Delicious! This place was everything we hoped it would be! The pot pie, wraps and fiesta salad were all terrific. We had multiple desserts, mountain Betty pie, turtle brownie, pumpkin pie, and lemon pie but our favorite was the coconut pie!! The only bad part is that we're from Texas so it'll be a long time before we get to eat here again.

I've used the Traverse City locations several times to cater lunches for work and they have been great, so I thought I'd give the Petoskey store a try. The girl working behind the counter was very nice, but was unsure how to answer my questions regarding food allergies (I had one person with a nut allergy in my order and was concerned about hidden ingredients). I was looking over the menu and she asked one of the line cooks to come help me since he knew the ingredients better. He proceeded to hand me a menu (identical to the one in my hand) and walked away. Frustrated, I asked to speak to a manager. The girl offered to get her and returned nearly 10 minutes later saying she was too busy to speak with me (note: there were 3 other customers in the restaurant). I took my business over to Roast and Toast where they were happy to assist me and provided a delightful meal. To the proprietors at Petoskey GT Pie -- you need to train your staff better. Listen to your customers. Don't rest on your laurels. There are plenty of great options in your town.

This is a follow up on the unpleasant experience we had at this location a few weeks ago. My complaint was followed up by the Business Social Media Manager AND the Director of Operations for Grand Traverse Pie Company. I truly appreciated them reaching out to me to rectify the situation. A company who listens to its customer AND follows up is a sign of a truly good company. Thank you so much Jim and Erin. I hope your Petoskey store franchise learns from the great example you've set forth. My faith has been restored in Grand Traverse Pie Company and I will continue to try your delicious pies whenever I am back in town!

Speciality coffees are not done well. Lunch Food is just ok. I love that there is a lot of space to sit and talk and work . The pies are amazing !

A little pricey for my taste, but their pies (both dessert and main course) are SO good! The beef pot pie I had was absolute perfection. Only other complaint is that they're cookies aren't that great. However, it's a pie place, not a cookie place, so what do you expect?

There are few times that you can buy chicken pot pies that are this special. I came into this restaurant thinking all they sell is pie, but never further from the truth. This place has marvelous sandwiches, salads, breakfast items, and every manner of fresh pie, all reasonably priced. Do not miss this jewel!

The pie is sweet and delicious! Would recommend this place to tourists and passerbys looking to snack before they head to the beach!

Go here. Eat Pie. Take a nap. Eat more pie. Drink milk. Buy a personal small pie, all for yourself. Take another nap. Ask for a fresh pie to take home to family. Eat again. Pass Out. So, all in all. Go here. Eat pie. Enjoy. Apply Pie = coma Cherry Pie = all over my face Pies come either with a crumb crust or old fashioned crust. Either way....its PIE! Delicious. Do it.

For a girl who generally doesn't like pie..I love this place! I have to stop whenever I am near one in Michigan! This time around I had the Strawberry Rhubarb. The crumble on top of most (if not all) is just heaven. Their pies are sweet but not over the top. The bottom crust is not overwhelming, just a supporting cast member. All of the flavors are just scrumptious! They also have small pies, regular-size pies, cookies, and a variety of cookie bars. Just shop your day away in downtown Petoskey and then take a break and have a piece of pie..or two. :) Oh... And very clean and great customer service. They were having credit card machine issues and took it all in stride.

Best piece of strawberry rhubarb crumb I've ever tasted. Very friendly staff. All remodeled inside with plenty of seating.

The strawberry rhubarb pie was incredible. It was even still warm on the bottom when I bought it. Great to have there or take away for a picnic, BBQ, etc. the only thing I would suggest is selling bags of fresh seasonal fruit as well, but I think I just really wanted to eat some fresh local cherries that day!

I was in Petoskey shopping around and wanted a cup of coffee. I was pleasantly surprised. The pie was absolutely wonderful. A must stop if in town and want a place to sit in a quiet spot and enjoy a cup of joe and tasty desert.

The food is okay and prices are good but I was disappointed by the service. My quiche was lukewarm and the owner was rude when I asked to have it warmed. The quiche was nothing special, so the rude service made it even less enjoyable.

Stopped in for lunch and to pick up dessert for dinner that I was going to. My chicken sandwich was delicious. The pies all looked good, but we opted for a huge carrot cake bundt cake. It was woefully decorated, but the whole thing must have weighed over 10 pounds. It was moist and yummy and full of nuts and everything else a carrot cake should be full of. The decorating job was a trainwreck but still tasted good.

