Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Pizza Sam's is a Midland institution. Their pizzas are hand tossed (you can see them behind the glass, and they will playfully interact with any kids who are watching). Prices are a bit higher than the major chains, and they don't easily fit into the category of New York thin crust or Chicago deep dish. But you'll probably be quite pleased with their rendition. Since they moved into their large dining room location on Main Street they serve beer and wine. In addition to Pizza, there are also a variety of other options, but come for the pizza.

When my (now adult) kids return to Midland, Pizza Sam's is always on their must list.

Great little place in a beautiful downtown area. The wait staff is great... I had Janae and I would recommend you ask to be seated in her section. The chicken sub that I had was great and was a good price for the size. My friend got a pizza slice and she said it was phenomenal! I would recommend this place to anyone just going through town or local. Great place and a must visit!!!

Not bad pizza. We got the breadsticks and Greek salad for apps. The breadsticks were definitely just okay- I'd skip them unless you are really hungry and need more carbs. The salad was good. Fairly standard - can't complain. The pizzas were definitely good. We got a make your own veggie and it came out fantastic- literally right out of the oven since they had gotten the first order wrong and we unfortunately had to send it back. The cheese was very gooey and the flavor was overall great. Good crust as well. The other was a cheese and it was good- seemed to have different cheese on it than mozzarella- I'd get it again. The last pizza was a meat pizza which I didn't they so can't comment. Overall not bad if you're visiting the town and want to get out a bit.

Went to pizza sams with my girlfriend tonight and was pleased with the Sam's Special. Fresh ingredients and a liberal amount of toppings made for an above average pizza. Also got the mozzarella bread sticks. My girlfriend loved the ranch that went with it, I was indifferent about it. It was a good appetizer. Another treat was seeing midland athletic royalty, Andrew Maxwell (MSU QB flameout). Overall a good experience with fast and friendly service.

The pizza and breadsticks I had were nothing to write home about. Was not impressed at all.

Went there today and placed a to-go slice with fries. I can back about 15 minutes later to pick up my food. The lady at the front just looked at me so I assumed my food wasn't ready. Another lady was calling out an order and asked if it was mine. I said it wasn't and said what my order number was. 5 minutes later, the lady that asked if the order was mine finally looked in the warmer and saw my food was there. Needless to say, the unfriendly cashier who took my order made me wait another 15 minutes AFTER I walked in gave me a blank look as I walked out in disgust. I love Pizza Sam's but I don't recommend ordering to-go.

I confused this Midland Pizza Place for Alma's stand alone Pizza Sam's. While it was a good, small town pizza Place it does not compare to Alma's. The pizza here was good, the crust was well done and there was a good amount of cheese. The cheese sticks were very good, better than the average pizza place. Baked perfectly and very garlicky. The restaurant is pretty basic. You order at the counter and soda is self serve. There are plenty of tables and is a typical family friendly atmosphere. They do have a small patio where you can eat outside if the weather is nice.

I always order from the online delivery site. I love the fact that it arrives fresh, hot and amble toppings! And the site had its flaws, like it didn't take my card one night. But the place didn't hound me for the $$ either, it was a lack of communication from the management/employees. I will forever come here or order from here as long as I'm living in Midland!

The pizza was good. The wait staff was pleasant. The only thing I can say is maybe a little expensive but not too bad. Definitely better than your cookie cutter cardboard with sauce on it the pizza tasted fresh homemade and breadsticks were tasty.

what happened? The food quality seams to have been disapointing as of late. i have always favored their pizza and now the crust is so crisp its dry and hard to eat. i also thought they had the best crispy fries in town. last 4 times they have been soggy and tasteless. its unfortunate.

The Meat Madness pizza was awesome! The ham is cut into matchsticks topping the pie! The sauce might be considered sweet to some, but was perfect for all that meat! We walked in at about 5:30 on a Friday and avoided the queue that formed 10 minutes later! Not sure about the rest of the menu, but the breadsticks and the Meat Madness pie was superb!

This is a great place to go and eat dinner. There are TV all around, a place where little kids can watch the chefs make pizza, and they have great pizza. The Meat Lovers is great, and so are their salads.

Hate that Pizza Sam uses styrofoam cups and plates. Salad is awful. Pizza is only ok. I would rather get a papa John pizza. Chicken noodle soup tastes like campbells. Flies flying everywhere.

In Midland, downtown is the only spot that has really authentic restaurants - or something a bit different to offer. Pizza Sam's has been here forever and it is amazing. They serve great pizza, sandwiches, and ice cream! They also now serve beer and wine and have a great patio in the summer. This is an amazing place for dinner on a weekend night, or somewhere to grab a quick meal. Always busy on Friday nights and during lunch on the weekday. They have just expanded the dining area and have a great banquet area now. Worth visiting Midland for...

Pizza is mediocre. I love the atmosphere and look of this place, only wish that they had a better crust and a tastier sauce. The crust is a bit too thin and cracker-like. This is a very family-friendly restaurant with lots of open space and tables for everyone. A few small tables for outside dining.
