We decided to have a birthday dinner here. It was only my second time to a Red Lobster. I really enjoyed the coconut shrimp and parmigiano encrusted tilapia. The cheese biscuits are so addictive I think I could be happy just eating 5 biscuits and skipping the entrée. The wait staff was on top of things, very nice and the manager was working the room. It's nice to see that.

Went on a Saturday night about 8pm the place was about half empty. I was surprised it wasn't busier. We ordered our drinks and a coconut shrimp appetizer. That came in a very timely manner, we got our salads ate them and then waited close to 45 minutes for our dinner to come. Our waiter said that there was a problem with our lobster and came back several times to apologize while we were waiting for our food. He finally sent the manager over who said they would make an adjustment to our bill for the problems. We finally got our food which was average. Probably would of been better had we not waited so long. We get our bill and the only adjustment made to it was that we were not charged for our ice tea. All being said we were didn't get out of there till 9:45. I gave two stars because I did like the food and I felt sorry for our waiter it wasn't his fault the kitchen messed up our order. I would return one more time but if it happens again I will go somewhere else next time.

After a 10 minute wait for someone to even take our drink order (first clue to get out) we were very unimpressed with the quality of the food and overall dining experience. The Coconut Shrimp were good enough, but the rest of my meal was too heavy on bell peppers. But, the worst part of this experience (and the reason for a single star) is that two of my three kids got sick after we got home. We can only assume it was the ice cream that they both had. I called the restaurant and got an apology, but how you can you trust a place again after your family gets sick. Be warned!

This place is so bad. We were there on a Monday night and were put on a 40 minute wait. After 35 minutes of watching numerous customers leaving I figured we should have been seated by then. I got up and walked through the dining room to find no less than 7 tables available to be seated. I was seated when I asked the hostess what was taking so long. The food was one of the worse meals I have ever had. All of our deep fried shrimp Walts, hand breaded and coconut shrimp were dark looking as they were either over cooked or the grease hadn't been changed in the fryers. The shrimp scampi were some of the smallest shrimp I have ever seen. I have ordered this many times in the past and the size and quality were much better. When I brought this up to the manager she said that I ordered a different menu item before. I ordered the Monday and Tuesday shrimp lovers special. She tried to tell me that that last time I ordered that I must have ordered the create your own selection. I am sure I know what I ordered. It is the reason that I go there on a Monday or Tuesday. This will be the last time that we ever go to this location or maybe any Red Lobster at all. The only positive thing I can say was that our waitress Carla did a great job.

I hear a lot of bad things about this location and had some bad waitress, when coming here, but the food is always good and hot. But today we went there and the waitress Tish I think her name is, was the best ever!!!!! food was good and hot like always! Next time we will ask for her section! Keep up the good work girl!!!!!

This was not the dining experience I had planned. This place was functioning with a bar & grill atmosphere. It was so extremely loud, obnoxious people were ruining the dining experience, and the banter and uncouth edict of the women was disgusting. It's sad because our server was great! Wonderful personality and attentive. However, due to the noise he had to lean over our table just to hear. The food is over priced and looks microwaved. If it wasn't for the stupid bisquits....we would have just left.

Good News Darden Restaurants is selling off the Red Lobster Brand. This could mean, better food, and better service, but I doubt this branch will ever improve. Between the rude and inept attitude of the employees, the overpriced and never quite cooked right food I won't miss this one if it goes under. As a general rule I avoid chain restaurants like the plague and this place reinforces that. Hopefully they will bring in some new management, some employees with a better attitude and hopefully somebody who can cook without turning seafood into rubber and leaving a steak bleeding on a plate.

Mmmm, endless shrimp. :) the food is typical of any Red Lobster. Certainly not fine dining, but decent seafood for the price. And those cheesy biscuits...I think they sprinkle crack in them. Our server, Sarah, was friendly and very attentive to refilling our drinks, and getting our shrimp reorders. The food came out quickly, but unfortunately there were a few mistakes. I ordered rice as my side, and the portion I was given was probably a third the size of the rice on my friend's plate. The waitress noticed only when she put my plate down, and offered to bring me an additional side of rice. That never came. I was more concerned about chowing my shrimp, so I didn't bring it up. Also, we asked for another basket of biscuits, which also never came. Again...I ended up being so full of tasty shrimp that it wasn't the biggest deal. But still, 2 items promised and not delivered. My visit didn't really change my opinion of Red Lobster. But I think next time I return, I'll choose this location over the Madison Heights one.

