Mediocre sandwich shop. Had a BLT. Bacon was weak, it was $8.

Went for lunch since I loved the catering they did for a friend, so I figured i'd try the deli shop and it was everything I expected.......WONDERFUL!! My Sandwich "Artist" was the General Manager and she was very pleasant and super knowledgeable! She told me the whole story about the owners starting from a small shop at Dominos Farms to now operating over 10 eateries! I love hearing wonderful local successful family owned companies! She also said how much she loved working for them and that the food especially the catering has really expanded because of the talented Chefs they have and a new VP that is really focusing on new menus! It was so pleasant to talk to her. My sandwich was nice and large, perfect for my appetite and the pricing is spot on. There are a LOT of places that claim to be better and are WAY to overpriced!! The cafe is very boutiquish and very clean. I suggest you come in before the lunch rush and chat with the staff.....they tell me the owners pop by all the time too!!

I have mixed feelings about this place. I've only been there once, and I'm not sure if there is any need to go back. While there were a lot of options, all of them were pretty run of the mill. No interesting ingredients, no unique combinations. I went there for pastrami, which they were out of, so I settled for the roast beef. While it tasted good, it was cold inside, and was pretty pricey ($9). Calling their sandwiches "works of art" is a little pretentious since there is nothing notable about them. If you want a decent, overpriced, uninspired, sandwich, this is the place for you.

Great sandwiches, especially love the Vermeer's Veggie! Nice little patio out front as well. Bonus points for serving Better Made potato chips!

Picasso Café's motto is that "every sandwich is a work of art" and in my opinion everything they serve is a work of art! From the well thought out sandwiches and wraps to the savory soups, Picasso Café should become your new go-to lunch spot! Open Monday -Friday 730am-4pm & Saturday 10am-4pm Picasso has a variety of sandwiches, soups and salads as well as breakfast and coffee. Their giant chalkboard menu that is spread across the back wall describes each item. My personal favorites are the Skipjack Tuna Salad sandwich served with chips & a pickle (sm. $6.95 lg. $8.95) or any of the Veggie Tweeners (Avacado Veggie, Balsamic Veggie or Hummus and Fattoush). If you cannot decide which incredible item to indulge in, you can go for the "Half it Your Way" and get two of the following: a 1/2 sandwich, small salad or bowl of soup for $7.55. Picasso Cafe is family owned and operated which always gives a restaurant a special touch. They pride themselves on using high quality ingredients and supporting the local community. The café walls are covered with pieces by local artists; some that are for sale. The staff is extremely friendly and if you pop in for lunch, they will get you in and out! GREAT FOR CATERING!

Stopped in on a whim to somewhere else to just get something to eat since we couldn't decide. We were pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere, food was phenomenal and the small hiccups they had, they were on top of every little item and very attentive. We will most certainly be back.

I'm going to give this place another shot because it's too cute, with too much variety -- I'll eventually find something I like, right? -- to be just two stars, but that's how I would rate my first trip. I ordered a $9 meal of half a sandwich and a bowl of soup. For the very reason I settled with the turkey abstract under "works of art" was the downfall: the mix of cranberry sauce, light cream cheese and horseradish sauce. It was just too much. I like condiments to be a complement to the meat, even if it's only turkey, not be overpowering. The cranberry walnut bread that it was on was also unusual. I think a plainer bread would've worked better with all the various flavors going on in between the slices. I did not take more than one bite, and I hate wasting food. As for the soup, the chicken chili did not have chicken. I was tempted to ask if I even got the right one, but it was the only chili on the menu. Instead, it was all beans, with garlic croutons and cheese on top. No spice. I couldn't tell you whether the chili base was thin or thick because it really was ALL beans. I'm disappointed that what I thought was a unique sandwich selection just didn't work. Sometimes, you take a chance and it just doesn't fit your taste buds. Sometimes, it works. This time, it was the former. Finally, the cost. Nine bucks without a drink. So if I had gotten one, it would've been around $11-$12, which is outrageous because it's half a sandwich and a bowl of soup. However, I do like the cafe. I love that they support the local arts community. There are works of art on the walls that are for sale. This is really why I am willing to revisit.

After reading the reviews and getting sick of the same places over and over for carry out lunch at work, my co-workers and I decided to give it a shot. Our first call we waited on hold for 10 minutes, we hung up and tried calling back (no exaggeration) 11 more times with no answer. I should have given up there but my curiosity took over so I went there, with the thought in my head...if it's that busy it must be crazy good. Curiosity always kills the cat. It was steady, but not so busy they couldn't pick up the phone. It didn't appear they had a very good flow going behind the counter. I ordered for 3 people, 20 minutes later I got our food. Get back to the office, and my abstract turkey sandwich had limp bread, no sprouts, no lettuce, no horseradish. The "chef" salad was the sorriest looking salad I've ever seen, with no cheese might I add. So I try calling to explain my displeasure, of course no answer. I wanted to like it, I really did.

Nice decor, easy parking, friendly staff, tasty turkey bacon sandwich, but portion control is controlled way too much toward the stingy side. The Yelp food photos are misleading. Paid near $10 for the so called large sandwich. I expected more value for my money, but I'm glad I tried this place once. It was on my list.

