A Saginaw legend! Know what you want when you order to speed up the line. When you walk in its a bit packed at the door but it's worth it. Try to get there around noon as they occasionally run out of bread and it's closing time. It's difficult to make sure you have enough bread for everyone so this is no issue for me. They usually remember your order (somehow) and are incredibly friendly with how fast they are whipping up subs throughout the chaos of the continuous line. The bread is made locally, around the corner, and it is amazing. They usually have a 2 sub deal with 2 drinks so bring a friend and enjoy!

I have been eating intermission deli since the day I was born. There is no comparison, period. I cannot believe a couple of yelpers have compared their ingredients to subway!!?? Do you have taste buds? Anyways, you cannot compete with the price and taste of these sandwiches. Yes they run out of bread and close early or take a week vacation that you don't know about until your at the front door :) but I think that just adds to what makes them so special! You gotta plan your day around getting there in time! And if you don't make it in time (which I have too many times to count) then you try again another day.

We enjoyed several of their homemade soups while there in April and May. When eating with others, we saw their sandwiches - they are HUGE and with the option of specialty breads. Our friends seemed to really enjoy their sandwiches. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. They not only have sandwiches and soup but main-dish salads also.

Great family owned deli! Heard the bread is amazing but they ran out the day I came in town. They had wheat bread still, I opted for a salad which is basically their sandwich ingredients on fresh chopped lettuce. Love that everything is freshly sliced! No skimping on the portions. Left me full and satisfied. Looking forward to making it in time for their popular bread. Love this local family owned business!

I live in Chicago and I cannot find a sandwich joint here that is anywhere near as good as Intermission Deli. Delicious, filing and fairly priced. And the bread they use from the nearby bakery (Napolitano's maybe)? It's tremendous! Too bad Yelp doesn't allow a 6-star rating because Intermission Deli deserves it.

Saginaw is not known for having good local food. The locals here have pretty bad taste. You will hear a lot of them say great things about Tony's and Intermission Deli. I don't get it, they're both awful. I've had Intermission a couple times, their subs are basically as good as the ones from Meijer. Dead serious. It's amateur hour. Someone just got some bread, mediocre meat and cheese, put it together and sold it. It's one of the worst subs I've ever had in the United States. I can't understand how someone can come from Chicago or NYC and think this is good? The location is awful too. I drove by it for years and didn't even know it was there. If this place did so well, how has it not moved yet?

Absolutely amazing sandwiches. Every time I visit home I try to get there. So good they run out of bread so get there early. The meat and cheese are so fresh and the oil on the sandwiches closes the deal. You won't be disappointed!!!

Great selection of sandwich choices. Seems like they have been around forever - and it's no wonder! Sandwiches are made with fresh bread and fresh ingredients, so no matter what your choice is, you will be happy!

Best deli sandwich in Saginaw. The only thing that isn't outstanding is the fact that if you're craving one of their delicious sandwiches after about 2 pm, you're out of luck. When the bread is gone, they close down. Get there early!

Go with the simple number 1. That's my fave. Way better than the chain sandwich shops. Must go when in Saginaw!

Have been going here since they opened in 1982. Sadly I moved away from Saginaw in 2002, but it is the ONE place I MUST go when I visit. Their sandwiches are the best and they are all so friendly. Anyone going to Subway or Jimmy John's instead is an idiot. Support local business!

I hate to ever knock a locally owned business but I have grown up in Saginaw and have watched this place inconvenience people on a daily basis. They ALWAYS run out of bread (which is the best part of the sandwich) which I do not understand. I get that you are buying fresh bread every morning and you don't want to end up wasting unused bread but, c'mon! Have a back up plan or something. I would think it makes more sense to stay open and possibly sell more sandwiches then to close early and miss out on potential opportunities.... who cares if you have to throw away a little extra bread at the end of the day? Also, I don't understand how anyone could say this is the BEST deli in Saginaw? The prices are alright but the quality of ingredients is on par with Subway (with the exception of the bread) In my opinion, a 4.5 star average is far too generous and if you are looking for a quality sandwich made of quality ingredients there are places in Saginaw that you can find them (Fralia's or Pannini's Deli) which will be OPEN if it is regular business hours.

Similar to subway except they give you a lot more lettuce. Homemade bread is the best part. Have to work around their hours.

My relatives had shared with me many times how wonderful the subs are here at Intermission. Many times have I been through Saginaw and driven right passed on my way to or from somewheres. I never took the info too seriously because they were the ones that also told me about the awesome Tony's steak sandwiches and I couldn't agree with them. Yes, I said it.. Tony's is not all that. I got a chance to try the deli finally, instead of drive-thru for the long drive home we purchased a couple foot longs. Pulling up to the parking area I was astonished at the number of cars in the parking lot already. It wasn't even 11 am yet and the lot was full. Inside there were a line of people up to the doorway. Inside they have a few booths and a restroom. While your sub is being prepared you can take a look through the glass and watch. These deli subs hit the spot, I think I could use another one now that I'm rekindling the thoughts in my head. They aren't Quizno's or Subway, they are home made, made on the wide French bread which can get sloppy if you don't man up and hold it properly. I had this divine sandwich called a Texan or Texan Cowboy sandwich, it came with Roast beef, cheddar and a special sauce. Now I could definitely go for one. A foot long was enough and kept me satisfied for the drive back to Chicago. Too bad they only have one location in Saginaw, a few more around town would be helpful.

Wow. Why would you go anywhere else when you can go here. Tons of sandwiches, great bread, great service. Try the Philiadelphia hoagie. The biggest thing I miss about not working in Saginaw is being able to go here for lunch.

I'm a big subway fan but for a more "home made" taste I always go to Intermission Deli. Decent prices, specials on 2 subs/2 drinks. I've really only gone for lunch but I hear they run out of bread and have to close some times. Sucks if you're looking for dinner but you know they're using fresh bread. I'll agree that there isn't a huge variation between a lot of the menu items but everything I've had is tasty.

Intermission Deli is hands down the finest deli in Saginaw. The sandwiches are some of the best I've had in my entire life. I recommend ordering the #9.

Hey this Deli has been awesome ever since it was in the Fordney Hotel in Old Town Saginaw! The staff is really friendly and the food is really cheap and tastes excellent! A++

I came here on a yelp recommendation. 12 inch sandwiches for a little over $5. The bread was fantastic however the meat was just average salty deli meat. nothing special except the homemade bread.

Intermission Deli is just one of those places where you can say, "iDeli has great sandwiches," and everyone nods in agreement. It reminds me of the "Soup Nazi" episode on Seinfeld because people are always lined up out the door and it's appreciated if you order by number and read the fine print about tomatoes and onions. The bread is the best and an entire 12" inch sandwich will probably cost you under $5! It's kind of hard to get to since it's on Bay Rd. between Davenport and State St.
