This is a great place for a cool summer evening or a fun outdoorsy lunch. The big garage doors keep you under the roof but also get you plenty of fresh air. The tap beer selection is limited but not bad. The menu is also small but the homemade chips are awesome and the sandwiches are good. My spouse loves the soups and if they have the white chicken chili then he highly recommends it! The service is friendly and fast.

Our moped club hit this place en masse without warning just as a golf outing was leaving, and they accommodated us well. Nice staff, great building and best of all: WATKINS SLIDERS! Big and beefy, lots of pickles and grilled onions, they are what I remember. Coming back soon.

I ordered the spicy chicken wrap on a lavash wrap. It was spicy and very big. It had a very good taste. It came with fries. The fries were salted with sea salt. It was a little salty for my liking but I am one that is not keen on salt. The place was very cool inside with garage doors that were open. It was a very nice dinner.

New bar here in downriver. I like the homey atmosphere. It's a great place to hang out in. Their food is not expensive, and tastes amazing. Get this, they even have buffalo burger. I had it the first time my neighbor brought us here. It was delish. Their drinks are typical, but the staff is super attentive and friendly. This place has my stamp of approval. Hang out with friends or to start off your bar hopping adventure. Two thumbs up from me. (",)

Love the building, place is a good spot for under 40's on the weekend...tough to get a drink and the patio in the back should be utilized so much better than it is. In Wyandotte this is one of the only bars for a younger crowd and you can tell. Alot of the time we find ourselves heading next door for a drink at the Dotte Pub when we can't get a drink at Captains...love the garage doors though!

Captain's Bar in Wyandotte has been a nice addition to the downtown Wyandotte Scene. During the warm months the doors roll up and the bar becomes one with the outdoors. Beyond that it's a pretty average place to grab a beer with friends and keep an eye on the game. I've eaten here twice and both have been a huge disappointment, absolutely flavorless. 16oz aluminum can domestics $3.00, limited brews on tap. The age range varied with the 30 something crowd dominating. Overall vibe is good, eat someplace else.

It's ridiculous to ridicule a place for giving the customer base exactly what they're looking for. Captain's is a new and different scene for bargoers in Wyandotte, who are used to the more pub-like atmospheres of DoHickey's or Prush's. It has a more open concept, akin to popular neighborhood bars in Boston or NYC. There were quite a few interesting drink specials when I visited back in July (not just your typical domestic beer selection), and yes, the bar was unfinished-- because the owners of Captains wanted to open their doors by Street Fair, and they accomplished that goal. Downtown Wyandotte has always been home to a huge number of bars, and therefore is sort of a home to downriver's nightlife. I'm sure that if Captain's is breaking noise ordinances, some sort of legal action will be taken-- without that, I'm going to assume that it's your run-of-the-mill noise level.

New to the area, Captain's puts the 'D' in Downriver. With a very deceiving building face, you arrive and think you are heading to a really great place, only to find out that the construction on the building isn't even finished (the bar still has plywood exposed). The beer selection is poor, but most patrons that come here are quick to settle for a Bud Light in an aluminum can, so I guess they are feeding the demographic. The food is sub-par, though the fried pickles are decent. As for the crowd this bar attracts, err, well, can you say douche? There is zero crowd-control and I haven't seen any sort of security. A lack of patio and staff means people are free to wander and drink in the middle of Oak Street, where at the wee hours of night they completely disregard the fact that people that live in the neighborhood may not want to hear them scream animalistic sounds to one another as they kick back another drink they probably could do without. Last night there was, pardon my pun, yelping so loud at 2:30 in the morning that I almost called the police to have them shut them up. A good time is fine, but it doesn't have to be completely classless. Captain's is proof that if you want to make a quick buck Downriver as a business, don't bother offering great food and craft beer, but rather give the people what they want: Bud Light in solo cups and a platform to be a complete idiot.

They did a great job handing me beers with my lady associate. The prices were great and there was a good crowd for a Sunday night.

A fairly new spot in downtown Wyandotte, and we decided to try it out while the street fair was going on. There was no wait and we were able to sit outside in the patio area. The patio Area is nice, it's a good use of space so even though it isn't very large you don't feel cramped and can't overhear other tables conversations. The one drawback was people from the bar next door were smoking very close to Captain's patio, and it was annoying to have smoke blown in our direction. Thankfully the smokers were not there the entire meal. The menu is very limited in vegetarian options. The appetizer area was really lacking- this is generally my go to area to find meat free options such as cheese quesadillas, cheese sticks, onion rings, etc. The rest of the menu is the same way, many burgers and wraps. By including a veggie wrap option they could appeal to a large crowd. The beer list was also disappointing. Very few draft beers- bud/light, summer shandy, blue moon. When I asked about Michigan beers the server didn't know and had to go find out the answer (that's acceptable for a new establishment though). When we went they only had one Michigan beer (in a bottle) Wolverine, so I opted for a draft blue moon. I ordered the Caesar salad without chicken and extra croutons. The dressing was light but flavorful. I was very happy with the number of croutons. The person I was with ordered the Bison burger, and it was cooked to order and tasted great. It came with a good portion of fries. The layout is great, it's all open so even from the patio you can see the tvs inside. I counted 4 tvs, making this a great spot to watch a game and get a beer. Very cool design that allows it to be a sports bar but also a chill hangout for non sports enthusiasts- I spotted a juke box as well. It has a little maturing to do, but I am looking forward to going back again!

Good service, cold beer, comfortable setting, & outdoor patio makes a good combo for a place to hang.

Food is good since it's from smokies, service is okay, kinda had to wait a long time for drink refills and it was during lunch time..wasn't really busy. Kinda wish there was some booths this is my biggest complaint, always have to sit up on the high chairs, and that's not a benefit to a handicapped person either if they wanted to come in and eat and have a few cocktails....just something to think about maybe for the future..
