The chili dogs, almost shoestring fries, and milkshakes, are all excellent. This place is a Muskegon classic has been serving the same simple meat-style chili on basic dogs super-quickly since the 1920s or so. I liked the dated charm of the downtown location so much, but I can get used to the little modern building here if it means I still get my G&L cheddar chili dog special when I go to Muskegon. The cheddar chili dog special with everything (which apparently means onions and mustard) is the favorite of most people I know. I was here for lunch on my birthday and felt compelled to eat two specials. What? I was hungry and it was my birthday. The brats are also good as are the grilled cheese and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. I find it hard to get out of there without ordering a chocolate shake to go. I noticed last time I was in that they also have a special shake (it was egg nog in December) and a special dog (something with hot sauce, I think this time). What wows a lot of people about this place is the super-fast service. Usually, we are seated within a minute, our order is taken within two minutes, and our meal is on the table within five minutes of walking in the door. The waitress checked back about refilling our drinks at an appropriate time and even ran our payment to the register for us. That's amazingly good service for a simple hotdog joint where the average bill for two people is about ten bucks. We visit G&L every trip to Muskegon - sometimes two or three times.

I tripped on this place coming out of town, near the airport, and I'm very glad I did! Chili Cheese Dogs (Coneys). Simple, delicious and everything you expect! I had to have 2 of them, and so I'm glad I did! Get the special with the fries and drink! Then something caught my eye: Greek Fries! What? Are you kidding me? I didn't even know what I was missing!! Fries... with Mediterranean Dressing...Gyro meat... Feta Cheese! Absolutely! Downside: It only comes in one size... large... therefore, you cannot substitute it on the special. Who cares... get it anyway... completely worth it! I've had entire Greek meals in Greek Restaurants, that couldn't figure out that all I really needed in life was Mediterranean dressing and Feta cheese! I will be back for the Buffalo Fries! 4 STARS

Best hot dogs around. The service is friendly and fast. Fresh soft hot dog buns with a wonderful Greek sauce. Child friendly menu.

Very good food between the chilli dogs, burgers, salads, shakes and the newest specialty fries. The loaded fries are my favorite. If you want quick service with good service weather you dine in or drive though I would suggest going here

The chili dogs and fries are a great deal for the price. It's one of those meals that you get a craving for every once in a while. Extremely quick service, very consistent food.
