My wife and I were riding our mountain bikes along the paint creek trail and stopped here for a beer. The manager was very friendly and chatted with us. We only had a beer then split, but the weather on the patio was awesome and we had a nice peaceful drink. People around us were eating and their food looked good. I would stop in again for drinks, especially if the weather's good!

A total joke! Food was almost inedible. Salad was brown.....the Fish & Chips for $14.99'I might add looked like they belonged on a kids meal. The burger was horrible...some weird color of grey. Not to mention the Chips & Salsa was stale. Have a beer and enjoy the view but for gods sake don't eat here! Bill $75.......total joke!!

Quietly located behind main st. But next to paint creek lime lite offers a great quiet atmosphere for groups. During the summer sit out by the creek .Come and enjoy your self with friends. Drinks are reasonably priced and I think the whole being by the water and tucked away atmosphere is nice.

Poor service and rude staff. I asked for any glass of red that was opened recently and got an overpriced glass of two week old funk. Took forever to get a new glass and wouldn't you know, both ended up on the final bill. I did not feel welcome there at all.

Great location, right along the Paint Creek river, excellent outdoor patio. Downhill from there. 1) Hamburger took 45 minutes, which is really quite and an achievement considering you can buy a car and sign a mortgage in less time. 2) Hamburger was gray, not like fresh off the grill medium-well gray, but like frozen mush fresh from the microwave gray. And the consistency of day old mash potatoes. Which is actually an insult to day old mash potatoes. 3) The "ketchup" exploded. Pressurized ketchup? Plus it was pink, not red. And it had white little bead like fish eggs in it. Like a pressurized pink bukakke all over my straight male friend's face. Which, being a straight male, didn't go over well. 4) The "chicken" on the chicken wrap was something out of a science fiction horror film. I've never put a leather wallet threw a blender, but I'd imagine that's what it would look/taste like. To be fair, nobody actually ate the chicken because none of us felt like meeting our health insurance deducible so late in the year. I imagine if you soaked it in mustard and fed it to a pack of starving Ethiopians, the owner might be able to squeeze in a taste test... No promises. 5) The beer was cold and the waitress smoothed everything over with a free round of beers. (pretty sure she wanted the D) Anywho...All was good... then the owner showed up. What a shit show. Hearing his bar sucked in every way conceivable was like a child hearing that Santa isn't real. Frustration quickly turned into anger then ultimately denial. Other then all that the place wasn't half bad.

We walked around and around and followed the signs and went through like stairs and we couldn't even find this place so no

Awful, this would get negative stars if possible. This bar is perfectly located off of paint creek trail where I like to bike. Happened to come across this pub after a 20 mile bike ride. Beer was skunky and watered down. Ordered a chicken kabob and was told 15 minutes later that they ran out. Then ordered fried perch which was awful beyond belief. Maybe the fish wasn't fresh. Waitress was glacier slow and clueless. Needless to say will not visit again.

O'sheas... Oh gross. Food was poorly prepared. Sliders are just a frozen burger patty cut into quarters. Wings were overcooked and slathered in mediocre sauces. Menu pricing and quantities for differences between happy hour and standard menu weren't clean. Every glass we got was delivered in a disgustingly dirty glass. We were overcharged on the bill, to top things off. Wait staff was friendly, but not the most attentive. The view on the river is also nice. If you go to O'Sheas, don't come hungry, order bottled drinks, sit outside, and be patient.

I did love this place. Now I hate it. The worst pizza ever. Seems odd because it was great like a month ago. Not sure what happened but a large was half the size of the pan. It was burnt and drenched in grease and butter. Granted, even a bad pizza is still good pizza for pizza lovers like us. Just the bottom of my list...

