I've been told the food here used to be great but after the mother (I think) left it wasn't as good. I still think it's pretty good right now. From the front you'd probably drive right by but stop in, give it a try. Food is pretty good and portion size isn't bad. Prices are fairly low. I'd like to give a 3.5 but can't. While most places only have free hot tea they also offer free ice tea here. CLOSED TUESDAYS

The restaurant is a little pushed back off the main road, and looks very plain from the front but the food is great! There is plenty of seating but it seemed like everyone was getting take-out. We were told that our order would be ready in 30 minutes, and it turned out being another 45 minute wait after we got there at the 30 minute mark but we were very pleased with our take out and weren't in a hurry so we didn't mind the wait. They may have been abnormally busy, the phone was ringing off the hook the whole time we were there and orders lined the window. Now about the food: The beef and broccoli is now my husband's favorite in the area and had more meat than vegetables. The crab rangoons are the best I have found in Saginaw as well. Although the service was slow, the waitress in the front of the house (despite her frazzledness and another patron yelling about her food not being available the second she walked in) was quite pleasant. We also got some crab rangoons on the house for our wait, which we appreciated. We'll definitely be regulars!

Cheap, fast service, decent take-out American-style Chinese food. You can get a soup, appetizer and lunch item for like 6 bucks.

Plain from the outside, but don't pass it by! Super food, friendly people, inexpensive prices. Most lunches are under $6. But it's no frills. Plastic plates , but who cares for a fast, good inexpensive lunch!

I love this place! They changed ownership a few years back and the new owner, Edna, is the sweetest lady! This restaurant is very clean, and they enjoy their customers and go out of the way to please them. The decor and ambiance is about right for a quick dine in or take out place. The prices and portion sizes are very good. I have certain Chinese restaurants that I go to when I want certain things. Here, I love the Sizzling Rice Soup and the Mongolian Beef. Any beef entree is really great! Pretty much the same with pork or chicken entrees as well, but the Sweet and Sour Pork is top notch. Same with the Roast Pork Egg Fu Yung. I give New China only 4 stars because my only negatives are... the Sizzling Rice Soup could use a spoonful of bullion to make it a bit richer tasting. I add my own chicken soup base when I get it home! But even so, the soup is delicious and they don't skimp on the shrimp, meat, or other ingredients. Also, the Mu Shu Pork is served with thick flour tortillas instead of the usual Chinese pancakes... sort of strange, but the taste of the pork filling mixture is great. I just don't order that anymore because I really need the Chinese pancakes with my Mu Shu! Other than that, the sauces could be a wee bit thicker for their entrees, such as the Mongolian Beef, Almond Chicken, etc. The sauce is delicious but a bit too runny for these types of dishes. They need to thicken it a bit more to be on par with other Chinese restaurants and with how it should be made. If you order the Almond Boneless chicken, tell them to go easy on the soy sauce, otherwise it gets to be too salty. Otherwise, it's also a delicious dish. Please do try this charming restaurant. It's not some giant, faceless chain outfit. It's just a little mom and pop shop... somebody's dream. They have 6 kids and are trying to realize the American dream. I could eat there every day and never get tired of their delicious Asian fare. They also deliver for minimum orders!

Our usual Chinese place was closed so we tried New China. Ended up ordering Lemon Chicken. By the time we got home discovered mine was Almond Chicken. Ate it anyways, but the chicken was extremely dry. Coating on it was also very hard. Tasted almost like rough chicken nuggets. Not as fresh as other restaurant, will not be a return customer. Poor overall food quality. Fried rice with meal was average.

This place is great and despite how it looks on the outside! New China is one of the best Chinese food places in mid-Michigan I love all the food here very flavorful with authentic flavors. I always come here at least once a week I usually stick to the beef lomein with mushrooms very spicy or the jalapeño chicken which is so so good! The crab cheese are also so good I have tried a lot of the appetizers and entrees here and never had anything bad or bland the owner is very friendly and is always willing to alter the menu based on your taste preference. So give this place a shot and you might love it like I do!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
