Maisano’s Italian Restaurant Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Menu here is 100% homemade Italian food, and you'll love the family style atmosphere. The servers here are delightful, attentive, and check in every few minutes. I recommend this place for a date, family gathering, or a unique corporate option. Come hungry - portions are meant to be taken home, but I cleaned my plate like a good boy supposed to. The owner wasn't here tonight, but the staff clearly operate the place well and tend to their customers. We enjoyed the homemade Tiramisu and an espresso after dinner. You should too, you deserve it.

Really strange strip mall but good Italian food. I have yet to find an amazing Italian restaurant in the area. I'd say this one is probably the best.

On the advice of a local, I decided to check out Maisano's with a group of business colleagues in town for The Battery Show. Anyone who loves old school Italian restaurants, complete with wizened locals dotting the bar, will appreciate this place. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, and delivered excellent dinner recommendations. If you like martinis, start with a traditional one made with Hendrick's gin and splurge on some blue cheese stuffed olives. Unfortunately for me, Maisano's doesn't have a lot of gluten free menu items. When I called to check if they could accommodate my food allergy, I was assured they offered gluten free pasta. Yet on arrival our server sadly informed me they were all out. Bummer! So I opted for a plate of sausage and peppers and looked longingly at all the beautiful Italian dishes I could not taste. I can vouch for the wine list; our party enjoyed several stellar bottles of Pinot Noir. According to my coworkers, every single dish was quite good. They started with the toasted ravioli and bruschetta, and I spied quite a variety of large pasta dishes, as well as a delectable-looking chicken parmesan. This is a place worth checking out if you're in the area, and a welcome respite from the plethora of chain restaurants surrounding the Twelve Oaks Mall area.

One of the best around! A little place tucked in the back with a great staff and some homemade recipes that make you want to go back for more!!!

Classic, delicious Italian food. From our spinach artichoke dip appetizer to our entrees (we had the whitefish, the lake perch special and fettuccine Alfredo) to the wines to the tiramisu we shared for dessert, everything was just what we were looking for. The decor is kitschy but charming, the noise level was low and the service was attentive. Could have used more toasts with the dip, but too much dip is better than too much toast. An excellent alternative to the chain restaurants that are everywhere in this area.

Delicious food & excellent service. This restaurant is perfect for a romantic date or a family dinner. Veal Marsala is the best I ever had.

AS little hole in the wall restaurant surrounded and buy a whole bunch of other bigger named restaurants. I found a very nice, warm and inviting. The food is always good. Parking may be a problem, it's in the strip mall. I've eaten there many times, always enjoyed myself. I would rather go to a small independent restaurant then a large chain. Check it out, it's worth a try.

Love this place. The food is always good, we've been here several times and tried many entrees - never disappointed. Bernadette is our favorite server, friendly, fast and she adds spices to the olive oil that makes it a dish all on it's own. This is our "go to" Italian restaurant now.

I know I can prepare Italian food better than this place and I'm German. Sauce for pasta was like tomato paste and zero taste. Chicken Marsala and piccata were so greasy that by the time we were home, we were all sick. Person who had the special - mushroom stuffed ravioli with a creamy vodka sauce, vomited. The amount of dark, orangish oil was disgusting. Not even extra virgin olive oil- orange. The bread basket was about the only decent thing. The minestrone soup was like a salt lick bowl. All you could taste was sodium. Needs new chef. One that knows how to prepare meals that are less greasy, more traditional and make your own sauce or buy something better. The Olive Garden down the road would have been better. Even the desserts were sub par. Avoid at all costs.

I've visited twice now and ordered the chicken marsala each time. I waited tables at an Italian joint for several years and fell in love with the chicken marsala we served. Since then, I've not been able to find one single place where the chicken marsala served is even comparable, let alone BETTER!!! I was skeptical when the dish arrived because the sauce looked so thick, but it was absolutely delish! The service was great during both visits and the wine was tasty. I was also impressed with the bread that was served - they brought out a nice, hot chocolate chip bread! Yum!! The hubs and I will definitely visit again!

Hard to find a little family run Italian place like this. Super friendly service and awesome plates are a refreshing change from the many nearby chain restaurants. A true Novi treasure.

I recommended this place for dinner to my friends. We were a party of 9 and came before 6 on a Saturday night. They were empty at the time. We ordered and it took over an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. We finally asked the manager after numerous attempts to get our waitress. Our food started coming right away and much of it wss cold. My guess is it was sitting a long time on the kitchen. By this time the place was packed. We had to send two dishes back for a warm up. Then of course our bill was messed up. I know this happens but the sad thing was the manager wss standing and watching everything. He never apologized or checked back to make sure we were taken care of. I'll come back but won't recommend this place to friends again.