This place is now called O'Shea's. I came here when it was the Lime Light to simply get drinks and watch sports. I though it was great for that and I still think that even with the name and owner change. The patio area is a great place to sit on a nice day. It is next to the Paint Creek and sometimes ducks will walk by. There are plenty of TVs on the patio as well as inside the bar. As I mentioned before, this place is great for watching sports and drinking alcohol. What I warn against is getting food here. I'm not a picky eater, but shitty food is shitty food. I got the salmon burger and my friend got mozzarella sticks. I thought the salmon on my burger would be a fillet or maybe breaded, but it wasn't either. The patty look strange as hell. It looked like they ground up salmon and formed it into a flat round disk shape. It was maybe a quarter inch think and it had prominent edges. It looked like they took their time sculpting it. That's probably why it took so long for our food to come out! Wtf..? My friend's mozzarella sticks were weird as well. Some were filled with cheese and some were hollow. What the hell? Why were they hollow? The funny part about the hollow sticks is that when my friend bit into them, the hollow stick wouldn't crush. They kept their cylindrical shape. What? Why? That's weird. I should add that my salmon burger tasted alright, but kinda smelled funny. Not fishy. Something else. Oh well... I didn't get sick. So yeah, don't eat here. The food fucking SUCKS! Just get a drink, watch sports, and tip well. All will be good.

They changed the name to O'Shea's but it is pretty much the same place as before with the same owner as well. Ribs were good. Turkey burger too. But what puzzles me is the so-so service and the dive-mentality of the bar. It smells like a bad dive. It looks like a dive bar. But it sits right on Paint Creek. It has one of the best views in Oakland County and the property is wasted on a dive-like pub which needs updating so badly. It was Saturday night and the place was practically empty.

The only thing positive about this place is the beautiful view of Paint Creek if you sit outside. Otherwise this place was awful. When we arrived no one was at the host stand for a good 10 mins. Finally a serve walked by and rudely informed us to seat ourselves. After doing so we waited an additional 10 mins for someone to take our drink order. Everything about this place was slow! The crowd here was very young. If your a college student, go here! If your over 30, I suggest going somewhere else.

Went there on a Friday evening and they had specials on hamburgers. I tried one and i loved it! Beer was good! Waiter service was good. Outdoor patio is nice.

Came here this past weekend. This place is no longer Limelight, it's now called O'Shea's. We have eaten here when it was Limelight and had a lackluster experience, so we thought we would try out O'Shea's. The other reviews stated that their service was horrible, and I think the new owners have picked up on that because our service was stellar. There were two servers out on the patio and they were tag-teaming tables like crazy. We never waited more than 5 minutes for anything. The patio is absolutely GORGEOUS! The river runs right next to it, making the patio a pretty serene place. Plus there are TVs outside - perfect for watching the Tigers play! The actual place itself is kind of grungy though. The patio needs a good powerwash and they need to clean the cobwebs and the bugs out of the lights. It's a relatively new place (when it was Limelight even) and it looks like it's been there for decades. Paint Creek Tavern has a cleaner patio and that's really saying something because let's be real... it's Paint Creek Tavern. The menu is pretty pitiful though. They have about 20 items and it's just your typical bar food. Our food came out piping hot and everything tasted really fresh and good. My husband ordered the tuna melt (which I was like... ew tuna? Really?), but the waitress told him that they make it fresh everyday so he ordered it. I had a bite and it was actually very good! It was really fresh tuna, not the can stuff, so I was pretty impressed by that. I recommend riding your bike here and taking in the river while enjoying a Tiger's game, a Tuna Melt and a nice cold beer :)

I'm not usually one to complain. But the owner of this facility is a world class asshole! We had a party of 8 adults and 4 toddlers ( who ordered Mac and cheese). It took 45 minutes to get a round of burgers and a couple of pathetic chicken wraps. A nacho came out with 4 pieces of chicken on it and what appeared to be cheese. It was sent right back. My wife refused her food along with several others. After negotiating with the manager that we would only pay for what we ate and the drinks, the owner came out. To keep this review readable, he told all of us that we would either pay for ALL the food or he would call the police ( even the food we didn't even eat). He then proceeded to tell us about the chefs he has on staff. Afterwards he snuck out the back door and left the premise. Leaving his staff to fend for themselves. Food=shit. Service=shit. Owner= local heart doctor charging 13.00 for a chicken wrap I wouldn't force feed my enemy. If you enjoy taking risks in life, by all means, throw your money on the table and just wait to see what could happen.

I rather spork my eye out then ever go here again. Grease pit, smells like smoke, the food is horrid. And when I asked NO ONIONS the girl just rolled her eyes at me. NO THANK YOU! ILL PASS!

