This place is absolutely fantastic! The #16 is mind numbingly good! The breads are all made in house and the meat shaved fresh per order! The chipotle mayo that's on the #16 is soooo good you slather that on just about anything and you'll have a fantastic snack! They're only open until 3pm and get VERY busy around lunch so try to get here early if you can :) I would 100% recommend this place! Everything here is really good and a great deal for the quality and quantity you receive!

Great sandwiches and other deli items and I crave their egg salad sandwich. Very friendly people here and I've used their catering services before and would recommend them.

Subway, Jimmy Johns, Pot Belly and I'm hesitant to say even my own mother have nothing on the great lunch sandwiches made with love over at the Troy Deli. Absolutely outstanding from service, menu, and of course the end product... the sandwich. There is an extremely large amount of sandwiches offered as well as closer to 15 different kinds of breads made right there daily. The establishment absolutely has a positive vibe when it comes to the workers, all very friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are gigantic, a half stuffs me to the seams-Literally, I wear my clothes pretty tight! Whew! I love how I can see all the baked bread and people preparing my food in the back while waiting for my food. First time eating there, I ordered a half of their #1 Selection; which was stacked turkey, sprouts, avocado and cream cheese on multi grain bread. "SOO good" wouldn't even give it justice, basically there was a perfect amount of meat, sprouts, thickness of bread, avocado and a GENEROUS portion of cream cheese.. can I get a "hell yea" to that. I love cream cheese. Not only was the sandwich great but I was given a whole sandwich at a half sandwich price I realized when I got back to the office. All around great lunch spot... but this little gem isn't open very much, mostly for the corporate lunch world like myself. They close at 3pm M-F and I am pretty sure are not open on the weekends at all. Give yourself more than 30 minutes to dine here, the menu can be quite overwhelming but having lots of choices is never a bad thing for your stomach...only for your dwindling lunch hour.

As mentioned before, HUGE sandwiches. You could share their "half" size sandwich with another person and both of you would be full. It's so big they cut it in half. If you get a full you're set for lunch and dinner. Yummy and soo many options. Staff is always very courteous and friendly. My only complaint is the lack of nutritional info. I really wish more places would start doing that even when they are not legally obligated to do so. But I have this complaint about every establishment that fails to provide the nutrition so I won't hold this against them! ;)

You don't see too many restaurants like the Troy Deli anymore. Family restaurants that make their own food, bake their own bread, and are open only until 3 p.m. .... But the restaurant hours aside this place is freakin amazing! I can vouch whole heartedly for the #16 the spicy turkey and the #33 the healthy choice (also turkey based). I'm sure all the other sandwiches in the shop are good too but you can't go wrong with the 16 or the 33. love this restaurant. BTW the sandwiches are HUGE! A half is more than enough for lunch and a full can feed 2 people. Enjoy!

Another great Troy establishment...I love this place. The sandwiches are always made fresh, they are cheap and large. Get the full (which is actually two sandwiches) and take the second one home to eat later. I always try to branch out and try a new one but I tend to stick to the staples. I have never had one I didn't enjoy. If you live or work in Troy, head here for lunch or order it to the office. Sucks that they close in the early afternoon. Also sucks that I dont live anywhere near here anymore.

Troy deli has great salads, generous portions for not a lot of money. If you work in troy, skip the expensive weigh and pay salad bars in the area, and go to TD for lunch!

After reading the reviews I had high expectations for this place and it definitely delivered! The #1 was great and it was a battle to finish since it was a pretty giant sandwich, after looking at the menu there are about 20 other things I would like to try. This place seems to be the real deal and their prices are also very reasonable. Troy Deli, I applaude you for providing me with a much needed delicious meal after a bad streak of eating average to below average food.

The menu is huge! If you can't find something to eat here then your to picky and you will never be satisfies. The sandwiches are great and you definitely get your money's worth. I had the #9 (old blue eyes) the peppers on the sub gave it just enough kick and the bread was very good. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I will be frequenting this place often to try and tackle the menu.

The quality is as good as it gets. We got hooked back in '07 when I worked in Troy. The office crew would go over 1-2 a week. Sampling and getting a new sandwich (out of like 50...) every time is hard when they're so good. The horseradish mayo, or one of their cream cheese spreads is so good, any pastrami or corned beef sandy too. Portions are HUGE, prices a bit high, but you more than get what you pay for. Staff is alwasy friendly and fast, though it gets jam packed in there at lunch. My only negative is the hours. I live quite far, and I dont mind driving for it, but its like 7a-3pm??? Id be going for some night time subs much more often. One of my all time favorites- Troy Deli.

I just don't like it... I've been multiple times at lunch with coworkers and I was never pleased. They were every time though, which to me is inexplicable. It's always busy and we had to wait in line to order sandwiches. This would be acceptable to me if the food was good, but mine was always bad. The menu does not differentiate between hot and cold sandwiches. The cold sandwiches are served on a large bun which is apparently (per my coworkers) quite good. The hot sandwiches are served on a smaller plain white bread bun, which is not very good. Somehow I managed to order a hot sandwich every time. I'm not certain, but I believe all of the sandwiches with veggies are cold and all of them with a sauce are hot. I like sauces, but I do not like mediocre sandwiches, so I will not be back. I honestly prefer quiznos or jimmy johns over Troy Deli anyday, but if you're in the area and looking for a good sandwich I highly recommend Al's Famous Deli or the Onion Roll, both on Woodward in Royal Oak.

