I'm having a hard time figuring out why this place isn't packed! It should be. Judging by the taste of the food, the price, and the setting it really should be! The sushi's were HUGE, the waitress was kind, so was the manager, and not to mention the service was fast!!
I highly recommend. Good sushi with good customer service, Its a quite, clean, and laid back atmosphere. The master chef and waitress are very friendly. I totally appreciated the pictures on the menu of their specialty rolls. The sushi was fresh and taste great/good presentation.Their were so many options on their specialty menu to choose that look delicious. I plan on going back to try more. On 3/30/15 around 8:15pm we ordered the Lion King, Sunday Morning, California and Spicy Tuna rolls. We only tried this place because Noble closed early... Glad we did. Its location is hiding on WEST 14 mile rd. Just look for the Outback.
The food here is fantastic! If you're not into sushi, try the ramen --typically it's only served on the lunch menu, but every time I've asked, the owner has prepared it for me in the evening as well. The lunch specials are fantastic, the bulgogi is very yummy -- top notch! I'm stunned that there isn't a waiting line out the door. Lovely place, with lovely owners and a nice atmosphere.

This was my first experience trying Chicken Wings at a Mediterranean restaurant. They were pretty good. The lemon flavor was yummy. They were a little crispy, not bad The restaurant is very clean and cute. The waitress was very friendly and full of smiles. Smiles are always a nice addition to anything and everything :) I enjoyed the Chicken Schwarama sandwich for $4. It was a nice dining experience!
I really like this place. I have got a carryout twice, both times it was great. The place is very flexible. You can substitute hummus for rice, no charge. Want a fattosh salad instead of house no problem, small up charge. Everything has been seasoned perfectly and the staff is always pleasant and takes the time to explain things and help you select. I'll definitely be returning.
Just ate here for dinner...chicken kaftka + lamb shank. Total was around $25 for excellent salad, bread, and entree. Huge portions, good prices, fast service. Highly recommended!

Visited The Coach Sports Grille on a Saturday night to see the entertainment. We were not disappointed and were totally surprised by the food. This is not your typical neighborhood bar food. We had fried pickles appetizer, then we ordered anti-pasta salad and one of the best pizza's I have ever had! Feta Cheese, Mazzarella, Fresh Spinach and Mushroom. OMG what great food! We definitely recommend and will be back soon!
Classic neighborhood bar, inside and out. Plenty of seating, parking and TVs. What I was not expecting was the fancier menu, including some unique boozy drinks. Beer and pizza or ribs or a corned beef sandwich for Ken. Yummy fried green beans (with homemade dipping sauce) and girly salad, plus a sweet martini for me. Bartender and the locals sitting near us were very friendly, offering up recommendations for there and for other local spots.
Hidden gem of a bar and grill. The faygo rock and rye BBQ sauce pulled pork was excellent. As was the BBQ burger with sweet potato fries. Local Michigan cocktails, beer and even wines on the drink menu.

