I shouldn't have tried anything rated under three stars again, even for take outs......Omg I actually wanted the breakfast slim Jim, but they gave me the sandwich, well guess I could have maken that clear. The chicken rice soup was very salty, I could not even finish half. The sandwich was soggy with old cabbages and the sauce is just not that great. Seriously, I felt terrible wasting food but I just can't bear this sandwich n the salty soup...

Meh. Bad servers and kitchen staff can really make a mundane experience bad. Hats off to management for truly seeming to care and being Responsive to feedback Worst mac n cheese of all time

Nobody in the store at 6:50 am yet a simple waffle takes 20 minutes to prepare. Staff is more concerned with thier personal issues. Thank goodness I didn't have a flight to catch.

Terrible service! I actually didn't get to taste the food. I'm sure it would've been good but I couldnt get past the rudeness of the waitress Trini. I was greeted and sat down wuicckly but nobody came over. I started watching the time once it seemed like I had been waiting too long. Another 7 minutes passed. What really got under my skin was when Trini (sp?) Came over I realized she had looked over at my table a coyple times while serving other tables so she knew I was there. At this point I was still hungry, already had plenty of time to read the menu a few times and was ready to order. She blew it!! Introduced herself and asked me if I wanted to start with a drink. I said that I was ready to order and had already been waiting for a long time. That is her cue to pretend she gives a crap. Nope. I get an "OKAY". I said nevermind, I think I'm going to leave. She said, "ok, have a good night (sarcastically) and huffs off. Now I see why there aren't many of these places around. Hopefully someone coaches that terrible server. She shouldn't be working with the public. Too bad that went sour. I was looking forward to a nice little dinner.

Good food and fast friendly service. My club sandwich was good. It could have used a little more meat.

Ew. This is not the Big Boy (Frisch's) I have grown accustomed to visiting growing up in southern Ohio. This is a pale and strange facsimile. This is the airport food of the Big Boy chain. That's no coincidence, I guess, since it is off the same exit as DTW (Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan Airport). I heard a server ask a guy at another table "Do you want an 'Ohio' Big Boy?" Do all of these places have their own take on it? Weird. So, I noticed that my favorite open-faced roast beef sandwich was not on the menu. So I ordered the Pot Roast instead, thinking it would pretty much be the same thing, except without the bread- right? I asked for a cherry rootbeer- which the lady did not understand at all. I just told her to go ahead and put cherries in a regular rootbeer. They know what I'm talking about in Ohio when I ask for that, but okay. Actually, they were the ones that got me STARTED on it, in Ohio. Anyway. They don't have the awesome pellet ice at this location either. Half the fun of coming here for me is the ice. I know that sounds weird. I added the soup and salad bar. That was the best move that I did all night. The Cream of Broccoli soup was good. Really good. The Chicken and Rice soup was just okay. The salad bar had a lot of really weird stuff on it that I wasn't about to try...but not a lot of options for actual SALAD. Strange. I was further disappointed when my entree arrived. I don't know why I expected pot roast would be meat. It looked like some kind of gelatinous soy cubes under a blanket of gel-ish gravy. Yikes. I ate a few bites of it and then played it off to the extremely sweet server that I had eaten too much soup. (At least I *was* full.) She convinced me to take it with me. 2 days later, it's still sitting in the hotel fridge, an unpleasant surprise for the cleaning staff... At least they didn't screw up the hot fudge cake. Then I'd have REALLY been angry. I still won't go back.

My husband and I try to go to Big Boy when we travel to Michigan to visit family. This was our first time at this location. (Visited Aug/2013) It was just down the street from our hotel saving us time, which is always nice. Compared to other Big Boy locations, this one was just OK. The staff was friendly, we were seated in a comfortable area. The table and floor was messy not a big deal to us), but the food was disappointing. This place was just lower quality than the other Big Boys we're familiar with. There was just too much grease and oil in the food. Great staff, just need better cooks.

I was very satisfied with this place. Service went well. I was served coffee by a couple different waitresses who were all polite. My coffee never got under half a cup! These are real people and I'm glad I came here despite previous reviews. I got the Southern Omelette and everything tasted good. I'm pleased!

I remember when this place was built and it was bustling with people. Unfortunately, it is now dated and dirty with very marginal service. The manager was to busy with a phone call to take my money when I checked out. Next time I'm in the area, I will go somewhere else.