Tasty sandwiches and outrageously good pie. We tried the blueberry crumb and key lime--DELISH! My favorite part of my visit to this location was the incredibly kind and well-mannered young man running the register--Joe. What a sweetie. Can't wait to return on my next visit to Michigan.

We went for lunch after church and it was a delight! The order that was placed was received ten fold! The sandwich was spot on as was the side of coleslaw. For dessert I went with the blueberry cobbler which was perfect. So if your in down town Petsokey looking for a great lunch pop in to the Grand Traverse Pie company for a great lunch.

The pie is good, but the lunch is really pretty average despite many reviews to the contrary here. Think going with desserts is the best choice.

Grand Traverse Pie Company has some pretty good pie - the stawberry rhubarb pie and mixed berry pie were both excelent on a recent visit. The staff was friendly as well.

While visiting Petosky we come upon this "Grand Traverse Pie Company". We decide to come in and take a break and have a piece of pie. WOW WOW WOW..is all we both can say. Between the cherry, lakeshore pie, apple pie....we had to come back several times to try different ones..They also have a great website and that they also ship anywhere. If you order one pie then you don't need to pay shipping for a second pie. You pick the day of delivery and they also ship it to arrive fresh, and packaged securely. This time around we ordered our favorite one *apple crumb* and tried the chocolate ganache. Both were delicious and this is going to be a new holiday tradition for us. Consider giving a gift of the "pie of the month club" as well. This place was also featured on Oprah Winfrey. YES it is that good!

Best apple crumb pie I've ever had, EVER.

Very good sandwiches. Always a treat. These folks are the Absolute Kings when it comes to Pie. Keep going back and try them all. The entire shop is compulsively clean and tidy every time I go in. This is one of a rotation of about four places in Petoskey I like to stop by for lunch from time to time. Try the little tables on the sidewalk in the summer and watch the tourists ramble by.

I like this place very much. My only comment is that every time I've come in, they out out of my favorite - chicken pot pie. This has never happened to me in the Traverse City location.

  • Mike E.

You don't really need anything else when you serve pie like this place - although fresher coffee would have helped. Definitely thinking about ordering a pie for delivery to Raleigh for the holidays!

Nice spot in downtown Petosky. Frequent the other GTPC in the metro Detroit area. They are all quite consistent with their food prep.

If Panera Bread was awesome, it would be something like this. The Grand Traverse Pie Company serves tasty sandwiches, soups, and pot pies, not to mention excellent fruit and cream pies for dessert. Even though they are kind of a chain (13 locations in Michigan), it doesn't really feel too commercial and it's definitely worth stopping by for lunch if you're in the Petoskey area.

The food is slightly above Panera, but the pie is oh-so-good. Tried the blueberry with crumb topping, and I'm still thinking about it.

This restaurant is pretty much like a Panera- Panera with good pie. I had peach blackberry cobbler and chocolate pie. The chocolate pie was better than you get at most places (I miss you, South! You know how to make cream pie the amazing way). However, it overall isn't that great in the overall pie scheme. However, the peach blackberry cobbler was amazing. I had it twice in my week in Petoskey. I also had a chicken salad sandwich. Average.

I don't like pies. The other food here is good, but leans towards pricey for what you get (as per usual in Petoskey). I was glad to see something go in that building and stick. Another restaurant that I don't seek out myself, but I wouldn't turn down an invite from a friend to meet up for lunch there.

Alison is right - The Grand Traverse Pie Company is like an upscale Panera Bread - without the chain restaurant feeling. Their pot pies and chicken salads are delicious, and the people are very friendly. Plus, free Wifi and power outlets at nearly every table make it an ideal place to get work done (and give a positive Yelp review!).

While passing through town the other week, we stopped here for some pie as I had read many great things about it. The blueberry cobbler was wonderful - be sure to get it heated up! I also had a bite of my husband's apple pie. It was good, too, but nothing beats the cobbler!

My favorite here is their greek salad with a bowl of their soup of the day! I would give 5 stars, but there was a time where my white chicken chili (which would have otherwise been perfect) was served luke warm. salad and soup are served with a couple of slices of bread. soft, fluffy bread. YuM! They always have a beautiful display of various different types of pies and quiches. Great place for lunch.
