This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in my hometown. So, when I was in Saginaw this weekend, I made sure to stop in for a meal. It is hard to too their green bean chicken dish and their hot sour soup! The staff is friendly and the food always Tastes fresh! I've been coming here for years.

Incredible consistency always fast and inexpensive. If you like crab cheese theirs is second to none. Egg drop soup is perfect.Mongolian beef is good but it doesn't come spicy. (Just a heads up). That is my go-to order. Everything else I've had is good as well. The staff is always friendly. David just waited on us and was very very good. Not much to look at but the food makes up for the atmosphere!!!!

Ive been going here for years. The owner always greets you w/a smile and the waitstaff has always been friendly. The food has always tasted good to me. My friends and family have always enjoyed everything here too...its nice to have the option to get a mixed drink or glass of wine too. And I don't know why it says they dont accept credit cards, because they do.

Go for lunch! Fast service. Outrageously cheap prices. Very nice management. The only fault is the food can sometimes be hit or miss, but never "bad" enough to stop me from coming back.

Usually a good place to eat. Food quality has went down hill recently and food prices up. Large portions of food.

Hubby & I have been choosing this restaurant for years as our absolute favorite for Chinese food. Instead of dried out buffet entrees, each dish is freshly prepared and so tasty. Plenty of crisp vegetables and lean meat in every dish. We typically order the appetizer plate for 2 (because I can NOT resist all the appetizers!), and after working our way through that and the soup course, we haven't got much room left for the dinner. Not a problem, because it tastes just as good for lunch the next day. And portions are large. Tonight I heard a couple ordering appetizers, soups, and an entree to share. Smart! I had to post tonight, and include a picture of hubby's dinner. It was so artfully designed that I was really impressed. So much so that I made a point of complimenting the owner, who actually hand carved roses for the platter out of turnips! This place takes the time to make sure your food looks as good as it will taste. Well done.

I have had the takeout a few times and was less than impressed. But, that was a couple of years ago. We went back again, and I was pleasantly surprised. I had the generals chicken, and it was actually quite good. The portion size was quite large, And I had enough left over for my lunch the next day. I would give this place a solid three + stars

Food was ok...I've had better, but my biggest complaint was the dirty tablecloth and disgustingly filthy turntable in the middle of our table. A thorough cleaning is needed. The server was very friendly and food came out pretty fast.

I've been coming here since I was a child. I love Hunan. You can't beat the prices. I've yet to find anywhere with better Sizzle Rice soup in the Tri-Cities. The appetizer sampler platter is a must (I always sub extra paper chicken for the shrimp toast). They've also got the best egg drop soup around.

There are pros, and there are cons. The wait staff and "host" seem very nice, my waiter was real humorous too. The workers seem to have a warmer personality than most at any restaurant. I can see why the restaurant has plenty of regulars. The prices are pretty cheap, around $5-$6 for lunch that includes an entree, rice, soup, and crab cheese or egg roll. Big big portions. Small complaint would be the decor. Dimly lit restaurant, nothing too fancy. Larger complaint would be the food! I can't speak for all dishes, but my beef and broccoli was awful. I am the type to eat anything and everything, but I only ate two pieces of beef. It had just the strangest texture... kind of synthetic, not beefy. Too saucy, overcooked, and bland on top of that. The crab cheese and soup were delicious though. Restaurant is worth visiting, but be careful on what dish you choose!

I love Hunan and have been going here for decades, and have known the owners and wait staff from getting takeout several times. It's a fantastic business that I would recommend to anyone, but they're starting to fall behind the competition. It really could use a renovation and improve the quality of their meals. I will continue to be a faithful customer, but I know the writing is on the wall for this place.

Pretty good food for this kind of town, I definitely recommend trying it. The service was really great and attentive. I got the generals chicken and orange chicken. I prefer it over China palace in Midland. I just hope they can keep up with the competition with a new Panda Express going up nearby.

No stars but since Yelp requires that reviews receive at least One, I'll give Hunan one. I grew up in Saginaw and it has been years since I've been back in town. My sister and I decided to come back, especially for Hunan. She had worked here as a teenager and I remember the wonderful flavorful foods we used to eat from Hunan. To bring back the memories, we ordered our favorites from the menu. What we received was such a big disappointment-there was no flavor. This was by far the worse Chinese food I've ever had. We miss the original owners!

The food was very lack luster, without flavor and over cooked. There are better Chinese restaurants in town.

Favorite Chinese food!!! Haven't been able to find another place like it and I always make a point to go here when I come home. Yes, its a bit heavy and probably quite unhealthy, but their Hunan chicken and egg drop soup are so yummy. This place is a family favorite and they know us by name. Go for lunch, the prices are cheaper and the portions are huge, I usually have enough leftovers for 2 more meals!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
