Love this place! My wife and i consider this place a treat. Every time we are in the area we tease each other about wanting to go here to grab some subs. My favorite thing about this place is the authentic italian meat selection. The only negative thing i can say about the place is that they don't have a grill or fryer. If they could offer grilled or hot subs i would probably eat there more.

I grabbed a couple subs there for me and my wife to eat on her lunch break, and I have to say that in my holy submarine sandwich trinity, Boardwalk Subs now occupies the top spot, above Jimmy Johns and Subway. The bread is brought in from a bakery fresh each day, the meat is sliced to order in front of you, and the sandwiches are HUGE: fifteen inches to be exact. They actually cut it up into small, manageable pieces for you, which is considerate considering they aren't stingy with the toppings, either. This is how a sub should be. I'd give it a perfect rating if the bread was chewier like Jimmy Johns, but you can't get everything.

They slice your meat in front of you (but it's not gross like Blimpie Sub meat). Slice your cheese, fresh bread. The toppings are not many, but they have all my favorites and can be generous with them. My favorite is turkey and salami with extra pickles, olives, lettuce and onion. Then it's a toss up between mayo and honey mustard or mayo with vinegar and oil. Both very delicious. Like all sub places they offer soups, which are nothing special; chips and cookies which are something special!! They also offer a punch card which is a nice reward for being a loyal customer. Try it! You won't be sorry!!

They have great selection of deli meats. The staff is great and will help guide you to a perfect sandwich. As others have posted the meat and cheese is sliced right in front of you. Don't expect too many vegetables on your sub either, but that allows the user to taste the meat. The subs do exceed the standard 12 inches, Tallarico's gives you a whopping 15 inches so come hungry.

These subs are top notch. Super fresh toppings and meats. Sliced for your sandwich. No they don't have a salad bars worth of variety for their subs toppings but the subs are tasty without it. This is no Subway by any means. Boardwalks food actually has flavor. The bread is fresh and has good texture to it. The subs are HUGE too. They wrap them up in nice butcher paper and you can save some for a snack later. I wish they were closer to my home.

Probably one of the bigger subs you'll ever see or eat. Meatball is one of the best around as well. Even when it's full they get you all set pretty quick.

After a few hours of shopping at the new outlet mall we came here for some grubbing. This is a great place for sandwiches. I like how they cut them up in thirds and sometimes in sixths if you get the whole damn 15 inch sandwich like my father and I did each. Yep, to top it off we got the everything sandwich. He got his with the Italian dressing and I got mine dressed with the chipotle mayo, but it wasn't as spicy as I would have liked it to be. My dad and I did do a pretty good job of finishing 4 out of the 6 parts of the sandwich, and then I had the rest for breakfast and it was still good! I was pretty impressed with the white chili my mom had too. I noticed she finished the whole cup. The service was pretty friendly and the prices were reasonable.

Great freshly made sandwiches. Interesting fresh ingredients. Great service too. They have some kind of Italian Hamthat makes a great topping and adds lots of flavor. I would definitely recommend this over subway or other chains.

Dumb girl with a terrible attitude spilled my sandwhich on the floor scooped it up from the drirty ground and continued to make my sandwhich and another sandwhich after, with the same gloves. Disgusting. We walked out.

Today I walked about a mile both ways just to get Boardwalk subs, and let me tell you. It was worth it. For $7 for as 15 inch sub is amazing! They cut the meat right in front of you and you know it's fresh. If you are looking for good subs, and want some local amazing subs, boardwalk is the way to go.

A great sub, there so big 3 feeds five with left overs. There are not cheap no 5 dollar footling here , but you get what you pay for. Sweet staff that goes the extra mile. If I had one compliant I have thought it was a little dirty for time to time and I did pull my hand in something sticky on the counter once. Still the subs are out of this world.

What a perfect sub with a prime selection of meats. When you go in tell then it's your first time and they give you a few samples of there more unique meats that you don't find often.

I had heard about this place for years, and recently started going there for dinner pretty frequently, their cold-cut subs hit the spot when it's hot out and don't want something heavy. They slice the meat and cheese right in front of you onto the sub, then top it with whatever veggies and sauces you'd like. I personally recommend the Turkey and Prostitini sub with cheese(provolone) it's huge, roughly 1/4 wider and longer than a subway sub. With a large drink it's about 10 bucks, but it's completely worth it. Sure you can get cheaper foot long subs, but well, they're cheaper for a reason.

This place has the best subs in Grand Rapids, hands down. Freshly sliced meats and cheese on bakery fresh bread... it doesn't get any better. Like other reviewers said before, they don't have as many choices as the chains do in terms of veggies to top off the sub, but they have the important ones! Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, jalapeno, banana peppers, and black olives. They also have a pretty extensive list of sauces - I always go with the roasted garlic mayo.. YUM! Prices are a little on the high side.. but you know what they say.. you get what you pay for! And I am very happy to fork over a few extra dollars for a quality sub (that ALWAYS turns into two meals).

the subs are really good, the salad is nothing special. I would love to see more vegetarian options besides no meat and extra cheese. the owner is definitely rude and I do not enjoy the way he interacts/talks down to his staff. I've been a boardwalk supporter for 5 ish yrs now and thats always disturbed me.

First time here, ladies behind the counter were super helpful. All the cheese and meats sliced fresh with each sandwich. Not your cheap subway sandwiches, and worth the few extra coins.

I love the subs and how they cut the subs so they are easy to eat and the price is right