I had the absolute worst experience of my life at Maisano's. We called in our order for pick up around 6pm, it was for my sister in law's birthday. It was a Saturday night and we know it can get pretty busy so that's why we preferred take out. Well, upon ordering they really didn't give us a time frame. We waited some time and arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes after our order. It wasn't ready. It actually wasn't ready for 2 and a half hours!!! We finally got the food home at 9:15pm and everyone was starving and upset. I truly wish they would have mentioned such a wait while we called or we would have gone somewhere else. Of course, they were sorry about the wait and threw in free cannoli's which was nice but that's not all. Once we got home we found they messed up our only vegetarian dish which made it impossible to share any of the other dishes with our vegetarian eater. It was painful, 2 and a half hour wait plus the screw up on our vegetarian dish for a birthday. When we called to tell them about the mishap they offered for us to come back and pick it up, and by this time some guests are already headed home, others asleep, and it's nearly 10pm. I happened to have been that vegetarian whom went without dinner that night, after starving for 2 and a half hours waiting for it. I can honestly say there is nothing they could have offered to ever make me want to come back or in my case try it for the first time ever again. They lost our business forever.

Nice little Italian restaurant. Food was good, service was exceptional. I had the special, Chilean Sea Bass with orzo and veggies. Very tasty combination. Bread was very good as well and my favorite part of the meal was the caprese salad with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and olive oil. The server waited on a large group and did a fantastic job. Definitely a place to visit again.

A favorite of ours for some time and our goto Italian place. The restaurant is tucked back in a strip mall but don't judge this place by its cover. The best bruschetta around.

For the first time ever, I tried this Italian place. It was very busy and we thought we would step out & come back. So we left our name and the hostess handed us a gift card and told us to come back in 45 mins. I thought that was so nice and thoughtful. So we came back and everything was amazing, my favorites were the minestrone soup, potatoes,Creme brûlée & tiramisu. I can't wait to go back!

Absolutely fantastic!!!!!! We had a great time last night. It felt like you were at your rich uncles house. The atmosphere is great...had some frank playing in the background it felt good. Had the chicken marsala. It was the best marsala I've ever had. The bread was great and the soup was out of this world it was chicken something. Service was great everything came out perfectly at the perfect time. I thought there were no places like this anymore. Glad I was wrong. Very very very nice job. P.S. seen a hidden room in the back that had a party in it. I will definitely suggest any engagement my family has to be here at MAISANOS.

We ate dinner on an early weekday, and it was delicious. We had several different entrees, and they were all tasty, and served at just the right temperature. The vegetarian minestrone was especially good. Service was attentive but not hovering, and the atmosphere was quite welcoming and homey. We'll return often.

I was sadly disappointed. I really wanted to love this place. Service was polite but SLOW. (slow to get our drinks, slow to get our food and even slow to get our bill). We were there for 2-1/2 hrs. Food was very Bland. Marinara sauce had zero flavor. Calamari was soggy and tasteless. Whitefish seemed fresh but was extremely oily and soggy and was extremely bland. The minestrone soup was delicious and garlic rolls were warm and fresh. Prices were reasonable; however, we will not return. I would choose Olive Garden in Novi over Maisano's. Sorry.

Good Day All- As others have said this is one of the jewels in the Novi sea of chains, the other jewel of course being Diamond Jim's. Joined some friends for a lovely dinner on a Friday evening. Was greeted quickly when we arrived and seated in a nice booth before the other couple had arrived (I like this, do not like the waiting for the whole party thing). We got a large carafe of their house Chianti which had a good flavor and went well with our food. The bread as some have said is just great, trying to loose some weight I only had one piece of the puffy warm bread but they also had this flat garlicky bread that was tasty and my mind told me was healthier. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the onion soup was a stand out with just the right amount of flavor and onions. Sometimes it seems like onion soup has a little to much or a bit to little flavor and or onions. The cannolis were fantastic and we were told they make their own marscapone filling, I should have had one to myself instead of splitting. Will be going back and maybe a little more then DJB as they are a bit lower in cost as well.

I was very disappointed with our dining experience last night. We've been here several times in the past and have found it to be above average, but last night the service was extremely slow and the food very ordinary. Our server would disappear for long periods of time and not check in. At one point, our water and drink glasses were empty for over 20 minutes. Sorry folks , there's much better Italian out there at establishments who appreciate your business.

