This place is great! It has a great environment, and a drive through for those speedy meal days. I go every time I'm in Michigan and I love it! My friend could not be happier, she gobbled down her entire bread bowl in one bite under 5 min. (This is no lie) I would recommend this place to all my peers and anyone else who looks for a great hardy meal.

10 minutes and counting for a breakfast sandwich. Same thing last time I was here. Slowwwww.

Raise your hand if you have NEVER gone to a Panera Bread. If you are a person to agree, then you MUST go and visit one ASAP. Panera Bread has always been a favorite spot of mine for a cafe. It has never failed me in times when I needed a simple fix, a quick in-and-out, or even speedy coffee service. Not only can you walk in and place some change into a tin to get some coffee, but service there is quite pleasing. When you first walk in, you instantaneously notice the serene atmosphere of this cafe. At this specific location, a co-worker and I had to make a pit-stop as we were heading to Lansing, MI for work. I went to try for the first time a Frozen Caramel.ooOOoo *Drool* The advertisement not only made me get it even more, but it was a nice hot sunny day as well so why not?! Let me tell you, Starbucks Frappuccino has got NOTHING on this drink. Plus, it's cheaper than Starbucks. The other thing that I love about Panera is that when you're trying to do a quick in-and-out just to get coffee, they have the best system (not sure if they still implement it or not). They have a tin can that you can just deposit $1.50 in, and grab the cup (sitting outside) and just get your coffee. Though this entails you to be on the honest system, why would anyone have to cheat the system here? Anyhow, my quick fix for that hot sunny day has made me realize that I'm always going to revisit Panera Bread all over just to get a Frozen Caramel on any day throughout the summer. I also added a Chopped Chicken Cobb salad, again, a first time. It was wonderful. The ingredient inside were fresh and that's one thing that I've always noticed and enjoyed. Forget McD's quick salads!

I am an avid Panera visitor and usually look at this establishment as a restaurant that you can't go wrong with, but this location really proved me wrong. I went with one other person and we both ordered the You Pick Two. I ordered the Tomato Mozzarella Panini with Mac and Cheese and my fiance ordered the Frontega Chicken with Broccoli Cheddar Soup. The tomato mozz sandwich was BAD. Extremely salty (which I've never experienced at any other location. The mac and cheese (normally my fave item at Panera), was inedible. Not only was it overcooked, but there was a piece of plastic in it (presumably from the wrapper the cheese comes in). The frontega chicken sandwich was "not saucy enough", per my fiance. The only decent item we ordered was the broccoli chedd soup. Pathetic.

There is also an amazing sesame chicken salad that is so filled with flavor its unreal! The atmosphere is home-like and delicious smells make your mouth water! This is MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!! You need to go! Yes.... it is a NEED! ;)

A Panera is a Panera, right? From place to place, you know pretty much exactly what to expect, from the menu to the decor. I generally like Paneras -- the free wi-fi doesn't hurt. When you're on the road or in a hurry, you know you can get some decent soup and a sandwich or salad that's at least OK, and a lot of times just plain tasty. But why bother to write about a specific Panera? Why would this particular one get 4 instead of just 3 stars? Well, because it's a haven for road-trippers just like myself. The location of this particular Panera (off exit 27 on I-94) is just about perfect. If you're coming from Ann Arbor or East Lansing on your way to Chicago, this is a little bit more than the halfway point on your drive. Sure, there are truck stops aplenty along this corridor, but I wouldn't really want to get a salad there. Would they offer quick and free wi-fi? Maybe. Clean bathrooms? That's a bigger question mark. I've done this circuit many, many times, and so knowing that there's a little glowing beacon of hot chai with a clean bathroom is a great comfort. It's a perfect place to do the ol' driver-switch. It nailed that extra star by serving as a welcome shelter/break from sliding through "lake-effect" snow on a particularly treacherous drive last winter.

