Panera bread is a place I choose to eat at when there's nothing but places I'm skeptical about to pick from. I have to say their meal selections are much better than your average sandwich place. They have a lot of variety and much healthier options than most restaurants today. They use much healthier ingredients that come much fresher than most places. The issue I have is that you get more fillers and bread instead of meat in any meal there. The prices are outrageous when you're paying for fillers and literally a half of a chicken breast if you're lucky. Ten dollars for a sandwich without a drink and without a pastry?? Oh but you can add a pastry for 99 cents. Another couple bucks for a drink you're looking at 13 dollars before you call it a day. Cinnamon crunch bagel is the only thing worth purchasing here, very delicious!

This place sucks!! Came here after church, 8/9/15. The service was SLOW and the team seemed discombobulated. The saving grace was our cashier gave us an additional scone; however, the team and restaurant need an upgrade...STAT!!!

I have a love hate relationship with this place. I really like Panera's menu dejection, I don't like, however, when things aren't available from the menu. That seems to be the case every time I go to this particular Panera. If they had the ingredients to the things I liked when I come into the restaurant then I would have no problems. Now I just go to the Lathrup Village location.

I decided to go to Panera Bread today because I had a gift card burning a hole in my wallet. The line was to the door. We didn't move at all for almost 5 minutes. I went to the bathroom, hoping for a shorter line when I got out. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine and coffee - enough to make me not want to eat anymore. I won't be back - unless I decide to use this as a diet tool to kill hunger pangs.

I've spent quite some hours here working on lesson plans, completing grad school hw against a tight deadline, and just hanging out with friends. FREE wifi, great coffee, fast and friendly service, and they always get my order right. Get the Panera Rewards card to get perks! I just got a free pastry yesterday :)

My company orders from this store regularly, but we are going to be switching to the other Southfield location as this one cannot get an order right to save their life. Three times this week someone in my department had their order messed up. All the orders were refunded; the only good thing about this location is the assistant manager Melanie who was very helpful after these incidents.

I ordered carry out through the online system to have our office's order ready through the Rapid Pick-Up service. I left work immediately to make sure I could get it as soon as it was ready. The online time was about 15 minutes. I drove there and made it in less than 10 minutes. I asked an employee about my carry out order. She directed me to this large bookcase and said all Rapid Pick-Ups are in there. Sure enough, even in under 10 minutes, my order was there and ready. I was standing in line from how busy they were to begin with, but I was especially impressed that the food was ready that quickly. The only reason Panera Bread gets 4 stars from me is the quality of food for the price. It seems their prices go up often enough for me to avoid eating there. The food isn't that great to charge such a high price for soup and salad or for a soup and sandwich. I will most likely order from here again, as it's quick, but the pricing is too high for what you actually receive in your order.

Who doesn't love Panera?! I wish they were located at the hospitals. Anyway, this one is in the shopping mall with kroger next to it. Plenty of parking and can get pretty busy during lunch. One time I called in before heading out hoping that my food will be ready by the time I got there. NOPE! I had to wait another 15 minutes. Mind as well just have went there and ordered. Another time I arrived to one line and 4 registers. One of the registers broke and they "offered" pastries or drinks while we waited. Not on the house. No thank you. I don't want to buy a pastry to eat for lunch. Also sometimes they aren't that good at calling your name. My friend Emily became Emma. They also don't even try pronouncing harder names. "Name that starts with a M" Why don't you shout out the order instead of saying that. Service leaves something to be desired but the food is Panera quality. Can't complain about that.

Pretty much just like every other Panera out there, except this place gets crazy busy and crowded at lunch--like line all the way to the door busy. Don't go at noon expecting to get in and out in less than an hour.

Big fan of panera, just not this panera. Horribly slow and poor service. Worth the drive to the next location.

idk if their chicken is just old, or very undercooked, but the chicken in my panini was pink three times that i have ordered the same sandwich. and by making exceptions, not knowing, and or being too in a rush to complain, i now am for the third time suffering from food poisoning. i wouldn't risk it again, especially with children for neglect like that could kill them. very disappointed.

This place stays crowded during lunch rush (11:30a-1p) during the work week. But they do add extra help. I was there today and they had 4 people working to make cafe orders, which is much different than the 1 person that does breakfast when it's not busy. I still has to wait nearly 15 minutes for my order, but there were 15-20 orders ahead of mine (why does everyone go to lunch at the same time). Pretty much the normal Panera menu. I like the U Pick 2 1/2 sandwich & 1/2 salad (or soup). I lean toward the Sierra Turkey Sandwich & BBQ Chicken Salad. The spicy mayo on the sandwich is tasty & the salad is on point for a bbq/southwesten taste lover. If you go often get a Panera Card. It's a reward card that gives you free stuff based on your visits randomly. Yes you don't get reward levels, it's more a frequent user card. On my 1st visit I received a free bakery item and other rewards such as free beverages, $1 off, and some other things that are useful if you go there anyway.

Dear Panera staff, Fine. You have slow service. That should probably be fixed, but if it's working for you without too many complaints, then great. But when you're moving that slow, you should be darn sure you take the next person in line. I walked in to this Panera in the unfortunate position of being behind a customer that had a lot of questions about the menu. That's cool. She should be sure she gets what she wants. And, in fact, I was impressed with how the guy waiting on her was patient and accomodating, which is why I'm giving this review 2 stars instead of 1. As this lady took her time asking her questions, a line started to form. Eventually another employee noticed and started ringing customers up that walked into Panera way after me at the bakery register. As the first of those customers stepped up to make his order at the bakery, the lady in front of me finished her order with a bottle of water. The polite dude that was waiting on her disappeared into the back to try to find said bottle of water. The other guy finished up his order before my guy had found the bottle of water. That's when I walked out. I don't have a short temper. I don't mind being patient. But I had a lot going on today and I didn't have time for this nonsense. If Panera can't respect my time, they don't get my dollars. I most likely won't make the mistake of stepping back into this time-suck of a Panera.

I like Panera Bread for the most part. I always seem to encounter a bad experience from this location. Went in the door, walked to the counter, looked at the cashier. The guy said, "I am ready when you are." That was mistake one - he didn't greet me or ask me what I would like. Waited 5 minutes for my order (normal and expected) The lady handed me my order, but she never asked me what I wanted for a side. Second mistake - she ASSUMED I wanted chips. For the prices they charge, I expect great service, not mediocre service. I despise the service I receive from location and I will never come back.

I found this Panera Bread pretty decent given how busy and crowded it was during the lunctime hr. Service was reasonably fast and my steak & provolone panini half sandwich with a side of onion soup was decent. They offer the 'buy any two' (any 1/2 sandwich, 1/2 salad, soup) for less than $6 which is a nice lunch bargain. The interior of the restaurant is deceptively spacious with a large front 'coffee shop style 'lounge area for people who just want to snack on coffee and baked goods while pretending to do work and using the free wifi, while the proper sitdown dining area has plenty of booth and table seating. I came to this location a couple times for lunch while my father was being hospitalized at the local Providence Hospital and sadly, Panera was one of the better food options in the immediate area. So it earns an extra point for that. Plus parking is easy and convinient since it shares the lot with the local Kroger supermarket as well.

If you want service, avoid this Panera location. I've gone several times and have found it to be too slow. In this busy location, you'd think it would be the most snappy service ever. You'd be thinking wrong. While most of the staff is polite, I typically only see one cashier and one sandwich maker doing any work. The food is alright, but with speed like their's, you might be tempted to head to the Chicago-style pizzeria next door.
