I stop in here EVERY time I travel from Kansas to Marine City. Friendly service, the BEST date cookies and bars. A wonderful selection of pastries and great coffee !
Paul's Bakery did cupcakes for my wedding. Not only were they completely affordable and delicious, but they were EXACTLY what I wanted! The cupcakes were the only part of my wedding that went exactly as planned. They did an amazing job! I would HIGHLY recommend them! i1255.photobucket.com/al…
Paul's Bakery is wonderful! They made a special cake for my granddaughter's 1st birthday last year and it was fantastic! And the cupcakes were a big hit. I stopped in on Monday for paczkis to take to an elderly family member, and she absolutely loved them!!

Very small business with the owner and two employees at most. The hours are kind of odd (I believe he is closed on Tuesdays, or at least he was when I was last in town) but this place is unbelievably good. My favorites are the white pizza and breadsticks, though Pepe's also has other dinner type items. This store has been a staple of Marine City for years but I have this nagging feeling that it will disappear one of these days...so go get some white pizza before it's too late!

Roasted With Perks

Great little coffee shop in a quaint little area. Stopped in and grabbed a coffee with some friends and chatted it up with some of the locals. Walked along side the river afterwards enjoying the rest of the coffee I had. My friend had the house specialty-pick me up...and the other friend had the death wish.
This little gathering spot in downtown Marine City holds a special place in our hearts. We frequently begin or end bicycle tours in Marine City and Roasted with Perks is always on our list of must-visit places. The owners and staff are genuinely kind, gracious people who act as if they have nothing they would rather do than offer you a good experience, talk coffee or simply find out about your day. The coffee shop is large but comfortable, nicely laid out, equipped with efficient wifi, and conducive to private conversation. It's location on Main Street Marine City is perfect. Sit by one of their large windows or at an outside table and watch freighters meander by on the St. Clair River. We have enjoyed tasty baked goods from a nice variety of choices. Achatz soups have been on the lunch menu. Yummy. We are mocha snobs and like, but don't live their offerings. A bit too sweet and watery for our tastes. However, their coffee and smoothie options are plentiful and look delicious. A coffee shop if this nature is a wonderful asset to Marine City.
I absolutely love this place! It has great food and a great view of the river. I love the "Water street special," a turkey sandwich on cranberry orange ciabatta bread. It's to die for! The other sandwiches are good too. They have burgers and coney dogs too. Great place for lunch!

One of my favorites! Everything about this place is awesome.
Excellent beer selection, many craft beers from around Michigan. The ribs are amazing! It is a small place but it makes up for its size with a big hearty selection of great food!
This place is a gem! Excellent food and a great atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back. This was a last-minute find for some friends and I. I am happy that we stumbled upon it.

Won Ton Palace

Well, we liked Won Ton Palace so much we went back. Different wait staff. Not as friendly or professional. Different cook? Potstickers were very good but greasy. They weren't last time. Won ton soup was lukewarm and won tons in soup were doughy. Egg rolls were the best ever again. The entrees were very good again: shredded shrimp and sesame chicken. Maybe we'll wait longer than two days to go back.
The food isn't horrible, and if it's too late at night to go anywhere else, then I'll eat here. But it's not my favorite and it's definitely not the "best Chinese for miles around" by any means. Pretty over-priced and mediocre for the food quality.
Best Chinese food I've ever had. I keep trying other places hoping that I can find a place closer than 30 minutes from my house, but while Leong's will do in a pinch, I more often find myself making the hour round trip to get Wonton Palace. My only complaints are that they charge the same amount as other Chinese restaurants for less food, and the restaurant hasn't been updated for at least 20 years, it is exactly the same as I remember as a kid. Egg rolls are the best I've ever had and I cannot get enough of the Chinese fried shrimp. They also have very good fried rice, almond chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, and crab rangoon.