They forgot to give us our kids meal, the manager tried to deny it until we showed them our receipt (staff corroborated our story), stalish pastries, no soap in the bathroom and the towel dispenser was broken. Cashiers were nice and the eating area was clean. Freshly cooked food was good - I had the Cuban Sandwich . Blame the unstocked (no soap, no towels) men's room for two stars.

Panera offer good sandwiches, nice soups & often pretty decent salads. all in a clean well light environment with free wifi & if you drive often from Detroit to Chicago as i do this is a welcome alternative to Junk food. Just about the half way point it is my fav place to break the journey

I don't like going here at lunch, your sandwich, which is supposed to be a panini, is never done. I think they rush the sandwiches in the machine. and you can never find a clean table, floors are dirty.

I'm literally the only person in the drive-through. I ordered one thing, a coffee. When I got to the window, it was not ready, nor was anyone even at the window. Finally when a girl came, she was friendly enough, but this particular location is consistently slow and unprepared. Oh, and they gave me the wrong drink, which I discovered only after I was halfway down the freeway. So...

WEIRD and CREEPY. No pastries No fruit Nothing fresh. Everyone in the store was looking at my husband and I like we had 3 heads.... Dirty dishes piled everywhere (no bush tubs in sight) Truly felt like I was in the twilight zone.

Completely disorganized. Was a line out the door and there's no one at the register. Ordered a strawberry smoothie with my meal. It never arrived despite asking over three times. We overheard the girls discussing who wants to make a smoothie? Nobody was interested in making a smoothie. At the end of my visit to the smoothie finally arrived. It was liquid like strawberry milk. I had to wait in line 10 minutes in order to get a refund and the manager acted as though I was overreacting. Will never come here again! The employees had gauges, off color hair, and bad attitudes. Very unprofessional.

Always slow. Can't order a latte and get it within 10 minutes. Worse yet had the server tell me they were out of mix for the latte. Mix! No expresso. I can get mix at a gas station. If there was a decent coffee house at this end of town, panera would serve very little coffee. I'm not a fan of their food as the breads are too hard/stale for my liking. Even the pastries and bagels are very hard without sticking in the microwave to warm and soften.

Stopped here on our way home from Chicago last night. They forgot a side for one order , forgot chipotle mayo on both Sierra turkey sandwiches - making for pretty dry sandwiches. Forgot the water we ordered. Took 12 minutes to get the food. The wait staff were all concentrating on who was supposed to go on break. We enjoy Panera. Not sure if we will stop at this store again.

Fast and friendly!! Staff is fantastic, food is awesome. Clean establishment as well. I really like the pastries here and the Asian salad, cobb salad, and soups are so delicious!!! I love Panera!!

This is the worst Panera I have ever been to. Been here 3 times and each time have had to wait more then 30 minutes just to order. Went to the drive thru today and it was worse! Not enough staff and time management is not a priority, clearly. Won't ever go back to this one.

I'm such a fan of this joint. It's just an overall great place for so many reasons. The drive thru option, the rapid pickup, the table service, the reward perks, and the list goes on. The staff is usually friendly and most importantly my food tastes like food: fresh and good. My favorites are the breakfast soufflés and the Mediterranean Veggie. I also enjoy the smoothies but depending on who makes them and the ratios used it can be a hit or miss. I've been here a bunch of times and I'll be back again.

We will never ho back here again. What used to be a fast trip has now turned into a 45 minute ordeal. They have no idea what they're doing. Mistakes left and right and it took 15 min to order and another 15 minutes for our food. No longer our stop in Michigan!

Understaff, slow and missing essential items like bread bowls at dinner time. I ordered a mocha and 3 people who ordered before me got food.. Then my mocha was struggling...

