High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. Come on it's Applebee's An Almost everywhere place in every city...not knocking it. I had lunch here with my son this week. We had good service ( although I can't remember my servers name)! However the food was good I had their pick two lunch combo chicken caeser salad, and shrimp linguini in a marinara type sauce with zucchini and broccoli.. not bad not great... My son had a corn dog, fries and a brownie ala mode he was happy.. so I was too..plus not to mention I used to be a server at Applebees so I got a soft spot for them ; )

The atmosphere was great. The restaurant was clean. The service was excellence. THE PORTIONS WERE TINY AND OVER PRICED. I had to go through McDonald'd drive through afterwards because I was still hungry. I came for lunch but ordered off of thee dinner menu.....good thing, as I would have starved if I ordered from the lunch menu. I had a salad and an iced tea which came out to $14......I could have went Chili's for nearly half the price. My friend ordered from the lunch menu and ordered the up charged items and I thought that it was from kids menu when they brought it out as it was tiny. By the way, I have been to many other Applebees and had received much larger portions than this one. I am not sure if it is some sort of financial issue with the franchisee owner but people won't come if they are not even the minimum value for the money

So I have been here multiple times and I am by far a very educated foodie. The manager in the server were absolutely spot on. As I'm watching the bartender behind the bar she itches her ears and wipes her nose and continues to pour drinks. So glad that I ordered a draft. .......and she also keeps her quarts of berry purée in the ice bin that the drinks are filled w/ ice from!!!

I just finished my meal and everything was awesome. I had the pub pretzels and quesadillas and they both were excellent. The manager Pam stopped by and asked us how everything was and I thought this was a nice touch. Good to see a sincere manager that cares about her customers. Our server Doug was the best server we have ever had.

Decided to give their Burger Mondays a try last night with my wife. Haggerty and 6 mile location. Not too busy at 7:30. Took a few minutes for hostess to seat us. Our server was very friendly and had a smile every time she came to our table. Burgers here seem to be about 10 or 11 dollars as a regular price. On Burger Mondays they drop to 7 bucks with fries or house made chips. I had the American Standard burger. It has pickles, onions and bacon in the patty with american cheese and a sauce on top. The burger is a good size with a nice char on it. I like char. Could not taste picles or onions in the burger and did get a few bites of bacon. Did not get a sauce as far as I could tell. Fries are just okay. My wife got the Mushroom and Swiss burger. It came with mushrooms in the patty and a sauce and she opted for the house made chips. Well, it was supposed to have a sauce. Missing on hers also. Chips were hit and miss as some were crispy and some were soggy. Both burgers are good. They are not 10 and 11 dollars good. For 7 bucks they are a very good meal. Service was spotty and it seemed to take too long to actually get our food. Not sure I would want to go in at 5 or 6 during this promotion. May also try a different location.

This Applebee's was just okay. I did the Yelp check-in and got free onion rings (with purchase of a drink) and my parents did the 2 for $25 deal, so we got an appetizer and they got 2 entrees. I decided to try the "unlimited cross-cut ribs," but the ribs that came out looked like they had been sitting around a while. I also substituted mashed potatoes for the fries. The 2nd order of ribs I got looked better, but by then I was too full to try them (parents had them instead). Waitservice was okay, for the most part it was good but I had to ask for more water a few times. My parents both did the brownie bites (small portion of brownie + vanilla ice cream) for dessert and those were like $1.29 each, which was a great deal.

I would've given 0 stars if I could but I'll attribute this one star to our waiter, he was nice. Went here for lunch with a friend and was thoroughly disappointed in the meal and the new applebess sales gimmick that I fell for. Shame on me. I ordered from their signature menu, a cup of tortilla soup and the artisan grilled chicken ciabatta sandwich. There was no picture of the sandwich on the signature and NO mention that it only was a half sandwich (i was hungry and really looking forward to a good, filling lunch btw) When our meals arrived im pretty sure my face dropped upon seeing a cup of soup and the worlds smallest sandwich! It was a HALF a sandwich and literally 1.5" x 3" I felt like I ordered the worlds most expensive happy meal! How the hell do you charge someone $10.00 for a cup of soup and the worlds smallest dinkiest sandwich ever! The soup was basically a vegetable soup with some spicy seasonings and 2, i repeat 2 pieces of cubed chicken in it. Worst lunch out I've ever had. And they forgot our breadsticks too. When they brought them out, they had no flavor and were cold. Utterly disappointed in applebees. Avoid the lunch ripoff gimmick unless you're dieting, a small child or enjoy being disappointed.

