This place is the Bomb! A group of us stopped in after a trip to South Manitou Island for lunch....it was just what the Dr. ordered after being on the island for 4 days. We did not have their pizza...but had a wide variety of their deli sandwiches and would Highly recommend. It has about enough seating for 20 and has a good assortment of drinks and snacks. If you want a quick and simple place to eat and love good sandwiches and burgers it's a must!
The Yelp reviews drew us up the road to this newcomer to the summer scene in the Leelanau. We loved the country market vibe and casual farm tables scattered around the liquor counter and the serve yourself beverage cooler well stocked with craft sodas and beers -- but, you can't drink the beers here because they don't have the license. Odd. We ordered the Greek pizza, thick with fresh mozzarella and creamy feta topped with buttery artichokes and black olives. The small 4-square was just too much for two of us. The crust was thick and lightly crisped while our boys ordered pizza burgers. Just "ok". The meal ended on an odd note though. No one showed up to bring us a check. After 15 or 20 minutes of waiting, we went to the counter and told the clerk what we'd ordered to check out.
We are up in Glen Arbor from GR and Market 22 was recommended to us. We biked here with our family and are so glad we did. AMAZING! Gluten free options available. The chicken jalapeño soup is wonderful, not too hot. Sandwiches are delicious! Do not miss this place if you are in the area!

Pegtown Station is THE best breakfast in the region (and may have to stop serving at 11:30AM because they are out of food!! - see review below). I CAN tell you - this is the best "made from scratch" food anywhere in the area. The Pizza, Salads, Soups, Sandwiches - are all home made and fresh and delightful. I am back and forth between Traverse City and Leelanau County all the time and I make sure I route through Maple City just to enjoy their food. And the service is incredible. The folks are super nice and very "user friendly". My husband eats no meet or dairy and they accommodate him no matter what is on the menu. And I always want to switch things up and they do it. This is a local GEM. If you miss breakfast don't fret - it's ALL good food!!
I like how it was family owned, and staff was friendly. The wait was minimal when I went, and service was excellent. I ordered an omelet and it was fantastic. I would give the food a 5/5. The only reason they are getting 4/5 is due to their bathroom conditions, which left a bit to be desired.
Best pizza ever! And we live in Chicago. Homemade dough, farm fresh ingredients (we had the Deluxe) and a side salad. The pie crust was perfect, in between thin and thick, and not a hint of "greasy". Polite and quick service.....we arrived at 4 pm on a Sunday. We were famished and halfway on a 33 mile bike ride, the nice lady in nearby Cedar at the Duck to Swan art gallery recommended Pegtown and was spot on.....always go with the locals!!!

My wife and I spent Friday night at Little Traverse Inn and had a wonderful time. The setting is beautiful, right in the middle of Lelenau, with a view of Little Traverse Lake across M22 from the outdoor patio. It is just a short drive to Glen Arbor or to Suttons Bay. After being greeted by Graeme, he showed us to our room, which was spacious and comfortable, with a view of the lake. We headed down to the bar where I enjoyed a pint drawn from the selection of firkin beers on tap, and the bartender mixed up a rum drink for my wife. We chose a table on the lawn for dinner, and enjoyed a seared scallop appetizer, and two delicious entrees (I had to try the mac and cheese, and my wife chose the fish and chips, and both were very tasty). After dinner we headed out to the casino, and when we returned at about midnight, Graeme was waiting and offered us a nightcap from the bar before we headed to bed. In the morning, after a restful sleep on a very comfortable bed, we went down to breakfast. Judy had prepared a wonderful frittata, and hand made black currant jam to spread on toast from an artisan loaf. The only down side to the whole weekend was that they were booked for Saturday, and we were not able to spend another night in this charming bed and breakfast!
After driving past it on a daily basis for most of a vacation week, we ate at Little Traverse Inn last week with some trepidation due to the bad first review below. It turns out, that review was way off base. Not only was the food good, the service decent, and the building pleasant and sunny, they had a full bar with lots of Michigan beers. There were 8 of us, including 4 kids, and everyone was happy with their meal. The entrees were good--fish & chips, toad in the hole, shepherd's pie, beef pie, bangers and mash for the kids--all good. The scotch egg appetizer with house-made sausage (same as the toad in the hole/bangers) was delicious, but the papadums were a bit stale, although the delicious chutney made up for it. The smashed peas with mint were quite good as a side to the shepherds and beef pies. Cocktails left something to be desired, but stick with beer, wine, or whiskey and you should be good--it's up north, what can you expect. Overall, a nice place. I would go there again.
Graeme and Judy are amazing and the atomosphere is pleasant. The food is really great with a UK twist. Curries, beers, meat done up with a banger... Great stuff! THIS IS THE BEST (properly poured) GUINNESS IN THE STATE. He has rugby and soccer on the tube and you feel like you can really chill and enjoy yourself while getting a great meal in. Great people, great food and GREAT BEER (scotch too!). I saw a bad review - maybe just a bad day for them. I have been there 3 times and I LOVE IT!

Very laid back atmosphere. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff, and excellent food. We came near the end of dinner service and our waitress first let us know everything that they were out of for the night so we didn't "get our hopes up." I am glad she did because everything was very tempting. After enjoying the great bread and antipasto salad, we shared dressed heirloom tomatoes to start and two pasta specials. Tortellini in a perfect cream sauce with bacon and peas, and a penne with broccolini, white beans, italian sausage, and hot garlic oil. Both were excellent. Blueberry cobbler for dessert with a scoop of tasty vanilla ice cream. All the ingredients were high quality and used well. You could tell that the staff all love working in the cozy restaurant. If you are put off by things like the servers quietly talking and enjoying a glass of wine together by the bar as service winds down, be warned that it is that type of atmosphere. We thought that it was perfectly appropriate for the summer northern michigan vibe, and had a really lovely evening.
Good food but only if you live or are staying nearby. It's a long drive from Traverse City and you have to pass a lot of great restaurants on the way. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was good.

The food is nothing to write home about--generic American diner fare. It was great a few years ago. After changing hands I feel that the food quality dropped a bit. Service isn't great.
Ate here while on vacation in the area. "Meh" is a good way to describe it. I'm not hard to please when it comes to breakfast, and this wasn't *bad* but everything tasted pretty generic. And what kind of breakfast joint in Michigan of all places doesn't serve real maple syrup?
We come back to the foothills cafe for breakfast every time we're up here as a family-and it never disappoints. Always friendly service, hot coffee, and tasty food. Even though we're grown up after 25 years of coming to Glen Arbor, we still like drawing on the placemats with crayons and taking family pictures. Can't wait to come back again! Recommendation: if you toured the breweries or wineries of the area or just went through a few six-packs of local flavors the night before, the southern omelet with a hot heaping helping of sausage gravy and a coffee and water on the side really does the trick to get your morning back on track.
