They did a wonderful job with the luncheon after my husband's memorial service. Everyone reported that the food was wonderful, and the service was so good that I didn't even notice them. Maybe that sounds like a slight, but it's not. I was distracted with other things and they came in, got everything set up, served and cleaned up without me having to answer a single question, which is exactly what I needed. They worked with me to make sure there was vegan options, and dishes my husband would've enjoyed. I'm vegetarian myself, so I didn't have the chicken picatta that was served, but everyone reported that it was wonderful. The vegetarian mostaccioli, which can be the blandest dish ever, was actually incredibly tasty. There was plenty of food (even though I think we ended up with more people than I had estimated), and plenty of leftovers (most of which were donated to the homeless). If I needed a local caterer, I would definitely use them again. Highly recommended. The fact that the company is named after a Hemingway book that my husband had shared with me just makes me love them that much more.

Bourbon Street Bistro is phenomenal ! Just had dinner with six of my friends, the food was great, staff was super down to earth, and the live jazz band they have on Fridays is great!! I had the babyback ribs and they were outta this world fellas! They smoke them on the premises and their whiskey sauce is to die for! Also we had the jambalaya and I'm not lying when I say you AREN'T GONNA BEAT THIS JAMBALAYA! Was really impressed with how our waiter was going back and forth inside waiting on us and outside to tend to the smoker! Main goal was to make sure our experience there was good. Definitely will spread the word, but right now it feels like our little secret!
Went in for lunch today with my wife. Had the Oyster Po'boy and Gumbo. The wife had the Blackened Catfish and Jambalaya. The service was excellent and the food was good but, sadly not great. The coleslaw was very good, the corn bread was a bit too moist and dense, the so-called "Blackened" catfish, was not really blackened. The Jambalaya was good but a bit dry. Jambalaya comes in many forms but the best walks a fine line between stew (or Gumbo) and dirty rice. I thought the Gumbo was decent but came too green and it had flakes of fake crab (krab) in it. Really, fake crab in the Gumbo? Overall, we were pleased but one thing kinda disappointed me. The Oyster Po'boy was just average at best. A po'boy should be made using a French bread, such as a baguette. Classically, you need that slightly hard or crunchy crust with a soft interior, especially when you have a mushy filling such as oysters (which were slightly under cooked) or catfish, you need that texture balance with a hard crusted bread. This is what separates a po'boy from an ordinary sub or grinder. I cannot say I enjoyed the po'boy, I've had much better. What saved it was the excellent coleslaw and very good remoulade sauce. I think the restaurant does a good job but, with such a highly competitive market, in a slightly depressed location, they really need to step it up a notch or two. I spent almost $40 on lunch with tip and I could have done better with the money elsewhere. We will return for a second visit, perhaps to try the breakfast which they serve only on Sunday and perhaps another lunch or dinner and hopefully, Bourbon Street has taken notes and improved a bit to keep us coming back. I will be happy to revise this review with more positive impressions but for now, I am giving it an average three stars.
My fiance and I were looking for something different to have for dinner last night and boy did we find it. We started with the gumbo and alligator bites. Soo good. He got the shrimp po boy sandwich. He said it was the best sandwich he's ever had. I ordered the frog legs, they were succulent and seasoned well. Our server was so friendly and highly knowledgeable. Great service. We will be going back for sure. I highly reccomend this place.

Worlds best waitress Nicole quit so I'll probably hardly ever go back food is good but the other waitresses seem fake
Arrgh! I (think) my waitress was Shirley. She did a great job taking care of me at my late lunch. Always a great meal for your money here. 99¢ Coney dogs on Monday and Tuesday. Military / police / fire / EMS get 10% discount.