Typical causal dining chain location. Seems quite popular with senior crowd. Our server was very attentive and thorough. Food came quickly and was satisfactory. My sons had chicken tenders and mini-burgers and they both enjoyed their meals. I had the new turkey stacker sandwich. The turkey was tasty but a little skimpy compared to the size of the bread. It was dressed with coleslaw and a tasteless sauce. My sweet potato fries were a little too well-done but the meal was satisfying. Lots of tvs with a sports bar vibe. Good for groups and my 8 and 10 year old seem to enjoy it.

I would've given no stars but I can't post without a star. I have eaten here multiple times but today would probably be the worst, we had to wait over an hour for our sits to be cleaned, our order taken and our food to come out. When It did come to our table it was not even the right food. The pasta had hair in if and the steak was raw and rare as can be. I specifically asked for a medium well steak and I think that since they were busy they were just rushing the food. I understand that it's not a 5 star restaurant but you foot to look at your food before sending them out. Also as we were paying the sever did not give us back the card, when we called to ask for it he said to come back but when we did they would not give it back until we spoke to a general manager, apparently a manager or MOD can't give a card even if I show them my ID. All in all this place is horrible

We were here with a group of six and the service by Emily R was perfect. All of our meals were not quite as good. Three of our friends had a entrée salad and said they were too light on the dressing and they had to wait to get more. It seems like Applebee's should automatically serve the salad with some dressing on the side. One had the steak and said it was too dry, although they ordered it medium rare. My wife had the low cal cedar salmon and loved it. I had the ribs with the spicy BBQ sauce and it too was excellent. all in all an a-ok mea'l

The food is fine for what it is, the service was okay. Overall, a mediocre restaurant. Fairly overpriced. What really, really made me dislike this particular Applebee's is that I left my credit card there, called back 30 minutes later to see if it was still there. The girl on the phone told me it was and she promised they'd hold it for me, but told me not to come that day (Saturday) because they were in the middle of a dinner rush. I came back as soon as I could assuming my card was held, and had them tell me they couldn't find it. I left without the card and was promised the GM would call me when he got in. He never called and I had to call him myself, to which he replied he had heard nothing about my lost card and probably "shredded it". He also said he doesn't know why his employee would tell me not to come on Saturday. Absolutely horrible customer service. I wouldn't even be mad if they shredded it had I not called 30 MINUTES after I left it there with the promise of them holding it for me. Now I'm out a credit card which I have to cancel. I won't be going back.

This Applebee's was very accommodating for our large church group for lunch. The servers were very polite and courteous. The meal was hot when served, even with a large group. Will be back again.

We had the worst service ever a few months back and I'll never return. I'm a waitress so I am very understanding.. But, we were so rushed to order. She wanted to know what we wanted to eat.. When we ordered our drinks. Any time we would ask for a minute to decide something, it was like she was timing it and came back probably 57 second later. I took two bites of my food when she had the bill in hand asking if we were done ordering. I told her we wanted dessert and we would order in a few minutes about a minute later she's back asking if we wanted to order dessert or if we were going to cash out. We ordered dessert and she brought us our bill before our dessert. I asked 4 times for another drink.. Finally after telling her to forget it she brought it. I watched her pick up money from another table and ask "was this my tip?".. Rude!

I've had bad service here more than once. Literal fly in the drink, for starters. The other reviews seem to indicate that the service has improved, but it will take a true act of desperation to bring back the Haggerty Man. Perhaps if my sodium levels dipped to -80 imaginary units, I might choose this food over the road salt. I'm a suBLURBanite, but even a man who lives over half his life along one stretch of road has his limits as well as better options.

Well. We used to come here often, the food is good when prepared correctly. However after a string of bad experiences like our food being not served as asked for, or waiting an hour only to find out they "had a miscommunication" with the cooks and hadn't even started making our food we will no longer be visiting this location. It doesn't help that we are treated like we are theives when we request the food be returned and brought out how we asked for it. And I HATE being that person but when it happens every time you go somewhere its ridiculous. Find a diff location if you want to eat applbees tonight.

I went there on mother's day with my mother. I was worried that it would be too busy, but we got right in without delay. Parking lot was packed, but it shares with an Italian restaurant and an Einstein Bagel shop. Food was typical Applebees. They were running a 2 for $20 special, with two entrees and one appetizer from their choices for $20, but the specials and menu items tend to change often at Applebees. Overall, we had no problems whatsoever. The service was excellent. Thanks Emily.

Our waitress was great. I was having a quick bite to eat with my girlffiend. Stopped in and had good friendly service. She knew we did not need small talk. took good care of us with out being in our face. The wedge salad was outstanding, as was the appetizer plate.

