto the plate, then some random large chunks of tomato, and a half-handful of onion straws. It looked very lazy. The beef was overcooked and some pieces were particularly tough. The seasoning was okay, but just missed the mark, like it was afraid to commit to being spicy (they are supposed to be a Cajun flavor- I currently live in Louisiana- they were not very Cajun-y). We also ordered the nachos. They tasted pretty good. The chips were light and crispy. There were a LOT of toppings, which I love. We would have liked to have ground beef as a meat option, but settled for the chicken, which was still great. I don't know what it was that set it off, but I was painfully bloated and gassy after eating here, which was a huge bummer. I would not go here for a date or with anyone I have to impress. Just in case. Overall, if asked to come here again, I wouldn't object (aside from the situation mentioned above), but I wouldn't miss it if I never went again.

I found this place pretty humorous after my experience with a work lunch. It's a nice enough space but the food and service were mediocre, at very best. 11 of us had 2 servers and it was such a shit show. Watching the one server carry a coffee was like watching a 9 year old girl walk in high heels. They were bringing out incorrect refills, forgetting house salads that generally come before one's meal and the lunch took way too long. I got the lunch special with a half French dip (good) and half chopped salad (blah) with a side of fries/ranch. The fries didn't come out with the meal so I asked about them and received a little side plate with fries on it. After we paid, had coats on and were about to walk out, another server brings out this large order of fries in this gussied up plating and was like...did someone order fries. Um, 2 hours ago but thank you. It's Blaine. It's a chain. Food is slow but edible...if one is desperate. I hope to never go back here.

I sat here for about 20 minutes during my lunch hour before I finally gave up and went to the Wendy's across the street. I had a menu but never got the opportunity to even ask for a drink.

Wow, not good! $19.00 steak that was the size of the cel I'm typing this on. Had to ask for Bearnaise sauce just to eat the well done steak that was suppose to be medium that I asked for.

This place is understaffed, overpriced, low quality of food and has poor customer service! I wish I could go back in time and have my night back! First it took forever to be seated for 4 adults and 2 kids even though there appeared to be plenty of open tables. Finally, we were seated for dinner and it took quite a while to get drinks and an appetizer -I was starving. I was a bit excited when I noticed they had a cream cheese wonton I had never heard of before (this is rare fo me)! It was called a bonton, with rotisserie chicken, gorgonzola and cream cheese, with a hint of buffalo sauce. These arrived within 10 minutes and I thought they were 7 out of 10 stars after adding the sweet thai chilli sauce that accompanied the bontons! The rest of our time here was awful! Apparently the reason we had multiple servers had to do with training night! It seems proper to let the guests know that there will be staff traiing and maybe we would be more patient with the overall slower service!! It was taking over 30 minutes to get 2 salads, 1 enchilada, 1 taco and 1 kids grilled cheese!! FInally as we almost walked out, a manager came over to say that our food would be out in 45 seconds. Yeah right! I think someone should have stopped by much sooner to let us know about the delay, given us salads or a free pop refill and AT LEAST brought out the kids grilled cheese! The food finally came out 1 minute later and they didn't offer a discount or an apology. The only reason I gave this chain restaurant 1 star has to do with the bontons, nothing else. We will not return!!

So disappointing!! We've been coming here for birthday dinners for the last 3 years and we've decided it's time to find someplace new. Went tonight and place was understaffed and food was undercooked. Felt terrible for the waitress. We had to send back my sons steak twice. No manager to acknowledge the issue. Again wasn't the waitresses fault and she did remove his order from our bill. However, this is the third time in the past year this type of service has been provided. We've given them the benefit of the doubt and it's now time to move on. Good luck to you Axel's!

They changed the menu- it is still not better- the service was terrible- went with a large party, (my family) on the day they changed the menu a few months back- there was more than enough waiters, but no one refilled our drinks, and they kept saying no to all our off menu or old menu requests. They have the food to make other things, and we were with children. Also the best thing on the old menu was all the walleye options. Now you can only have it one way. I am sad to say after years of loving my walleye here- I will never go again. Here's to the hopefully new local restuant that will eventually take Bonfire's place.

This place has great food and service. The food I had was fresh and tasty. My bartender was very attentive and knew all of all the food items on the menu. I don't understand why it has only three stars? If you are traveling through the area I would recommend this place for a good meal and a nice cocktail. All the reviews I read complained about long wait times. There is a Wendy's across the street If you want to eat fast.

I really have no idea how they place ended up with an average of one star from every other Yelper. My experience wasn't that bad. Honestly, there isn't much special about this place. The menu is kinda thin, drinks aren't that cheap, service is nothing spectacular. But it certainly isn't one star in my opinion. I'd say it was passable. Would I come here if I didn't work in Blaine? You got me there.

This is the go-to meet up place for my family. The location is midway for us all. The service has always been excellent, the food delicious. And I have the rewards card so I've gotten several free meals... WIN!! And my sister got a yummy piece of Bailey's chocolate cake for her birthday.

