This place is so.much.fun. The soundtrack is all 80's and 90's and the drinks are cheap. Very cool ambience, and definitely no worries of contracting a disease from any surfaces. Also, you won't run the risk of accidentally witnessing any dancefloor sex, which in my experience has been a hazard of most bars/clubs that cater to a younger crowd. The decor is trendy without trying too hard; they've clearly tried to create a more upscale yet laid-back, come-as-you-are atmosphere and they pull it off. Mondays are Ladies Nights and feature $1.50 domestic bottles and $1 off any other drink, I believe. The place didn't get overly crowded that night, which was nice. I have also been to Retro Rocks on a Thursday night for $3 Long Islands (which were very good), and this night it did get quite packed but not as badly as the place next door. Even with a crowd, I still didn't have to wait too long to get a drink. I haven't been there for food but I hear great things. Whenever I'm back in Saginaw, Retro Rocks will be a must.

I hate the video screen. If I have to read another guy say some stupid comment on it about wanting to bang every girl in the bar, or how horny he is, to talk about some girls body.... It's very unclassy for how much the owners have seemed to put into the place. Very disappointing.

Great menu. This is a dance club type place later at night, but their dinner menu rocks. They offer everything from burgers to pork satay skewers, grilled tofu, ahi tuna and lots of international foods. Price is great and so is the staff. As of December 2011, on Sundays they are trying out an acoustic venue with low lights, special appetizers and acoustic retro tunes.

Well my husband and I got transferred to Michigan this year. I went out for the first time with some of my girlfriends to this bar. I guess I got spoiled by growing up in San Diego and our bars there. But this place is alright. My friends are kinda obsessed with it...If you like 80's music this place is definitely for you. Its kinda small, no dance floor but the bartenders are always attentive. They also have a screen in the back where you can text messages to and it will scoll down on the big screen for people to read. Its pretty funny. I'm sorta eh about this place. I don't have anything bad to say about this place but I wasn't thrilled by it either. I haven't tried the food yet but I've heard good things about it. If you're looking for the smaller bar scene, and some 80's music this would be the place to go.

Found on yelp and took a chance. This is a bar with some very good food. Cheap eats, done very well. Give them a try.

Fun. I love 80s music and the video screens. It is impossible to move because of the busy weekends.

Awesome atmosphere, drinks, music, videos, staff, management & owner. The new addition of the tapas (my idea) makes this place even better:)

Went out there on Thursday for their 3.50 long islands, which they make pretty strong. Got bat-shit-drunk for nice and cheap. The bartender doesn't skimp on the booze and the waitress Sam rarely lets your glass stay empty long.

A solid bar (and partly restaurant), but the food is actually quite good. It's a 90s themed bar and does a great job of being welcoming to both locals and visitors. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a solid spot for a drink and a bite. The chef allegedly is uniquely talented, but I can only confirm that the tandoori chicken I got was delicious. Great spot. Nice and knowledgable staff. A solid choice for a night on Hamilton St. Cheers!

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with great service. We had cilantro tomatoe bisque, ahi tuna plate and the Flank steak special with grilled asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes and a balsamic reduction sauce. A must if you are in the area

My husband and I had a great dinner and you couldn't ask for better service - thanks Tyler. By far one of the best restaurants in Saginaw. The Argentine Beef skewers and Crab Ragoon were excellent.

I absolutely love this place. The differences between the old owner and new make it more fun than before. The food is excellent with varied choices and I like that they use tablets at the tables for ordering food. No more searching for an elusive server and that's great. The videos have been updated consistently and that's important. You can only hear Journey followed by Foreigner followed by Bon Jovi so many times before you're sure your ears are bleeding. Security is also excellent and that's a huge point for me. I've been watched over and protected by the staff so no drinks of mine have been roofied and they've made sure I've gotten to my car safely. They offer Club Keno and I've won enough there to pay off bar tabs and buy t-shirts. When I'm in Saginaw I am proud to say that "I Drink Here"

Staff is awesome, always willing to chat about new beers on draft, menu items, or construction upgrades. I recommend the seared tuna (some of the best in town), paired with a cocktail made with Effen Cucumber (one of few places in town to carry the premium spirit.) Drink prices are sometimes a little high, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. Keep it goin, Retro's!

I have yet to eat here, but have heard nothing but good things in regards to the food. The interior is newly remodeled and looks great. The music is fun, but it's always way too packed to totally enjoy myself.

Not my regular bar, but it's a nice "get wild" bar. Great dj's. Don't know all the bartenders, but they're all attentive and reasonably prompt. Good food. The lure of this bar are the dj's that play music over ten years old. It's fun.

I definitely feel like if you're not a regular here, expect to get bad service. We went on a Saturday night when it was busier and waited over 15 minutes to get served. Twice the bartender looked over me asking for orders of people that he obviously knew. It was very frustrating. The other bartender was talking to people that she knew, not helping at all. When we did get our drink, we waited in line another 15 minutes but then decided to go. It took us a long time to get our check as well. The style is nice, the retro theme is cool along with the music, but it's a smaller bar that's always very crowded. Unless you plan to go here alot and be friends with the bartenders, I would recommend skipping this place.

Go for drinks with friends. I haven't had any food there but the mixed drinks were pretty good. They need at least two bartenders on Saturday night. Love the 80s music.

If I could give it no stars, I would. Bartenders are rude. I went three times telling my husband "we needed to give them a chance" and it was such a waste of time. They are all rude and uncaring unless you are an established townie regular. We lived there and tried to get in the "in crowd" but the only time they would serve us was at off hours when no one else was there. Even then it was "what do you want?" and then they would disappear in the back for 20 minutes at a time. We ate there, eh, wouldn't do it again. Bartenders couldn't even make me a dirty martini without instructions. The inside looks like the underside of a bridge in NYC's ghetto. Had an issue brought to the management's attention and instead of offering help, or support or an apology, they told me how the issue was my fault. Your rude bartenders and incompetent workers are not my fault. All in all, we hated it. We will never go back in, and we will never suggest it to anyone in our network. BOO!

80s and 90s music are now considered "retro" which ages the gen x, y and whatever followed that. This place caters to that crowd who can reminisce the good old days when Pluto was still a planet and chickenpox got you out of school for a week. The bar itself is in the main room and there is a separate room with a large table setting of high bar chairs that almost separates you from the rest of your crowd when you sit around it. The drinks are strong and come in asymmetric glasses. Yes there is some attempt at class in Saginaw as evidenced by this small touch in drinkware and by the sinkworks in the bathroom. The surrounding dim lighting of the bar is an earthy or gunmetal-like color depending on which room you're in. Overall this is a great place for drinking and people watching. The crowd is certainly interesting and widely variable. The music videos they play on the large screen also offer commentary by texting. Perhaps retro rocks I will "hit you baby one more time".

I'm not a late night bar kinda girl, but I like coming here for a small dinner and drinks. The menu is great, you can't find food like this anywhere else in Saginaw, try the grilled cheese with bacon jam or the crab cheese (best in town). All the of the skewers are amazing. I am a huge fan of their dipping sauces, there is a different kind of dipping sauce served with each different dish, which is great, they compliment them perfectly. Lots of thought went into their menu, which I appreciate. The have some great drink specials during the week and the palce always seems busy on the weekends.