Pho Tai Restaurant

Reviews:
Let me just start by saying that that I love this place. I've only been there twice, but it's really put itself on the map for me as a great local place to go for Thai. Yep, you heard me, Thai. I'm as skeptical as the next person on these fusion restaurants where half the menu is an afterthought, but I really don't find that to be the case with Pho Tai. I presume that this is meant to be a primarily Vietnamese restaurant considering the business fliers in the front entrance. That said, I've really been struggling to find a good Thai place near my house. Madison Heights is a veritable mecca of good Vietnamese food, so I feel what really sets it apart from the rest is just how good their Thai is. Pho Tai really hits the mark there. I've had the drunken noodle so far, twice in two days because it just tickles me that much. Their ingredients are *incredibly* fresh. Their basil is bright and fragrant, their broccoli is crisp, flavorful, and green, and the lime slices that come with their noodles are amazingly juicy. There was zero disappointment there. Their wide rice noodles are cooked perfectly as well, not mushy or chewy but with just the right texture. The only drawback for me is the meat. I've tried both the beef and the chicken and I find their meat to be a little dry and stringy. No matter to me though, I'll just get all broccoli next time and feel a little bit healthier about my meal. Portions are generous, their sauces are delicious and addictive. The only thing I'd warn about besides the meat being a little sub-par is that they seem to have yet to work out their spice levels. I can handle a small amount of heat, not much at all. The first time I ordered, I got mild and it was perfect. Good kick on my heat scale, builds steadily with each bite, not at all overwhelming. I got mild again the second day and it about burned through my mouth. My boyfriend had a similar problem where he ordered medium plus the first day to some regret, then dropped down to medium the next day only to find it virtually the same. All in all, the Thai food here is more than worth it. I haven't had any of their Vietnamese here, but I intend to because it's very reasonably priced and with how fresh their produce has been thus far, I have high hopes for it. They've been pretty slow since their grand opening, so I hope you guys will give it a chance! I'm worried about them staying open with the slow trickle of business I see going in there, and I feel like the Madison Heights area will have lost something pretty special if they close up shop. One last note-- They're closed on Mondays, so don't drop by like we did just to be met with bitter disappointment. :')
Very good food and nice staff. Serves good viet and thai.
I've been coming to Pho Tai for awhile and just realized I haven't left a review! The owner I've known from the other place he opened over on Gratiot and 10 mile, Blue Star and the staff have also followed him here. Everyone is pretty friendly and I see a majority of the clientele interestingly are Hmong. The food here is pretty spot on; I never am disappointed when I order different things. I have yet to try the Thai food but one day, maybe ;-) I usually go with my staples of Pho Dac Biet, Com Suon, Fresh Rolls, Spring Rolls, or Bun Bo Hue. Also I love the bubble smoothies and shakes. Pho Dac Biet: I can never go wrong with it. I can eat this breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and yes, I actually have ^_^). The broth is clear with notes of anise, cinnamon, ginger, and beef. The rice noodles are soft, yet chewy. And oh how I love the different types of meat in this dish. You get your fill of tripe, tendon, brisket, eye of round, and meatballs. I love adding a squeeze of lime, slice of jalapeno, handful of bean sprouts, Thai basil, and a few squirts of hoisin and Sriracha to my bowl. Com Suon: I eat this when I really am craving a simple meat and rice dish, which this is. It consists of white rice, a grilled pork chop, lettuce, cucumber, a small dish of fish sauce for pouring/dipping, and an over easy egg on top of the meat. Also, they give you a small bowl of soup to eat on the side. The pork is always perfectly grilled and juicy with plenty of lemongrass, oyster sauce, and fish sauce marinated into it. Fresh rolls/spring rolls: These are great appetizers or you can order two or more plates as a whole meal. The fresh rolls are always soft and filled with veggies, herbs, shrimp, and pork. I don't really care for the hoisin/peanut sauce that comes with it but my daughter loves it. The spring rolls are nice and crispy and filled with meat and clear noodles but be careful and let it cool down before you eat it. Bun Bo Hue: Lately due to the cold weather, I've been ordering this quite often. It's velvety, fragrant, spicy, and red. I love different textures in my food so the pork blood cakes, sliced pig feet, and brisket are right up my alley. By the end of the meal, this soup has me blowing my nose and gulping my water but I wouldn't have it any other way.

So as far as FAST FOOD goes it gets five stars from me every day. Service: Quick usually friendly and accurate. Cleanliness: clean and neat appearance as well as clean bathrooms. Quality: every order is fresh and made to order. Piping hot fries burgers ect. Good quality food as well, makes for always a tasty experience. Value: fair prices for the great quality. Plus the offer text coupons and email coupons. Great place to grab lunch or dinner. They have a good sized menu as well as awesome frozen custard for dessert. If you haven't eaten here yet, all I got to say is, What have you been waiting for?
A friend recommended this place so my other friend and I decided to give it a try. I guess I thought it was a real restaurant but it's not, it's fast food, pure and simple. Once I went inside I lowered my standards and hoped for the best. I ordered a Cheese Butter Burger while my friend got a Sourdough Melt (burger). We split chili cheese fries and deep fried cheese curds. First of all, nothing was hot. Secondly, everything needed salt. I mean EVERYTHING, even the burgers. Everything was very bland. The Butter Burgers are swimming in grease. I asked for extra pickles and asked for onions, neither happened. The cheese curds were bland and dry and didn't come with anything to dip them in. They are like mozzarella sticks, only chunks, and not good. Marinara sauce would've helped. Ranch dressing did not. The saving grace was supposed to be their fresh frozen custard. We picked out two pints and the cashier told me that it would be cheaper to buy 4 even though we didn't want 4 because 2 pints came to about $8 and 4 pints were about $9. They say it's their special deal but it's not and now I have a lot of frozen custard in my freezer that I don't want. We took our 4 custards back home and we sampled two. They were so bland we tried the other two. I was completely disappointed by all the excitement over this place. The double caramel chocolate peanut was the plainest vanilla flavor I've ever had, it wasn't really vanilla, it was white and it was sweet but flavorless. No caramel. Small amounts of chocolate bits her or there. 3 peanuts. The Caramel Fudge Cookie Dough was the same flavorless white custard but it had some caramel and cookie dough. It was okay at best. The Butter Brickle was more flavorful than the white custard but that's all I have to say about that. The last was a surprise and by far the best one but that's not saying much. It was the Really Reeces and it was chocolate custard that was good not great. It was overpriced for fast food that wasn't very good, most of it went in the trash and custard was pushed on me like it was a deal and now it's just taking up space in my freezer. Trash night can't get here soon enough. Ugh.
As far as fast food goes culvers has to be the best in the industry. Every time I come to this location in Royal Oak the service is always extremely friendly and the food is delivered fast and the quality is always exceptional.