I had very bad luck the last time I went here and would probably not go back if I wasn't with a group that wanted to go. I figured everyone deserves a second chance. Not this place! The best location in Rochester but the worst service in Rochester. Slow service with an arrogant college age girl makes for a bad experience. 1 star just for the location.

This place has changed its name to O'Sheas. DO NOT GO HERE EVER. Literally the worst service I've ever had. We wanted to sit on the patio, a group of 6, but that wasn't possible because it was full, so we sat inside. We were there for 30 minutes, literally the ONLY people inside the restaurant (which had more than enough staff that night) and not one single person came to take our order or ask us if we even wanted water. We even went and told a group of waiters (who were on the side just gossiping) that we were ready to order, and they said they'll be over in a few minutes (a lie). After half an hour we had enough and left. This place is dirty, the tables are sticky, the chairs feel like they're going to fall apart, and the service is absolutely HORRIBLE. I will never ever ever go back here, and I don't think you should either (unless you want a miserable experience). Its sad because the side place has so much potential but the horrendous staff is probably the reason they lose so much money and have to change ownership/their name so often.

I recently met up with a group of six other women for an evening out on their patio with drinks and some dinner. I was hoping the bad ratings regarding the slow service were far enough in the past that we wouldn't have the same experience, but unfortunately, we did. Our waitress was slow to bring drinks, slow to check on us, slow to take plates away..... and on top of that, two of us ordered their new BBQ burger, only to get our burgers with no BBQ sauce on them. It was just a plain burger with lettuce, tomato, and a couple of onion rings tossed on it - for $8.99. We ended up having our waitress bring us some BBQ sauce and we put it on the burgers ourselves. My waitress had also indicated to me that my beers were each $3, but when I got my bill, they were indeed $5 a piece. I asked why, and she said because I had ordered an import; however, I had specifically asked her both times I ordered the beers if they were each $3, and she'd said yes. I was not too happy. I would not return to this bar, nor would I recommend that others go there. They do have a nice patio overlooking the Clinton River, but apart from that, I don't think there is anything impressive about this place.

My neighbor describes the food at Lime Light perfectly; 'Well, the nachos are decent." The patio has the best view in the area. The bar is usually filled with the every other seat of single lonely business man or local watching the game. Once the DJ starts you can barely hear yourself think. However, on a hot summer night, the air inside is cold and Oberon is on tap for a $6 tall. If it wasn't for the location, Tigers on tv and Oberon on tap, I probably would not frequent this joint.

If you like "OK" food with an owner who blatantly breaks the nonsmoking law, come to this restaurant. I went there to dine in their outdoor area. Soon, people began smoking openly. When I protested, they said the owner said that it was OK. I found out later, that the owner was sitting out there and smoking also. I ask, it you break that law, what other cleanliness/health laws are you breaking that customers don't know about????

I don't know where to begin with this horrendous night. Our waitress didn't show up for 20 minutes, took our order, another 10 minutes to bring a pitcher of beer. Another 5 minutes to bring a glass to pour it in and the tonic w/lime. An hour later, she finally shows up to ask if we'd like another and we ordered another tonic w/ lime. 20 minutes later, no drink.. she acknowledges she forgot... and another 20 minutes, she acknowledges she forgot again. 10 minutes after that we got the drink, loaded with 8 lime slices. Did she think that would appease us? By now we're disgusted and ready to check out, so I asked her to cash us out... 20 minutes later I have to ask the bartender to get our waitress to cash us out because she disappeared again. I told the bartender it's been the worst service I have ever experienced. When the waitress finally arrived, I told HER too that she was the worst server I'd ever seen. Before I let her leave (I didn't let her just drop the check there and walk away), I counted out 14 dollars for the 13.25 tab (for a pitcher of beer and two tonic w/lime drinks) in front of her, so she knew I wasn't leaving her a tip. The only reason I did leave the 75 cents was because I didn't want to sit there for another 20 minutes waiting on the change. It would have been understandable if the place was busy, but she (our waitress) spent most of her time standing by the drink station.....ignoring us. I suppose it would have been a better experience with another waitress. I hope she reads this because I usually tip 15% for BAD restaurant service, 30% for good restaurant service and almost 50% for good bar/drink service. I don't remember her name, and I know she wasn't one of the younger servers, but she worked after 9pm on karaoke night (thursday) at the two high-top tables in front of the karaoke station. I think she needs to find a different job...hopefully not in the service industry.

