Great bar, great pizza, the outside area is super nice in the summer with live bands and lots of entertainment for the whole family, missed the last star because they were out of breadsticks and they had no waiter outside, you had to go get all your own stuff.

Massimo's makes a substantial pizza. Not only do they make pizzas ranging from personal size to 24" (feeds 10-12 people), they also make a heavy pizza. If you like crust, Massimo's pizza is definitely for you. They also make thin crust, but you have to ask for it. The Lotsa Meat is a favorite in our house as is the garlic toast with cheese. I haven't tried the baked subs yet so I can't offer a review on them. A family-owned business, Massimo's is a nice change from the national chains around the area. There is a nice place to dine-in in the Niles location, and they also offer carry-out and delivery.

I have high standards and expectations for Italian restaurants. I have really only found 4 or 5 excellent places in my entire life. I have been disappointed dozens and dozens of times. Today I was pleasantly surprised. I was on my lunch break from work and I drove the extra distance to downtown Niles because I really wanted to try something different. I found Massimo's just by searching "Italian restaurants" on Google. I walked into the place and it was COMPLETLY EMPTY at 5:30 PM! I got a sinking feeling. All of the employees looked like high school kids- sinking feeling #2. I ordered the meatball sub with extra sauce and a Coke. I asked that the local news be put on one of the 4 TV's, and they obliged. As I waited, I kept hearing the metallic clank of a microwave oven's door being repeatedly open and closed, along with the "READY" beeps a microwave makes- sinking feeling #3. It seemed the food took a little longer than I thought it should- but one hopeful sign, I thought I saw them taking my sammich out of the pizza oven, so maybe the microwaving was something else. When the guy brought my sammich out it didn't look too bad. The sauce smelled good and they gave me two side cups of extra. The sammich actually tasted quite good, the meatballs were tender to the point of being mushy, but tasty, and there was something about the sauce I can't quite pin-point that gave it a very good and interesting flavor. Clearly the sammich had been baked and not microwaved- and my first experience at Massimo's was a pleasant surprise. I will defiantly try them again!

Food not bad, most workers are good, some have bad attitude, owner is one of them.

TOP NOTCH DOUGH. After a trip to Italy, I've kind of turned into a pizza snob, especially about the dough. Massimo's definitely has a great recipe. The owners have put a lot of work into making this place a great spot to hang out. The covered outside area has live bands. The bar on the backside is nicely decorated. Also I agree with previous reviews, BIG PORTIONS. Don't go unless you're hungry!

Had a couple of slices at lunch time. Tasty crust. Crust pretty heavy but still good. Sauce, toppings and cheese okay. Might go back if I'm ever in Niles and need a cheap lunch.

Stopped by this family restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and will be back, even though it's out of the way for a South Bend resident. Very friendly spot for kids with games to play while you wait. Also seemed like a good place to go for ice cream. Pizza was good, but the breadsticks were outstanding and a must-order. Solid family-owned restaurant that's a nice change of pace from the sterile chain alternatives like Pizza Hut and Papa John's.

I really wanted to email the owner with this but no way to inform them so here goes...just to start the Niles Burn run was going on but we didn't think twice about entering to eat dinner. Saturday evening we went to dinner at this establishment with my Daughter and Granddaughter from Chicago, my Brother and Niece from California and my sister and I from Niles BIG MISTAKE!!! we were going to order a big pizza but Massimos' had a special 5.00 for 2 slices, cheese sticks and a soda, apparently they never get busy cause they were not prepared they had only 2 slices of cheese that were ice cold, the rest was the same ice cold sausage and pepperoni and half of the cheesesticks tasted like they were sitting all day and cold the other half had just come out of the oven and were very good but the marinara they just took out of the fridge and handed to us but was still tasty. Service was almost as bad my daughter went up to get the bathroom key and the boy working the register looked at her and said our bathrooms are only for customers in a very rude manner, now if you ever have been in there the place is small and his voice echoed thru the whole place which totally embarrassed my daughter. Now we order the party pizza every time we have company so this is not the first time we have been attended to rudely but will be the last! oh yes they do have some nice employees the young woman cutting the cheese sticks the other young man cutting the pizza and their female delivery driver very nice employees. Oh yes one more thing if you have unsweetened ice tea in your machine it is not necessary but a courtesy to your customers to have sugar, sweet and low or another kind of sweetener available.
