Excellent! Friday night is a great time to visit. Fish is incredible. Make sure you ask to meet Fred. We are visiting from St. Louis, MO and asked the owners of the Boardwalk Inn where to eat - Boy were they right!
Went here tonight after reading reviews about local areas and places that locals go which were really good. We had the white fish dinner which came with a salad a baked potato and had a couple of draft beers which were on special. Prices are real reasonable and the food is fantastic. The owner Fred came to our table and we talked for some time about his entire past and how the restaurant got started. If you are in the area and you don't come here you are missing one of the best places in the u.p. Very seldom do I speak this highly about a place you have my guarantee it is the best restaurant in St Ignace Michigan. Fred will be there when you go and if you aren't satisfied just let him know.
Came here tonight after being at the falls. We were so tired of all the touristy places in Mackinaw City. This was quite the find! The food was great and the service was awesome. On TripAdvisor some say don't let the outside fool you and they would be right. Fred stood and talked to us for quite some time. Wanda was incredibly busy but always had a smile and was customer service driven. I believe the other woman there was Candy and it was her first night on the job but she was great too. We ended up staying for a couple of hours just because we enjoyed talking to Fred and some of the locals. In fact they treated us like they'd known us forever. We'll be back to Mack City at some point and will be back without a doubt :)
All 7 of us (5 kids 2 adults) love this pizza. Both the stuffed crust and hand tossed crust were tremendous. If you are in St. Ignace and looking for pizza this is the place to go!
Great pizza, super crust with good toppings. Prompt delivery. We had a meat man, veggie, and ham/pineapple. The meat man was super. It was well covered with toppings as well as the ham/pineapple. The veggie could have used a few more veggies but it was still very good. I searched Yelp for all St. Ignace pizza first and ordered based on Yelp reviews. Nice work fellow Yelpers!
We looked at other reviews. Saw that they had good reviews so we decided to give them a try. Very pleased. Pizza was very good. If you want a good take out pizza place you cannot go wrong with Pizza Builders.
I stopped by Jose's a few days ago after an 80 mile bike ride through the remarkably well maintained paved roads of the upper peninsula. With my ravenous appetite, I chose the most expensive thing on the menu: the Beef Combination Plate. It ranks among the best Mexican food that I've ever had. The only demerits about this place are that they only have one kind of salsa: pico de gallo. I would have preferred something spicier. The service was kinda slow in getting my bill to me too, but that might say more about me than about the restaurant. All things considered, I eagerly look forward to hitting this place again the next time I visit the UP.
Great place in St Ignace. The food was tasty (try the tilapia dinner) and the decor is festive. Our waitress was very nice but not very speedy (we had to ask for water 3 times). The owner, Joe, came over to greet us and made us feel at home. Great Mexican food!
I left the St. Ignace Indian Casino and felt a little famished. So decided to try the Sweet Potato Burrito at Jose's as mentioned in other reviews. I wasn't too crazy about the flavor combination, but it was OK after I got used to it. Some of the other items may have been more to my liking. The chips were warm and the salsa was OK. To make it spicier you had to add hot sauce from a selection at your table. The service was OK even if she did disappear quite frequently. Finally, the view of Lake Huron was detracted by either heavy condensation or bugs and other window "Klingon's" or a muddy looking streak right down the middle. I'm being generous with 3 stars. I probably will dine on the local Pasties or Whitefish the next time I'm looking for a meal in the Straits of Mackinaw area.
