We were in Mt Pleasant visiting CMU. Saw the ad for this place. After driving up and down the strip, decided to stop in, since it looked like something local, more than the usual chains. Very pleasant surprise. Throwback to old time diner. Nice, typical menu. Reasonable portions and prices. Great, friendly service. Worth a stop if you are in town.

Ahh well yah know... sometimes when you are on a long drive home from a long weekend you fall victim to Pixie. We were looking for something quick but not a traditional fast food restaurant to get our junk food fix. We found it as be cruised through Mt. Pleasent and saw the glowing Pixie sign. We ordered up a couple of slices of pizza and a large soda. Over all it wasn't too bad but we weren't expecting much. It did the job. Will we rush back? Nah. But over KFC or McDonalds this place was the winner.

Do not be lead astray by the cutsie name, this place will do a number on ya! The pixie is a glammed up diner. The pink and teal neon light and checkered floor are fun. There are great deals available here, if I'm not mistaken, there are 99cent chili dogs on Tuesdays. The menu as a whole is full-on greasy spoon/coney. Yum. If you'd like to participate in promotional overeating, you can see how many hotdogs/burgers you can eat and have at it. Very fun to watch also...especailly when some drunken frat boy decides to give it a whirl :) There are a zillion names on the wall from previous eons of competition. The Pixie is a Mt.P staple and a must do at least a time or two. :) The staff are great and the drive-thru option is nice in a pinch.

I'm old, which would make my dad really old. He worked at the pixie when he was in college. When we were kids we would make at least one trek to the Pixie when we would visit Michigan. I miss the place and have to concur with N.S, can there please be a Pixie near Lake Tahoe. That's a much shorter drive for me now that I'm in Cali. I suggest sticking with the conies, bitty burgers and milk shakes ... oh I'm hungry now!

This is one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in town! I start craving a Coney from Pixie about a month before my visit, so it's usually a first stop when I arrive in Mt.P! I grew up eating here and I'm glad they've kept most of the original menu. The grinders are also really good! The 50's style diner is cool along with all the names on the wall of the winners of the Coney and Bitty Burger Challenge. Great place to eat for people of any age!!

Got some pretty awful food poisoning here back in April from one of their flatbreads. And to top it off, during the same visit I had ordered one of their ice creams which is comparable to a mcflurry, and in my first bite I tasted peanut butter and looked at the ice cream which clearly had peanut butter I DID NOT order any peanut butter in it, for I am extremely allergic to. You'd think they'd be more careful considering how common peanut allergies are.

In Detroit, the coney dog is one of the most iconic foods of the area and believe I grew up on some of the best coneys in the world. So when I was told I could get a coney here, my tough standards jumped into place. How did it fare? Well, Pixie has a plain, almost disposable chili dog. Its not quite filling and is really is almost bland as can be. There are no onions unless you ask for them and the onions are not cut thin. The hot dogs have no real casing so there is none of the resistance you would expect from a high quality dog when you bite in. The chili is also bland and just serviceable. It was not a coney. It was a chili dog. Now, the pizza is awesome! Tastes great and they didnt skimp on the sauce. Fries are good, milkshakes are thick and rich and one of the best things there. The grinders are nothing to write home about: lots of bread and very little meat. You can get a better grinder elsewhere. The real appeal of Pixie is the 50s diner look and feel, fast service, and if you eat enough conies or mini burgers your name goes on the wall. It's clean and pleasant to eat there. I will be back.

We stopped in for lunch. My wife and I had burgers. They were good but not great. A little bit too greasy. Place has a '50s theme with 1950s music playing. Popular place with a lot people coming and going.

Cute diner with a 50's theme! We ate here late on a Wed evening after my grandpa's funeral visitation and the staff was friendly, food was a traditional diner menu but excellent in flavor and service. My parents ate there while in high school so it was fun hearing about the memories of their era!