5 Star for great service. I wish I had gotten the name of the young lady who waited on us. She was very friendly, cheerful and prompt. The hostesses were also very friendly. (some places should take note from here, re: customer service) SMILE! and SAY HELLO! : ) 3.Stars for food 1/2 Rib dinner with coleslaw/fries. For me, the portion was perfect, but my husband would have been disappointed. They arent 1/2 size like Dave's or other rib restaurants. They were tiny, BUT the meat fell right off the bone and not one bit of fat or gristle and that's HUGE in my book. They weren't meaty by any means. Jalapeno lime Shrimp dinner. good flavor, small shrimp, peppers, veggie sauce and a serving of rice. Rice was plain and non-flavorful. 2 for $20 two chicken tender meals with an appetizer of cheese sticks. The chicken tenders were crunchy with nice pieces of chicken breast. The fries were eh...limp and I think too much seasoning. They bring you a HUGE appetizer of cheese sticks. We could have had that as an entree. This isn't usually my kind of place (chain) but hubs received a gift card. We enjoyed our dinner. Thank you : )

I came here with my husband and all 3 kids on a Friday night around 5ish. First of all, I don't eat at Applebee's. It just brings back bad memories from my 20s of mediocre fried food. However, we had received a $50 gift card and we were driving home to Canton from an event at the Palace and we were hungry. I got the Yelp check in deal for a free order of onion rings. They were good - and free - which made them better. Our server, wish I could remember her name, was incredibly nice. Probably the only thing I would recommend is that they do a better job of pre-busing the table. After getting drink refills, we had far too many glasses/dishes sitting at the end of our packed booth waiting to be removed. The kids meals were pretty big. I mean, my younger ones (4 and 7) are eaters. I often kick myself for getting them kids meals because they are always eating from my meal after they finish their own. Not this time. The quesadilla and grilled cheese sandwich were not skimpy. The yogurt and fresh strawberry sides weren't either. My husband and I both got a dish off the "less than 600 calorie" menu. His was the shrimp and broccoli cavatappi and mine was the cedar grilled lemon chicken. When mine came out I was unimpressed. It came served with quinoa and the portion size was pretty minuscule....so disappointing considering it tasted very good. The chicken was good too; juicy and tender. Maybe I'm just used to being overfed?? In the end, I was not left hungry. My husband said he enjoyed his pasta too, but unlike me, he was still hungry when he was done. He got a chocolate mousse dessert shooter which was the perfectly sized dessert. I was jealous that I hadn't ordered one myself. The teenager got the stereotypical burger and fries, and didn't complain. Honestly, though, do they ever? I'm convinced they don't know good from bad food. All in all, I felt as though Applebee's had changed significantly since I last dined there. I might actually go again.

We have been here many times. The food is good and the prices aren't crazy. We especially love the pretzel appetizer with beer cheese. The food is the same each time & no matter when you go, which is good.

I went to this Applebee's for the first time and had a horrible experience. For starters the place was dead ... And when I mean dead I mean their was only us and two older ladies who had already been waited on .. Are server was friendly, however she never came to give us refills on our drinks or to see how our food was. I ordered a soup and salad . The soup was ice cold I couldn't even eat it , the manager took it away and didn't charge me the salad was hunky however I didn't want to complain. I probably won't come back here ..,

I have never been so disrespected in my whole life!!! My mother and I ordered the 2 for 20 and also ordered soup!!! She ordered the 3 cheese chicken penne and it came out dry and not enough sauce. I ordered the Parmesan chicken and mine came out so bland and dry so I told my server and he had the Manager come over to talk to us I believe his name was Eric B??? He had the nerve to tell me that this isn't a place where you can just taste everything on the menu!!! I was in complete shock as to how he handled the situation!!! I have been in the restaurant business for over 20+ years and have never felt so disrespected in my whole life!!! He had my Mom in tears because of the way he handled the situation and the way he talked to me!!!

Applebees is just inherently unexciting. It is the epitome of a chain restaurant. Having said that, I have to admit that Hubby and I go here time and again because they have tasty, healthy choices. They offer several Weightwatchers-scored entrees and another few under 550 calories. They also offer "skinny" (read small, but still...) cocktails and small bite desserts. It all adds up to an enjoyable, guilt-free dining experience. This particular restaurant has decent, if uninspired, service and is recently remodeled.

I am not a huge fan off Applebee's I think they are boring, generic and the worst services off all the chain eateries. I have to give them a plus in the fact they are all having new evening happy hour with pretty good drink prices. We also had a pretty good waiter at this location... SUPER-DAVE!

Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.

Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top.