Picasso Cafe is a straight forward soup, salad and sandwich place. But the food is always good and we've never had to wait long for our meals. The cafe has a lot of smaller tables and booths making it fairly easy to find a spot to sit even when it's busy. They also have different artists works around the restaurant that changes on a regular basis so you can check those out while waiting for your food. We've always had pretty good luck with getting our food promptly. Today, we had the large DaVinci's Bacon Turkey sandwich and a bowl of the Potato Au Gratin soup. Both came in portions large enough for 2 of us to share. The soup was rich with nice size chunks of potatoes and couple of large croutons. The sandwich was heavy with turkey which went well with the melted provolone cheese and bacon. The only missed note was the tomatoes which were typical "January in Michigan" tomatoes - pale and not very tasty. The sandwich also came with a tasty pickle and a bag of chips. Price-wise, Picasso Cafe is a little pricier than a fast-food place. But the quality of the food makes it worth it.

Very mediocre sandwiches and very over priced. Gave two stars because the sandwiches were not bad and the French onion soup was good. Certainly not worth the money though. Personally, I will not be returning.

Picasso Cafe is awesome! It is a true local gem in Novi. It has a unique artisan cafe atmosphere with a fairly extensive menu that includes a variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads. The Staff is friendly, quick, and efficient. They made me the wrong wrap, so I brought it back to the counter and they quickly remedied the situation and delivered the correct wrap to my table within minutes. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to eat at a cool, non-chain restaurant in the area. Check it out!

This is an excellent healthy place to get a wonderful lunch....Allen is so friendly, and all the staff is helpful.... I love the Chicken Salad Tweener "wrap" it is my favorite. The Potato Au gratin soup is really good also. They are now serving Starbucks coffee also. The artwork on the walls change every month to showcase a new local artist. The Sandwiches are a Work of Art.....

If you're looking for a delicious soup, sandwich or salad without breaking the bank for lunch, this is the place to check out! The Turkey Abstract and Symbolic Corned Beef are both winners in the sandwich category, and the chicken noodle soup was delightful! Service was quick and friendly and the dining area was clean and relaxed. Bonus points for being an independent business! WIll definitely be back to sample more of the menu!

Not too sure what everyone is raving about on here about this place. The Pastrami sandwich that I had was PATHETIC. The only good thing about my meal was the pickle. I will never go back.

For those of you residing in or near the Novi area, Picasso Cafe is a place that you must try. A family-owned business, their slogan is "where every sandwich is a work of art!" A work of art indeed for my eyes and delicious in my tummy. Their sandwiches and salads are made fresh everyday with high quality meat and served on fresh baked bread. According to their "About Us," their goal is "to make the best sandwiches you'll ever eat." I have to say, they make some pretty darn good sandwiches. My first foray into Picasso Cafe's scrumptious offerings was with "Van Gogh's Symbolic Corned Beef." Lean corned beef, sliced dill pickles, lettuce, tomato and mustard on Marble Rye, sans the swiss cheese, and grilled on a Panini made this sandwich a winner. Most cafes are a bit stingy but Picasso Cafe offers generous portions aka huge sandwiches. On my second outing to Picasso Cafe, I tried "Picasso's Turkey Abstract" which tasted like a post-Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich in the best way. Imagine sliced turkey breast, hummus instead of lite cream cheese, cranberry sauce, lettuce, tomato, sprouts and creamy horseradish sauce on cranberry walnut bread also toasted on a Panini. Crunchy, sweet, salty goodness in one $7 sandwich? Sounds good to me. The cafe itself is clean with several booths along the side, a few high rise tables near the windows and standard tables throughout. Though they can get a little busy, I've never felt rushed to order. They're also willing to accommodate any substitutions for picky or health-conscious eaters. If you're not in the mood for a sandwich, try from their vast selection of Hot Wraps, Salads, Tweeners, even Espresso beverages and kid's meals. Located off of Haggerty Road on Grand River, Picasso Cafe is directly after Pheasant Run Plaza if you're coming from Haggerty. (map) If you're looking for a non-chain, friendly and family-owned place for fresh, satisfying gourmet sandwiches, I highly recommend Picasso Cafe. Take a look at the menu before you go although you may have a difficult time choosing just one sandwich.

Not what I expected after reading several five star reviews. Overall they reminded me of a Panera wannabe, but don't make their own bread, nor do they offer anything unique. I ordered the Van Gogh Turkey Fresco, which is grilled, but came out cold inside. If they consider these sandwiches works of art, then Thomas Kinkade should be on the menu.

Great spot for lunch dates! I met a friend there for lunch and we both really enjoyed the food. We each chose the soup and half-sandwich combo. The soups were great and so were the sandwiches. The food was very fresh and the atmosphere was bright and very clean. When the weather is nice, there is some outdoor seating. We will definitely go again. The menu had lots to choose from, including vegetarian options. You can also get your sandwich made as a wrap if you're looking for fewer carbs. The place is also a coffee shop for the breakfast crowd.

One of my favorite independent lunch spots in Novi! Really awesome soups and sandwiches. I'm a fan of the tomato florentine soup and Dali's Surreal Veggie sandwich. The "Half a Work of Art" combo is great as you get half a sandwich and either a cup of soup or a small salad. The people who work here a friendly and will usually make small chat with you while you're waiting. While this place is usually hopping at lunch time I can still usually find a seat. They also make a great cafe mocha, and next time I go I am going to have to try the Chai tea.
