Love me some Panda Express! The customer service is fantastic and they are super friendly! They always seem to give me a free drink whenever I have to wait for a certain entree.

Let's be real hear. You know what you're getting yourself into. You're at a mall eating Chinese food. That being said, Panda Express is THE premiere mall Chinese food in the world. Wether you're into spicy or sweet, they've got you covered. Only problem is they took away my favorite, mandarin chicken. Still doesn't sway my 5 star vote.

Panda Express... how damn tasty you are. I mean, it might come off as a generic Chinese food place in the mall.. but how great it really is. Orange chicken... yes, I know its simple... yes I know its just deep fried chicken... but damn is it just amazing. The chow mein is pretty tasty as well, and to be honest... its just a mix of deep fried wonderfulness. And always be on the watchout, if they don't give you a receipt for your food.... its free!

Ahhh, Panda. A name synonymous with mall food court Fast "chinese" Food since the mid-80's. A Chinese place from which your food should always be eaten with a fork, because it is so Americanized that it would be offensive to the people of Asia to touch it with a pair of chopsticks. A restaurant whose dubious sauces contain enough MSG and unpronounceable preservatives that they probably could strip the varnish from a boat deck. All that being said... if you're willing to accept it for what it is, and nothing more, Panda Express is actually not bad. Not bad at all, in fact. Just don't try to pretend you're eating a quality Chinese meal; set your expectations appropriately, and you should be a-ok. Furthermore, I have a confession to make. I am mildly obsessed with Panda's chow mein noodle side dish. It is a bit over-oily without quite being slimy, tastes salty and sesamy (is that a word?), and has just the right amount of crunch from the added cabbage and celery. It is not exactly GOOD, but tastes good (if that makes any sense). Call it a guilty pleasure? When I do wind up at Panda Express, it is typically not because of the Orange Chicken or Bejing Beef (though both are tasty enough in their own fashion). It is because some primal part of my being starts to yearn for the greasy goodness of their chow mein, with just a bit of soy sauce drizzled over the top. When I eat it I am happy, and feel just a little bit guilty, but mostly happy. And then a few months go by before I once again get the uncontrollable urge. They must put some trace amounts of a rare essential mineral in there, hence the randomized but well-spaced cravings. Whatever it is, I like it. Did I mention I am mildly obsessed?

Some of the best mall Chinese I've ever had, which sounds like it isn't a very big compliment though it definitely is! I always come here when I can. The food tastes like chain food which is a treat sometimes when you're in the mood for something that tastes... I dunno, consistently good and easily palatable. A little pricey for what you get but I find this to be typical for mall food. The portions are big as well, you would have to be pretty hungry to finish it all (if you get the two meat options). I wish they could give you a rangoon or egg roll with the meal though, that would be nice..3.5.

Its always a hit and miss with this place. Prices are fair but food is either great of bad.

I am always a big fan of Panda Express but the service from this location was the worst I've had. I waited a good 8-10 minutes for them to cook the noodles and mushroom chicken, and 3-4 minutes before they handed me the foods I heard the girl saying to the manager "Is the mushroom chicken done?" and the manager said "I didn't hear you ask me to cook it." There wasn't really a line, and the girls were just chatting instead of making sure they could get me the foods ASAP. I've been to many other locations of Panda Express and I was always happy with their service. However I was very upset with this particular location.

When looking for a Panda Express I was more than happy to find one around the corner, right in Oakland Mall's food court. I always have chow mein with orange chicken, and it was delish as usual. I also had the shrimps, and they were great too. I mean, it's chain food in a food court, but I still love it. Staff was nice, and I got a free entree for a code I got on their website for a review. Recommended!

Oakland Mall might be on life support... But Panda Express has been an institution of this shopping mall's depressing food court for many years and it's still going strong! I made a nostalgic visit this afternoon and enjoyed some freshly prepared lunch. It's pretty awesome that they have a couple cooks working those gigantic woks for all to see. The tasty Lo Mein or Fried Rice goes great with their classic Orange Chicken, Kung Pao or Beef Steak. Plus, you can't forget the fortune cookie to end the meal! And the little Asian ladies working there are cuter than Pikachu!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city.