This Panera is unique because of its location. Right off of a highway exit on the frequented I-94 stretch between Chicago and Detroit, makes this a convenient half-way point for a bathroom break and guaranteed quality food, unlike those sketchy gas station diners. Beware of long lines, which typically form because of all the commuters. However, the popularity of this specific Panera allows it to kind of try out what the rest of the chain could eventually inherit. For example, this location was where I received my Panera frequent customer card and I did not see other Paneras promote this until months later. On this most recent visit, I was treated to "table side service." The cashier informed me that this and a couple other locations in Michigan began offering the ability to serve food at the table rather than having the customer pick it up at the counter. Food is predictable, as it is and should be with a chain, except for seasonal specials. I personally always go for the U pick 2 because I like variety. I also opt for the whole grain bread or apple on the side instead of the French baguette and ask for the dressing on the side to make a healthy meal. For this particular visit, I ordered the turkey apple Fuji salad with creamy tomato soup and an apple. I realized (after the "server" left) I needed to go back to the counter to get the forgotten salad dressing that I asked to be on the side, but other than that, the food was as expected - fresh yet quick.

Have always had bad experiences at Panera. While the food is always good rarely is your To go order correct. Last three visits they either left a sandwich or salad out of order so had to track back to get corrected. Not that I deserve special service or free food . But they aren't exactly giving gas away these days and a 27 dollar order turns to approx. 31 dollars with adding a gallon of fuel to cost. With this being said I personally will pursue another soup and salad location.

I'm beginning to love Panera. I have only had a sandwich once, when they first started coming around, but now I'm stuck on their chicken poppyseed strawberry salad, and their cinimmon crunch bagel. I also like how they give you a "side" of cream cheese, and don't put it on the bagel, like Tim Hortons does. I stopped here as others do, when going from Detroit to Chicago. It was crowded, but it was lunchtime, and the line went fast. Also picked up cookies for the road! It's a good stop

Asked to "hold one moment" at the drive thru...SIX MINUTES later, I tried ordering 2 bread bowls (7:30pm, Wed. Oct. 1st). I was told they were sold out. Okay, I'll get 2 you-pick-two's with baguettes. I was told they're ALSO out of baguettes. Like...how? It's Panera. I'm only willing to pay for over-priced food in order to GET the bread. I didn't order anything, and went home empty handed. I'm sure the FOUR cars behind me waiting to order probably felt much of the same. Get it together, Panera in St. Joe, MI.

This is the nicest Panera I've ever been to. Giant building, stylized outside and great service. They actually bring you your food (unlike at other Paneras where you have to pick up your food at the counter) and ask if you need anything else, then bus your table. It's a bit of a combination between a restaurant and a deli in this regard. My dining companion has food sensitivities and the staff here was happy to accommodate the restrictions. Also, the outdoor seating was lovely.

Saturday morning here not good. I love Panera and have been happy and loyal. This bakery has the cashiers bussing the tables and changing the urns in b/w customers who have been standing, waiting for more than 12 minutes. Wi-fi is weak; bathrooms untidy.

I second the reviews that comment on how easy it is to pop off and back on I-94 at exit 27 for this Panera Bread location. It is also a welcome a relief from fast foods on what, for us, is a 22 hour trip over two days. Friendly staff seeks to be helpful. My wife ordered 1/2 sandwich and I didn't realize they had charged us for a whole until it was delivered. The person who delivered it to the table reported it to the manager before my wife could get back to the cash register and the manager was already getting out a refund but told my wife to go ahead and take the other half with her. We have been fans of Panera Bread since it started in St Louis, Mo as the St Louis Bread Company many years ago. This location is a stalwart addition to what is now a large, successful chain.

This Panera was a welcome break from fast food on my trip from Chicago to Detroit. The staff was friendly, the tables were clean and the restrooms were very clean. My sandwich was okay. The asiago focaccia was a bit bubbly, which indicated old dough. But I was in foreign territory, so I didn't say a anything. It tasted fine so what the hey. The croutons in my soup were a bit stale but I let it slide. Everything else tasted fine, It seems they get a lot of tourists in this location. Even so, the employees I interacted with treated me as a regular. I liked this place because of that.

Soup and sandwich. What made this one stand out is the staff. I was there several times a week for several weeks doing "computer stuff" and eating lunch. They sorta got used to me and an occasional Green Iced tea would show up much appreciated.