Good, dependable food at very reasonable prices. Waitresses very friendly, hard working ladies. Family place
I'm giving this place a 5 star, as it's worth every bit of it compared with other mom-n-pop places. I've been there quite a few times, either with family or my girlfriend, and I leave happy all the time. Their prices are excellent, they have a very large selection of different kinds of foods, and the portions let you leave with lunch for the next day. To top if off, service has always been excellent. It's not much to look at as it's a bit dated, but you'd be hard pressed to find another place like this with such a value. Some of you may be wondering about the parking. Rule #1: Slow down and make sure you don't drive past the place. Rule #2: Park in the back or on the side. I'm not sure if there is actually real parking in the front or not, but it's best to be avoided either way. I've never really gone there for any sort of agenda other than enjoying the company I'm with in a relaxed environment. It's a place where the food comes second in my book, but plays perfectly into the nonchalant experience. That's not to say that the food is bad. I just don't go there expecting to indulge in an articulated complex array of flavors, licking my plate and wishing for more. It's kind of like a really good coney place, except with lots and lots more options. In fact, I got soup (I ate it with a couple bread rolls), eggplant Parmesan, and sherbet last time I went. My family and I were pleasantly surprised when we were told that all of our meals came with dessert. You just don't see places where desert comes by default anymore! Days after, the leftover eggplant Parmesan hit the spot too, and is something I highly recommend to anyone. It's not fancy, but it sure is filling and tasty! I also attribute the five stars to the experiences I've had here over the years. My grandma used to take me here all the time, which is something that unfortunately will never happen again. I hope the Royal Cafe will stay around long enough for me to make many more memories at. I'm not in Mt. Clemens very much anymore since I moved, but when I'm visiting my parents, this place is always at the top of the list of places for dinner. Give it a whirl if you're looking to stretch a buck!
This place has good food and good service. The staff is great. The food is good you always leave full. It's just a great place to bring the family and my whole family loves it. Will be back and have been.

I ordered the Mexican Omelette breakfast, apparently from the Clean Plate Club®. It was a pretty hardy meal, complete with hash browns and toast. The hash browns were a little dry, but since I'm trying to get my bikini figure back, I guess they were healthier than if they were dripping in grease, perhaps. Otherwise, this continues to be a great breakfast stop along Groesbeck Highway in Mount Clemens. Service is always prompt and courteous!
Their Spinach Pie is terrific! Husband and I both like the Golden Greek Special Omelet. People are nice and the good is good.
Great classic Greek diner. Been going there for more than 15 years and I keep going back!!

Today was my second visit and not only are the baked goods absolutely delicious and worth coming back again and again, but the gals behind the counter provide the best customer service. Gloria is an absolute sweetheart and makes you feel like family. Thank you for the great service and wonderful baked goods. You will see me again!
get in early because fresh baked goods don't always last. This is a diamond in the rough. Fried croissants are the devil! At first it seems impossible to eat two but then the first one goes down so easy! The people are really nice and the service is quick.
Can I just say how wonderful these ladies are!!!!! We always get their Paczki and donuts for all our events. Their Christmas cookies are to die for and they have an assortment of breads? Pasties, pies cakes. Etc. make sure to grab a dozen next time your at Cass and Groesbeck!.

Louies Ham and Cornbeef

Reviews:
Oh man.. you want good pork in your life... come to Louies! The restaurant is small and cozy, the parking lot is a bit cramp and they have a DRIVE THROUGH. Yes people.. a drive through. So if you want a meal but want to avoid all people contact: call your order in and literally in 10 minutes you can drive right up to the window and grab your tasty treat. I even order right at the drive through and my food was ready in minutes. Not a long wait at all. I also believe they deliver. I think you have to spend up to $35, but this joint delivers! Get your co workers to have a cute little office picnic, order a bunch of meat and have Louies come to you. I think that's the perfect scenario for an office lunch date. Corned beef is the best and I always get some sort of corned beef hash (either the corned beef hash breakfast with 2 eggs or the corned beef omelet). I know I should venture out and eat more pig goodies but I'm obsessed with their homemade corned beef. Try it. Love it. Sandwiches are staked: like meat on meat on meat. I could eat 1/2 for lunch and save the other 1/2 for dinner. Pastrami (my favorite meat ever) is a must try. It does get a bit packed on weekend mornings so either come early or come in the afternoon. They serve breakfast all day. Happy Eating!
So I stopped at this little joint the other day for lunch. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and a side of fries. Total was $11.66, which is so-so for the amount and quality. The food was hot and fresh which was one of the biggest pluses. The pastrami was tasty but sadly the bread got rather soggy after a while. You really didn't taste the sauerkraut and the dressing was given on the side with some pickles(also very greasy). The atmosphere was okay but slightly awkward. There a lot of pig figurines all around. The service was polite but not very warm. It appeared clean but for some reason it didn't feel clean. Overall I might come back but probably not. I get the sense that this place really takes care of their regulars.
We have been coming here for years. When you use to order the Louie's Ham stack it would come with a piece of ham on top of the bun, which they have parted ways with. That was our fav part for some reason. Maybe because we have never seen it before. The buns have changed it seems. They're still good but taste cheaper and thawed from being frozen. I hope they kick it back up a notch, I don't want to have to try and find a new ham place.

It's a local, neighborhood, friendly dive bar. I usually don't run across too many working professionals here, even though the courthouse is just a few blocks away. No menu. They cook out on the weekends and holidays. When food is available, it's complimentary. Friendly place!
