I was craving a corned beef with coleslaw sandwich,so I ordered on -line from Bread Basket. My order was ready when I got there less than 10 minutes later. The ladies working are very friendly and courteous. The sandwich.......well I have to say it was huge. However, it tasted salty to me and was kind of fatty. The slaw on it was ok but the accompanying pickle was more like a tasteless, flabby cucumber. I generally drive into Detroit to Hygrade Deli for my corned beef sandwiches but was feeling lazy today. Lesson learned. I don't think I'll return to Bread Basket.the cost was $11.12 w/tax.For that price, I'll make the trip to the city.

I went here for lunch a little while ago with some people from work. The place definitely fits the definition of a dive. It's old and needs to be updated a lot, but I didn't come here for the ambiance. I have to admit, I was a bit tired. After a week of getting called a couple times every night, I forgot to make lunch and just wanted something to eat. I don't know how much a single sandwich costs, but a corned beef with slaw, fries, and a can of Faygo cost me $14 with change. Looking at the place, you'd expect to pay half that. The sandwich was in fact really good. Lots and lots of meat, good rye. The fries were just alright. Would I go there again? Hey, I like a good quality sandwich, but I can't swing that kind of money.

Of all the "Bread Basket" delis in the Detroit area, this is by far the best. My friend Dan got the corned beef with russian dressing and cole slaw (look for number 17 and a half, wet and wild, on the menu). It was huge and he had enough left over to be both overly satisfied AND to give the dog a special treat. I got the matza ball soup which was a veggie "chicken" broth with a huge ball. It was hot and tasty. I also got the cole slaw, which was highly recommended by the counterperson (justifiably so!). It was cruchy, freshly made, and had just enough dressing but not too much. They also have Dr. Brown's soda's here (although they don't carry the Cel-Rey flavor, which is my favorite). The staff are friendly and will happily give you extras (bread for your soup/salad, half-sour pickles, etc). Best of all, they open until 10pm, which is late for delis in this neck of the woods.

Had a taste for great corned beef sandwich. Living in Detroit you know if you want great corned beef you go to Bread Basket. I've been going to this location for years, so imagine my face when I get home with my sandwich and it was a fraction of the size that I'm used to. Coupled with the fact that the prices have increased I felt robbed. The bread has changed and my onion roll actually tasted bland. The roll was smaller than in the past which allows them to put less meat on the sandwich. I was so disappointed that I think the've lost a loyal customer.

Horrible service. We are the only two people in the place and it's taken over forty five minutes to get our food. If I wasn't starving I would have walked out. Food is good though.

'Bread Basket Deli In Redford has earned the title as #1 over Livonia and Lincoln park cannot judge against the other B.B. delis haven't been to them in awhile I ordered the Pastrami on rye with Russian dressing the sandwich was full of meat like the old B.B. used to be I could only eat one half of the sandwich it was a regular 8 oz sandwich now I know I was cheated out of meat from Lincoln Park and Livonia B.B. deli like the old lady used to say wheres the beef shame on you

If you want corned beef or pastrami, this is the place to go. The sandwiches are plentiful and tasty. The cashier was friendly and the service was good. The Bread Basket is a great deli that stays open late. I'm-glad my in-laws introduced me to this place.

Awesome corn beef, I get a number 17 grilled small or regular. Large is good if you didn't have lunch. Also they have sweet potato pie.

Great Reuben...if you like reubens then this is your spot. The place is definitely in the "dive" category...so come as you are. If the tables are wiped down you are good to go! All I ate the day I went here was a sandwich. It kept me satisfied all day. And I had to leave a couple slices of corned beef untouched...holy moly.

This is my local Bread Basket (my original review is for the Middlebelt location). When my fiancé and I moved into our house, and we noticed that Bread Basket was two blocks away, we knew it was going to be dangerous. Yes, it's a little pricey, but for a great, delicious sandwich, it's worth it. Get the corned beef. The pastrami is great, too, but the corned beef is the real star. I love the 17 1/2, or the 18 1/2, cause I am all about the meat, swiss, coleslaw, and russian dressing combo. The service is friendly and quick, cause this is a lesser trafficked location! Also, skip the onion rings- nothing to write home about.

Love this place! Have been here several times and have NOT been disappointed in the least. Sandwiches are a trademark and I have had several that are all special and delicious. Bigger appetite, have dinner here. Do not get a salad or a soup...this place is made for sandwiches...Please do yourself a favor and only get those as an addon to your sandwich. Not fancy (no white linen) but the food will wow! The food is great and the staff is friendly! Everything is delicious and fresh meats. Never had a funky tasting sandwich. You will not be disappointed! My only knock against this place is I'll get threre at lunchtime during the week and there is long lines : ( but should be expected at a good deli. Go to the web site and get a dollar off coupon : D is has an expired date but they hook you up and take car of you (i.e. it is honored...sweet) Oh and every good sandwich needs a pickle to eat with it. Thumbs Up.

Actually this may just be better than the Inkster rd location! Quick service, offer sides of extra Russian dressing & cole slaw for under $1.00..I do love to play, remember my order without writing it down here!! I am happy to say, it's always been rperfect!

I have been coming here for over 12 years now ........This used to be the place for a high quality corned beef sandwich. I was here last week and the same owners cut the sandwich portions 1/2 in size for some reason. Just TERRIBLE.........I will never eat here again......... Just.....HORRIBLE.........I complained to deaf ears here.......They cheapened up on the meat portions with the same high prices as before.......... Robbers! PS.......I have noticed that they have recently added an "extra meat" option to the main menu for extra money.....This was never there before because the sandwiches from there never needed "extra meat" in the past ?

I am a fan of Bread Basket, although this location does not get the ratings the Livonia location does. This is a bigger restaurant than the Middlebelt Plymouth Rd location, and has more room to sit. The flavor and quality is the same as the other one, but its just missing something. I do not enjoy going anywhere that requires bullet proof glass, and if it requires a guard I say no way (unless of course its a bank). I read a review about a different place where the reviewer said "it has a rent-a-cop guarding the cars", really do we think think this is a positive??? I don't really need to go to a place that requires a guard. Call me a snob that way! This place does not have a guard, but it still has a very real reminder that "we are afraid of getting robbed", so whatever put that fear in them, well...that level of security simply does not extend to the customers. So for this I bump it down a couple notches. Bottom line, if you are a risk taker and like to live on the edge, and like great corned beef and other great deli delights, then here ya go.