I have visited a few times since the new owners took over a few months back. The quality and taste of the food is still great! Every time I go in there there are a least a few tables dining in. With the previous owners there was hardly any dine-in customers. Bonus points for giving fried wontons with the soup on carryout orders!
Super fast and delicious takeout make this place my top spot in the Clawson/Madison Heights area for Chinese food.
It was pretty good. I realized after going there that I am not a huge Chinese food fan, but LC's gave me hope. I had to totally modify the lunch menu to make it so I could eat. I changed the soup, the egg roll, rice and meal. They didn't even blink. With water it was $8 and I left with a big container of left overs for dinner. Super friendly. Seemed clean. Plus I had a yelp coupon. Whoo HOOO!

A great little ice cream shop. Make sure to bring cash... they do not accept credit card! The people who work there are always willing to go the extra mile to see a smile on a kids face... and they don't disappoint for anyone else for that matter. The place is always packed on a summer night... so don't be surprised if there is a little line for you to wait in. :)
A must in the summer! It's your run-of-the-mill ice cream stand with soft-serve ice cream, sundaes, shakes, etc. I only wish they had more dip options. Just so you know it's cash only and parking can be kind of tricky. They have a drive-thru and the line through that can block access to the parking spots. I usually park at the cardiologists' office next door.
Shakers has been a staple in MH for as long as I can remember. They have the best soft serve ice cream and every type of current themed Popsicle you could imagine. My single only complaint is that it always smells like cigarette smoke when you are at the windows. That's super gross, especially in the food industry --- but the people there are very nice.

I dig this place. The name of it is a little deceptive. First off, they don't have a grill. Secondly, they don't have much food. If you want pizza, you have it delivered. What you DO get is a white, cinder block, dive bar. They have some video games, a pool table, and a bad juke box. i've been here a few times and have never seen more than 5 patrons at a time. My sell, of course is the cheap ass booze! My vodka and diets here are only $2.50. Woop! Can't beat that with a bag of dicks!

This is how this bar double charges their patrons: there are two waitresses that take care of your table. One waitress at the end of the night gives your boyfriend the bill while you are in the bathroom. The boyfriend pays cash, the other waitress comes to you with the bill and you pay credit card. They split and pocket the cash, and the business gets paid. Meanwhile, on the way home, we find out that we both paid! This has happened 3 (every) times over, and the only reason I ever went back was to give this dump another chance. I was obviously too generous, which is my typical nature, but places like this ruin my want to be kind or generous. In addition, The karaoke system is old, the feedback on the hot microphones want to break my eardrums, the music list is too old, there's NO room to sing, I've tripped over loose cords EVERY time I've been there, the karaoke host is rude to anyone singing outside her clique, and she plays favorites with the karaoke rotation, and her friends get to sing more than all the patrons who are looking to sing.
Came here for the first time on a Saturday night. The place was packed and the karaoke was loud. Sat up at the bar and watched the rest of the Wings game. The bartenders were nice and the drinks were reasonably priced. I haven't tried the food but it looked good. I'll definitely come back here again when I'm in the area.
"I'm writing this review as I'm waiting for my waitress to cash me out. She's too busy dancing to the Cupid Shuffle to bring me my check. Karaoke here is weird - you have to stand with your back to the crowd to read the lyrics. The $3 long islands are gross. 1 star." I found this in my drafts, written two years ago. Since then I returned to On the Rocks once more, just recently. We started with a nacho appetizer. It came pretty quickly, but I think it came a little too quickly, as the cheese was hardly melted. Normally a huge fan of bar nachos, I didn't think these were anything better than I would have made myself - and I'm not an awesome cook. My boyfriend ordered a burger medium well and I ordered a chicken caesar salad. My salad was good, but you can't usually go wrong with chicken caesar. His burger was SUPER pink in the center, which he didn't discover until he had eaten several bites in. He wasn't super hungry at this point and didn't say anything to the waitress. We aren't really complainers, more of the "remind me not to order this from here again" types. The waitress took away our plates and when she came back she asked my boyfriend if his burger was too pink and if that was why he didn't finish it. So clearly, it wasn't just him being picky, since she noticed that it was pretty raw in the center. When she asked why he didn't say anything and he said "I don't know - I felt bad and I wasn't even hungry anymore". She laughed and when she brought back our bill she had taken off the burger and told us "I'm not going to make you pay for something you didn't eat!" She was a really sweet waitress, very attentive, and is the main reason why I gave On The Rocks 3 stars after our second visit. We probably would only return for drinks in the future and hope that the dancing waitress from 2012 doesn't work there any longer. Oh - and the $3 long islands are still gross!
