Hands down the best Indian food around. My favorite dish is the chicken makhani. The garlic naan is a great compliment. If you're feeling extra hungry try the vegetable samosa. The service is always timely and pleasant. Enjoy!

Last visit was terrible again, but not as bad as before. Hopefully, that new place Shahi in Green Acres, when it opens, can actually do a proper job with Indian food.

I'm not sure why this place has gotten so many bad reviews lately, but this is probably the best food in Saginaw. I'm Pakistani and this place is legit! The place is a little hole in the wall and the decor is out dated, but most restaurants in Saginaw are. We ordered the tandoori chicken, khadi chicken, and vegetable curry- all spicy, and it was spicy! The best dish was the tandoori chicken and it was served sizzling hot on a fajita plate. It also had a little Thai chili like sweetness to it. Sooooo good! Highly recommended! It is all dark meat pieces, but if you want white meat the chicken tikka is the one to order. I washed it all down with some ice cold mango juice. Slurp! We will definitely be coming back. Honestly, I probably won't eat at another restaurant in this town!

Mmm love Indian food and so glad this place is close to me. Lamb biryani, aloo palak, vindaloo, naan...and you choose your spice.

Meh. I've been to many Indian restaurants in my travels and almost always get vindaloo. The spice level was good, but the flavor was bland and there was barely any meat. Naan was a little crisp for my taste, but I could see how that could be a matter of preference. Location was not inviting. It is nested in a rundown ethnic strip mall. Inside, the decor was ok, but at least leaned towards ethnicity. bathroom was fairly clean, but no paper towel and it takes two years to dry your hands on the 1985 hand dryer. Menu was typical and prices were affordable. Maybe other dishes are better, but if you're a vindaloo lover, I'd keep looking.

This restaurant is decent for the price and offers very friendly, quick service. I was a fan of the entree, but wouldn't recommend their breads.

Would suggest avoiding this place. BAD food. Ordered Kadhai Paneer....supposed to have tomatos and bell peppers....it was only onions and few pieces of Paneer. So dish didnt have what it was supposed to have, it tasted bad....no flavor at all. Naan was decent. When a website does not display prices...it most of the time is expensive. I would not even pay half of what i paid for this food.

I've only been here once, but it was great. My experience with Indian food is very limited, but this place is good whether it's authentic or not. Not many people know about this place as it's tucked away in a strip mall, and they don't advertise much if at all. The restaurant itself could use some updating, but the food is some of the best around. The prices are low for the amount of food you receive, and the waitstaff is very friendly. If you haven't checked it out already, you should soon.

We've been here several times and usually enjoy the friendly staff and good food. Samosa's and various Currys are great. Over the past several months however it's their service that has gone quite downhill. During our last trip in, a Sat night, we arrived at 830pm and had planned on just an appetizer plate and a couple glasses of wine, however we were met promptly at the door by one member of the staff and we're rudely informed that they were only taking take out orders and would be closing soon. Their sign indicated a 9pm close time. Judging by what we have witnessed as a historical lack of patronage during previous visits, they don't seem to be in a position to be turning customers away.

Great service and every time I go the meal is always outstandingly good. The main items I order are vegetable samosa (appetizer), chicken tikka masala (main), with a side of garlic naan.

Very VERY very disappointing and WAY overpriced!! Misrepresentation of how good Indian food actually is!! I have been to the Kabob N Curry House multiple times and have to say it has went WAY downhill. I don't think I will ever go back. I ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala and it had absolutely no flavor. I sent it back and it came back even worse (yet, was still charged in full). The only good thing was the service. The waitress was super nice and did a good job but that doesn't make up for the horrible food. I would not recommend this place to anyone. So sad, we needed a good indian place around here!!

Orderd d cafe kebob to go- they give me luke warm(looks/tastes like reheated) chunks o chicken w some dubious slices of onions n a lemon wedge. FIRST- ITS CALLED KEBOB N CURRY!!! how d hell is ur kebob gonna suck?! SECOND- the description online says veggies- not just onions! And WHY is there SIRACHA on my damn food??? Is it bc I asked for extra spicy?! NO. I eat Indian food ALL THE TIME. This is deplorable. I bet FIVE DOLLARS if I called BBB now- they would b shut down for unsanitary practices. WHY? Bc a lazy chef that's lazy w his food also is lazy w keepin up his kitchen!! Owners/ chefs at Kebob n Curry- u shame Indian food n chefs everywhere! WHERE is ur pride???