Food? Service- terrible, manager- *&%#$* I have had so many people tell me that the Bonfire places are terrific, well I always like to find things out for myself and in this case I sure did. Maybe it's because it was a week-night with no dueling pianos but it was not good regardless. It was a business meeting and I must say I really don't even remember what the food was like. This isn't so much because I was so drawn into the conversation that all was missed it is simply because the food was very average. I know we started with one of the flat bread pizzas, word to many...Everyone is doing flat bread pizza, they are nothing special, way to average and unless you are going to do something different it's like serving a loaf of bread, plain. The real treat came as our meal completed. When I first arrived I had ordered a glass of the house red-cab, a Robert Mondovi something. When the rest of the group arrived we talked with our waitress who was the same person who had served me my glass and we decided to get a bottle of the same thing that I had been drinking, the house red. When we got the bill there was a $70.00 bottle of Rob Mon on the tab. I told her we had been drinking the house (about a $20 bottle) but she said, NO we drank what she brought us. Now I wasn't paying the bill but the whole idea of it really ticked me off, she made a mistake with the bottle and we were supposed to pay for it. Now I did something I never do, I asked to speak to the manager. I explained the problem and he sided with the waitress. He said we should have know when we saw the bottle. I explained that I hadn't seen the house bottle and I had no way of knowing what the price was or what the label looked like. To make a very long story short, I wouldn't let the party pay and the most he offered was to give us some coupons. I assured him I was the only one from the City and there was NO way I was going to come back to their restaurant. After almost 20 minutes, we payed for the bottle and I will never return. KT

My wife and I eat here a couple times a year. We are fond on the steak and walleye dinner. I love the green beans that come with it. I usually get Guiness here, but they had Bell's Oberon during the summer.

I've been here a few times and I keep wanting it to be good but it's not. The food is just... meh. The service is super slow. I give up on you Axel's. Can we please get a decent restaurant there?

Went for a weekend lunch with friends. Quickly seated in a decent dining area. Quickly received drinks and refills were prompt. Ordered the Arizona? chicken wrap. It was ok, not much chicken and the wrap needed some seasoning. I got a small piece of gristle/bone from the rotisserie chicken. Not that I need copious amounts of fries but they came in a very small portion. My friends' meal was similar with a side salad instead of fries and only 1/2 of a wrap. Other friend got the bontons which looked really good. Overall, nothing amazing but I didn't dislike it. I would try again. Oh and for a fairly empty dinning room lunch it took a while to receive our meal once we ordered, not sure why.

My husband came here after we got engaged two years ago and also had our rehearsal dinner here. They've changed the menu since then but for the worse. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either, especially for the $$.

Despite the lovely interior design and okay food, I can't recommend this one. we were not greeted when we entered the restaurant (we and others had to wait around for a hostess to show up several minutes later because the untrained wait staff didn't know the procedure for hosting), the wait staff was inexperienced and poorly trained, and the time waiting for food to be served after order was over half an hour. As we both had fish, and the restaurant was mostly empty, this seemed excessive. Unfortunately, this is similar to an experience I had here two years ago, the only other time I've been to this restaurant. Back then we waited 45 minutes for our food after order. So I guess they've improved? In any case, the bar looked quite nice. That's where most of the customers were. Dining customers were sparse the whole time we were there. The main courses are bizarrely priced, with some dishes drastically cheaper than others for no apparent reason. Side dishes were unimaginative and boring. The desserts were a pretty decent value for the size (meals unto themselves - easily share the giant cookie with 4 people for $6).

Nice atmosphere- Good mixed drinks- Helpful wait staff- Wood grilled pizza was really good my Medium Rare steak was Well done with absolutely no pink honestly the food was mediocre. Overall the atmosphere was good I'll go again for appetizers and drinks again.

Just ordered from the restaurant week menu. Green beans and lettuce wraps for our appetizers. I ordered the blackened chicken pasta and my husband order the pork chop. We ended up bringing 4 boxes of food home. Everything was served perfectly and the presentation was lovely. We now have dinner and desert for another evening too. All that for 37.00 including drinks. Awesome deal!

I've only eaten here once, but my experience is no where near as bad as some of the reviews indicate. The food was good and quick, the beer was cold and the price was about average. I think too many people have been watching cooking shows and think they are food experts now.

This place gets hated on quite a bit on here so Ill show it some love. Ive eaten here twice in July and the food was great one time and so so the other time. Both servers always were more than attentive and THE DESERTS ARE SOOO GOOD! The chocolate chip warm giant cooke and two scoops of ice cream are worth the $14! I could eat that all day long... Give this place a break, I realize it could be a little better for the money but its pretty above average in my book...

