Wonderful food, great service, such a friendly staff! Onion rings are the BEST! The outside of the building doesn't do justice to what you will find inside! Lots of saginaw heritage on these walls!

Everyone working here is friendly and great! From the nice lady that sat us and gave us refills to our waiter who was also the owner. Great food, all three of us girls loved everything we had. We cleaned our plates off! They even had cake for dessert. A friend of mine is one of the main cooks and he never disappoints. I highly recommend this place. It's a nice cozy atmosphere.

A true Saginaw must-stop. The gentlemen that own this place truly have a heart for the city and it's people. The food is amazing, the hot beef sandwich is the best I've ever had. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant.

The food here is great. I haven't had a single thing I didn't like. The onion rings are amazing, the burgers are juicy and full of beefy flavor, the other sandwiches I've tried are great. They have great breakfast too, with crispy hashbrowns and interesting options like the cornflake crusted Mrs. Shinaver's French Toast. I've had some coworkers gripe about the prices for a burger, but I personally think it's a great value. For maybe a couple bucks more than the local fast food place you get a delicious, big, hand-crafted burger. On the other end I read a complaint about the smoke; and it is legitimate. It smells like you're in an unventilated diner kitchen in there, particularly in the 'bar' area of the restaurant. I don't mind it much, but you carry it with you when you leave smelling of burgers and fries. Also, it can be pretty slow. Don't go there for a quick lunch, but if you're not in a hurry I can't recommend it more.

I'm going to give this place a three star review. Not because the food was bad or the service was either. It's quite the contrary. While the menu is not all too inspired and a bit antiquated, typical for Mid-Michigan area diner/pubs, The Savoy Bar and Grill execute very well. Today I ordered a simple two egg breakfast, over hard eggs, hash browns, bacon, and wheat toast. Also on the order, a request for the half order of their French Toast and one serving of biscuits and gravy. The basic breakfast was, in fact basic, but the hash was crisped to perfection served as a hefty portion for the Saginaw glutton. The bacon was crisp but the fatty parts were still a bit tender making it perfect. The bread was a delicious thick slice and NOT slathered in butter as many other area breakfast spot unfortunately tend to do. The biscuits and gravy were nearly perfect to a southern standard. They had run out from earlier due to my late arrival, but they gladly made a fresh batch of a deliciously spiced sawmill sausage gravy. Black pepper was a perfect amount and the spice left that just right amount of lingering kick on the palate. Most of the biscuits were soft and fluffy. Again I can't complain about a few hard spots because I was last to order and last to leave as doors were locked. Again I repeat, FRESH IN HOUSE MADE GRAVY. The same cannot be said about Court St Diner. Last and not least is the French Toast. Delicious and crispy. Battered in eggs and dipped in Frosted Flakes, then grilled on a press. What a fond twist to classic sweet breakfast choice. Only way to make it better in my opinion is to use butter or coconut oil on the press and serve with real maple syrup or something fruit based made in house. All in all, the food was great. The two stars are dropped because the air circulation in this place is absolutely the worst. I walked into a fried smoke haze, a sight resembling a 1970's basement jazz club. This is a problem that has been ongoing from the beginning of time from what I hear from the locals. I feel as though you clear the smoke, and the people will pour in. Secondly, was the sad juxtaposition of beautiful antiques mixed with hand me down 1980's peach vinyl banquet chairs and torn up restaurant supply catalog ordered deli tables. I would choose to stay eclectic, but motivate the atmosphere with vintage dining tables or even reclaimed wood tables. Saginaw is an old lumber town. Thirdly, I should never ever ever ever ever see dust accumulating on anything that circulates the air, i.e. Ceiling fans, pull handles, hair vents, or let's be honest...any touchable surface. Fix those problems and I can recommend that Savoy can and will be a staple spot in Saginaw. Until then, I'll stick with Tony's.

Excellent food, good choices but would like to have more vegetarian options. Inside is older style, bathrooms on second level through the bar area. Management & staff are great & accommodating. Don't be afraid to custom your order as these guys get it right! Love the homemade onion rings!

Great food! Don't eat in if you don't want to smell like the grill. They need a serious upgrade to the air handlers in the kitchen. The food is worth it though!

Go in and see the guys. Breakfasts are great. Been going there for years and have yet to be disappointed. The staff has always been the best and make the experience very enjoyable.

Food was very good. They were under staffed for the night but were very apologetic and polite. Will visit again.

I give this a meh because of the coffee I had with my breakfast. The beans were cheap and tasted like burnt black liquid and the liquid creamers they serve are nondairy giving the coffee an ever worse aftertaste. The wrap was good but I was not fond of the processes cheese. It tasted cheap like McDonalds. I will try this place for dinner. That is where all of the raves have been coming from.

Was skeptical at first when the group I was with wanted to try this out. I'm glad they they did. The food was really good and our server was prompt and made sure our group was well taken care of. Definitely going back again!

A great little bar. Close to the Dow Event Center (2 blocks). The restaurant has very good homemade food.

You can't go wrong here. Their sandwich selection is unique and extensive. Look for their daily specials, because not only are they a good price, but they are super delicious! Savoy is a hole in the wall restaurant in downtown saginaw and has the character to match. They have free wi-fi too, so an added bonus to the great food!