A+ for waitstaff, D- for food quality, presentation and freshness. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Food quality was poor, tasteless, greasy and just flat out poor. Save your money and go elsewhere,

The service at this location is awful. It's not because of any individual, either. It's because none of the employees are empowered to do anything to help. We sat at the bar. Let me list off what went wrong: None of us ever got a drink refill Diner A never received his side Diner B got his crab legs 20 minutes late. Meal was already over Diner C's salmon was tasteless, rubbery, and overcooked We never got our cheesy biscuits until we were leaving. WAIT, LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN: The sole reason we CAME to Red Lobster was for the FUCKING CHEESY BISCUITS AND WE NEVER GOT THEM. The bartender was a bit inept, but in a goofy and loveable way. Check this, though: He was NOT ALLOWED TO GO INTO THE KITCHEN TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR SCREWED UP ORDERS. We actually witnessed the poor kid call into his headset several times: Kitchen, PLEASE bring out a side of broccoli to the bar. Kitchen, can I PLEASE get some cheddar biscuits. His hands were tied. This is why corporate restaurants suck. One star in all things; Red Lobster earns a second star SOLELY based on how goddamned delicious those crack-laced cheddar biscuits are. At the end of our debacle, our bartender gave up and risked the wrath of corporate overlords by going into the kitchen and marching out with some cheddar biscuits, which he wrapped up for us to go. He apologized and said he got in trouble for going back there, but he didn't care. PS: The clientele here is as described in other reviews: Giant families of many overweight people bringing dozens of screaming kids out for fine dining. The moms loudly drink hurricanes and daiquiris to escape momentarily whilst their brood gets crumbs everywhere. My hint? Avoid the morass and sit at the bar. End of story: You will spend a lot of money here to have what will probably be a shitty meal. But those cheddar biscuits will get you anyway.