We stopped here on our way north, looking for something interesting for New Years Eve. Even though they had a huge party coming in, they could not have been more gracious about seating us and the service was wonderful. The food was buffet style because of the big party, but it was excellent and we got to try a little of everything. Ate way too much, but couldn't stop, it was so good. We will definitely make it one of our regular stops when heading downstate (and back again). A great way to end the year!

Great laid back atmosphere, it's quiet. The restaurant is a bit dim, set a nice mood. My friend and I went here to talk business and highly enjoyed it. Our waiter was soft spoken and very nice. Even asked if we wanted a second helping of soup. We took advice from a few yelpers and ordered chicken korma. It was boneless chicken in a creamy sauce. Delicious! You can get it as spicy as you want. My friend had leftovers and our waiter even gave her more rice. Great moscato wine too. Menu samples: Chicken specials are $11.95: Chicken Curry Chicken Korma Chicken Tikki Korma (boneless chicken in a tandoori sauce, baked in the tandoor and simmered in a creamy sauce. Lamb specials are $11.95: Lamb Curry Lamb Korma Lamb Madras (Lamb cooked with freshly cut tomatoes in a spicy coconut sauce) Lamb Vindaloo (Sliced lamb and potatoes in a hot Goan sauce) Veggie dishes are $9.95: Vegetable Curry Pindi Chole (Famous deluxe chickpeas cooked in an onion and tomato sauce) Palak Paneer (Cubes of homemade cheese cooked with spinach, onions and tomatoes) They also have seafood, kabobs...Naan bread (which is sooo good)...All dinners come with soup and saffron rice.

NEW OWNERS 6/3/1 HAVE RUINED THE FOOD! Been eating their lamb vindaloo for two years, has been great until this week. No flavor, just watery tomato sauce. It was the worst Indian food I've ever had. The new Muslim owners took out all alcoholic beverages (no beer or wine) and are in the process of re-doing all the traditional recipes so that they have no flavor. Don't bother with this place!

  • Jeffrey B.

New owners bought this place in June 2014.. the food quality has gone from flavorful and complex to a bland mess. Lamb Vandaloo, which used to be one of the best plates there has become a boring tomato soup. Due to religious beliefs, the owners have also removed all alcohol sales (including wine).

Wonderful food. I have had lunch a few times here and the service was great and fast. My aunt who spent some time in India said Kabob & Curry's food is very good and comparable to true Indian food. My favorite dishes so far: chicken tikki korma, biryani, any of the kabobs and the papadam chips. Their fresh bread is out of this world.

Truth in cooking. There is much inconsistency in the food delivered each time. It maybe that the cooks are different, but the food may come out decent or just awful. Also the prices rose from the last time I was there, maybe because of the monopoly on Indian food in Saginaw. If you absolutely crave Indian food and can't cook it yourself, this place is your only option.

Great Indian food. Everything I have ever had here is great, and I can recommend everything on their Menue. Everything is good and spicy (the feint of pallet should beware). They have an OK Beer and Wine selection. Everyone is very friendly, and food comes out pretty quick. A great place for lunch or dinner, and they are now serving a buffet on Sundays. Check Them out.

Going to this restaurant was a real experience. The service was cheery almost to the point of insincerity. The food came out faster than any other Indian restaurant I've ever been to, and faster than most non Indian sit down restaurants as well. When I saw and tasted the food it was immediately evident why it had arrived so fast. It because all of the food was made from the kind of preprepared packaged stuff you can buy at Costco of Sam's Club. The coconut shrimp pakoras were identical to the coconut shrimp that I have often bought from those big box stores, and we're accompanied by the runniest watered down chutneys I have ever had. The naan was super soggy, obviously not homemade, and probably reheated in a microwave. My main dish, Mattar Paneer, was the most flavorless bland curry I have ever had. It was neither spicy nor seasoned in any enjoyable way. You are better off buying precooked packaged Indian food from your local grocery store than eating at Kabob N Curry House.

I finally returned to give Kabob and Curry House a second chance and was far less disappointed with my meal than last time. As before, the veggie samosas were delicious, and the aloo gobi was just spicy enough and had great flavor but the texture was a little pasty for my taste. It was also a LOT of peas and not very many cauliflower. It was still good enough to keep me coming back. They also had a dinner buffet set up which wasn't huge but had a nice variety of veggie and chicken dishes, salad, soups, and desserts.