So many sandwiches to choose from so little time. Great selection of fresh made to order deli but borderline gourmet sandwiches and salads. Very friendly, helpful and patient staff. I say patient because it's sometimes hard to decide. Modest prices but kinda weak hours. They close after lunch so get there by 3pm.

Pretty yummy sandwiches, they are crazy big. In fact, the chicken salad sandwich that I ordered came as 2 separate sandwiches. Not really sure why. But, good none-the-less. I do think that the menu is way too big. Was hard to decide!

The other reviews are definitely right on. This is one of the better deli sandwich's I have ever had. The menu is over whelming with all the different options, after I ordered I seen about 10 other sandwich's I want to try. I completely under estimated the size of the whole sand which, it was much bigger than I thought it would be. Very friendly staff and extremely good sandwich's. This will be a place I definitely frequent for lunch's.

Just make sure to avoid the lunch rush and you'll be good, but don't come too late because they close at 3. I really appreciate the way they pack your sub for a takeout order. Not only is it in a white paper sleeve, but it's then on a foam plate and then wrapped it tightly with a plastic wrap, ensuring that your sandwich is fully intact as you take it to go. The gyro is simply phenomenal. Five big pieces of lamb, with tomatoes, lettuce and a refreshing and light cucumber dressing that brought it all together. The best part is the slightly rising heat from the lamb thanks to the spices on the lamb. The pita is so soft and warm. Yum.

Delicious food! I went with the Spicy Turkey and Chicken Dumpling soup. Not suree which I liked more because both were incredible. The only knock I have against the place is that the atmosphere and ambiance inside is dreary, flat and too much like a cafeteria. The old 21" tube TV sitting awkwardly on top the Snapple fridge and set to some midday talk show I'd never heard of didn't help either.

Used them many times for lunch for the office. Had a couple issues with them delivering extremely late. We tried again today and they did a good job. Let's get down to the real reason... I really love this place if you are looking for a sandwich. They have many choices for all. They use bread that is amazing and not sure if made in house or brought in but makes the sandwich that much delicious. A little more expensive but worth it. Soups are also good. We always order it delivered so I have never been to the location but I would go there often if it was close to home.

Would be a 5 star, because the spicy turkey is really good, but it's a 3 because of the service. A friend and I were eating and in a conversation and we were kicked out before the store even closed because they were "closing soon" they close at 3pm which is an odd time, overall food is good, but they kicked us out which drops them down to a 3 star

I thought the place was closed when I walked in. I tried it anyway. Seems like it is about to go out of business. Pastrami should be warm on rye with the cole slaw and russian. Instead it was all cooked as one on the flat top. Pickles are ala carte and you get a ton for 65 cents. It was weird. Pastrami was chewy. A Whole sandwich is really two small ones. Very strange.

Best sub I have had in a while. #9 is a classic Italian with all the good fresh ingredients that the chains don't have.. Service is friendly and fast..

Troy Deli is amazing! It may not look like much from outside (or inside, even) but their sandwiches are delicious. I'm a fan of the Garden Party. Swiss & American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumbers, cream cheese, avocado, sprouts and mayo on veggie bread. Yum! The portions are large, so save half for dinner. You are doing yourself a great disservice if you still eat Panera when Troy Deli is in town. I just wish they were open later.

Great service, great variety...but man...there is WAY too much bread going on here! Not sure if it's a local preference, but I found the bread to be way too thick, dense and overwhelming for the fresh and flavorful goodies inside.

Nondescript building a retail center doesn't do The Troy Deli justice. I had one of the best sandwiches in recent memory, in fact their menu board showed the #25 Turkey Sandwich is "unforgettable".

Best Deli around! I don't think they make a bad sandwich and they have something for everyone! I highly recommend it! :)

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I can't review the Orchid Cafe, which is right next door, without reviewing Troy Deli. But I'll make it short. As people are Yelping, the sandwiches are huge. And they are, indeed, kept in place with plastic wrap and foam bottoms (minor complaint: I always dine in, and they ask you, so no real reason to wrap my sammy like a mummy cuz I'm just walking to the table, but once again I digress). I've tried maybe half a dozen sandwiches and all were good and filling. I'm a big onions girl, and many of the sammies here have sweet red onions. The breads/rolls are always soft and fresh. The drink sizes are ample. Tables are far enough apart that you don't feel like you're sharing a meal with the person next to you. It's noisy but that's OK; I usually bring a newspaper or such to read and I just block it all out. Maybe a tad pricey, only because if you add a salad or a side, you're looking at close to $12, if not more. Little expensive for a sandwich-oriented lunch. But they do know how to make sandwiches at the Troy Deli!!

This is by far the best place to eat lunch in Troy, but they close at 3pm. You only need to order a half of a sandwich or else you will be taking the rest home. It is such a good deal for the quality of food that you receive. Plus, it is locally owned.

The sandwiches are really good. 76 varieties to choose from is more than enough options for anyone. I think it was overhyped by my friends and co-workers, hence the 4 stars. I think I was expecting a Katz deli type of place. Like I said, good sammiches and definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area.

LOOVVEE this place! I always get the #1.... its the best! The Sandwiches are HUGE! you defiantly get your money's worth! They are not open on the wekends tho... usually always busy and you have to wait for sandwhich for about 20 mins... but it is worth the wait!