**1.5 stars** This place is gross. My wife and I had a 3.5 hour layover and left the airport to meet friends at this dump. Service is SLOOOOOOW. I mean like 15 minutes to even come to your table get your soda order slow. Another 15 for her to come back with the sodas and another 15 to even take your food order...so 45 minutes gone before we even placed our food order. Btw, the place was practically empty so it's not like she was overburdened with orders. The food is not good at all and the restaurant could use a thorough cleaning. Avoid. Go to McDonalds or stay in the airport, they have lots of decent restaurants in there.

Not the Big Boy restaurant of my youth. No soul. I had the Brawny Lad, a BB classic. Served on a mushy rye bun rather than the grilled rye of yesteryear. Ick. Indifferent service. Quite disappointed.

I will say that the service was very friendly and efficient. The food was okay but nothing to write home about, but for 5$ and a buffet, you could do worse. The restaurant is rather run down looking and I think could really use a deep cleaning and new tables, lights, etc to freshen it up.

Nice people, but my food was horrible. Everyone else at the table said theirs was just OK... Waited for a while, but then when the food showed up, you could tell the bacon was precooked. The biscuits were cold, the sausage was cooked to the point of dry. Just not good.

Greeter had no personality and was lazy. Waitress was friendly but slow, never checked on me, no drink refill, and took a while for the check. Food decent although somewhat salty. Next time... Bob Evans. They're across the street and is much better. Returned on 5/29, service is much better. Added a star

Server was very attentive and outgoing to us, food was delicious and didn't have to wait long. Very reasonable price.

This Big Boy is located very close to DTW. The food was okay, but I wouldn't go here if you're in a hurry to catch a flight. There was only one server working and we sat for about 10 minutes before putting in our drink order. There were other long delays between each stage of our meal.

So my company puts me up in a hotel that's close to this Big Boy restaurant every time I'm in town for business. I walk down there pretty much every day for lunch when I'm staying at the hotel. I enjoy going there because, the people are great, the service is friendly and the food is always good. They have an excellent salad bar with 5 different homemade soups every day! You can get an all-you-can-eat soup and salad bar for around $7. Also, they have a mini banana split for a $1.50! And let me just say, the mini banana split if anything but mini! I have never ordered the full size but I can only imagine! The waitresses always remember exactly what I order and bring me my diet coke before even coming to say hello. I love the personalized service, and that they always remember where I work and what I do, and they always remember my order. It makes me feel like a VIP! The waitresses are your run-of-the-mill down home girls, working at the diner. This is a great place to view the locals. On a Sunday afternoon, you can always get the local scoop from the old men who are always sitting around talking about what's on the front page of the paper. the whole place just has that good homey feel to it! don't expect anything fancy, and you won't be disappointed!

We came in and ordered a couple of burgers. They were good, and the strawberry-cheesecake shake was great. The server was friendly, but there was a lot of yelling by the staff that was uncomfortable. I might come back if I was in town again.

Clean place. Fast service. Polite staff. The classic big boy was okay. The slaw is absolute garbage. The Peanut butter fudge shake was alright. Overall okay, but completely uninspiring.

Open until 12am, big boy special: a big boy and fries; a big boy combination: a big boy, fries & slaw. 40+ years to know this info! The Big Boy Restaurants that I favor are those operating under the Elias Brothers chain as opposed to Bob's. I like the Elias Brothers Big Boy Sandwich best. Everytime I am back in Elias Brothers territory I make sure I have a Big Boy. If you want Frisch's Big Boy do not go to Elias Brothers' Big Boy, plain and simple. Elias Brothers' is not Frisch's nor is it Bob's but it is my favorite and no matter which Elias Brothers' I eat at the Big Boy sandwich is the same and always tastes great.

This has to be one of the worst Big Boys around. Went for lunch today. Was not busy at all. There was hardly anything on the salad bar, except lettuce and a few pasta salads. All the soups were empty and no one bothered to fill anything up again. The waitess was nice and the rest of the food was served fast. The person working the cash register just sat back in the little room and didn't look up so finally we had to say "hello" so we could out of there and back to work.

Nothing really great here. The Big Boy combo was mediocre and flavorless. Don't waste your time or money at this restaurant.
