While my hubs, his cousins and I were wandering around downtown Petoskey and soaking up the warm weather, we decided to grab some lunch at PD. It's located nestled between a few businesses and a park behind the deli. The store itself is pretty small, but they do offer seating that faces the window, so you can people watch while you chomp on your sandie. I actually felt really claustrophobic and nauseous, so I immediately went outside and sat at the small tables (enough for two) thats in front of the deli. Since I wasn't feeling well, I missed out on the ordering process, but do remember the staff being very welcoming and patient. Before I stepped out, I did get a chance to quickly browse the menu and had my hubs order me an egg salad sandwich. I was shocked when the sandie came out because it was just big in height and definitely did not skimp on any ingredients. The egg salad sandie came with lettuce, tomato, BACON and a side of pickle. And the bread was perfect! I'm not sure which bread came with the sandie, but it was two thick fluffy white bread that soaked some of the egg salad mixture. The sandie had a little too much mayo for my liking, but I would definitely get this again. This is a perfect deli to dine in or out at, during the warmer months!

This is a pale pale specter of the Flat Iron. They've imitated the ordering system but missed what was great about the previous establishment: the sandwiches. None of the condiments are up to snuff. The meat is great and the service is good. But if you want a good sandwich in Petoskey you should go to roast and toast (they nail the turkey avocado club every time). But if the line at roast and toast is too long, it's understandable that you'd seek a poor imitation of a once great institution.

Great sandwiches. Great prices. Would get five stars if it wasn't for some (not all) of the new summer staff members being grumpy and unpleasant. Hopefully they check their negative attitude so I can go back and enjoy their great food!

Bread and sandwich was good but terrible customer service and no manager in sight on a busy saturday afternoon. Tons of great places in Petoskey, skip this one.

what a delight. stumbled into here looking for lunch passing thru Petosky. Where can you find sandwiches made from home made bread and hand sliced? Absolutely delicious. to make the afternoon even better, the day was beautiful and could eat in the beautiful park right outside the door. Great food, great friendly service and you must try the chicken salad. Will be back next time in the area. I hope the people of Petosky keep these young ladies in business!

we stopped in for lunch while visiting family in Petoskey. it was very busy, but after we ordered we were able to wait for our food in the park right outside. my kids love that you can get calypso lemonade. the sandwiches were delicious. thick slices of soft bread, very generous serving of meat, and yummy deli sauce. the prices are great for the size of the sandwich you get. will definitely be back when in the area!!!
