I ate breakfast here four times now. It's a great place to relax and have a cup of coffee. The waitress is always super nice and the cook makes good food. I would highly recommend the Mexican omelette. The salsa they use is home made.

We went here for Father's Day. Being new to the area, we checked out the reviews before heading over. Needless to say, we were expecting way more out of the food. The service was fine, a little flustered because it was so packed, but personable. At first, I went for the eggs and toast, but I was told it's only available for the price listed on weekdays. Back to the menu, I chose a vegetarian Greek omelette. Easy, right? My husband ordered the same, excepting with meat. Apparently, they thought if they chopped the meat small enough, I wouldn't notice. No thank you! We will not be returning.

I wish I could give this place more stars, just because it's locally owned. But unfortunately the food was.. Well it just wasn't. I only tried breakfast so it's a partial judgement. The ambiance: Place is small. 7 tables that seat a total of 28-30 people? It's very cute though, decor is nice and it's clean (so is the bathroom!). The service: Lady was super nice and sweet. Looked like a one man show though, she was taking orders, servicing tables and I think she might have also been the cook? The food: My omelette was your average diner omelette. She used fresh mushrooms and you could chose your own cheese. Toast was toast. The potatoes? The tasted like it was the leftover crumbs from a bottom of a bag, forgotten deep inside of a freezer. My sons pancakes? I wouldn't call them pancakes, they were more like thick crepes. They were fried, thin and a little too chewy. Coffee was good, no complaints. Would I come back here? Probably not, unless a bunch of yelpers had better experience than I. But ten I'm a huge supporter of locally owned businesses, so you never know. I might just pop back in for another try.

Two words, Gnocchi Casserole. I crave it. This is the sister restaurant to Detroit Beach Pizzeria which I grew up eating. They keep the delicious italian family recipes going on the other side of town. Friendly chef who will come out and talk to you if you want, you can tell he cooks with love and tradition. One more tip, they don't serve alcohol but guests are welcomed to BYOB!! So if you're in the harbor and want some authentic family pizza or pasta please, grab a bottle of wine and swing in this little hidden gem.

Should probably get 2.5 stars, but not 3. The restaurant seating area is exceptionally small, which isn't bad except that the front door opens right to a table in the middle of the dining room. On a cold, windy day - it's miserable every time the door opens/closes. We went in for breakfast at 11 am on a Sunday. We waited about 10 minutes for a table then were seated at a table that was still pretty dirty. We then waited another 10 minutes just to get coffee, 5 more minutes before we could order breakfast - then 27 minutes for the food to arrive. 27 minutes for pancakes and an omelette! Do the math - 52 minutes from when we arrived until when the food arrived. If you do go in, allow yourself ample time. The food was decent, but just decent. And the value was just average - my bill was $27 for two people. Given the very limited restaurant options in Monroe, this place is no worse than others, but it's a long way from good.

I have had a love for Bolles Harbor for year because back about 10 years ago it was the best place ever to eat. The guy who owns/cooks was amazing and everything was delicious, fresh seafood, to die for sandwiches, etc. Recently because his services has gone down hill and he doesn't have as strong sous chefs it isn't as good! Be PREPARED TO WAIT every time I go there now I have to wait forever. Luckily his food is still really good (when he is cooking) and he often comes out, says hi and check on you. It's a VERY SMALL dining room, maybe 8 tables. I still highly recommend is because it can be so good, and for Monroe it's wonderful, but just the little things have fallen to the wayside in recent years.

My wife and I have lived in Monroe for over 18 years and we do not know how we missed this restaurant out all these time. After sitting down I was surprised how nice the regular customers were, telling me what they enjoyed form the menu. I ordered the Gnocci Casserole and my wife had the chicken Parmesan and both were very good. After the waitress found out that this was our first time at the restaurant the owner Silverio Conte. came to our table and welcomed us to his restaurant. I noticed a sign on the wall noting UTR: Under the Radar Michigan. I looked it up and they were on TV Monroe@11:30 BHC@21:31 utrmichigan.com/episodes… If the pasta tastes familiar that is because Mr. Conte worked at Detroit Beach Restaurant & Pizzeria for 30 years. Silverio also said if you ever get a bad meal just go next door and knock on his door. All we can say it was a pleasant surprise and we will be back.

This place was highly recommended to us by TWO friends. We sauntered over one night and thought it was OK. I think the normal chef was off that night though, so maybe it would be better when the regular chef was working. Service was quick and the waitress was amusingly quirky and opininated, which was funny and made the experience interesting. They had newspapers to read, which was great. The food was very obviously homecooked, but the salad was somewhat weak and bland. I had pasta, which was awesome. Great marinara sauce. I might try this place again, but won't be running back.
