We never got to experience the slow service because they would not even allow the possibility of seating a table of 6. Obviously there can only be a maximum of 5 people in any group setting in this establishment. No possibility of pushing chairs or heaven forbid a table together. The staff had an attitude that screamed that I do not want money or repeating customers. The cherry on top was that we walked past only a couple of hours later to find a large party of at least 10 sitting outside with tables pushed together. Do not go here unless you like be treated poorly.
Solid breakfast food. We had the biscuits and gravy and the egg sandwich. The egg sandwich came with breakfast potatoes which was THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD, FOR REAL. They were very flavorful, crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, with time and Parmesan. The biscuits and gravy weren't the best ever, but definitely edible. The whole meal was very affordable. We were pretty happy with our random stop.
What a little gem. I had to wait for a flat tire to be fixed around the corner last summer (July) and lucky for me discovered this place. I had the banana strawberry French toast which was absolutely delicious to eye and taste buds. Coffee was terrific as well and I'm not much on coffee. I was there early and during the week so very quiet. I will definitely plan to go back. Don't recall the menu being very extensive but it's a great local Bistro with just the right things on the menu. Not sure what weekend crowd would be like.

I love Viola's we go there all the time when we are in New Buffalo for the weekend.. The staff is great, never had a problem with them being slow. Christine the owner is great her husband is the chef and he is just as friendly. I disagree with the person who said Baileys is better. Bailey's is terrible oh by the way they must not have been really good they are CLOSED!
This is a decent breakfast and lunch place. My meals there have been good if not remarkable. They do have good biscuits and gravy. Service can be slow if they are crowded. And on Sunday (which would normally be a big day in a tourist-heavy area such as this), they close at 1:00 p.m. - I would think they would take advantage of the available lunch business. All in all, not a bad place, but Bailey's down the street is better.
Great place for breakfast. We went on s Sunday morning and had a bit of a wait - well worth it! Unfortunately they had run out of biscuits and gravy which was what I was looking forward to but went with eggs Benedict and was not disappointed. If we are in the area again this will be our goto breakfast place.

Local bar in a nice little town that I assume is mostly a local hangout. Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The bartender/waitress had to be the most rude, bigoted, unfriendly server I've encountered in my entire life. Diversity apparently is not in her vocabulary. I was there with my girlfriend and 2 of my adult kids. My daughters boyfriend, who is black, was with us as well. We walked in and got a taste of what it's like in the deep south. We just were there to get out of the 90 heat and have a cold one. Three Oaks should be embarrassed that this place is in their town. it's basically a quaint resort town that caters to vacationers. A lot of great antique, vintage clothing, cafe's, and galleries. The waitress acted so mean while she served us. At one point I asked her in a concerned tone if there was something wrong after she snapped at us the 3rd time. She snapped back again that she was on pain killers. I should have told her to take a few more so she could have a smile on her face. After our beer she never came back to the table. I went to the bar to pay the check and she made me stand there nearly 5 minutes while she sat at another table talking to another customer. I did notice that she had no problem smiling while talking at the table with the other customer. Stay away.
We were just at Nelson's while visiting Three Oaks for the Inside Out Festival. We thought we would go into this bar for a beer. We were pleasantly surprised at the look of the place when we walked in and decided to get some lemonade at the bar. There were very cute booths along one wall and people were ordering burgers that looked good. My husband decided to get some chicken and dumpling soup since he was feeling a bit under the weather. The bartender told us that the soup was really good and it did not disappoint. My husband loved it. Our experience was far different from the first reviewer since the bartender was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back to try the burgers and home maid pie.
A refreshingly normal place surrounded by an accelerating twatfest. If you don't like Nelson's, you are part of the problem. Sorry dickheads, but you will never find a better burger for the price. The meat is as fresh as it gets, local as hell, and perfectly cooked. I usually order a bacon double cheeseburger with fries. Every time, the burger is so juicy it drips all over the fries, turning them into some kind of poutine. It is very tasty. They have all kinds of other crap to eat too. The internet jukebox is a kind I've never seen anywhere else, and has all kinds of obscure shit available that you just cannot get on TouchTunes. So you can eat your incredibly delicious and affordable burger while jamming out to Rien Ne Va Plus by Funk Factory. If the somewhat yoklish staff bristles at your selection, empathy is more applicable than whatever cuntish reaction would lead you to vent on Yelp. Just throw a couple of decent old country tunes into the mix. The beer selection is ok. Craft beers are limited to Bell's 2 Hearted and Round Barn Kolsch. Mostly Busch and crap like that. But that's fine though, Right? All those hoppy overpriced beers are causing you to develop breasts and a rudimentary vagina underneath your scroad.