Go for the view. The staff are often inattentive. They offer a strange breadbasket with weird crouton looking crusts. I've never seen anyone eat them and can't believe they throw the huge basket away between diners. All of my table tonight had various fish only available deep fried. Fries were tepid, potato pancakes were barely seasoned and greasy. Salad was mostly iceberg lettuce. It was adequate, but nothing special. My waiter came after a long wait and other tables seated nearby were already on their salad before we were able to order. My potato soup was decent.
Wow! I can't believe no one has reviewed this place! I know for every little town there's a little restaurant where all the blue hairs gather. This seems to be the place, but for good reason! They always have something good at special. I've never got a meal here that hasn't been cooked to order. The food is always fresh. The salads are terrific. The pizza is always nice and hot and very good. Their clam chowder actually has clams in it if you can believe that! Make sure to try the fish and chips at least once! Just give me a favor and don't go there expecting some five-star meal. This is a small restaurant in a small town and it serves regular homemade food. I don't see this being the place for hipsters or people looking to expand their pallet. If you like fresh hot burgers, simple homemade dinners and a very friendly waitstaff, this is the place for you! Make sure you sit in the back of the restaurant. This gives you the best view to watch the St. Clair River lazily roll by. Sometimes you might even see the lake freighter or two!
Great view of the St. Clair river and the ferry to Canada. We went there on a Wednesday evening for dinner. I had seafood pasta and cabbage soup. Both very tasty with nice amount of shrimp, scallops and crab. The portions were generous. My companions had the taco salad and the cheeseburger. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. Prices were about average for a place on the river. Very much a family oriented place.

Had a bad experience the other night=had to wait awhile to be served and we were at high tops near the bar. My friend ordered a rum and coke with almost NO rum in it-she was very unhappy-they charged us .75 to order a take out for a friend-overpriced and very disappointing not to mention the lack of service. Stick with Monday pizza I guess Until you get tired of that. Then go somewhere else..
Nice place with some good offerings. Seems to have improved (food) since last year. We go here every several weeks and recently enjoyed a great salmon salad and the new Mexican Sandwich. Decent tap beers, and good staff. Since Anita passed, not sure their heart is into it as was hers, but an OK place, and nice when weather allows the deck. Also, a popular Canadian hang out. Try it!
My family loves Anita's! The food and service is always consistent, even with large groups. The menu and selection is huge, and everything is delicious (with the exception of their ranch dressing, which is mediocre-- but I'm a ranch snob ). When the weather is nice, their patio is perfect for sitting on the water and watching freighters go by. I especially recommend trying their cheese bread or bacon bread as an appetizer! You won't be disappointed.

We've been to gar's in the past, and I wasn't impressed then nor am I now. Everyone raves about their cheese hamburgers ...Umm it's a dry slab of over-cooked meat, burnt from the flat top.. . Not my idea of a good burger. The bun isn't toasted; you get no pickle, lettuce, tomato to make it less DRY. My biggest complaint is that the ONLY cheese they offer for a cheeseburger is Swiss yak! The fries were decent, but I can go to McDonald's for less money and get better quality fries. I thought the place had an unkempt, run-down look to it. On the positive side, they had the Tiger's game on.
Burger and a brew place. Popped in Sunday evening for a quick bite. Forgot that the burgers only come in size "huge". I didn't request a toasted bun, and I felt the bread was a bit soggy. They were out of American Cheese and we had to ask to sub cheddar. The bacon could have been cooked a bit more. The fries were perfect, the 2 other deep fried apps: (cauliflower and cheese bites) were bar joint great. My friend didn't like the slightly greasy refillable ketchup bottle and the place wasn't dirty, but not immaculate. My beer glass was a bit foamy but the price can't be beat. It's not a "lounge" but a local watering hole. The bar area is dark and doesn't give a very welcoming feel. The side room is more comfortable, bright, and feels cleaner. I've had mixed service in the past, but it was great last week. There is outdoor full service seating for warm weather, but FYI it is oversized picnic tables. Don't come for fancy, come for great local grub and cheap beer. Minimal water view but the river is right across the street for freighter watching.
Very nice, clean place. Generous portions such as salads with fresh veggies. Love the nice outdoor patio facing the St. Clair River.