I recently went to this restaurant to meet a friend for dinner. We both ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. I order and make eggplant often, so I am very familiar with how it should taste. We could barely cut my eggplant, it was as tough as leather. The sad thing is that our server did not come by our table once to inquire about our food. Had she or even come close enough for me to get her attention, I would have told her that the food was not edible. She finally did come over after a very long time and said "you didn't eat any of your food!" to which I responded that it was very tough. She said she would have another one made and I declined because I did not have another 40 minutes to wait for food that I again may not be able to eat. She then ASKED ME if I wanted her to take it off the bill....really? I was stunned that she would even ask and not just do it, so I said no, hoping that the right thing would be done. Then the bartender came over and asked me again if I wanted them to make me another one, to which I declined again....let's face it, I wasted enough time there. Needless to say, I was charged for my meal and you may say I should have told her to take it off, but I firmly believe that I should not be asked if I want the charge for their lousy inedible food removed from my bill. It should just happen automatically. Will not go back.

My mom, brother and I came here tonight after my brother's friend recommended it. Kudos to him for having good taste because we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will be back. I love chicken Marsala and order it whenever it is on the menu and the chicken Marsala at Maisano's was THE BEST I have ever tasted. The sauce was what made it truly remarkable, I have never had anything that matched its rich taste. The food is very fairly priced for the quality and quantity. Our server was very friendly and professional and the manager who came to check on us was incredibly nice. A great overall experience.

We've been to Maisano's twice, and both times it's been exceptional. I'd practically given up on finding good italian food in the area, after several gloppy, flavorless meals elsewhere (How can anyone enjoy Olive Garden?? ewwww.) Everything tasted very fresh and flavorful. Delicious. A new favorite.

I decided to try this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews, but I wasn't really feeling the food very much. I ordered the chicken saltimbocca, because I really needed to have a meat wrapped in bacon lol, prosciutto in this case. The chicken breast tasted a bit like it was deep fried, but it was still kinda plain tasting, plus the marinara sauce was very pedestrian. My wife ordered the gnocchi with portobella mushrooms and steak medallions which was actually pretty good. It's not something I've seen in other Italian restaurants. The ambience was real nice though and cozy, and our waitress was very hospitable. I think Carrabba's, my fav Italian place, has really spoiled me, because I may have liked Maisano's several years ago. I can't see myself returning.

Lena was the highlight to our evening. She was super friendly and nice. Our server was super awesome to my husband, super rude to me. I can't figure it out. I was super nice tonight and my husband even noticed she was being a bit off with me. *shrugs shoulders* Oh well! We will probably go back. :)

This was the first time for my husband and I. It was a quiet dinner just for us and it was awesome. My husband had Veal Cattitore and I had pasta with prosciutto. I can't remember the name of the dish. It was fabulous. It was steaming hot when it came to the table and the waitress made a perfect wine suggestion. The salad was perfect and wasn't from a bag like most restaurants. The bread was perfect. The Zucchini bread was almost as good as my Mom's. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Set in a strip mall, this restaurant is hidden from the street and does not have an appealing look from the outside. I went here for dinner with a few friends. The food was excellent. Everyone raved about their meals and desserts. Drinks were decently poured. Our waitress Ashleigh was friendly and attentive. The food did come out slow, but we enjoyed our leisurely dinner. Highly recommend you give it a try.

The mall lures a girl to Novi and after shopping a girl needs to eat. After a spin by the mall we decided to stop off somewhere new. This restaurant is indeed hidden in a strip mall on the other side of the freeway with a Lover's Lane and a nail place. Klassy I know, but we went in anywho. We got seated pretty quickly despite it looking pretty full up. Everyone was friendly and helpful. When we fessed up we were newbies, not only the server but even other nearby tables gave us suggestions. I found it charming so I had high hopes for the food. They brought us some bread that was very evil and tasty. My husband had nice enough minestrone but I thought my escarole pick was better. Neither was close to our fave versions but were hot and gobbled up. His dinner pick was the fettucini alfredo with shrimp. The pasta in it was great and al dente, the sauce was a bit bland and the shrimp was merely okay. He is very picky about alfredo at any rate, to the point where I wish he would not order it at new places, it rarely goes well. I had the sausage baci al forno, it made me happier than my husband's pick made him. Frankly though I am a bad judge because lately all red sauces are lighting me up like a Christmas tree. I used to hate the stuff, now I am addicted. Marinara, bolognese, vodka sauce: if it is red I am all over it and I am none to picky about it. I did like this pasta but it had sausage and red sauce so it was a no brainer. We consumed far too many carbs to even contemplate dessert afterwards. I'd actually give this spot a 3 1/2 for now. I'd go back but only if I were nearby already.

