I personally would never pick OCB, but the people we were meeting chose it. I generally just do not like buffets. I want to eat at places that specialize in something. On the upside there are a ton of options. I did enjoy the hash browns, pepper gravy and sausage. I noticed the omelette station to late. I also liked that they have Slushees. Breakfast is a good value. I did not like the chicken fried steak. It was overcooked and chewy. Many of the options are bland.

Not impressed at all! First time we've been here for the dinner buffet in a couple of years. There weren't many food choices at all. Yes the basic salads, mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, tacos, spaghetti, fried fish, and desserts. A lot of food items were out and took a while before it was restocked. Nothing like it used to be. We could have gone to Ponderosa and paid $20 less than what we did here for the exact same food. Totally not worth the money they charge. Also called to find out what time the dinner buffet started because on-line it stated 2 different times depending on where you looked was either 3 or 4 pm. The girl who answered the phone was very rude immediately put me on hold....5 minutes later I hung up and called back and again immediately was put on hold....a couple minutes later she asked how she could help me in a very rude tone, so asked my question come to find out the dinner buffet started at 3:30, which was fine but make sure to call ahead to make sure you know what time they switch things over!

This place is exactly what they say it is. I'm 44 years old and I have a long memory, this place reminds me of when gas was cheap and my family would cross the country from New Mexico to Pennsylvania to see my Dad's parents. We would stop in random Mom and Pop restaurants for some nice home style cooking while on the road. Old Country Buffet is just that a 70's/80's retro (only its not) travel stop eatery. The fried chicken really brought the memories as did the Jalapeno cornbread. The salads where cold and crispy, the taco bar was up to snuff with my wife and daughter. Kids got free cotton candy. There were a couple of items that probably could have been replaced and we were there real close to closing time (which really isn't an excuse) but I wouldn't knock them down over leaving their pizza out too long...there were far worse things about it....from a box for one...maybe a drop item. Did have a bowl of Sirloin Chili and you could really taste the chili powder...awesome. Got a few desserts just to round out my review...all pre-frozen but tasty except the strawberry cheese cake, that tasted like the no bake J-ello version eh send it bake to hell lol. They had a Blueberry cheesecake that was delicious and the coconut crème and pecan slices I had to finish...very full leaving. Diane was a great waitress and I didn't catch the name of the server who walked around trying to give away sugar cookies for Valentines Day. Seeing how we have to travel to Saginaw for appointments and its a 2 hour trip on a good day this is a place we will probably visit again to keep the costs down. Yeah it was pretty ok. The four of us ate for $35

I like to come here for baked chicken and veggies to try to eat healthy while I am on the road. With a place like this dont expect much. You get what you pay for. I think kids should NOT be allowed to get their own food #sogross
