Five stars because they have the best drive through people in the world. They are fast and friendly, just what I like when I am in a hurry. A nice change from the norm.

Milano Take-Out Pizza of Niles

Finally, I've found a taco pizza in Niles! The taco pizza was delicious - seasoned ground beef, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, onion. (Sour cream and salsa available upon request for additional charge.) Will definitely order the taco pizza again from Milano and will try other pizzas from there too.
Milano's makes better than average pizza that can stand up to our usual favorite (Bruno's). The prices are reasonable, the cheese is quality and plentiful, the toppings are really tasty (try the meatball), and the pizzas are good sized.
Their sandwiches are amazing. My family craves them, it seems constantly. The delivery is always fast, food arrives HOT and the prices are more than reasonable.

This place is the best. Always fresh and tastes so great. I would recommend anyone to come here because it's faster than fast food and it tastes so much better. Shoot it's cheap too and that's what we call "Good grub down for some cheaper"!! Come and have the Italian Beef which is my favorite!!!
Cross my heart...I had not eaten a hot dog in almost 20 years. I am a carnivore, just found hot dogs to be gross so chose to avoid them. My new boss took me to Hot Dogs Plus. He is a huge "chicago dog" fan and kept telling me how great their hot dogs were, etc. etc. I didn't have the courage to tell him I didn't want one and was trying to keep in his good graces when he ordered for both of us. I was skeptical but OMG....the chicago dog was SOOOO incredibly good I can't wait to go back. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Cheap too! Like, $2 or $3. I have driven past this place 100 times but won't be driving by without stopping any longer. Yum! Typical cool dive-type small mom-n-pop restaurant with great food and nice staff.
Always friendly and good food. There is some sarcasm from the workers which is all in fun. Great Chicago style hot dogs. A must is the soup of the day...never a bad choice. My favorite is Stuffed Green Pepper, usually on Tuesdays.

Quaint Restaurant/Bar in Niles. Great burgers. Good service. Cash only but ATM available on premises. If you like burgers, it's worth the trip. Rest of the menu is Bar Food. Nothing fancy here. Get at least the regular size fries. They are straight cut and tasty.
This place was great. We needed a spot to stop on our way down south and their kitchen was open until midnight!! We got there around 11:45pm and they still made us some chili and double bacon burger. Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Good. The chili was the best chili I've ever had. Wow. And the bacon chunks in it was so good. The burger was swallowed in about 5 bites. This place was cool. A bit Midwestern (ie all white people). But after the first half hour, the stares wore off.
Great burgers! Out of the way, very local and wow, the burgers are fantastic!

I ordered pulled pork platter, my companion had rib tips. The meats were delicious, and well smoked yet moist. We sampled all the sauces - each was different and tasty, clearly homemade. We liked the bourbon sauce with the rib tips and the Carolina vinegar sauce with the pulled pork. The sides were just edible. Green bean salad so cold the oil in the dressing was congealed bits (this might be the fault of health inspection requirements) and the tomatoes were tasteless. BBQ beans were nicely spicy but included waaayyy too much green pepper in a very soupy vinegary tomato-ey sauce, did not seem to have ever been "baked". Interestingly, the sauce was better on the pulled pork than on the beans! Coleslaw was fresh, crunchy, and good though - no sign of the vinegar mentioned on the menu and in other reviews. The cornbread was large, crumbly, and somewhat sweet. I ate it for dessert, it would be a very good breakfast coffeecake too. They have the usual problem with drinks only from Coke, as I must avoid both caffeine and citrus. Would have loved gingerale, but Coke distributors don't usually provide it. I later discovered there is iced tea, but no one mentioned it when we ordered at the window.
Outstanding ! Burnt ends "Squeezer" sandwich Pulled pork... Fast and reasonable! Get there early cause they sell out!
The "burnt ends", available only on the weekends, are the best barbecue I've ever had. The spicy baked beans are excellent too.

Pizza Transit

I've LOVED pizza transit pizza for as long as I can remember. I used to save my allowance money to order pizza from there when my parents would go out at night and I didn't want to eat what they had left for dinner! I think their's was the first phone number I memorized. There isn't another pizza establishment around that even compares. Fresh, high quality ingredients, friendly staff, a pizza that is always perfectly cooked and arrives to you steaming hot, if it's to your table in the restaurant or your door. If you haven't tried Pizza Transit, what are you waiting for? If you have, you know what I'm saying is the truth.
I'd say this is the best pizza in Michiana. I've got both sides of my family who have been in the pizza business their entire lives so I grew up around pizza, and Pizza Transit pizza reminds me of my childhood. The fresh handmade dough is amazing, and they don't skimp on the toppings. I hate nothing more than pizza places that don't load up on the toppings. I mean you're paying for them, so they better be on the pie! Oh, and the buffalo cheesesticks are fantastic. With a good pizza I love buffalo wings and cheese bread, but often ordering all three is just too much. Pizza Transit has solved the problem by combining buffalo spice with cheese bread so that it's all in one tasty bite.
Oh wow! This place is fantastic. We tried going there last Sunday but they didn't open till 4pm. We went yesterday. Fairly small restuarant but very clean and nice atmosphere. They have thin, regular and thick crust. We got the regular, but I didn't see much differance between the thin & thick. We ordered Italian sausage, black olive and fresh mushrooms. We got the x-large. It was out of this world. Really good. Only $17. We will definitely be back.

Olfactory Hue Bistro

Reviews:
I've eaten at Olfactory Hue many times. Always with great service . I really like how the menu changes with updates on the chefs choices. The freshness of the food is always a great thing compared to most restaurants around, especially those who favor opening a can or taking pre-made freezer products out of a box. The chef always favors local ingredients when available. I would recommend it to anyone, and I do.
This was back in 2012, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I have to say I was disappointed with the way one of the servers acted. I stopped in to discuss a catering job they were going to do for me (another bad experience, which is next). I ran into an old friend who was having lunch there. About 20 minutes before their 3 pm closing the girl actually shut off the lights and didn't say a word that it was near closing. We were sitting there in the dark still trying to comprehend what she was doing and was shocked. She just gave her the bill and wanted us out all the while getting her purse and jacket. Still didn't say anything, like sorry that I'm closing early or thank you for dining. She was right on us when we walked out with her, and quickly locked the door and left. That should've been my hint to cancel my catering with them. I'm thinking, I just gave you over $2,000 for a catering job and you shut the lights off with no warning. How rude. I specifically asked the owner's assistant if will have enough food for the party and I feared I should have more. She kept insisting I didn't need to. We ran short at the party. The rib-eye was thin sliced beef and very dry, though it was tasty from comments I got from the guests. The chicken breast was bland. The dessert went flat and was a soupy mess, as it was some chocolate chiffon/soufflé thing. I questioned whether it would hold up at a banquet type setting with the heat/humidity for that time of year (Aug.). I was assured it would be fine. I was so embarrassed and felt I wasted money. Also, it took nearly 3 weeks before the owner's assistant sent me an e-mail thanking me for hiring them. Not professional at all. For the money that I was charged, I really felt they would have more class. I never got to speak to the owner even when I asked to. I was only allowed to deal with the assistant. I wondered if she was hiding something from the owner? The assistant told me how they were just starting the catering and really wanted and needed my business, almost begging to have the chance because they could use the money to help supplement the restaurant's needs and other ventures. I wanted to help them out because I believe in helping out local businesses and new business owners get a chance. Never again.
Cute and yummy a total hidden gem. Very family friendly. I am a military spouse who travels a lot and by far this is my fave brunch place !!!