I just had dinner at Axel's Bonfire (Blaine, MN) Location. our server was great, always on top of everything asking if we need anything and refilling drinks before we need new ones. Appetizer: Walleye Fingers $11.95 half price today, they were done just right, very good. Salad: Asian Chicken Salad $10.95, looked like it came out of a dole salad mix bag with almonds and Mandarin Oranges thrown on top for color. flat and life less. Wood-Grilled Meats: Hand-Cut Ribeye 14oz $24.95, I ordered a medium cooked Ribeye. I will start by this was the worst ribeye I have ever had, dry, thin cut, no flavor. Server told me they cut them right off the slab in the kitchen. This steak looked like it was precut off location and put in vacuumed bags and frozen until ready to use. Did not have the shape or color of new off the slab Ribeye.. When the corners are square, I don't know what to say. I should have taken a picture, to place in my review. Background on me; I have been a chef for over 15years. I love to cook on fire grills and Ribeye is one of the only cuts, I buy for our home. I wish you guys the best. Lost customer

Axel's. Why do I seem to always end up here? Oh yeah--I have friends that live in the suburbs and they think it's 'so awesome'. The last time I came here was one of said friends' birthday parties. There were only 2 people waiting for tables but they gave us one of those light-up buzzers to announce when our table would be ready. I thought it was kind of impersonal since we were sitting 2 feet away from the hostess podium. When we were seated, our table was one of those uber-tall tables with barstools that make me feel like a 5-year-old because my legs barely reach the rungs. Why they couldnt seat us at one of the empty normal-height tables, I couldn't tell you. Also, I ordered a beer which cost me $5 and usually costs me $3.75 within the city limits. Next, I ordered the butternut squash ravioli because that is always good. Honestly, always. Nobody has ever messed it up for me, but Axel's did me a doozie. Theirs comes with "portabello" mushrooms (sure looked like regular white button mushrooms to me!), red peppers, and chicken in a Rosa sauce. I asked the waitress what "Rosa" sauce was since I've never had it and she just stared at me with a blank face. Finally she said, "It's sort of light pink--like a mix of marinara and alfredo." I asked her what it tastes like and I got the blank stare again. I asked if it actually WAS a mixture of marinara and alfredo but she said she didn't know. I even offered up, "Does it taste like vodka sauce?" and the blank stare persisted so I finally said I would order it no matter what it tasted like. Oh and I am a vegetarian so I asked for no chicken on mine. After about 20 minutes, we all got our dinners. My friend sitting next to me ordered the same dish but hers had chicken in it. This is the fact I attributed it to when my plate arrived looking like a deflated balloon next to hers. I was sad with my sacrifice but I started to eat anyway. There were large chunks of tomatoes in the Rosa sauce, which indeed was a mixture of alfredo and marinara. The little garlic toasts that came on the plate were cute and I used them to sop up the sauce and munch away, until I noticed something extremely odd. I peered closer at my plate to confirm and lo and behold it was true--they forgot to put the ravioli in my dish. My plate actually was full of vegetables and sauce but NO PASTA. I have seriously never had this happen to me and I burst out laughing at the pure idiocy of both cook and server for not noticing this glaring mistake. It took us another 10 minutes to call the server over and I patiently watched my friends eat their dinners while my soppy mess stared at me, taunting: "No ravioli, no ravioli!" in a sing-song voice. I still cant believe I was served a plate of sauce. Although the server apologized profusely, my plate came back 15 whole minutes later with just ravioli dumped on top (no extra sauce, no new breads) and she still charged me full price for the meal. I couldn't believe it. I have worked as a cook for over 5 years and that type of mistake is just ridiculous. How do you not control what comes out of your kitchen--and how do the servers not look at what they put on people's tables? It is unforgivable.

Have frequently visited this place. Our last visit was during restaurant week. I love the service here. Our waitress was unsure what was in one of the salads and instead of making it up she said "I don't know" and went and asked someone else. She was attentive and nice. The lettuce wraps never disappoint.

Clean. Great atmosphere. Great service. Good food. Could use a little more spice on the kabobs or a sauce on the side. Desert was yum! I want to come back to try the fish tacos.

Swear I already did this review, but at any rate...came here for Easter Brunch, which is only one of two brunches that they serve throughout the year (apparently they also do Mother's Day). That being said, unfortunately it was quite apparent that they do not put on brunches quite often as many things were inconvenient and poorly done. To start the layout was terrible. It took a few minutes for any of us to even find the plates...NOTE TO BONFIRE: put the plates closer first food table! Secondly, your pancake "chef" (very loosely used here) needs to learn how to cook pancakes through, TIP: Wait for pancakes to BROWN. All the pancakes we ordered were completely runny on the inside until we literally brought it up to the guy manning the griddle. The omlette station was ridiculous, we literally had to stand in front of the guy as he was doing nothing and fill out a form informing him what type of omlette we wanted...NOTE TO BONFIRE: humans have mouths that are able to make sounds useful for communicating between one another, since you only have one pan just have the customer tell the guy behind the table what they want on their omlette and be done with it. Eggs Benedict was terrible, egg was cooked all the way through, and the thin filmstrip layer of hollandaise sauce was already baked on my the heating light. Highlights: Carving station seving roast beef with side of au jus Two small bowls of peel-and-eat shrimp and crab claws (however, if you are not going to refill it, just don't put it out there in the first place)

Not sure where the bad reviews come from on this place. My experience was nothing short of amazing. Staff was extremely polite and attentive. Steak was cooked perfectly. Prices are reasonable for steak and the like. If you don't want to spend $20 on a steak or proper meal, go to Applebee's.