I came here with a party of 7 and everyone really enjoyed their food, I had the spicy blackened steak salad which I was NOT impressed with. There were about 6-8 bite size pieces of steak, NO dried cranberries as the menu states, and 4 cherry tomatoes. If I wasn't with such a bug group of people I would've told the server about my concern. Dessert was a plus, homemade brownie with vanilla ice cream was delicious! The restaurant is quite loud, I think they should use their vacant banquet space on the other side to seat more people. Trying to serve 50 people in a small box doesn't make for a good setting. BE PREPARED TO SAY, "What was that!?" to the people you're with about 20 times during your meal.

This place is excellent- I haven't been in a while, and probably had the chicken Alfredo, I just remember it being good. My favorite is probably the bread. Also they have really good French onion. It's family owned, old world, little Italy atmosphere.

I just wanted to add, after my 3rd visit in the past several months, that they handle the weekend evening rush exceptionally well. There is always a crowd of people in the entryway, 1/2 arriving with reservations, 1/2 without, and every table occupied. And yet, everything moves along smoothly. Service is good. The quality of food doesn't suffer at all for the rush. And the food is still really exceptional. The chocolate brownie desert with hot-fudge...lordy. Anyway, Maisano's will remain my go-to Italian restaurant.

I never realized how full of chain restaurants the Novi area is until I was starving for dinner. Applebees, Outback, Olive Garden. You name it...its probably in the Novi area. Blah. I happened to see reviews of this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. As a previous review said it really does not look like much from the outside. Situated in a random strip mall right next to the Lovers Lane (so you know...when you are full from eating Italian you can stroll next door for your "other" needs). The place is your typical old school Italian restaurant. very dimly lit. Everyone that comes in seems to know each other - seriously, i think like 75% of the people were regulars. They knew the owners, the servers, etc. It was kind of comforting to see. All of the servers were very friendly and accommodating. I ordered one of the specials (shrimp, scallop, with pepper pasta in a butter sauce) with minestrone soup and my husband got the lasagne with a side salad. First off...the bread. OHHHH the bread. It was great. The garlic rolls came out steaming hot and my husband could not stop ooohhhing and ahhhing over them. My soup was very delicous. Chocked full of yummy vegetables and pasta. Even my husbands salad was great. Very fresh and you could tell the dressing was homemade. Onto the entrees. My dish was fine. I felt like the shrimp were pretty rubbery and the sauce on the dish was just so-so. I enjoyed it but I didn't think it was anything special. My husband said the same about his lasagna. It was fine...but nothing special. It was overloaded with cheese and at times he had trouble finding the noodles. By the time we were done with our meals we were STUFFED. Which is sad because their desert tray looked AMAZING. All in all it was a decent meal. When you are in a sea of chain restaurants I would definitely choose this place over anything else. Obviously they have a large amount of repeat customers for a reason.

In a word: Nope! Cardboard box tortellini, bread with no substance and less flavor, and a very inexperienced waitress. She was trying to be nice but overdid it. We liked the wedge salad for its crispness and freshness but it had an excess of blue cheese dressing...and I mean excess---literally gobs of it that drowned the lettuce. The calamari was decent but nothing to write home about. Music was loud and cloying. In fact that 's a good word to sum up the whole experience: cloying.

First timer .. read the reviews and decided to try it out. Location is weird - in the back corner of a strip mall (next to a Lover's Lane). Relatively small place - only a dozen tabletops in the wing that was in use - looks like the other wing is for dinner parties. Design is dark and over-the top blend of plush booths and a kitchy shelf of antiques. Old, antique BW photos of family shots. Busy for a Tuesday nite - there were only a couple booths open. We were greeted promptly .. and got our drinks. Wine list is decent, emphasis on Italian selections (half the list), even saw a Nero d'Avola (Sicilian) - but only 4 or 5 selections by-the-glass. Nice selection of traditional and house specials on the menu - fairly priced ($12-20). My date went for the Seafood Canelloni (the Seafood Ravioli was out) and I was eager to try the Chicken Saltimbocca. The bread (rolls) didn't look special, but were so fresh, they were soft and tasted yummy. The escarole soup was fresh and flavorful. The house salad - romaine and assorted greens with garbanzo beans, cucumber, grape tomatoes - was chilled, but not wilted - served with the house dressing - a vinagrette. Loved the china - entrees served on bright Mediterranean dishes. Nice presentation. The saltimbocca was full of flavor and the marinara was so fresh - I could eat it straight from the bowl! The seafood canelloni had chunks of seafood in a silky sauce. Want to check this out some more. Worth coming back ...

