I grew up on those breadsticks and cheese dip. I now live in California and would love to have the recipe. Anyone have it?

For a place that is famous for its breadsticks, they sure don't care anymore. Just wait till you get a dry batch with no butter/oil on it, and try to enjoy it. You can't. Both times I ordered two dozen at once, they came out dry and flavorless. So everybody I got them for, didn't like them. I did call after the first time, genuinely concerned that the place is losing it. I let them know I would be back, I just wanted to give them a heads-up. Sure enough, it happened again. I don't go there that much, but it's been 50/50 for me over the last two years, and that's not enough to get excited about.

Breadsticks and cheese dip! I think everyone else said enough about that amazing combo. The pizza is good but sometimes they use ridiculous amounts of cheese, which may be a good thing for some people. I usually get lite cheese and its perfect. The subs are top notch and cheap (Club sub....do it). My only knock on this place is the fact that the rarely have coupons. Dont get me wrong, i dont mind paying a little for good, non corporate pizza, it would just nice to save a couple bucks here and there.

Most amazing breadsticks and garlic dip ever! My parents have been going here since the 80's I think?

The bread sticks and garlic cheese dip are the best I've had anywhere. They are exceptional. The pizza tastes like socks. The crust has no flavor, the toppings are mediocre, and the sauce (which is put on top of the cheese, but not chicago style - just weird style) is awful. Go for the bread sticks and cheese dip, skip the pizza. Also, they seem to attract a very trashy clientele - this has been true in all of their locations as they have moved several times over the years. I don't understand why, but it's true.

Anthony's has, hands down, the best breadsticks and cheese dip in the country.

Anthony's is a great place to go if you just need to grab something quick and you're in the mood for great pizza and awesome breadsticks with cheese dip. Both of those are to die for. It's conveniently located in a party store, so while you're waiting for your food, you can pick up other things as well. It used to be a little bit closer to my house but then they moved but are still relatively close so I could drive if I wanted to. The pizza is awesome because it's so thick and it's not overly greasy, either. The food is affordable and so is everything else in the party store.

Anthony's has been around Waterford ever since I can remember. From the outside it looks like your typical party store and once you go inside, it still looks like your typical party store. The magic here happens in the ovens in the back room. This place turns out some of the tastiest pizza and breadsticks you will ever have. The pizza squares have a fairly thick crispy crust, combine that with their sauce, cheese and pepperoni and you have a seriously good piece of pizza. The breadsticks are perfect and the best part of it all is the AWESOME cheese dip that comes with the breadsticks. The cheese dip is more of a white dip with what appears to be a base of cream cheese and sour cream rather than being cheddar cheese like some may assume. I have been ordering their "special" for years, which is a pizza square, breadsticks, and cheese dip. I was born and raised in Waterford and moved to DC a few years back and always crave Anthony's. It is always one of the first stops I make when I come back to Waterford. I love bringing out of state people here so they can marvel at our Michigan lingo. In DC (or most anywhere else in the country) a party store is a place where you buy balloons, tablecloths and party supplies...not beer, liquor and smokes. Cheese dip doesn't even exist elsewhere as far as I have seen, but if it did, I'm sure it would look like nacho cheese. And soda, not pop, is how people refer to soft drinks in most places. So you can imagine the confusion when I tell someone from out of state to go to the party store to get some pizza and breadsticks and don't forget the cheese dip and pop! My first day of work in DC, I actually asked a young guy I worked with "Where can I get some pop?". Instead of telling me where the nearest Coke machine is, he whispers to me "Man, you shouldn't go around telling people you smoke that stuff, you could get fired". He obviously mistook my "p" for a "t" and after I told him I meant soda and that I was from Michigan where we call it pop, we had a good laugh!

I found this place a few years ago. I see this place everyday when i drive by, but never decided to stop by for Pizza. I thought it was just your typical beer and wine store that sells pizza on the side. It's kind of like a hole in the wall, but after trying the pizza here, I was surpised how great the pizza is, and the sauce is excellent. Probably one of the best pizza place in town.

Just opened 11/22/11 in a new location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had this memory from childhood of my mother bringing home breadsticks and cheese dip from Anthony's party shoppe.....way back when they had a few locations....way back before everyone had cheese dip. About a year ago I decided to indulge my childhood memory and make the trek for some breadsticks from Anthony's. As I pull up, there was a crane taking down the sign....sigh. I missed the boat, on the very day the place closed..... But I saw on facebook that they reopened!!! So, I went straight there! I got a dozen stix and 2 sides of cheese dip. I recall they used to have decent pizza if you like deep dish or buona as they call it...I wanted to focus on the stix. Since they just opened the shelves and coolers are not completely stocked...hopefullly that is a work in progress. The dip is creamy, light and fluffy garlicky goodness. The sticks are firm on the outside and chewy inside...perfect. Love the garlic salt on the top...nicely bushed with oil or butter...not quite sure which. Yeah! Bonus they are ready as I walk in, no need to order ahead. They had a meal deal for stix, dip, and a pizza for like 4.99 Love that the new location is closer to my home... The canolis looked nice as well. Soda, chips, tobacco...no alcohol or liquor. Discover card not accepted, Visa is. Carry out, no tables inside.