I know I know... who reviews Red Lobster?? After all, most people already know it's the Burger King of the seafood chains... but, I just went there on Friday and I wanted to share my experience. Mind you, the only reason we went is because we were tipsy and it was in walking distance to my friend's house :) Never a good idea to go on a Friday night. The place was packed, and sounded similar to the Caesarland down the street.. I had to look around to make sure we were in the right building. WHY OH WHY do people bring their kids, their friends kids, nieces and nephews to a moderately priced seafood joint??? I dont know too many kids who like shrimp scampi, and all these kids running around were no different; hence, the running around. Ugh!! We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. I got some fruity concoction and was really happy when it showed up looking just like it did in the menu. It was strong too!! Thanks barlady!! We ordered the shrimp bruschetta app. It was pretty darn good!! The shrimp looked like lazy C's (this is what PROPER cooked shrimp should look like!!) and the bruschetta tasted fresh with lots of garlic and basil. While we munched on that we ordered our dinners. She doesn't like seafood so she got a steak, and I ordered the Woodgrilled shrimp, scallops, and chicken. The plates came pretty quick, but I think they're "wood fired" grill may have been up a lil too high. The shrimp were pretty good, well cooked, and the scallops... 2 out of 6 were like little rubber pucks but the other 4 were edible. But that chicken!!! That once-clucking-but-clucking-no-more chicken!! I feel bad when animals sacrifice their lives to be horrendously overcooked. The chicken was sawdust. AND, no seasoning on any of the proteins!! I guess they figure the "wood grill" will season the meat and fish for them, but it doesn't. Not at all. It came with wild rice... I have the same stuff in a box in my home cupboard. Shout out to Uncle Ben!!! So, once again, I paid too much for a pretty inadequate meal. Damn you Red Lobster!!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First off, I understand, it's Red Lobster. I'm not expecting Joe Muers here... but the way we were TREATED here was beyond inexcusable! Ok, so back in the day, my S/O and I used to eat at every Red Lobster... we even had our own favorite waitress at two different locations. We were young & dumb and I really didn't eat much seafood anyways (my how times have changed). So even though I don't expect Ocean Prime service, I know I can bring my child here (when he's being well-behaved) and still get some seafood. So it's April 5th... It's getting late, I don't feel like cooking and Lobsterfest is going on and I have a gift certificate for Darden restaurants I can use up. We decide to stop in. It's 20 minutes until close and the hostess is taking names, she tells me it will be 35 minutes. That's fine, as long as they are ok with seating people after close, I am as well. She hands me a "beeper" and we stand around. There is NO WHERE to sit in here... it's packed. So my S/O and friends go outside and decide to run to get gas really quick since we have a long wait. I wait inside with my son... we look at Lobsters... we talk... we wait... no one is moving. So I stand there amidst a bunch of people and security guard (yes, that should have been my first clue to turn around... why does this place have a security guard? Is it a nightclub? no. Is it in the 'hood? no. Is it even open after midnight? What's next... are they going to start checking my purse and patting me down?. ) wtf. I start to feel more like I'm in Secretary of State instead of a place to eat. So after 10 minutes, we decide to join the rest of the group outside. Of course, we have our pager with us to go off if it's time to eat and we wait another 15 minutes or so. Now it's 5 minutes after close and we make our way back in to the restaurant assuming we will be called soon. The security guard is letting people out and stops me and my son and says "We're closed". I explain we already have a beeper and are waiting for a table... and have been for iver 20 minutes. He says "I can't let you in." I hold up my beeper again so he can quit with the Top Flight Security routine and realize I'm not starting trouble but that my party and I are waiting for a seat. He again tells me that because I walked outside I voided my right to be seated. Are you kidding me??? I ask him why he or the hostess does not say this when I gave my name and wasted my time... he says "I didn't see you." {Wow - what are you here for again? I assume to "man the door"... or are you getting paid to daydream... or do you actually break up fights at this location? Maybe I should be glad I didn't get in... I might have gotten caught in some scuffle over the last Live Maine lobster or something@@). So as I'm standing there asking to speak to the hostess (someone who actually represents this company) and shocked that this place basically didn't want our business and could not just say "we want to go home and not seat you" the Blind Top Flight Security is shutting the door in my face (I had to ask twice to get my two year old out of the vestibule.). I understand restaurants close at a certain time, I understand kitchens stop taking orders at certain times, but say-so when I arrive. When you take my name and give me a seating time, I assume I am going to be sat. I don't give this location too much longer... if people who didn't know jack shit about good seafood and good service stop going here maybe they'll have to clean up or pack up. For those who are tired of the piss-poor service, mediocre food and ambiance I want to recommend Detroit Seafood Market downtown which has comparable prices and a WAY better place. It's worth the drive and not too far from Campus Martius. At least I can still use my g/c at another Darden place because I won't be back and I'll be telling everyone who opens their mouth about suggesting this location exactly why I won't be joining them. Edit to add: I did end up using my gift cert. at another Red Lobster location. While my experience wasn't nearly as bad as it was at this ghetto ass location, two of us got violently ill the following day with food poisoning (the only two in the party who ate the scallops). Stay far the f*ck away.

Quality dining is good but the hostess sucks. She did not pay attention to detail. I would've liked it if they knew how to control situations. I reserved for 4 and I said we had 2 more coming and they said I only reserved for 2 and 2 more. They also said that I made a "mistake" and I had to make another check in reservation which would have been a 2 hour wait. All in all I would have liked it if they handled the situation better.

I wish no stars was an option this place is ghetto as hell. I was the only white person there. Do yourself a favor and go to the one on hall road.

He food is good but nothing to write home about. We ate lunch here which was nice because it wasn't busy and the prices arnt too bad. I didn't have anything happen that I would say is bad but nothing particularly Wow either.

Unlike some of the previous reviewers, we had FANTASTIC service here. Our waitress Tasha mentioned she is also a trainer, so maybe that had something to do with it. She was very attentive and made sure we always had rolls and drink refills. The food itself was the usual for Red Lobster and did not disappoint. I would certainly return to this location based on the experiences from this visit.

Upon arriving we noticed for a Wednesday it was really busy. We sat and waited maybe 5 minutes before being sat at our table, our waitress, Myrtle was phenomenal! Very attentive and very friendly. Our food came out in a timely manner and hot. I look forward to going again and visiting Myrtle!