Looking for something different in Saginaw around the university is a bit harder than I expected. Fortunately, my kids knew of this Indian restaurant local to the area. We've eaten here twice now and both times have had very nice meals, with good service. The food is not entirely authentic, but good quality and nice flavors. You can choose the heat level, and I think they err on the side of caution because of their normal clientele. If you like things hotter, order the next level up to ensure you get the heat you want. We love lamb and it's hard to get, so finding it on the menu was a good thing! Our kids enjoy chicken mostly, and go with milder options. Everything we have had here has been good. Now, why then my rating of only 3-stars? Personally, I think it is very expensive and the portion sizes are smaller than what I would expect for the cost. This is really the only reason. I do not think the value ratio is good enough, but with options in the area a bit limited for fare like this, it's still good to have this place around. So, I recommend the place, but don't be surprised about the bill at the end!

The signage doesn't jump out at you; far back in a strip mall (look for the sign for International Spices). Very good Indian food and it's ready surprisingly quickly. I had a strawberry lassi, the vegetable curry, samosa, and a deep-fried bread with with a spiced chickpea accompaniment. It was my waitress's first day, and she was helpful but a bit flustered. The lassi was good; the deep-fried bread a little greasy (in the nature of the beast), and the vegetable preparations very fresh - I burned myself on the chickpeas. The curry in particular was very good, and the samosa were excellent - obviously just out of the frier, flaky. The coriander dipping sauce was a little unusual (sort of watery; might have a little tamarind in it?) but good. Dinner comes with a completely unmemorable tomato soup; I tried a second spoonful to figure out why I didn't like it and decided it wasn't worth the effort. Wine list, mostly by the bottle; some interesting sweet German wines are listed and they also have soft drinks and Indian beer. Very reasonably priced and tasty.

Recently remodeled, good food but it's very inconsistant. You can order the same thing today and next week you'll get something different enough to notice. I'm not sure if the cooks aren't all on the same page or they just change recipes all the time... Sometimes medium isn't hot at all and sometimes it's too hot. Service is good and it's nice quiet place to eat.

For the people who rated this place 5 stars, obviously haven't been out of Saginaw. I agree with the poster below who said that the food is very inconsistent; spicy necessary doesn't mean burn my taste buds so I can't truly gauge how bad the food is. And mild should't be to the point where its bland. Even with that, you won't get the same medium twice at that place. Service is okay, the naan's are definitely frozen, at least mine were just cold and soggy. I would forgive them, if they didn't jack the prices up the last month. Seriously a monopoly on Indian food? No thanks, I'll just make my own, or wait for better food somewhere else.

We are transplants to Saginaw, used to living in ethnically diverse metropolitan areas - so the food selection in Saginaw has been extremely underwhelming. The ethnic food is especially bad. The only exception I have found is the Kabob N Curry House. I'm not a fan of Kabob restaurants, so I resisted eating here based on the name. It turns out to be a full service Indian restaurant! Now, I know Indian food. I'm from Silicon Valley, which has a HUGE Indian population and some incredible restaurants. My best friend in high school was Indian. This is some great Indian food. Far better than anything we found while living in the Washington DC area. We had lunch there, the portions were nicely sized and came with rice. We also ordered the appetizer sampler. Everything was great except the chicken pakoras, they were a little bland. Samosas were great. Then I had the butter chicken (my favorite Indian dish and always my test dish to see if a place is any good) and my husband had chicken korma. Mine was very good, and his was even better. Give this place a try!

So happy to have found and indian restaurant close to Bay City! Everything I have had has been awesome and I am sure as I keep trying things that they will get better/more interesting. I HEART KABOB N CURRY!!! What more is there to say!

Although I'm originally from Saginaw, I now live in Seattle where I am lucky enough to have authentic Indian food readily available (within walking distance). I am spoiled in the sense that I have a vast array of wonderful cuisines at my fingertips. When I come back to Saginaw to visit, I am somewhat let down by the lack of non-chain options, so when I heard about Kabob N Curry House, I was so excited! I decided to take my younger sisters who have never had Indian food. We ordered the samosa appetizer (delicious, and approved by my teenaged sisters), the vegetable curry (awesome!) and chicken korma (very good). The waitstaff, thought quiet, were extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was clean and had minimal decoration. All in all, I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the authenticity was spot on. Yay Saginaw, for incorporating this adorable new restaurant into your up-until-now-fairly-bland Bay Road menu.

Best Indian food I've had yet. Lamb, chicken and veggie dishes were great -- fresh and piping hot. Rice was perfect, bread was great. Service was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly.
