Their burgers are amazing and the onion rings are my favorite! This place has a well rounded menu with something to please everyone!

The food is excellent on the five or six different visits. Wait staff is very efficient. The Cobb salad is excellent, but even for me a little on the large side. My last visit I had the daily special, sloppy joe, and it was excellent. Easy to get to Kern's department store located next door. Parking is good other in the lot in back, on the street or in the lot two doors down just past the Bad Beer Brewery.

Oh My Gosh! "Michigan cherry salad is great! Cute place... Well that was my original reaction but it started out wonderful and got better and better! My daughter has just moved to the town of Mason, MI. She took us to the town center to see everything and find a place for lunch. We chose this little ecclectic eating establishment, that was not only original and quaint, but the food was wonderful! We started out with a surprise when you walk in. The employees actually were smiling and genuinely seemed to enjoy spending time there! The girl that sat us answered a few of our questions and then we started to look at the menu. It had so many different things to choose from and not all are Mexican as the name may seem to suggest.Though, there are several Mexican items to choose from, including: Taco Salad, enchilada's, chimichanga's and an enchilada type soup. There were many different entree's, sandwiches, soups, salads and appetizers. The only thing I didn't check was desserts, I am unsure about those. My husband ordered a horseradish /Roast beef sandwich. His sandwich was very thin, with not much meat on it at all, though the taste was "great"! My husband says he wishes that he'd have complained, but we were having such a nice time, he didn't want to say anything since it tasted delectable! The french fries were awesome too, by the way! I ordered the "Michigan Cherry Salad" and OMG!...That's all I can say!! "OMG"!!! ...No...really...it was the best salad that I've had anywhere, anytime! It had small, white mean chunks of real chicken atop of a bed of Romaine lettuce, feta cheese, dried cherries, candied walnuts and all tossed in a most "yummy" raspberry vinagerette dressing!! I could eat one of these salads every day and never get tired of it....THAT's how good it was! My daughter had the "BLT wrap" and it was very tasty and had just enough Mayo and the bacon was real and it was nice and crispy! I must let you know that I did in fact, taste both of their lunches and I could have eaten any of these items! I know that next time we visit the Baja Grill, I will try one of these other great dishes and then another and another! Gosh, I hope my daughter lives in the area for quite awhile! I definitely recommend this restaurant for its great food, many different choices to pick from, quiet and cozy atmosphere along with very respectable and wonderful employees!

No nonsense, tasty food that is cooked well. We stopped in for lunch and both ordered burgers - DH's medium well and mine medium rare. Both were perfectly cooked! This is so rare that the place gets an extra star! The burger and fries were otherwise fairly straightforward. DH had chili instead of fries and we had enough to split my fries. The chili was OK - again nothing special but well cooked for the type of chili it was (think Hormel style chili flavoring in a chili that seemed home made and actually tasted good). We'll be back! Update: Get the potato skins. Possibly the best I've ever had.

I got a Caesar salad. The lettuce was pretty flavorless and some of the pieces were wilted and gross. The Parmesan was completely flavorless (probably scooped from a big GFS jar of "Parmesan flavored food item") and there was hardly any dressing. My fiancee just had a grilled cheese with fries, but even that was bad. I realize this place is supposed to be a "Mexican" place, but none of their Mexican dishes were meatless. My fiancee and I got the only two meatless dishes on the whole menu. The only good thing we had was some fried cauliflower as an appetizer. This seems to be just about the only place to eat in downtown Mason. But if I'm ever down there again, I'll drive somewhere else rather than eat here.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Mason. It isn't smoky, the food is good, and the prices are low. They have a very nice fruit plate that we often get as an appetizer. Their sandwiches and tacos are probably our favorite meal. A mix of American style food and "americanized" Mexican. If Mason wasn't so close I probably wouldn't eat here as much as I do. If you live in the area though it is one of the best local places to eat. My favorite place to sit is in one of the window seats. You can relax and watch the town while you eat. The atmosphere is probably better than the food. Plus my friends enjoy sitting in the window seat because we can watch the guy who loudly sings on the street corners when the weather is nice. It is almost like dinner theater. When we are looking to eat out and don't want to drive far this is where we stop. The wait staff is very friendly and we've never had bad service there.

Great local family place. Decent food and terrific atmosphere. Attached to Keans makes a visit with kids fly by as you can shop and play while you wait for your food. Unfortunatly service is consistantly slow so if you are in a hurry you might want to look for another option.

Sad to say that Baja Grill is now Closed. There was a fire in Mid June 2015 that destroyed the restaurant.

Sad to report Baja Grille is closed due to a fire last night in the basement of the grille. Damage was great. Not sure if and when it will reopen.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