It's a shame because I like small family owned places over chains and they're food is good. However, they're service is slow and not accommodating. I asked if I could have some peas and mushrooms added to my "build your own pasta" and the waitress said "of course we can add anything," so I got my pasta...it was great until I saw the bill. They charged me 6 dollars for the veggies and listed on the menu chicken and shrimp was 4 dollars. Something didn't add up. No where on the menu stated that peas and mushrooms would be that much. And in what world are peas and mushrooms more than chicken and shrimp--makes no sense to me. When I explained to the waitress my concern that no one informed me of such an up charge, she was less than apologetic and didn't offer to take it off. Apparently at this restaurant the customer is not always right. I tried one more time to give this place a shot and this time, my friend ordered a pasta without shrimp, well the pasta came out with shrimp (they're mistake) and when my friend said no big deal, she'd eat it with the shrimp, the waitress said that it would be an up charge for the shrimp THEY mistakenly added. I also asked for a side of marinara sauce or my toasted ravioli and when I got my bill it was an extra 2.50 again no heads up that it was extra and it was a whole 3 tablespoons of sauce. Ridiculous. They are trying to make a profit on anything and everything at the customers expense. Will never go back again and it truly is a shame.

This place has turned out to be a real disappointment. After our prior experience, we really did expect more. We will not be returning to or recommending Maisano's anymore. To start, the dinner salad was an uninviting pile of iceberg lettuce. What happened to the previous mixed green dinner salad? Unfortunately, things were down-hill from there. The braciola was overdone and dry, while the chicken saltimbocca should have been called salty chicken. Speaking of salt, the bruschetta had far more than its share as well. What do you do when a restaurant you've previously enjoyed turns into a total disappointment? Leave without saying anything and never return? Or politely mention it with the hope of finding a reason that it is simply an anomaly? (The chef is sick at home or something like that...) On our way out, I politely mentioned to the owner that we had previously very much enjoyed their food, but this time it was not quite as good. Talk about not giving a damn about his customers, this guy acted like I was a problem. No questions, no apology, no excuses...just rude. Maybe he was having a bad day, but why take it out on me? The food would rate a two, the service from our server a four, and the attitude from the owner a negative three, so it averages out to one star.

Unfortunately, Maisano's has gone downhill. I am not sure if their chef quit or their owner doesn't care anymore. My wife and I had been going to this place somewhat regularly and I usually order the cannelloni in their awesome red sauce, which was the best in the area. However, what was served was something in a microwave-able dish and the bottom was watery. The cannelloni was topped with red sauce that resembled something that was out of a can. I told the waitress that this was unacceptable. She asked if there was something else I wanted, but I said 'no', I was so disgusted with what they gave me. Neither the owner or the chef came out to ask what they could do to make things right. To add insult to injury, they charged me for the soup that I had as part of the entree even though they didn't charge me for the entree! I am never coming back.....

Just visited over last weekend (03/23) and had an amazing meal! We got a chicken special that had roasted red peppers and moz melted on top... fabulous and plenty to share between myself and my girlfriend. The bread (focacia and sweet bread) are made in house and the best I have ever had, out waitress even gave us some ot go after we commented on it. Over all I thought it was a great alternative to all the chains in the area and much most cost affordable then other Italian restaurants around like Andiamo. our split dinner with a soda and tip was under $15 a person which was great. i will for sure return!

I cannot believe that I'm the first to rate Maisano's, because they have a pretty good size cult-like following. Some people believe this is THE BEST restaurant in the area. I agree that it offers awesome family style Italian food, but I wouldn't go as far to say it's THE BEST...oh wait, what other Italian restaurant in this area is better? Oh yeah, it is the BEST Italian Restaurant in the area. P.S. I know that some of my Michigan friends would argue passionately that Olive Garden is the Best Italian Restaurant in the country. Well, I have nothing further to add.

