The husband was starving and this is literally the closest restaurant to our house so we ventured in. I wish we had gone to McDonald's instead.... the food would have been better and we would have spent $35 less! + our server riley was nice and attentive. It was dead so other than her graciously speaking to the lonesome 40 something guy at the bar, we were her only table. + they carry leinenkugel. Summer shandy, short on the pricey side at $3.99. - food was nothing to write home about. The chips that came with the artichoke dip were super stale and our entrees were hardly any better. I would have had a better meal in Novi at denny's. - pricing. -air conditioning broken? It was hot enough in the restaurant that I was sweating. -music playing and atmosphere leave much to be desired. Sad that this place disappointed. We won't be returning and we won't be referring people to said place for eats.

H&J's is very cognizant of the review's on YELP yet have done little to improve their service, pricing or ambiance. I will continue to order take out, but probably will not dine in ever again. What is good about Hector and Jimmy's? The food is good, fix the other things and you would have a good place. At a time when Milford House, Blue Grille and others are attracting patrons, H&J's is still just a bar.

The food and the service was very good today. We had Frog Legs and the Cowboy Ribeye. We will come again

Fish and chips sucks....go to Kroger and buy some frozen fish sticks would be a better meal. SLOW Service to boot.

About eight years ago, I had the worst gumbo ever at Hector & Jimmy's, and refused to set foot in the place ever again. Recently, I got talked in to going with a small group for burger night, and I've gotta say, it was pretty good. Inside, the decor and layout have kind of an 80's feel, but not in an intentionally retro way. Maybe it's the paneling and lighting. I didn't mind it, but it was kind of odd to me. Service was quite good, and the food was pretty decent. It's not the best burger I've ever had by a long shot. But for six bucks and change? Pretty great. That gumbo still has me apprehensive about the place, but I might have to get adventurous and show up on not-burger night.

Well, my wife ordered a dinner salad with her meal and it didn't come, and didn't come and didn't come. When our food came she asked about the salad and the waitress said it would be out in a few more minutes! That would make it a Desert! Salad should come BEFORE the main dish in our book. Overpriced for what we got. $55.00 for two people without the~~~ Dessert Salad! However , when we got the bill we were still charged $2.75 for a side salad that we didn't get. GEESH! Poor service. We are in NO HURRY to go back here!

I agree with the first review to an extent. I think the wait staff is hit and miss, I mean some of them are great, while others so-so. The food is on the "pricey for what you get" side but always good. Sometime you don't mind paying a little more if the service is superb. Maybe it's time for a management look at things from customer's experience. Years ago I thought it was a little classier with more divided areas, maybe I'm wrong. The entertainment has always been high quality. I would love to see a change as I thought this was the flagship of the chain, their other places are well run.

I ate here a few weeks ago and it wasn't the best food I've ever had. The ribs were alright but I wouldn't call them great by any means. Like previous reviews, I also agree that the food isn't worth what you pay for it at all. I don't mind the restaurant, but I also don't think I'd really like to come back any time soon- for the food atleast. I'm not of drinking age so maybe it's more of a place to "grab a drink" with friends, but I don't know.

Not a fan of this place. I only gave it two stars because others have told me they like it. I've been here 4 times but won't be going again. Their menu is expensive, but I don't think most of the food is worth the price. I always had to wait a long time for the waitress to bring the drinks, the food, anything they forgot, etc. Service was not friendly--kind of snobby. When I asked for an entree to be changed a little (only taking something off a salad), it was a BIG THING and they gave me crap about it. I won't ever go here again, and I would recommend that you not waste your money here, either.

Skip it. The food is way overpriced for what you get and just not that good...

My friend and I came here for dinner last night and it was my first time here. Place had a decent menu, but some of the items were a bit pricey. Great variety, dim lighting, kind of had half a bar feeling to it, along with a nicer restaurant feel. They have a full bar here, and even though I didn't drink, she went with a beer. We split the appetizer of artichoke dip which was pretty tasty. I went with the cowboy burger, and even though I can't remember what she had, we both enjoyed our food. It's not a bad place, but the prices seem a bit much for the style restaurant that it was. The only complaint was that the service was SLOW. Even though we both enjoyed our waitress, it took forever for her to come to our table to get our order. My friend did feel a bit rushed to order when she arrived, but after a while she seemed to get the hang of checking on us regularly. I don't mind coming here. It's not a bad place. Just really slow service. The food is pretty good, and I really enjoyed my time here, but I just can't give it more then three stars. I can't think of anything to specifically improve the place, but it's decent if your in town and want a decent place to eat.

The good: The warm potato chips appetizer with bacon and Gorgonzola was fabulous! At $5.99 it was more than enough for two and had we known how good it was we would have just had that and called it a night. We both had the fried chicken salad which was huge. The chicken was good but it was fried in the same oil as the fish, giving it a slightly fishy taste. The bad: The specialty drink was a apple pie martini. It wasn't mixed very well and didn't taste very good. It wasn't sweet at all and I found out why when I got down to the bottom of the drink and there was a bunch of sugar in the Y of the martini glass. At $7 it should have been a lot better. My friend Amy got a chocolate martini and it was just as bad. The Ugly: The bill was $50 which seemed expensive. The service was ok, the place was kind of nice but don't sit in the booths because they are hard as a rock. I'm not sure i would go back, but then again, those warm potato chips were really good....

Wow, very disappointing!! Have lived in Milford for 15 years and hadn't been to hector and Jimmy's for years so thought we'd try it. Food was bad and service was worse. We got a visit from the owner after my wife's steak showed up well done (ordered med rare) -- he was snarky and had no interest in creating a happy customer. I had assumed this place was good since it's been open forever -- no such luck. I have NO idea how this place stays in business.

I went here with My Husband, we were seated given an expensive dinner menu, and ordered our drinks, they didn't come, we ordered our food, our drinks came, we sat and we sat, no food.... No refills for our drinks.... We sat some more, no waitress, there was no one else in the entire place, and there was one waitress, still no waitress, finally food, I ordered the taco salad, it was cold.... I was starving, I didn't want to send it back, the think was SO small it was NOT worth the expensive price they were charging for it!!! My Husband's burger was cold, we ate, still no refills on our drinks, rude attitude from the waitress when we asked for refills, we got our check, and left.... We have not returned in seven years and will NOT return every again!

Hector and Jimmy's has been one of my family's favorite resturants since I was little. The food is great and quite diverse, there's everything from seafood to mexican on one menu. The staff is generally fantastic, but like any other location in the service industry, there are bad days too. They have an amazing beer selection too!