This is now o'sheas Don't come here with a large group. They will no accommodate you. Even if you call ahead and say 20 people are coming for the USA soccer game. They will only have one bartender on. Be warned avoid this bar!!!!

Had enough of this place I have been coming here for years for dinner. Over the last year the service has become terrible, and on one occasion I had to send back my burned nachos after having to argue about it. My recent (and last) experience involved a long wait time until the food was delivered. The couple next to us got so irritated with their wait they were about to leave when their waitress indicated the food was coming right up. Also, I had asked for the bill and it felt like it took forever. I had to tell my waitress I needed to cash out quickly in an effort to get out of there. It was obvious this request irritated her because she barley spoke to me after that point. I don't understand how a restaurant business can survive with this type of treatment.

This bar is now called O'Shea's. We used to go to Limelight and really enjoyed ourselves. I have been to O'Shea's twice in the last 2 weeks with a large group. The first time our large party came in to watch a game, we gave them no warning, and I thought they did a fairly great job of accommodating us. Food was very slow, but I was told a cook had recently quit. The male bartender took great care of us. We decided to all go back a few days later and gave them 24 hour notice a large group would be coming in on a Sunday afternoon. When we arrived, the place was pretty empty except for our group. The older, female bartender (who we had spoken to on the phone about coming) seemed instantly overwhelmed and annoyed at our presence. We tried asking her happy hour specials and instead of answering our question, she would let out a big sigh, put up her finger and run to the back. Honestly, she acted kind of nuts. Her service was worse and worse as the night went on, snapping at members of our group, ignoring questions and continually glaring. She made everyone feel very uncomfortable. I ordered food and after 1 hour it still had not arrived. Since the game had ended and we were leaving, I asked her to take it off of me bill. I had to actually argue with her for minutes, since she originally refused and said when it came out she would put it in a to-go box...Ironically, it was the other bartender's first day, and she did an awesome job. I hope the owner of O'Shea's reads this and knows that 1 member on their staff is losing them customers (and in this case- about 25 of them). I don't see this place being around very long.

This was our second time visiting this restaurant and I must say the second time was much better than the first. We went on a Sunday evening and it was not very busy. It seemed like the bartender was wearing several hats on that day as a cashier, bartender and a waiter. He was really great at serving us and he came by a few times to check to make sure our food tasted good. I really liked that he was really working hard to make sure our visit to the restaurant was a pleasant one. The food was really good too. Both times I ordered the fish and cheaps and it was great both times. I will definitely go back again when in the area. Great job!

Had to update my review after trying the pizza for the first time tonight. It was the Mediteranean, and although the server said it had lots of veggies - olives, green peppers, etc. It came with two toppings - chicken and pepperoncini. The crust was crust, the sauce was like unflavored tomato sauce, and the cheese was flavorless. The chicken was dry. We also had the buy one get one free order of wings. They were very good - well done, topped with terriyaki (one of a half dozen or more choices). Still, the only redeeming quality about this place is the creek-side patio.

After walking around the heat of Dancin' in the Streets downtown, my Mom and I decided to stop somewhere for dinner. We stopped at Limelight. We walked in and no one greeted us. Was it seat yourself? Were we suppose to wait for someone? No one paid us any attention, so we did indeed seat ourselves. A waitress quickly stopped by. She was very knowledgeable about what the specials were of the day - drinks and food. My Mom went for a Bud Select and I had a coke. I continued to be surprised when I get "bar coke" as I like to think of it when I go out. That not quite correct combination of syrup and carbonation. It's not nearly as satisfying as a "real" coke. We ordered a Large Neapolitan Style Pepperoni Pizza to split. It came and it was a fantasticly thin crust pizza, although not that crispy thin that is my favorite. But it more then made up for in the taste department. My Mom quickly dubbed it the best pizza she's ever had, rivaling even NYC pizza (We just got back from NY last month). It had this almost salty taste about it that was just delicious. That's a bad description, but I cannot describe it any other way. Although it was a large pizza we were able to finish off the pie between the two of us, and neither of us are very big eaters. It was 8 slices but as I mentioned - thin. A lot of other people got pizza while we were there and I'm glad that's what we decided on. My only complaint was that our server never offered us new drinks. Didn't ask either of us if we wanted another. She would just stop by and say, everything okay? Maybe I'm being picky, because she did stop by and ask, but in my opinion, if you see an empty glass you should ask if they want more, not wait for them to have to tell you. But none the less, fantastic pizza. I work down the street and feel that I may see if they do take out.