We have been several times with our kids (and even a couple extra kids from the neighborhood). We are always seated immediately, even if we are not all there at the same time. The service is phenomenal...they go out of their way to make sure my son's food is safe, and they cater to his every whim (curly pasta instead of spaghetti noodles, if you please). Everything we have had to eat there has been great - tons of variety on the menu and always great specials! As others have commented, the dining room is rather small, but I find it cozy and comfortable. It's one of our favorite places to eat.

It took my dad a long time to convince me to try this place. I brushed it off because of the location in a strip mall. But was I wrong! We come here on a fairly regular basis and the food is always excellent. I love the French onion soup and plain pasta. My dad likes the veal parmesan and appetizers. Dessert is a must. I also had my wedding reception here around lunchtime. Reasonable prices, a custom menu, and all my guests raved about the food and service.

Best Italian restaurant in metro-Detroit, in my opinion. My family has been eating here for years, and they never disappoint. Dinner and dessert are always delicious, wait staff works together, and the atmosphere is great. It's like soul food Italian--tastes like your Grandma made it.

I thought this was an A-OK local Italian restaurant. People here have noted that, in any case, this is a welcome oasis from chain restaurant city. The service was friendly, but I thought the food was average. I'd be willing to try again with something else. I had a soup, that was essentially like chicken noodle, and not interesting. There was lots of broth and the flavor was forgettable. Wouldn't recommend that. I had a chicken cacciatore for dinner and it was a significant portion. It tasted pretty good, but I don't think it was much better than I could do for myself at home cutting up some peppers, and using a high-quality jar sauce from the grocery. The wine selection was reasonably priced and had some good by the glass options. The canoli was the highlight of the meal for me. Again, I'd give this place another shot, but if they didn't impress me more, I'd keep looking.

Maisano's is a hidden gem tucked away in an older strip mall. The food as well as the wine are an amazing value. The service is terrific, and they are accommodating to large parties with kids as well. My husband and I come here to enjoy classic Italian favorites such as baked cannelloni and chicken Marsala, but their specials are excellent too. The house wine is good - love their Chianti. And, the portions are generous. It's not a very big place, so get there early or make reservations. It's a bit noisy, so that's why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.

I needed a place that would be good for a group of 25. Michael was great to work with, we had a great set up, wonderful service (Ashleigh was not only a great server, she had great suggestions and was very responsive to all our needs). The food was fantastic, everyone really enjoyed it. I had the perch and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. I would go back again, either alone or with a group.

I'm writing this from memory... A fellow Yelper wrote about Masianos and it sparked my brain and made me remember when I took my wife there for our anniversary about August 2009. I wanted to do it right after visits to some other local chain joints that left us wanting more for a real Italian experience. A friend of a friend told us about Masiano's... which is literally a hole in the wall family style Italian eatery nestled in the corner of an obscure Novi shopping strip. There is nothing there worthy of note in my book. I know I had driven by Masiano's a hundred times and never thought to stop. I recall it was very busy, but we had made reservations for 2 for early dinner. I recall the dining room was small and there was a bar not far away where some people were drinking. I cannot remember if Smoking was allowed there at the time, this was before 2010 and the smoking ban. But I only remember fond vivid memories of experience. I ordered a minestrone soup which unfortunately I cannot recall anything awesome about it. But however my wife still remembers that she had the French Onion soup which was absolutely divine - it was cheesy, seasoned croutons on top, a rich savory broth. For her dinner She had the Chicken Parmesan, very good sized portion. the Chicken a large portion - fresh & baked in parmesan crust, not soggy - extra sauce on the side which my wife loves, plenty of noodles. We shared bruchetta(?) - cripsy home made garlic bread, with a mixture of the FRESH basil, and FRESH vine ripened tomatoes, FRESH mozzarella cheese, and homemade italian dressing. I remember it was such a big portion and so much left over I ate some of the tomatoes like a soup. I had the house made meat ravioli. Extra sauce - which was FRESH. I remember the raviolis were plentiful. I remember It came with Meatballs, I believe there 2 or 3, they were Pork/Beef meatball with lots of italian spices. For dessert my wife had some custard cream thing. Which eludes me what it was, maybe it was Tiramisu or a Flan... I had a cup of double espresso to perk me up. Sadly I cannot remember the Service so much. All I remember is the Food and how plentiful the portions and Freshness was. I will definitely have to have another trip there so I can give everyone a more accurate description.

Nice place, great service. Our waitress did an excellent job. However the food was so/so. Wife had the Maisanos triple plate and their red sauce is really sweet. The chicken Piccata was just fine but nothing worth driving across town for. The wine selection is nice, and the service is top notch. Just too sweet for my taste.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