Food is just OK. They seem to have a lot of new wait persons that don't know the menu, and cannot explain beer choices or happy hour specials. We attempted to utilize two different coupons that the 'new' management refused to honor so ask before ordering if this is important. ( Resteraunt.com and 10% off fundraiser card for local high school). As a final comment on their attention to customer service, we left without getting our credit card back after paying the bill. I would have thought that they would try to contact us, but instead they chose to hang on to it and make us figure out where we misplaced it. The only real attraction is the patio by the river.

Dr. Atallah - worst resturaunt experience in a very long time. Wait staff is young and inexperienced. Long wait for drinks and food. Would not honor coupon. Won't be back!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. It took five minutes to order a beer. I watched the staff walk around the bar twenty times and pass by my girlfriend and I each time. Then was not told what specials were. I ordered wings. I should of saved my money for dog food because that is what it tasted like. But ounce I figured out the beer specials they had a good 3.00 tall. Over all its a drinking bar nothing else.

  • Jeff C.

The food is just OK but the patio is really nice. Very relaxing to hang out with friends on that patio at night. Although Mary made a good point that people do still smoke on the patio. Granted they are on the side of the patio but nonetheless they are still on the patio which I found surprising.

  • Ryan S.

The best thing going for this place is the patio. It's spacious, on the water, and a stone's throw from the paint creek trail. Beyond that, it's a pretty standard sports bar, with various day-specific specials. 22oz coors, PBR's and bud select were $3, thursday after 9pm they go down to $2. Depending on what you get, the food is average bar fare. Pizzas are a good bet, and they have beer battered fries which are quite delicious. I have nothing overly praiseful to say about the waitstaff, we waited longer than normal for drinks or special requests, but they were nice enough and our main entrees were served expediently. If you have a group and want a nice place to hang out, it's pretty good.. especially considering it's in rochester hills. Go for the patio unless you're trying to watch a game or there's incliment weather.

  • Dan N.

So this normally would probably be a 3-star review, but given it's location, right off of the Paint Creek Trail, gives it an easy bump up to 4-stars. This is the BEST place to stop at the end, or in the middle of a long bike ride on the trail. HUGE outdoor patio, which really never seems to fill up all the way. A few things I LOVE about this place: --the Chicken Nacho's are AWESOME--strongly suggest them as an app, or even to split as a mid-ride snack --the beer is FREEZING cold. There is something to be said about a beer so cold that the top forms a layer of ice--especially on a hot, 90-degree day. Be careful though, if this is a stopping point in your ride, the ride home will be a bear.

As Rochester bars go, this is another one. My friends and I came here on a Wednesday night because it was my friend's birthday and he promised he'd get drunk enough to fall in the Paint Creek River. He did get drunk, but it was too cold for water sports. This place is huge. Very huge. Lots of space is nice on Saturdays, but on a week day night, it seems too much. They had karaoke, so I had fun with that and most of the singers were surprisingly good. The crowd was of that Mr. B's flavor. Older Oakland U students and grads. The bartenders were very friendly and I noticed that the bartenders that used to take exceptional care of my at The Commons at Royal Park Hotel now work here. The food seemed to be quite expensive for what it was. My friend ordered a basket of fried shrimp, chicken fingers and fries (or as I called it, "the beige special") and it came to $10.99. Whoa. My other friends ordered chips and salsa. I'm pretty sure the salsa was just tomato paste in vinegar. Definitely get mixed drinks. As I said, the bartenders here really take care of you. I stupidly opted for the beer special, $3 pints of either Coors or PBR. That's like choosing a finger to the eye, or a kick to the crotch. Overall, if you're looking for another place to park your butt in downtown Rochester, try this place out. It doesn't really add anything to the game, but it makes for a nice change of scenery.
